For those, who have native ROMs:
01.
Upgrading the ROM Code erases all of personal data and custom-installed applications from the device. Make sure all of your personal information and data are backed up to your PC via ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center. After updating the ROM, copy the data back to your mobile device and reinstall your applications.
02.
Third-party applications may have compatibility issues with Windows Mobile™ 6. Please consult with the software developer(s) before upgrading to Windows Mobile™ 6.
03.
Make sure the remaining battery power is above 50% before performing a ROM upgrade.
04.
Before upgrading the ROM, remove the miniSD (U1000, D810 and 838Pro) or microSD (P800W) memory card from your device.
05.
Do not disconnect the USB cable or start other applications on your PC while the ROM upgrade program is running. Doing so may cause the upgrade program to fail. In the worst situation, your mobile device may fail to boot.
06.
The entire ROM upgrade installation process takes about 15-20 minutes. Please wait patiently.
07.
When the upgrade has completed, the mobile device will reboot and start installation of certain components automatically. This takes about 3-5 minutes.
08.
If you are not familiar with these operations or if you don’t know how to work with your PC, please visit your distributor or contact us for assistance.
09.
Note that once the operating system is upgraded to Windows Mobile™ 6, it cannot be downgraded to Windows Mobile 5. Consider your options carefully before you upgrade.
10.
Users who have a membership with HTC should upgrade via the HTC official website. Upgrades done otherwise, i.e. through non-HTC-authorized channels, are considered illegal. HTC shall not be liable for any damage to the data or the user’s breach of the related laws and regulations.

How do I synchronize my PC and mobile device?
To synchronize your mobile device to a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer, you need to install Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 (or later). If you already have an earlier version of Microsoft ActiveSync installed, you must update it to synchronize your mobile device and PC.
To synchronize your mobile device to a Microsoft Windows Vista-based computer, you need to install Windows Mobile Device Center.
How do I get Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 or Windows Mobile Device Center?
If you are upgrading from Windows Mobile® 5.0 to Windows Mobile® 6, you need to download either ActiveSync® 4.5 or Windows Mobile Device Center from the Microsoft Web site:
ActiveSync 4.5
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/activesync/activesync45.mspx
Windows Mobile Device Center
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx
If you purchased your device with Windows Mobile® 6 pre-installed, you can install ActiveSync 4.5 or Windows Mobile Device Center from the Getting Started Disc.
What is Windows Live™ ?
Windows Live™ lets you easily find information on the web through Live.com and offers various Internet services, including Windows Live Mail, Windows Live Messenger, and Windows Live Spaces. Using Windows Live™ on your mobile device, you can send and receive instant messages, read or compose Live (Hotmail®) e-mail, and send photos to your Live Space.
When you set up Windows Live™ for the first time, your Windows Live contact list will be integrated with your Outlook contacts. You can then send and receive Windows Live Mail in Messaging.
How do I access the Windows Live™ service?
To access the Windows Live™ service, open the Windows Live program and sign in.
The first time you use Windows Live™, sign in by using your Windows Live ID, which is your Windows Live Mail or Hotmail address, and password.
What are the new features in Windows Mobile® 6 Messaging?
Windows Mobile® 6 Messaging has HTML e-mail support. In incoming HTML e-mails, formatting such as tables, inline photos, bullets and colored text, are retained without layout shifting or resizing.
What new features does Windows Live™ Messenger have that are not available in the mobile version of MSN Messenger?
When you are signed into Windows Live™ Messenger, photos of your Windows Live contacts are shown. You can also send files to them via Messenger.
What's new about Calendar in Windows Mobile® 6?
The improved Calendar in Windows Mobile® 6 has a calendar strip in Agenda view that shows the time range.
If your mobile device connects to Exchange Server 2007, Calendar also allows you to accept or decline meeting requests from others, and add required and optional attendees when you create meeting requests.
What's new about Contacts in Windows Mobile® 6?
Windows Mobile® 6 has added the call history to the contact card. This allows you to see all calls from and to a contact when you are viewing a contact card.
What is Storage Card Encryption?
Windows Mobile® 6’s storage card encryption feature protects your storage card from being accessed by unauthorized persons by encrypting the data in the storage card. Encrypted files on your storage card can only be read by your mobile device.
Attention:
1. When you synchronize your mobile device with Microsoft Exchange Server and perform a Remote Wipe, data in the storage card will be deleted.
2. If the storage card is or was previously enabled on your Windows Mobile® 6 device, you will no longer be able to access the encrypted files on your storage card after you perform a hard reset, clear storage, or ROM update/upgrade. Before performing a hard reset, clear storage, or ROM update/upgrade, make sure you back up all your files from the storage card to your PC first using ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center. Then copy the files back to your storage card afterwards.
If I delete the sync connection settings between my PC and mobile device, will my PIM data be deleted from my device, too?
For security, all PIM data, such as Contacts, Calendar, E-mail, Tasks, Notes, and Favorites will be removed from your device when you delete the sync connection settings between your PC and device. You should back up your data first before deleting the sync connection settings.

Only need to downgrade the SPL if you plan on flashing the ROM from HTC as is. http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=59&Itemid=27
Or, you can wait until someone extracts the .NBH file which will allow you to flash with the RUU and keep HardSPL7(2.10)..
By waiting, this allows more flexability in managing the Radio and ROM releases your self.

you can try to use dutty's nbh tools to extract the nbh file then upgrade. i tried it works fine by not downgrading the SPL

can u pls explain the step by step procedure

Apologies but I'm new to this - my HTC TyTn (unlocked) starts to show the progress bars for the firmware update but then stops and tells me I've got an "Invalid Vendor ID".
I was under the impression that this Dopod 838 WM6 official firmware would work on my TyTn? What am I missing please?
Thanks all,
Fedorov.

just checked the htc asia website- official wm6 for hermes is ready for download!!! Everybody scoot there now!!!

Upgrade to HardSPL.
then
READ THIS THREAD.

My Method
The steps that I took were:
1. First run the official EXE and monitor your c:\documents and settings\username\local settings\temp folder.
2. Eventually the signed *.nbh file will appear in a sub folder (90+ odd MB).
3. Copy out the *.nbh file to another location.
4. Continue through the EXE eventually it will bomb out and your device will restart.
5. Once booted copy SSPL-HERM (downloadable from wiki) to your device then execute it from the device.
6. Device will reset into bootloader mode.
7. Copy RUUWrapper (downloadable from wiki) into same location as *.NBH file on your PC.
8. Execute RUUWrapper select SSPL as the method and follow on screen prompts.
9. The process does take a while so be patient.
Hope this helps and Good luck.

Hi mrvanx,
First thanks very much for your effort since I have read your guide which is very useful for me.
I am using X01HT with WM6 (Black Pro 3.01 and Radio 1.41 and flashed HardSPL 2.10 Olipro), so if I wanna upgrade to Offical ROM from Dopod / HTC, do I need to use Dutty's tool to extract the nbh file to 7 files? and then repack them (include window, primary splash , secondary splash and ExtROM) ?
Do I also need to include the new "Radio" in the new repackage? (does it rewrite my current radio bootloader)?
Thanks so much!

You could keep the radio if you want to.
But it is still okay to flash back to previous as RADIO version for 1.47 is BL0108.

Thanks MacJuJu, Good to see u here.
I have repackage the ENG ROM, no radio is abt 80M and with new radio 1.47 is abt 94M , are those file size a bit too large?
Did I do anything wrong?

you dont need to repackage it...ive already done it.
See the relevant thread.

Sorry for the questions, there so much to read on here I'm now going round in circles I think!
1) I've NEVER flashed my HTC TyTn before but I presume I still need to install HardSPL as you advise, this is to save bricking I believe.
2) My unlocked TyTn is on the O2 network, I've heard mention of o2.cab files - do I need to do something extra here, apart from HardSpl and flashing the WM6 rom?
Thanks again, just had this awful feeling that it will flash okay and then I'd find that I couldn't get on my O2 network no more....

Why did I just feel in my bones that when any "official" ROM was released there would be a plethora of "how do I" questions?
Just why did I feel that coming.
I guess though, I'm glad that I've spent months reading, and flashing is a 10 minute no sweat deal anymore, thanks to the efforts of mrvanx, pof, des, and many others.
Config after flashing is another deal altogether.

Windows Vista, WM6, and Tethering

Ok I searched on the forums hard for this one so forgive me if this has already been answered. I see to find people with Windows Mobile 6 and Windows XP or people with Windows Vista but Windows Mobile 5.
Since I'm running Vista, I use Windows Mobile Device Center instead of ActiveSync. The functionality of the program is fine, so I have no complaints. However, to upgrade ROMs or anything...I use an XP Machine as it seems Vista seems to think the device disconnects upon the loading of the bootloader. I've read somewhere in the forums that there is a driver update to fix that, but after applying...WMDC doesn't work properly...so I'd save the trouble and use a machine that has XP running instead until a better fix comes along.
My 8525 came stock with a program called Wireless Modem as of ROM 1.34.502.1 shipped, which seems to have been replaced by Internet Sharing.
The Wireless Modem application worked fine after setting up the modem with the Vista driver also found in the forums. I also tested the bluetooth connection and set that up to tether as well and it worked fine.
I finally decided to upgrade after days of reading and I tried to use the Wireless Modem feature. I noticed it wasn't there and tried to use Internet Sharing. The layouts are similar...but when I hook up the phone under USB, my computer doesn't even recognize it as a new device (modem) as I did uninstall the last driver.
When connected via Bluetooth, it recognized the device and installed the driver as Windows Mobile-based device support by default. Under services, only Active Sync is only available...as opposed to before when I had Dial-Up networking available. When I set up a PAN, the computer and device are connected together, however I do get the same problem as some others with a connection that is limited or local only. So the tethering is unsuccessful.
I recently upgraded my Cingular 8525 to WM6BE v1.2 (Cingular Edition)...which I can't seem to find in the threads anymore. I'm also running Radio 1.38.00.11...but I don't think that would affect anthing. I reverted back to my shipped ROM to check for alternate settings that might have helped...then I was going to revert back to WM6BE v1.2 Cingular...then I realized I accidently deleted that custom ROM and I couldn't find it anymore. I was stuck putting on the WM6BE v1.2 on the sticky thread after which forced me to reinstall the data settings/keyboard fix from the cab files. Haven't had problems with them but I did like that customized ROM for Cingular a little better considering I really like "clean" ROMs.
Anyway, I'm attempted to connect via MEdia Net AND Cingular GPRS settings provided by the Cingular Data Settings cab floating around the forums. It works fine it seems...it just seems like the problem is getting Vista to recognize the device as a modem, or at least having modem capabilities.
I guess thats as detailed as I can get right now. Hopefully someone can help now ^_^
You are right. I tried updating rom on Vista's Windows mobile Device and end up damaging my xda2i. The device displays "USB" when connected to cradle and "Serial v1. 01" when not. Do you have a solution apart from upgrading?
Solution on Vista
Hello Guys, I'm running vista too and I bothered 2 hours before getting it done.
So this is one of the "Step-By-Step Instruction Guides".
0. Extract the attached file into a directory of your choice
1. Disconnect your Device
2. Goto Settings > Connections and choose "USB To PC"
3. Uncheck the option there
4. Reconnect your Device
5. Goto your DeviceManager and search for "HTC USB Sync", double click it and choose Drivers
6. Click on the "Update Driver"-Button and choose search on the computer
7. Click "Choose a driver from list..."
8. Click the button to the right (Open from Media)
9. Choose any INF File from the extracted ones.
10. You're done, upgrade your ROM.
11. To Rollback drivers, use the "Automatic Update" instead of Manually selecting (it will choose the newest ones)
12. Recheck the option of step 2 unless you're planning to use the slow variant.
Have Phun and Good Luck
Have I understand right? With this tweak We will be able to applied ROM upgrades to our HERMES from windows VISTA?
Confirmed.
I did already update my ROM in this way.
Cheers,
soniX
EDIT:
Please use HardSPL or something equal to be sure the risk is at a minimum.
And I can not be held responsible for any damage to your Hermes or your Brain
But as I said, for me it worked perfectly, remember to Restore the new Drivers or the Mobile Device Center will not work.
Hmm I don't think you people understand what I was asking...
I already know about that method to update with Vista...I actually tried it yesterday and for some reason it didn't work so I just use an XP Machine for now...but I was just asking merely about TETHERING.
I already have the ROMs of my choice loaded on my device.
In simpler words: How do I go about tethering (Running Internet Sharing) when my computer does not recognize the device as a modem...through USB or Bluetooth.
I'm running WM6BE v1.2 and Windows Vista Ultimate.
Maybe its Wm6BE, but I have used all the other roms (xda live, des, lsvw) and all I do is plug in the usb, start internet sharing and it connects no problem. Have to start internet sharing before wmdc starts. Internet Sharing works great, better than wireless modem. I was not able to use the WM6be due to problems with sbp pocket plus. I am currently using XDA live .30 and Vista Ultimate.
Does the technique in the post above work??
Also once that procedure is carried out can rom updates and RUU programs be used exactly the same as on XP??
If anyone is available to do some screenshots for me for an updated GUIDE, please PM me (i dont use or have a copy of vista )
I enjoy the community so I think I'll do my best to contribute to it. When I get the chance, I'll try to make a guide with screenshots on using Windows Vista and loading WM6.
I'm going to try to switch to LVSW build with his new update today and I'll see how that works out.
I REALLY like the one custom build someone made (I forgot who) with the Cingular connection settings defaulted from the Cingular Shipped ROMs...I wish I can find those files again.
It seems like the people developing the new Cingular data connection cab files are really working hard at getting the default settings as if they just bought their phoes straight from Cingular.
I'll let you know how LVSW goes with Internet Sharing and Windows Vista

Also, I've seen this guide posted twice...yours missing one step where I was supposed to "End WMDC.exe Process in Task Manager"
I still can't get Vista to run RUU...do you run the RUU with your device in Bootloader? I think I even tried that once and and still couldn't get it to work with the older Driver.
Not exactly sure what I'm missing or doing wrong...but its definitely after I install the driver. It acts as if I didn't install it at all, even if I check in drive details and its all correct in there.
i tried the method above for upgrading in vista and it didnt work for me...
what am i missing?
Where is it stopping?
Because I did it once, it has to work.
Where is it stopping? - At the bootloader (LSD-Screen with psychedelic colors ?) - or before ?
I will do an upgrade in the afternoon again and this time i will record ALL of my steps.
Hopefully I'll find the recept for the cake.
Cheers,
soniX
Yea it gets to the bootloader screen and I'm stuck as if I never loaded the AS4.5 drivers.
Sorry, too less time today for a screenshot-decorated guide.
I just upgraded my device again (only to proove it does work).
So here is again a guide, which differs to the first one.
I guess there are two ways to do this...
Prequesites:
- Search my previous post and download the USBAS.zip-File
- Extract it into a directory...
- You'll need your device and it has to be connected, too
The first approach:
Change the Serial-Driver
- On the device click Start > Settings, choose "Connections" there and click on "USB to PC"
- uncheck the item for "Enhanced..." there
- Click on OK.
- Now goto your Device Manager.
- Search an Item named "HTC USB Sync".
- Right-click it and choose "Update Driver".
- Choose the second option, then select to choose manually
- Select the directory where the zip has been extracted to and choose any inf file.
Start the Update-Tool
- After the driver-update you need to set the device back to RNDIS-Mode (follow Step 1 and recheck the option)
- Verify that you're running the correct drivers for the RNDIS-Device, the date in the device-manager has to be around January, 17th 2007.
- Start the ROM-Upgrade.
- It should work now.
For me it did not really work to switch from RNDIS to USB-Serial drivers in my localized (thanks bepe for the great work!) german WM6.
So if you have a problem with the first method use this one.
- Start your Device-Manager, we have to be very fast.
- Start the ROM-Upgrade as you've probably done before
- If the bootloader starts up, you'll notice a device/dettached,device/attached sound, this is your sign, goto to you Device-Manager.
- Search for the Entry "HTC USB Sync".
- Update drivers like it's written above.
- If it won't work and the upgrade tool dies with "cannot connect", don't worry. Reset your device (soft) and try again, this time you should not need to update the drivers.
Cheers,
soniX
I'm using XP and a USB cable. USed to work OK before upgrading to WM6 Black but now I get Error 797 on the PC saying modem not found or busy!

For Vista guide with screen shots, so far i've only flashed HardSPLv4 from inside Vista, but it worked i'm still plucking up enough courage to do a full flash of WM6
Nic
I do this (for Hard-SPL, don't know for other):
I have made what it was written on modaco (http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=252977), but
1) I was not in bootloader.
2) While active sync try to connect (but it does not succeed because they are not its driver) I've stopped WMDC.EXE and now hermes is connected.
3) NOW I do a flash.
If there is something that is not clear you say it to me.
My method also works (for me)
Can somebody confirm that my method works for vista?
soniX
I'm based also to your method, but it would be more complete to integrate it with the method on modaco.
It seems that most people didn't get the point of this thread...weird considering I put TETHERING in the subject line. However, it is nice to see people trying to help others with Vista to flash. I have the same problem myself but access to machines with XP nullify my real need for flashing on Vista for now.
I'm about to reinstall LVSW's latest ROM set for the billionth time and I'll try out tethering on that. It seems that people who were on WM6BE were having a hard time with Internet Sharing. I'll load a new rom and let you know how it goes.

unable to update hx4700 2003 - MW6 using Bootloader!

I've read good reviews on chrismrulz's bootlaoder programe and I'm trying to use it to update my iPAQ 4700 from 2003 to WM6. However I am obviously doing something wrong as I just cannot get it to work!
Please can anyone offer any advice?
I hope I am following the exact instructions as mentioned here at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=325727
and here is what is happening:
Step 1.
Make new folder in root directory.
No Problem c:\Bootloader set up.
Step 2.
Download WM6 ROM and bootloader into file.
Done as directed from links in instructions directly into new folder.
Checked and c:\Bootloader now has 2 files in it Bootloader.exe and WM6_4700_0_7_0_RELEASE4.rar
Step 3.
Put hx4700 in bootloader mode and place in sync cradle.
I assume I have done this correctly. Screen goes blank and you can just make out the HP logo it says USB when in cradle and shows version 1.01
Step 4.
Open bootloader and select image.
Ok I go to folder and double click on Bootloader.exe
I get a security warning about the software and ignor by pressing run.
2 things now happen simutaniously. Bootloader.exe expands and creates c:\Bootloader\Bootloader and fills it with more files and directories and....
I get a box asking me to select a file to flash ROM to my device. I change the directory back to C:\Bootloader and select WM6_4700_0_7_0_RELEASE4.rar and press open.
I get a message telling me to please wait the file is being extracted and inviting me to press ok. Before I can press ok the box is replaced with a winRAR Diagonistic Message saying c:\Bootloader\WM6_4700_0_7_0_RELEASE4.rar no files to extract.
I close this dialog box and get another message telling me to wait whilst it edits files. Then this in turn is replaced by a message saying Error reading file c:\Bootloader\Bootloader\temp_nbf\ I click on OK to acknowledge.
And that’s it nothing else happens.
I've obviously read the instructions wrong or something can anyone help point me in the right direction? Or offer any alternatives?
I'm using Active Sync 3.7.1
Thanks
Phil
Open the rar file (with WinRar), and read the instructions that are in the Readme.txt file... And update your Activesync to version 4.5, which is needed for WM6.
Excellent,
Thank you Ridolfo, so much easier than what I was trying to do. I now have WM6 working and am very pleased with it.
One problem i now have is Activesync 4.5 will not work with my Outlook 2002 I dont suppose anyone knows a workaround or do I have to buy a copy of Outlook 2007?

Very strange indeed, my AS works fine with OL2002... Did you use the MS Office Update to get the latest servicepacks for OL ?

Try these .....
First install JBed, then Opera
Cheers
Dirk
Hi Dirlan,
Thank you for the files. I was already experimenting with Opera so I deleted it from my iPAQ loaded Cloudyfa_EsmertecJbed.cab and then reinstalled Opera.
Unfortunately I get an error message from Jbed saying "the file jbed cannot be opened. Either it is not signed or one of its components cannot be found.
Any ideas?
Phil
After extracting using WinRAR
Trying to upgrade from 2003 to WM6 ...
After extracting WM6_4700_0_7_0_RELEASE4.rar using WinRAR I am trying to follow the instructions in the readme.txt (as Bootloader didn't work for me as in the first post in this thread):
From readme.txt
To begin with if you want to flash your device using cradle, you have to:
1.In processes (CTRL+ALT+DEL) you must kill Wcesscom.exe
2.Then Enter in Bootloader (Contacts+iTask+Reset)
3.Put your device on usb cradle.
4.Run mtty11a.exe
5.In "Port" choose \\.\WCEUSBSH001 and click OK
6.Write command: lnb OS_WM6.nb0
7.Wait
8.Enjoy yourself
As I'm not all that familiar with this can someone explain in step-by-step what's involved with the mtty11a.exe application, and Step 6?
Currently my hx4700 is what I think in bootloader mode (Screen is dim an I can barely make out "USB" the hp logo and the current version "v1.01"). I previously tried the original WM5 upgrade and it just dies on me at 0.1%.
Hi tk2000
As I posted the original post I know exactly what you are going through. However once I went through the instructions you are currently trying to use every thing went smoothly. You have extracted the .rar file and are unsure of the mtty11a.exe file.
Assuming you have you have killed Wcesscom.exe on your pc as in step 1,
and the device in in its cradle in bootloader mode (as you described very faint HP logo, USB and version 1.01 displayed).
Then double click on the mtty11a.exe as in step 4. This then brings up an application and you will see a dropdown menu next to port, simply select the option \\.\WCEUSBSH001 and click ok.
6.Write command: lnb OS_WM6.nb0 now this stage I was a little unsure of myself I simply typed "lnb OS_WM6.nb0" in from the keyboard and pressed enter and it started to load. This takes a few minutes but afterwards you should have WM6 on your device.
I had to do a couple of hardware restarts and it took a few minutes in its cradle but it all works fine for me.

Hi Phil,
There should be an 'opera-unsigned*.cab' somewhere here on the forum. I didn't try it because Opera works fine for me.
Sorry
Dirk
Phil3099, I a followed the instructions exactly but I don't see a status bar on the pda. mtty showes the progress with lines of + but the 4700 stays on the hp logo screen with USB on top.

Help with Office 6.1!!!

As I've previously mentioned in two other threads, I've flashed the HTC 1.33 WM6 ROM to my Excalibur (previously using T-Mo WM6 ROM). It only offers the horrid ClearVue suite instead of Office Mobile. I've followed the instructions on how to install the .msi for Office Mobile 6.1 to my PC (while ActiveSync is connected to my device). The strange thing is...it doesn't recognize my phone as even being a Windows Mobile device! I have my USB enabled through ActiveSync, so there should be nothing wrong with my connection. It sounds like an issue with the ROM. Any suggestions???
Yeah. Install ricky's or Kavana's ROMs!!

That was the thread I followed in the first place... After installing the .msi file, I attempted to run it from my PC desktop (while the S621 remains connected to ActiveSync). The message continuously pops up stating that the program does not recognize a Windows Mobile device connected. Thanks anyway, though.

Can I chg Dopod 838Pro to ATT 8525??

Sorry for my being so inept on this but I have an 838 from Australia and I wanted to change it to use in the US on my ATT/Cingular account. It only displays Asia/Pacific countries so I can't select ATT for internet connection.
I have Vista Business and tired to install the Hard-SPL but even though I've been able to sync my contacts and calendar directly to my laptop, the Hard-SPL dies and says it can't connect to my 838.
I took the next route of trying to install the ATT build with the boot loader but get invalid vendor ID.
The phone works with UMTS ATT as the carrier but I can't connect to my email via the web since I can't set the connection.
Any help would be appreciated.
If you install and run the HTC Network Wizard, you should be able to select United States/AT&T and let it do all the configuration for you.
Once installed, the shortcut icon should appear in Settings/Connections.
File attached.
Seriously though, if you are gonna try to stuff around with the os without knowing what can happen INSTALL HARD SPL... Look on page 116, post #1160 of this thread to do it with the sd card - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722
Cheers...
Thanks for the suggestions. I keep trying to install the Hard-SPL but following the instructions, it says that WMDC on Vista must be running and it does in fact connect to the 838, but as soon as I try to run the install, it disconnects and ends up coming back with an error that says it can't talk to the device. Frustrating.
Also, since I'm having this comm problem between my laptop and the 838, is it possible to load the Hard-SPL software on miniSD chip and execute it from there?

Yes you sure can. Make sure you read the instructions on how to flash from SD first!
Already gave you directions to instructions to find out how to flash via sd card... All programs needed are in the link I gave you WITH the post # too...
Cheers...
Thanks to all. Now have it working. Really only needed to install and run the unlimited Network Wizard and it all came into place.
Thanks again
