Hi,
I have got confused with the various bricked posts, misnamed WWE update posts etc.
What I would like to know is the following:
1. Does the imate update (english) work on the MDA Pro?
2. Does anyone have the original T-Mobile version for returning it to the release T-mob version?
3. Does doing an upgrade invalidate my warranty with T-Mob?
My issue with current roms is that the device crashes at least once a day, and I am getting fed up with reboots.

It works fine with the MDA Pro, I have mine running the JASJAR Rom.

Download that, it has the No Device ID exe.
hi, did the ROM change speed up your MDA pro in any way? also does the video calling feature still work.

Mine does seem a little quicker, especially after overwriting the iMate supplied .tsk files for the homescreens.
WiFi a *bit* more stable, but not perfect.
So... If I download that file, unpack it onto my UK T-Mobile MDA PRO and run it, I will have the latest software on the MDA PRO?
Are there any 'issues'?
Will I lose any data\ programs\settings etc.?

You run the install from a PC, having put the phone into "bootloader" mode. As far as I know, its a newer ROM version than is supplied with the MDA Pro, and also doesn't contain the T Mobile customisation. It DOES include MSN and Skype as standard, as well as a couple of other bits.
It will totally wipe your phone / settings, but if you select T Mobile UK after you install the new ROM, most of the T Mobile settings are reconfigured for you. You just have to do the 3G one yourself, but the details are in another thread (possibly in the main Universal area of this forum).
Imate produce regular ROM upgrades for their other phones, so it is likely they'll release a new ROM before Orange / O2 / T Mobile manage it.

I got some problem with my mda pro sync with my laptop?
It say cant detect the device. I cant install the driver either. Anyone have the same problem with the mda pro or only me?

Hi, I think the only way to unlovk the MDA at present is via the subsidy code from T Mobile. In the UK you can only do this after you have completed a month on contract and t mobile will charge you 15 pounds for the priviledge. On 02 the devices come unlocked for any network.
with ref to the ROM update to WWE jasjar, this is an absolute must for ALL t mobile users. I can confirm things are stable all round, but don't expect you can get away from those periodic resets - M$ seem to have built in this feature in all pocket PC OS ! - yes I am calling this a feature of the OS now.
Look around on the forums here on how to flash there are some very good posts about.
Remember, most important if you want stability only install essential software.

Mda pro usb activesync problem
Hi thank for the reply. You mean i should change it to the jasjar rom which is the link above? I am new to pda phones and need some help.
I cant connect my device to my laptop using usb. It say device not detected.
I install the software and it should work rite. Is there something i didnt do? I read the manual saying install the software then have sync relationship with the pc and device. How do i sync the relationship? Do i just plug in the usb to my laptop then it will automatically detect my mda pro?

have the jasjar files on my computer but click on bootld and it says not valid 32 programme. Try and load the software but it says wrong country code. what am I doing wrong, MDA PRO first PDA

You just need to use the no device id update exe and it will work fine.

Hi, as a newbie, could anyone tell me how to get the rom upgrade for this device please, and the easy way to install it
Having been in touch with vodafone they pushed me back to my contract supplier (carfone warehouse) who are useless.
On the imate website I can see the rom upgrade but, after entering my IMEI it wont allow me any further!
- would this rom upgrade work anyway, or do i need the vodafone specific one? - i note that orange / o2 upgrade is already available

pls search the forum...also get hold of FTP of this web site and navigate yrself to Universal Folder..u will see lot of ROMs and the ways to put them in yr device.

I read that it would be possible to use the O2 Rom or the official HTC ROM if i CID Unlock my device. I would pay the 28€ to imei-check if this is true..

You don't need to CID unlock to upgrade to WM6.

Make sure you install enablerapi.cab before else you'll end up with a bricked MDA and have to restore it through bootloader!

I've got a Softbank X02HT with the Dopod WM6.1 ROM (thx ccruzzmz!), it works fine, but I need to unlock the SIM to use with my GSM provider... I'm looking for a website or something to unlock it, but the only one that I found for the X02HT is http://www.x02ht-unlock.com/, but there are few comments in the web about this site..... (Also, many users of this forum had problems)
I was wondering if the Dopod C730 or HTC S630 unlocks will work with my device .. Someone knows about it?

Hi all.
Im trying to unlock a palm treo 500v from vodafone spain. I already flashed 3 ROMs from caramba_sda (my_rose wm6.1, 6.5.2 and 6.5.3) and the phone works well with all 3 (the vodafone skin is gone for good!) but te problem comes when i try with a different sim card from movistar. The phone shows: sim card locked from the target network. It remains locked!
Is there anything to do besides the ROM flashing? Is there a unlock code calculator for this phones? Is there any chance to unlock this phone?
Please i need some help. I already have ordered a sim card from another operator and in a few days the vodafone sim will die!!
Please help me! Its a nice phone and i dont want to leave it in the drawer, or using it as a paper weight!
