"Voice Tag" software gone missing (Orbit 2006) - P3300, MDA Compact III General

Hi fellows,
First-of-all appologies if I am asking this question again.
I have recently upgraded the OS in my Orbit and now its WM-2006 from O2, I have clearly remember that I have used ""Voice activation"" or ""Voice Tag"" software to link my few contacts to voices, on that day once I was tagging the contacts in that same software there was also the option to voice tag the software or commands to setup, and just for trial I have tagged TomTom to run through the voice command. Since after couple of days I am trying to search that facility but no-way I can find that software. That voice Tagging software is completely gone missing.
Can anyone help, I dont wanna install third party software for voice tagging.
Sid

The Dopod SEA Rom doesn't feature the Cyberon voice dialler software, which I personally hate anyway - Microsoft Voice Command (v1.6) is SO much better, though I do realise you said you don't want 3rd party apps.
I know that the official O2 WM6 ROM does have what you're after, but that's OS v3.4 compared to the Dopod which is v3.7, if that bothers you...

It works perfectly. After installation you only have the speelddial settings icon added in your settings menu. You have to manually make a shortcut to the activate file: \windows\sddialer.exe.
Thats all!

Thanks for the replies, anyway I found the software came by default in 2006, basically this software seems like to works with all the option only once (first time) when there is no Voice trained for anything, and later-on if you want to add another voice command for any other APPLICATION then it doesn't start in that specific mode (or may be I couldn't figure-out), This software is from a company called ""Cyberon"" ( http://www.cyberon.com.tw/speeddial.htm ), Attached picture tabbed screen doesn't appear again after you tag 1st voice command (doesn't matter for contacts or application).
I have also tried Microsoft Voice Command software but according to their reputation I personally feel that that software is the most crapiest software for voice recognition.
So according to my experiment use the default software, write a list of your daily use software and then voice tag them on the first time, otherwise you have to delete all the voice tags including contacts, or may be you have to hard-rest your Orbit to tag your softwares. e.g TomTom
Thanks
Sid

1st time u can use the normal activation tag (sddialer.exe). If nothing is stored (1st time) u can add contacts of software. If u want 2 add anything later, u go 2 setttings and then personal, there u can find a icon to the screen you want.

I am sorry Twiggerdingo what are you trying to explain, couldn't get it. 2nd of all the link you have given is not working at all

sorry my english isnt that good, not my native language. I wil try again.
install the cab.
Then you look ok the ppc "start, settings, personal", you will see a icon named Voice Speed dial. The you can set your contacts and voicecommand.
To execute voice speed dial, you have to make a shortcut to the file sddialer.exe. This file is in the \windows directory on your ppc.
Cant be more specific!
File is uploaded again, try the link now (be4 its gone again).

Picture and ringtone

Hi.
Does the QTEK have a way to have differentiated ringtones for each person (group)?
How?
Thanks in advance,
Joao Caldeira
caller id 1.20 should be standard on a blue angel
Without additional software (like pic&ring, etc) how can this be done?
Thanks in advance,
Joao Caldeira
On the assumptions that you have Caller Id 1.20 installed:
Start/programs/Photo contacts
or Contacts/Tools/Photo Contacts
or Contacts/Tap & hold any name/Photo contacts
Hi.
But that just adds a photo, right? doesn't assign a different ringtone!
I searched the web for "Caller Id 1.20" and I didn't found anything.
Is this a third party software, a characteristic, a standard...???
When I receive a call, if I assign a photo in "Photo Contacts" I see the caller's photo.
Thanks again,
Joao Caldeira
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=15176&highlight=
On my machine I can add ringtones as well
try PhotoContacts/Tools/about => Version 1.20 (build 17957)
For what it's worth, my XDA 2s came with 1.17. This does not support the ringtone customisation
I've installed version 1.2 and it all works well
(see the link - you need to remove the registry settings as well as the link in \windows\startup before you can delete the last of the IA* files in \Windows as instructed)
Am I using an outdated ROM image? I only got the device last Friday!
@chiark : the first thing todo is to replace the caller-id cab in the extended rom with the 1.20. So on on the next had reset, you don't have to uninstall/install again.
I don't know about how outdated the rom on your machine is. it might be that just the extended rom is older.
Thanks for the step by step.
I didn't know that this soft is called Caller Id.
^Working perfectly now
Thanks
Joao Caldeira
Thanks - I have yet to be brave enough to unlock my ROM to see what else I can fit in there... But yes, you're right, I really should do that!
Hello,
Does anyone have a french version of IA Caller ID 1.20 ? :roll:
Thanks.
Was caller ID 1.2 included in the latest Imate PDA2k Ext.Rom
I've updated... but don't have... if it was supposed to be there I have messed up something with the restore...
Can anyone tell me where I can get the latest cab version of Caller ID in german or english?
How do you find the version of Caller ID installed? I'm probably blind, but I can't see any obvious location...
Start -> Programs -> Photo Contacts -> Tools -> About
Right, no photo contacts app, so that would explain that...

GPS tracing on google earth?

I should be getting my new artemis tomorrow. Im off on holiday soon and im hoping that when you take a picture there is an option to log the gps coordinates so you can tell where I was taken. Maybe you can even import them into google earth????
If this isn’t possible maybe there is some 3rd party software. Or any other good gps tracing applications??
Soz if this has already been covered, I have had a look at previous post!!!
There are lots of apps which get GPS coordinates. These are mostly for some Bluetooth GPS devices as diagnostics software. The German .NET Magazine dotnet pro had an article about getting GPS coordinates. If you are familiar with .NET programming you could write an additional GoogleEarth export.
Alternatively you could look after some ready made tools.
Im really surprised that nobody else wants to do this on a pda especially as the Artemis has a built in gps receiver!!!
!
I have since learned that this is called geotagging and some digital cameras with now embed the gps coordinated onto the picture. Web sites like http://www.panoramio.com/ which make a kml file to view your pics in google earth.
At the moment tho i have to find these coordinates by using picasa 2
and using their geotag option but you still have to find the location manually on google earth
download picasa here: http://picasa-server.com/?s=yp_uk&OVRAW=picasa 2&OVKEY=picasa 2&OVMTC=standard
It would be so much easier to be able to just take a pic on the Artemis and have the coordinates automacally embedded on to the file!
Any new ideas????
I heard that the Dopod ROM has this feature (geo coding). So solution for other ROMs yet.
im quite happy with my rom at the mo, dont wanna mess about with it. But if thats the only way i might have to look into it
Here is the solution to activate the gps photo on the Artemis...
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\
create a new folder called P9 and then
"ProfileName"="GPS Photo"
"MainCamCaptSize"=dword:00000040
"Enable"=dword:00000001
"2ndCamSupportCaptSize"=dword:00000054
"MainCamSupportCaptSize"=dword:000002D4
"2ndCamCaptSize"=dword:00000040
"EnableRecLimit"=dword:00000000
"RecLimitSize"=dword:0000005F
"RecLimitedType"=dword:00000000
"EncodeFormat"=dword:00000003
"CaptureFormat"=dword:00000002
"Property"=dword:018013BD
"CaptureType"=dword:00000008
"ProfileName_0409"="GPS Photo"
or you can import with Resco the attached registry file.
Some friend tell me that they have on the registry the folder P9.
In this case you must only change the registry value Enable from 0 to 1
That is awesome, great that this can be done via registry. Wonder why htc disabled it per default.

Yes. This is correct when the last ROM you updated from was the Dopod one.
While we are at this let me share my findings:
1. You can improve the camera pictures (at least if you uped. from dopod rom as I did) by going to the ext.rom with total commander and running the cab CP_061025_P800W_CamAgentCab.enus. The pic quality of the plain PDAMobiz rom is worse than the htc or real Dopod one, with a yellow hue
2. The radio rom is not updated, so it inherits that of last ROM before you went to the PDAMobiz one
Cheers
anyone done this yet? im just about 2 try!
It works!!!!! if you upload your pics to http://www.panoramio.com they will then create a kml file to view in google earth!
Cheers guys!!!
Yes, it works!
If you start the camera application,m you have to choose a different Profile in the left top of the screen.
Choose the Camera-sign with the cross, so the phone tries to get a GPS-Fix.
If the fix is established, you can make a photo.
But is the any other possibility to use the new information in Google Earth as panoramio?

I've tried this and suceed to take photos. But how and where can I see them geo-referenced??
if you download googles free picture viewer/editor in properties you will find the coordinates. make sure that you have selected the gps mode on the camera it will flash up searching for gps signal.
GPS-mode in camera works great, thank you very much. However I've lost vibration function for incoming calls, probably coincidentally, but I'm not sure.

For the vibration function try to see in HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0\Script
you must have in the script a v with a number i.e v2 means vibrate for two second, or v0 vibrate always...

WM6, two things I miss from WM5

Hi!
I successfully upgraded my P3300 NOR to WM6 WWE, but there is some new "features" in WM6 that I don't appreciate that much:
1) In the message application the left soft button is changed from new to delete. This I find rather irritating because the majority of times I want to compose a new message, not delete one (I almost never deletes messages). I know there has been some discussion concerning this issues over in the hermes forum.
2) When writing a new text message (or e-mail for that sake) and you start typing in the to field, WM5 displayed a list of matches from your contacts that you could pick from, and the field populated itself with the right information. This is not happening on my device after upgrading, is it a setting that controls this behavior or do we have to hack something to accomplish this?
Any suggestions on how to solve these issues?
Regards,
PK
I know what you mean with the Delete in messages, its a right pain!
With regards to the contacts, mine kind of works, I use transcriber and if you write say A it comes up with the A's or some of them at the bottom of the screen.
If you click one it just inserts it after what you put, so for example you'd get To: A; Amy(m);
Which seems to kind of be a waste of time as you then have to go and delete the A bit?

Hi!
Thanks for reply! In WM5 (at least on my device) the item you picket from the list replaced what you already had wrote, so there the functionality made sense. If this is not true on WM6 then it's absolutely wast, as you pointed out.
Regards,
PK
On my device the thing with the contacts work just like in WM5... It does not work if i your Phonepad, but with the normal keyboard, a smal rectangualr pops up with the Result matching my already typed letters, i then can pick a contact and the device replaces my input with the number...
And the Thing with "Delete" instead of "New" is really a senseless change, although im usign the WM5 New Menu in my Today screen, where i can assign a Softbutton with "New..." and then creat a SMS, email, Task or Note, whatever you desire, so i never really go through the messaging -> new menu...

[App][Beta] ACR – Auto Call Recorder (Version 1.1 – 22/6/2009)

ACR – Auto Call Recorder
First a Warning! This application is not legal in all countries/states. Check first before you use this software as you could get into serious trouble in some areas.
This Application does what the title says; it records your phone calls automatically. It automatically detects when you are on an incoming or outgoing call and then records the conversation to the folder you specify. It saves the call as a file in the format of [Direction] [FileAs] [Phone Number] [Call Length]
Installation:
Copy the cab file to your device and execute it but double clicking on it in a program such as Explorer/Total Commander/Resco File Explorer. You can install the program to either the device or the storage card.
Next go to your programs folder and you will see a new Icon for Auto Call Recorder. Click on the Icon and the options for Auto Call Recorder will be displayed. Once you have chosen your options click the Enable Recording button on the File Tab and close the Options Program. That’s it you are now automatically recording any calls your device has.
Options:
File Tab
This tab has a button to enable and disable the call recorder. The effect is not instantaneous as the Options Program has to communicate with the Recorder Process so when you press the button give it a couple of seconds to update itself. I didn’t include the options in the recorder process to conserve resources so this is the trade off.
The File Tab also contains a Textbox for the path to save the files to. Some example paths are:
"\" Records to the root path of the device
"\Storage Card\" Records to the root of the Storage Card
"\Storage Card\Calls\" Records to the folder ‘Calls’ in the Storage Card.
Recording Tab
The recording tab contains the setting for the file to be recorded. First is the Wav format. This is either PCM or GSM6.10 PCM is a ‘raw’ wav format that will use about 1MB per minute. I have included this format for devices that do not support GSM6.10. The other format GSM6.10 is a ‘compressed’ Wav format and consumes approximately 30kB per minute. Obviously this is the preferred choice.
Bits per channel are either 8 or 16 bits. 16 bits is the preferred choice but I have also included 8 bits for slower devices.
Samples per Second are the number of samples taken each second. This is a matter of preference/device capability. The choices are 8000, 11025, 16000, 22050, 32000, 44100, 48000, 96000 and 192000Hz. If you have a slow device then you are better starting from the bottom and working your way up by testing to see which the best is for you. If you have a newer device then it is more a choice of how much space you want to use as the higher the number the more space the file will use. Also your device may not support the higher frequencies so I recommend starting with something like 48000Hz. If you set the frequency to high you will get gaps in your recordings.
Read Me Tab
This tab contains a small readme file and some credits. No settings.
Uninstalling:
To uninstall Auto Call Recorder disable recording in the ACR options first before uninstalling the Cab.
Devices:
This programs has been reported to work on the following devices:
Samsung Omnia, Sony Ericsson X1, HTC Kaiser, HTC Diamond, HTC Diamond 2, HTC Trinity, HTC Touch 3G, HTC Touch Cruise, HTC Touch HD
If your device is not in the list there is no harm in trying anyway. Please report back any success so I can add your device to the list.

1.1 Removed - Should be able to used by most non English roms.
1.0 Removed - First version. English only.
[App][Alpha] ACR – Outlook Import 2007
[App][Alpha] ACR – Outlook Import 2007
In typical XDA fashion you get not one but two for the price of none!
This is an application for Outlook that runs on Windows and not the PDA. Start the Application and put the path you used for calls on the device in the textbox and click the Import Calls button when your device is connected to the PC. It should then precede to imports all the calls from the device to Outlook under the contact used on the device. If it can’t find the contact it will store the call under ‘Unknown’. You can then use either the journal to look at the calls or open the contact and look at the ‘activities’ for the contact. To play the call just open the item and click on the link in the item.
WARNING! This program is far from finished. It’s only for those that don’t mind things going wrong. Also the program deletes all but the lastcall.wav file off the device when it has imported the files.
Anyway if you’re feeling brave and ACR is working for you then please do post any problems you might have if you try this.
It works on my Rhodium!
Thank you very very much!
I'll give it a try. Do you have some screenshots that you can post here?
Doesn't work with German ROM
Unfortunately, your program doesn't seem to work with German ROM. It always gives me a "directory not found exception", even if I use only "\" for the recording path. Maybe there are some language specific symbols hard coded? (For example, "Storage Card" is "Speicherkarte" on German devices).
Opps sorry I forgot not everyone in the world uses English roms. I can make you a German version pretty quickly if you can post the path for \Windows\Startup\ in German. I'll look into finding this path automatically via code in the next version though. Thanks for that.
\windows\startup in German
The equivalent to "Windows\Startup" is in German ROMs probably "Windows\AutoStart" (but there is also a folder "Windows\Autorun").
Thanks for your efforts!
Sorry I obviously can't test this. I look through the code and that was the only English string I could find. The installer adds some registry keys but I don't know if they would stop the program. Try this and if it doesn't work I'll get onto it tomorrow.
Not quite
Now, it accepts the path, but when you actually try to record a call, you get an "Unexpected Error in ACRBase.exe". So there seem to be some more issues...
I will be waiting patiently for an internationalized version, though

It doesn't go in italian rom too. When I start application, even if I dont' set directory where to save and leave the default directory, I get the error message "directoryNotFoundException". I've tried to look into the registry but I don't have found anything to change.
Any tip ??
gr8 work
is it support 2 way recording ?
This is one of things I missed most since I left my Palm OS Treo 650 for a Windows Mobile Touch HD. I was using a program called CallRec then. That program provided many advanced features including encrypted storage and very good noise filtering. You might want to check their site: http://www.qmobilsoft.net/Products/products.html.
Anyway, your program will probably fill the gap somehow, thankyou. I will try it now and report the results.
I just tested this app with a few calls and it works very good. Thank you very much.

By the way, one question: does it record every phone-call or onle the ones we wish?

WM 6.5 AutoComplete Recipients Not Working - Please Help!

I flashed my HTC Viva with pdaviet's 6.5 Rom (which is in all other ways totally cool) but now when I start an SMS or email I can no longer start typing the recipient's name in and have the phone search my contacts and auto complete the address or phone number. I have checked in my options Search All Address Books. Is there a tweak for this?
Thanks!
Susan
disable T9: http://www.fuzemobility.com/autocorrect-and-autocompletion-solved/
No Luck
Thanks for the suggestion but it doesn't solve my problem. Actually when my cursor is on the "to" line T9 is automatically disabled. The problem is that it does not allow me to begin typing a contact's name and then do an automatic lookup of my contacts for a suggestion. There is no suggestion at all. There is no attempt to retrieve the email address from my list of contacts.
Try another rom. I know that was a problem in some of the earlier 6.5 builds but all the roms I've used lately work correctly in that area.
Any Suggestions?
This is the latest ROM for pdaviet's 6.5 - Do you think I just try to go backwards?
try to change the onscreen input method to the default Windows keyboard and then see what happens. Some of the SIPs are not configured properly and that causes this issue. If that's the case install a new keyboard...and yes, the physical keyboard reacts the same as the set onscreen keyboard so changing it impacts both.
How Can I Change to Windows Default?
Can you tell me how? My input options read like this:
Touch Input Settings
English
Compact QWERTY
Full QWERTY
About
Under About I read
Touch Input for Pocket PC
Version 2.1 (Build 1916.2213 )
hehe...you're missing 'keyboard' which is stock sure it's not there? you can also try a custom keyboard like Happy Tapping Keyboard (it's on the same site I linked earlier)

It's not like you have your phone info in your signature. I can't suggest anything blind except to check in the threads of the particular phone you have.
To enable auto suggest recipients during sms, set the registry key
HKLM\System\Inbox\RecipientAutoComplete\MaxSuggestions
to any value greater than 0.
Thank you! I've been having this problem with my HD2!
