Need Softbank Mail App CAB - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Dear
I was looking long time in Google and forums and I couldn't find it (sorry), so I ask for it if any can post here.
-Works in WM6 flashed devices?
-Any translation to English available over there?
Thanks!
Sesaru

nobody have it?

don't think there is one. Softbank are very hard to get MMS working (if that's what you're after). Try looking for Itame's posts on here or the Upgrading Forum. He knows quite a bit about Sofbank!!

Softbank has MMS working on the X01HT some time ago. There is no English translation though. Download link for the MMS Cab is here:
http://mb.softbank.jp/mb/support/X/product/x01ht/ That works only of you stay with original Softbank ROM.
There are is an easier way though to have MMS functionality.

I know that Webpage. But you need to have a Softbank ROM to download the CAB, and I don't have one! That's the reason I'm asking for it.
Also, if anybody can post the "My Softank for X Series" URL maybe I can manage to Download it.
Thanks!
Sesaru
PS: About English translation, I know Asukal made one, but the link don't work (><)

How is S!Mail cab?
@chainbolt - How is the S!Mail program? I heard it was slow and stupid, so I never really tried it out. Is it worth trying? I am currently using MMSLite.

well, I have heard the same. As I am using a non-SoftBank Hermes here in Japan with an English ROM, I have never tried it. It anyway would not work on my Hermes because you need a Japanese based ROM to run it. I just download it out of curiosity. It's a big software package. I am using MMSLite (+ CEStar to get the Japanese fonts) without any problem since many months.

First I have to find the files, if I still have them, I could mail them to you.

mmslite versions
@chainbolt - sounds like we are in similar situations.
I wonder, which mmslite build are you using?
I am using 265 and it runs without locking up. I have used 275 as well, and like the extra options it gives, but have heard it locks up sometimes. Apparently there is also a 292 somewhere, but I haven't been able to find it. I have been googling around, but haven't run across it yet. Any opinions/experiences from your end on mmslite builds?

I am also using 265 +CeStar, works like charm. I have tried once 275, but it did not install properly. I think 265 is the most stable version.
By the way, I found the "SoftBank Mail.cab" . If somebody wants it here, give me your mail address.

Sure, I love cabs. Hit me at larsuck at hotmail dot com. Appreciate it.
The only difference I have found bewteen 265 and 275 is the following: Sometimes someone will send you an MMS using your phone number instead of your email address. In 265, if you reply using the number, it gives you a reply stating that POP3, IMAP accounts cannot be used to send SMS. In 275, it looks up the number in your contacts list and gives you the opportunity to change the number to an email address.
Also, upon further research, it seems that build 280 and 292 are malware of a sort. Apparently, people install them and they wipe the password to the Softbank connection - and that's all it does.
Sounds like pretty weird malware if you asked me, but that's the scuttlebutt.

Hey Chainbolt, think you could fire that cab file to me too at mechbase at hotmail dot com?
Much thanks in advance...

Nobody has this CAB? Please, put in RapidShare ...

Can someone please post this CAB?
I'd prefer not to send via email. Can someone post it, please? Thanks!

I have it, and I have mailed it already to the OP. I will definitely not upload software that I don't own.

Understood . . .
I understand. But I don't know why it is so hard to get. I don't speak/read Japanese well, and I have been struggling to find it through the web -- either on my PC or on my X01HT. I've never used "My Softbank" and I don't have a "My Softbank for X Series" favorite URL link in PIE anymore (I deleted all the preloaded favorites that I didn't think I would use). I found something that looked like My Softbank (it was mostly Japanese) on my X01HT, but it looked like the page was built for PC, not mobile phone . . . and it looked like I needed to enter a ID/PW. Do you have to enter a User ID to get into My Softbank for X series?

Address-autocompletion in WM6

Hi Folks!
Has anyone managed to get the To-Field autocomplete functionality in WM6 back to how it worked under WM5? Under WM5 it checked the name I typed into the To-Field against the Addressbook in "realtime" - under WM6 I now have to go into the Menu and select "Check Names".

I don't find anything negative in "Geek" and I would define myself as such but since I definitely did not mean to offend anyone and since It's sure that at least one person did take it that way I've changed my posting.
Lol, ok ok
My autocomplete seems to work fine on WM6. I start typing the name and i get a list automatically pop up so i can just click it. I get this for SMS and email. MMS unfortunately i still have to click to and then add names manually but then i had to do that with WM5 anyway.
Didn't really get offended, just having one of those days mate, sorry

No problem mate! But still I will not call anyone Geek anymore since it's apparently not for everyone as positive as for me.
Nope, only cabs i've installed from an ext rom are the ones that get video calling working.
Pretty sure that it was working before then though......
With WMXL v.20 coming soon (no doubt you'll be upgrading) you may want to try a hard reset or perhaps a reflash to see if your problem persists.

Caller Name display with Rogers on HTC S620

Ok guys, i need help.... I saw a LOT of threads regarding this issue, but I think i'm blonde, because i can't seem to make it work.... :-/
I'm with Rogers Canada and I just bought a HTC S620 unlocked with windows moble 6.... I see the number of the person calling, but not his name (and I do pay to get this service)
I know I can make it work by changing the values of the registry key, as I have read a couple of times in other forums, but... this is where i'm totally lost....
I'm on MAC, so I use Missing Sync to synchronize my phone, not Active Sync.... I tried downloading Mobie Registry Editor, as well as PHM Reistry Editor, but it does not seem to work (or i'm not doing the right thing...!)
Can anybody please tell me what i need to do (with a LOT of details LOL)
thanks a lot

Did you imported the contacts from your simcard to the contacts in the phone ?
I think that will help.
Yeah, the name display appears when one of my contact is calling, that's not a problem, but I want to have the name displayed when it's someboby OUTSIDE my contact list who's calling.... The number of the person appears, not his / her name (i do pay for this service and the name did appear with my old phone).... :-/

Your service might not support that so your name will not show up. It only shows up if it is in your contact... Many cell phone providers do not have this option....
Mine does I am 100% sure... and i have read on many forums that since this phone is unlocked and not "officially" supported by Rogers, I need to modify the registry in order for the name to be displayed....
check this thread....http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-367381.html
i just can's seem to figure out how to edit the registry, especially since i'm on mac...

The reg edits you pointed to seems as if no one got it to work anyway from what just read and i did read every link off and more.
This quote seems to make sense:
NotATreoFan:
If it works on the stock Rogers ROM, but not any others, one can conclude Rogers has some special software baked into their OEM ROM.

Actually Stylez I am using Ricky and your Rose 1.5 ROM and Rogers Name Display seems to be working with this version. I was never able to get it to work with the orginal WM 6.1 ROMs but it tis working in the Rose ROM.
For those who don't know Rogers Name Display is basically Caller ID for your cell. It will display the name of the caller even if they are not one of your contacts as long as the Rogers network can figure out who the caller is.

The guide to flashing is in sig too, also sorry about the confusion over gender
would by any chance have the link to the Rose ROW, the one I found and downloaded gives me an error message saying that a file is corrupted and it stopped the upgrade at 4% (thank god the phone still works....!) thanks a lot

Unclear how to install this one. Build_copy.txt has instructions where to copy files from certain folders from the zip archive, but zip archive you uploaded does not have any folder structure, so its just a bunch of files, i can only guess which files to copy...
Code:
a. Copy \Bin\*.* to \Windows
b. Copy \Media\Canned text\*.* to \Program Files\SoftBankMail
c. Copy \Media\Pictures\*.* to \My Documents\My Pictures
d. Copy \Media\Sounds\*.* to \My Documents\

it's from the x04ht dump. the program is resolution-independent except ArcMSGRes.dll. i simply unpacked all the images and icons in ArcMSGRes.dll, made the image size of them half and repacked them into ArcMSGRes.dll. as for emoji, i did not test it since i don't use it...

it's a package for cooking, not for installing as it is. i am sure someone can make a cab out of it. i did not write Build_copy.txt. it was included in the diamond dumped package from the beginning.
there is one thing i don't understand yet. s!mail is integrated as sms in diamond, not as email. i haven't found which part of the dumped rom does the job. so, if you cook it in your rom, it is regarded as an email account...
For cooking? I thought someone made this for testing on other devices, before real cab is made. Maybe we should ask someone with X04HT (or X05HT?) what files are in these folders mentioned in Build_copy.txt in order to make cab. On the other hand, there is one or two xml files in the ZIP, and from there one could get a clue where to put the files and what are required registry settings...
Other interesting stuff, this seems to be Arcsoft MMS client modified for SoftBank... Would like to try this on english ROM as soon as i find some time. Also, i plan to get X05HT soon, wondering if they packed the same thing there as well.

If you have a second quotter (you seem busy), could you answer me a couple of questions?
1) (How) does this handle emoticons?
2) Does this allow sending MMS to a phone number?
3) Are there any other benefits compared to MMSLite that I can't think of?

1) no. Emoji seems to be supported by an extention program, which i have not found yet.
2) yes, but opensoftbank connection will be used.
3) i don't know. what i am trying to do is making a hermes rom like opal. i simply want to share my findings with other qvga device users.
by the way, i found it will insert sms/s!mail options in dialpad, which could mess up your dialpad menu unless you use appropriate dialpad...

Yeah, but that sending MMS to a phone number is a big deal, for me at least. Almost everyone I know using Softbank uses MMS-by-number and as things are now it is a hassle to reply to them.
Just to let people know that the Softbank mail setup under Arcsoft blows mmslite out of the water (and absolutely murders the old Softbank mail app). I too am therefore hoping that a cab will be released soon..... looking forward to trying it on my x05ht as well, with an English rom. Now, only if the emoji problem could be solved...
To Zgembo: Only advantage of X05ht over the x01ht is the screen resolution. As it is the stock Softbank rom generally sucks; it just seems a lot slower than the old x01ht, although it can be tweaked a little (not much though). Really, this is more due to crippled drivers it seems; so blame it on htc. See here before deciding whether to upgrade. Note: the Diamond and Touch Pro HD also suffer from the same problems.

yep, that was one of mmslite's weaknesses. I also hated having to copy the senders number from mmslite and then paste into the sms app to send a reply..... :-(

I was reading about X05HT's stock ROM crappyness, but who would like to stick to stock ROM anyway? Also, being Linux guy, it is really tempting, considering what some guys had achieved with Android on Hermes & Diamond so far. But the real reason for switching is that my X01HT is all but literary falling apart, the poor thing...

Yeah, but there are no graphics drivers for it, so it is more like using windows in safe mode. Does not matter which rom you use. Who knows if this will ever be fixed or not? (I am pissed off, because even flashed roms are slower than my Hermes was; GPS doesn't lock properly, music skips, etc).

you cannot install "this" package on any vga devices since i changed the resolution of all the images. just use the same package retrieved from x04ht/x05ht. for english roms, just make *.0409.mui's for the apps. shouldn't be much difficult since i have been making tons of *.0411.mui's to make full-japanese wm6.1 roms for my x01ht and polaris.
as for emoji, this "app" supports it on x04ht/x05ht. this "package" does not since the emoji function is supported by something else than the package.
I look forward to updates on this thread...
In the meantime, for those who want to send MMS by a softbank number there is an easier way to do it. Save the message you are writing into the Drafts folder, navigate to the folder, then move the message to the Outbox. It will send automatically (at least does on build 303 JP).
If anyone is skilled in writing mortscript it could be convenient here

Hey there,
I got a softbank X05HT from Japan, had to unlock it so it would work in Australia, HardSPL'd it, flashed a new ROM now I was looking for the Softbank ROM again so my girlfriend can use Japanese on it - can anyone direct me to the standard ROM for Softbank please?
EDIT: Actually, I'f prefer it to be in English so I can try to fix it when it has a cow from time to time... but she has many friends back home she's more inclined to keep in touch with... I've got NTAF's ROM and installed the Jap cab... but too hard to work it... probably rather have original ROM and add and English cab to it.. ta

problem with sending textmessage

I've got a new problem with my pro2.
It seems that when i'm getting a textmessage and i write an answer... in the little box down the window you see on this picture: [click for image of window]...
it will send.. no problem... (to the phonenumber: +31612345678, thats good)
but when i then send another textmessage to the same person again, in the same box as earlier, and i don't got an answer yet the pro2 shows that the message is send, but when i look at the phonenumber its changed automatic. it must be +31612345678 but then it is 31612345678 without the +... so the message is not send...
how can i solve this?
NOt a real solution, but dial two zero's "00" instead of the + sign. Though it should work with the + character
Same here! I was wondering why I didn't get a reply from the message I thought I was sending...now it's obvious.
Need a hotfix FAST!
As a business user this is totally unacceptable!

I don't think that will help, and i'm not going to change all my phonenumbers, because the + caracter must work to.
i'll try later this day with one person.
Have you checked that your locale is set correctly and not on the shipped default (which is usualy US)

Hmm, that's all ok. So that don't caused the problem... any more solutions anyone?
The contact manager has an option to auto set the phone number.
If I (still my hermes for now) add this number 0612345678 my contact manager makes it: +31612345678
Maybe it's something with this settings of auto managing the number format. Don't give this solution much chance though
Hi i'm xperia user, with a rhodium ROM, the newest one Build 21051.1.6.4, and we (all users) have this same problem too. Even in prevorius rom version i had problem with it. The problem is in HTC roms. I think u neet to wait for a update.
Or u can ask user name Smaberg, i heart that hi solved this problem, but hi had to change some entries.

Thanks, i've send smaberg a private message. hopefully he knows the answer. strange problem!
Your buddy John might appreciate it if you edit your original message to remove his direct number from the forum.
EDIT: Hah! I'm dumb. I just noticed that it was a dummy number! I'll shut up now.
Hahahahaa, youre funny
hmm not found a solution yet! ... anyone else maybe?

Ah! i've got a reaction of smaberg! (It's for the X1 officially but i think/hope it will work to on the TP2, because it are both WM phones...) but i can not test it now...
my plan is to test it somewhere tomorrow (sunday)... i will post the results, and the answer here if i know more!
i've tested it, but the problem is still there.
I still have the same issue as well, weird no solution is available huh...
I've added a poll let's see how many people there are with the problem
you should notify HTC support - they really DO read the messages they get - describe it good, and you will get response.
How can i contact them? there website is not very clear about that

The letter recognizer input function. Check this link http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/raeburn-jan04-onspot-1.gif
Oh I see... Damn do u actually use it?! I have never seen any1 using it...
I use it for almost anything. It is so fast! And btw I miss it too. I tried some cabs from other places on this forum, but they didn't work for me. I have the EnergyRom installed.

It's really good. I like it very much. But so bad that I'm using Miri WM 6.5 which doesn't support Transcriber.
I'd also like to know how to get it activated on WM 6.5
Anyone got an update on this, I would really like to have it back!
It seems that it's not supported in the new ROMS.
if anyone is asking, I am using too, especially when I write long emails (which I sometimes do with my blackstone, this is why it's a smartphone). I flashed a 6.5 ROM, which I love, but I don't have letter recognizer and transcriber. If anyone has a solution, please share
This file should enable letterrecognizer.
Notice this will enable only if your device is WWE. For other languages you should change msim.dll to msim_x.dll, which x stands for the language (eg. nl for dutch). You can also look in the windows folder for the exact name of the dll-file.
If the registry script not work, you can enable letterrecognizer by manually adding the keys with an editor.
