[Updated v1.5.2] FuN_KeY's ROM based on new 3.62ROM with 3G (OS 5.2.1622 18128.0.4.4) - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Hi
Rom 3.62 is no more based on Pandora. I have used ROMDonald's to do the cooking by hand.
Great thanks to mattk_r, bepe, and all the other guru's who allowed me to build myself a ROM that perfectly fit my needs.
I also want to thanks claymen who kindly mirrored all my release!

OS only, should have been more precise

I'd like to hear about anyone that has successfully run this before I give it a work out. Anyone?
Mark

Minor update to 1.1 (added functionnalities, no bugfix)

I am running it
I have loaded it and running it for the past 20 hrs and it looks fine for me. You all should excuse me, I am not good writer and am sure wont do justice for this ROM if I try to write a review.
I used to run Schap's 3.54c before loading Fun_Keys rom. I noticed that this Rom gives me more Program memory than 3.54c, I have installed Resco Radio, Pocket Weather, News Break, Total Commander, Avinasoft Calling Card and Microsoft Live Search app. I have TZones $5.99 plan so I cant use the built in HTC Weather and thats the reason for having Pocket Weather. I have setup Push mail on the device and receive mails heavily on a regular basis. I regularly use all the apps mentioned above, as a matter of fact after loading the rom and setting up all my apps I have used all the apps more than once and didn't reset the device in 20 hrs and have 16.79 MB program memory left.
My only gripe would abt the Extended Rom. There is no sign of it in the Rom as mentioned Fun_Keys. I tried to go to \\Extended_Rom from Total Commander and it took me nowhere, it doesn't even show up in the Device Info app.
I haven't update to the 1.1

You can use advance configuration to unhide&unlock it. The ext rom is still present, as I don't use bepe's trick to merge it with the main ROM
I think this is safer this way; some people reported instability after some days with the merged ext_rom

Not bad at all...
I've just tried it out and it seems not too bad at all... pretty damn fast compared to my last Black Magik ROM, although the initial Black Magik boot screen is still there
So far - very good, thanks!

This is an OS only upgrade, splashscreen remain untouched. You *should* be able to build your own splashscreen through this guide.
But I haven't created any splashscreen since the animated one came out; can't say how it really works.

Thanks for the tip, I will take look... I don't want to ruin the animated HTC one tho. Do you have a static screen capture of the HTC splash screen so that I can simply make them the same? (sorry, straying off topic...)

Here is the .gif of the startup animation, I'll maybe manage to do something with it as soon as I have some spare time.

Hey Fun_key thanks for this update.
Its comes the closest to the system I need.
Running for a day now and no lockups or resets needed so far.
CHeers

Thank you
Really stable, so thx

Looks Good
I think I'll have to try this...any notable performance differences to vp3G 3.0?
I've really like V3.0, all is good except I have had some odd and spotty Internet connection issues that are probably not related to your OS, just curious if you've experienced anything like it or if V3.60 might help.
It usually goes like this, after the first boot-up of the day when I attempt to connect to Internet using PIE or Resco Radio, after spinning for a bit the connection is not made and a long, generic "can't connect to wap.cingular..." message is displayed. Soft reset always fixes it and the problem doesn't return the rest of the day. It doesn't happen every day.
I've swapped out various radios (1.48, 1.50 and 1.51), and tried different Comm Managers. I'm currently using the Kaiser-like 9-button manager and radio 1.48. Also, the spot where I live is Edge which is the network that the initial boot-up occurs, and when I connect to the Internet it's usually 3G. So I suspect the issue is a combination of the network transition and Comm Manager.
TIA
thank you very much

The CE 1260 build seems faster to me, yes. Best feature of the T-Mo ROM married with the AT&T build... what could be better, eh?
Active Sync problem
I updated to your latest ROM, but now my activesync does not recognize my 8525. I tried everything possible, short of flashing to my older version of ROM. Can you help?
I have HTC 8525, running Hermes_WM6_WWE_vp3G_v3.60.0_ATT_Full. I am not able to connect to my PC to upload the rest of the CAB program posted here.
Please advice ASAP. Thank you.
I'm new to this. I have your old version 3.0... Do I just install this version on top of the old one... Do I have to do anything more? Thanks and great work.

I recommend against updating... this version is slower than the previous, especially at boot. you will also have problems with ActiveSync... I don't care what anyone says... This version needs lots of work b4 someone claims it to be the best.
My 2 cents...

Just connect to your activesync and click on the new Rom file... it will do the rest... I would do some more reading b4 attempting to upgrade..
Good luck..
I had the old version of this one... And I just tried the TnT 2.0 and I just install this one... This one isnt as fast as the TnT, but it is more stable. The TnT sometime freezes up and have to reset it... This one on the other hand doesn't. It's a keeper... And for the sync problem... ? None... unplug and replug if it dont work. =) Dont think it has n e thing to do with the OS...

I noticed that after the first boot it was lightning fast, then I installed an app (wm5torage) and after the reboot, it took like 5 mins to get back to the today screen. I did a hard reset, tried just rebooting several times and it was slow. I let it sit for 30 mins, tried again and it was fast and fast ever since. Im wondering if there was some startup config apps still running. Ive now got all my apps loaded and its running great. I haven't tried activesync yet as I only run Linux at work. There is a Windows machine nearby, I'll dl AS and test.
Edit: Im running vp3G 3.60.0 Full. 8 hrs after install, everything is still fast and working excellent. I notice HTC Home plugin loads/unloads way faster when tweaking the Today Items settings.

Did you go to start>settings>connections>USB to PC>Uncheck Enable advanced network functionality. ??? If not it will mess up your sync...
YES! A new version!!
vp3g, so what is the easiest way to go from v3.0 to this one? Should I just do a PIM Backup, and then reflash?

I'm in the slow boot phase. Did great with initial install. Now slowed to a crawl and hanging on reboot at splash screen. I'll wait it out and see if it calms down and runs better.
Please include install method when posting...
If you post regarding an issue, please include which route you chose during initial installation (i.e., "Full", "Lite" or "Ultra-Lite").
Thanks!

I never recommend trying to restore a backup from one ROM to the next, although with this one you may be able to get away with it as there aren't huge changes in the imgfs from v3.0. Only one way to find out...

awwwwwwwwwwww damn!!! I love the 1st version...im gonna flash as soon as I get a chance...!!!!

This is Release V2.5 however it is not the final release. Please report all bugs and if you know how to fix them post how to fix the bug. Once I have all the kinks worked out in the ROM, I will build a newer version that includes the fixes. V2.5 has fixed all reported bugs to date. See known issues above in post #1.

I can't remember. The only reason I'm posting this here is because I can't include the Diamond TomTom7 over at PPCGeeks.
if you guys haven't tried this rom... DO IT. It's awesome.
D-HAR-VEY!!!!! This ROM looks amazing, can't wait!!! Any idea on when it will be completed? Also, thanks for the help over at PPCGeeks!
Also, where there be any way to remove certain apps after flash? Will you have the new version of Total Commander, 2.5?
Any chance of adding SIPChange or Internet Sharing?
Thanks!

I've tried it by it seem to be slow to me, I personally don't like the winbar but I like the new the vista look and a lot of nice applications. I wish I could have the Cab for those programs.
The ROM already includes interent sharing and sip change.
The links will be up later(hopefully tonight or tomorrow). I had used the 3.02 Sprint ROM build 19588 as a base and it worked great but I am working on V3.0.
It will use the Sprint 3.03 ROM build 19208 with ported Diamond SYS.
It is gonna take some time to get the kinks worked out in V3.0 because the cube doesn't seem to be compatible with the new base ROM.
I don't sleep since I'm super human so you don't have to worry, I'm seriously working on it.
Found you!
Dan,
So glad to have found you here! I had waited to install the VZW specific version on PPCGeeks since there were some known issues early on. I decided to go ahead and take the plunge once I got home. Lo and behold! The links were gone
I love this ROM - MUCH faster than anything else I've tried - and I've tried several.
Thanks for all your hard work!

Sweeeeet! This will mark the 2nd ROM I've flashed, so one question. I've of course already run ImCokeMan's Unlocker from before and it's still unclocked, I think, so do I need to do anything else except run the RUU?

You need the Vogue 2.31.coke unlocker. At the top of Post #1 there is a link to my Consolidated Rev. A/GPS tutorial over at PPCGeeks. You can download it there. As long as you have a 3.XX radio already then all you will need to do in order to flash my ROM is to use that unlocker.

If you sort the icons into folders it will look like this now:
IF YOU WANT MANILA CHECK THIS POST[/B] (There are problems with wm6.5.1, you will need to disable manila, soft reset, enable manila to make it boot! and you will need e-native position fix to make the position right!)
If you want a nice taskbar, try aluke's wm6.5.1 taskbar!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IF YOU HAVE FREEZES/HARD RESETS/STRANGE PROBLEMS USE MTTY AND IF STILL PROBLEMS UPGRADE TO HARDSPL 1.93 (tutorial here, thanks to MG)
if you cant boot the phone now because of problems just download the diamondcustomruu, put it together with the diamimg.nbh file into a folder, put the diamond into bootloader mode(softreset+volume down) and run the diamondcustomruu.exe. Of course do this after MTTY(or flash stock rom) or you will have same problem.

I have no honeycomb in the start menu!
Microsoft dropped honeycomb start menu. You can change your start menu by using showaco startmenu (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=481379)
How do I install this on my diamond?
Make sure you have installed OliNex Unsigned Hard-SPL (1.93.OliNex works fine).
Copy the .nbh (it should be diamimg.nbh, if not rename it) to the root of your internal storage, then hold volume down and the back key while you press the red reset button with ur stylus, keep it held till you enter bootloader mode. Hard reset after the install. More info on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211, and you should read it to make sure you know what you are doing.
Why slide to answer is not showing like in your picture?
The winmo 6.5 beta only shows slide to answer when locked. You can activate autolock feature with BsB AutoLockScreen.cab, that way you will get slide to answer in almost every call. Another options are using Chobit Company SmartLock to autolock or S2U2 for a complete slide to answer soft.
This ROM have Radio or not?
Not.
What Radio is best for this ROM?
Its up to you to test it. Radios can be better or worse depending on your location, so can’t really help you with my suggestion. Go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470306 and make a choice.
RAM Sweeper closes my APP!
Go to program files\Ram Sweeper and edit RamSweeper.txt. Add a new line with your APP name.
How do I configure the TitaniumWeather for city?
Go to http://www.accuweather.com, search your city and once you get to forecast page check the browser URL. Should have something like: locCode=…
Use the loccode to configure your city on TW setup.
Why can't i make a video call?
Winmo 6.5 beta doesn’t support video call yet. Meanwhile you can install HTC dialer or phone canvas to make video calls, but i dont recommend it since it will produce ring delays, too much ram usage etc...
My phone hard resets when doing soft reset!
a) update hardspl to 1.93
b) read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=490182
c) bloated device: Flash a stock Rom (from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471699&highlight=hellonasty) and then come back to this one.
What does I H G F E D versions mean please ?
Those are the version numbers. First you had A, then B, then C...
DIAMOND tf3d config.v0.6.7 is not working with your manila download.
It should work but if it doesn’t, it's because of the new manila version. Either use an older manila or ask the creator of the program to give support for this version.
I’ve changed winmo theme and the dialer didn’t change!
The dialer isn't part of the theme. Check this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3911940&postcount=1807
will I loose all my contacts if i install a ROM?
Yes, you would lose them. If you want not to lose them just sync it with Microsoft Office Outlook on your PC and after re-flashing you can sync it again with your phone. If you do not use outlook, you should consider to save all your contacts into google contacts and sync them with google sync service. Or now you can use Microsoft My Phone wich works perfectly!
What is Linterna??
It's a flash light application, when you're in the dark you can turn it on to have more light
Blah blah newbie blah blah help me blah blah pleeeaase?
I will help you if you help yourself and search before ask. Please do not pollute the thread with questions already answered. For newbies, be aware that you could end up with a nice black brick if your flash procedure fails. SEARCH & READ, then ask. Thanks.

Ya, something is wrong with google maps. probably is just the .lnk cos i could start it from /windows folder.
Nodata works perfectly, it gave you an error because you dont have an internet connection configured so it gave you a nullreference exception.

[ROM][WWE][6.5.x][23133][Sep 2, 2010] ralphusion **RaL.GT1K** Lite ROM

This new ROM is a clean slate ROM and the first batch of my own cooked kitchen set with utensils et al, merged, sorted and built from scratch. With a number of speed tweaks to further increase the speed of this ROM, I've also added some enhancements like Auto Date/Time Picker from Cell site, Unattended Installation upto 2nd Boot, Full support for XDAUC with a multitude of user customization options. I'll be working on more mods and enhancements with future builds.
I need to mention that that I was earlier using l3v5y's kitchen for all ROMs before version GT1G and has been an inspiration and guide for some time now. Of course the likes of Da_G will always be in our mentors list.
I would also like to extend my thanks to Makeveral (incredibly efficient BsB ROM and his useful apps), Mr Makk (awesome tutorials), Ervius (kitchen) and yozgatg (packages and Android Bootloader) for their extended work in XDA, and last but not least, all users of my ROM who have given me valuable inputs and feedback, needless to say without which I wouldn't have been able to get anywhere with my ROMs.
Before I make this sound like an Oscars speech, here goes the latest ROM.

So folks, version K finally here after a long hiatus. K has some noticeable bug fixes, some minor new adds, apart from which it is pretty stable as always. Do note that there might still be some minor quirks (like some bottom icons not showing in the edit contact screen). Unfortunately I really haven't had the chance to look into them.
Amongst the noted fixes though, we have the scroll wheel working now, it skipped my earlier build for reasons unknown. The auto rotate which was never really in good books with me, works throughout the device now thanks to Zensor 2 which has been added as a UC option. There are other minor pieces which improves performance as well as an experimental game fix which I picked from the forum but haven't tested yet, which attempts to fix some of the games reported to not work. A revert on the OpenGL drivers should pay providence to some of the reported OpenGL apps not working too (although I haven't tested them either).
All in all this ROM should be a better ROM (not all that different though) than the previous ones. Let me know how it goes.

Answering or Rejecting an incoming call (while the screen is locked) takes over 10 seconds to activate. - PF
Miscelleneous Bugs
(GT1e) Auto-rotate doesn't work in Album - it seems to force landscape mode - Fixed (UC) in GT1F
(GT1e) Auto-rotate doesn't work in Opera - this is set to portrait - Fixed (UC) in GT1F
(GT1e) In Opera, clicking on a Youtube link opens Album and then says not supported - Fixed in GT1F
(GT1e) In Titanium, Import Favorites button links to Opera 9.x and not 10, hence throws an error - Fixed in GT1F

Fix Schedule (LEGEND):
UC - Will be provided as a UC option in the next release
FF - Will be fixed in the next release (question my morals if I don't)
OP - Open Issue
PF - Partially Fixed
Workarounds:
Lock Screen issue:
Both of the above eventually do work, but its pretty annoying. Do note that Hard buttons for answer and ignore work as expected even if the screen is locked (during an incoming call). I tried playing around with previous build's lockscreens, editing some .cpr files, trying out tommy & mindfrost's fixes etc. (there are some more fixes available in the forum) and I've had some luck in getting this naggy issue somewhat fixed. At the moment I've used a combination of 2-3 methods to get it to partially work. It may not be 100% working, but there are some workarounds. Some of these are:
1) Volume Keys
While your screen is locked, use your volume up or down keys. The volume popup should show. Click the OK button. Your lock screen should be active now and you will be able to slide to unlock. After you have done so, lock your screen again, try and call back from your second phone. You should be able to slide to answer or ignore.
2) Bottom Left corner method: (suggested by fono)
This works almost instantaneously. While the screen is locked (and you wish to unlock it), click the bottom-left corner (not the extreme corner but just besides it), and then try sliding the unlock button (or answer/ignore buttons). It works instantaneously.
3) Password Lock:
This is simpler to do but not many of us prefer a password lock. Goto Settings-Lock, Check "Prompt if phone unused for" and enter a password. With this enabled, the sliders seems to work seamlessly for some reason.
4) Install Phone Canvas or Alternate Lock apps
a) Qilin Phone Canvas (download) OR any other
b) An alternate lock screen application (quite a few available in the forum)
I'll continue to look for a solid answer to this. Please feel free to advise me on the same if you find a solution.
Downloads (Apps, Widgets, Themes etc)
MSN Money (download) - two files in the .rar; Extract, Install the cab first and then run the .wgt file
Qilin Phone Canvas (download)
Ez21Settings Popup - for GT1G and later ROMs (download) (Note: GT1G does not have Ezinput installed by default. You will need to install the cab separately from Nikonz, Amarullz etc. This cab will only allow you to bring a popup to select Full Qwerty, Compact Keypad, Phone Keypad and Input Settings)

This is a known bug and seems to trouble most of the com3 and com4 builds with Sense 2.1 OR 2.5 cooked into the ROMs.
Try this workaround (this most certainly works):
Deselect HTC Sense from Settings-Home-Items, hit OK
Soft-reset[/B]
Enable HTC Sense upon reboot
If any chef has a better workaround for this in the newer builds please do advise. I've tried playing with the pagepool (currently 10MB in this ROM) but to no avail.

Yep, that did the trick!
Seems to be working fine so far. Also very quick! One little thing: My provider settings weren't downloaded automatically...

Noted. I included a rhodium mgr & db, which seems to be broken. I'll try and fix this in the next release. (added to bug list)
It's nice to see a new Chef in the Diamond forums. Welcome and I will be following this ROMs progress.

After restarting my Diamond, Sense couldn't be started again. Also after I did CleanRAM it was unable to start...
Yesterday I also had some memory warnings, even with only a few applications running.

Unfortunately Sense (both 2.1 & 2.5) has this persistent uncanny behavior on COM3 & 4 builds. It takes far too much of resource space on the program stack. I've used a few ROMs for diamond with similar issues and the only workaround seemed to be the disable-sreset-renable method. For sure there is a better workaround to get this playing smoothly on the newer builds. I'll keep reading up and play around by pulling down some memory hoggers. I'm working on a reloc method as well to free up some program memory on the base ROM, which should hopefully give us some more breathing space on the Diamond.
Personally, I've never been a real fan of Manila. Not because the UI ain't good, but generally because it doesn't seem like a very efficient code base. Things can only get better though and I'll keep trying to make the experience better.
Can you tell me more about the applications you installed on your Diamond post flashing? I know for a fact that most video dialers take over 5MB of program memory and that eats up the already hogged up Manila's stack.
No additional applications were installed.
After the phone froze up a couple of times today (different circumstances; Had to remove the battery to get the phone back to life), I've decided to remove your ROM...
When it ran, it was very fast and looked promissing, so keep up the good work!

Noted! Thanks for the feedback prinsclaus. I've noticed a couple of freezeup on the mail client (poutlook) which needed sresets, but the occurrence remained unfrequent. Can you confirm that you used mtty before flashing?

Over a 100 downloads and very few feedbacks received. Please feel free to post your woes guys. That's the only way I can improve on the ROMs.

[ROM-WWE][WM6.5.5][23549] 19-3-2010 NorgzRom Titanium - R1.6U1 - Closed Thanks to all

So my diamond died, i now have a topaz (diamond 2) and soon a hd2. look out for my roms for these devices.
thanks to everyone for the support on this rom, hopefully if/when you upgrade you can try out my Diamond2/topaz rom and/or my new HD2 roms. (loving the freedom on this hardware, highly reccomend the TMobile HD2!)
For those using my rom, if there is any change you wish i can still work on that, i may look at doing some blind builds with newer branches.
Ok, so here it is, after a few weeks of "playing" with roms i have what i think will be my first reasonable rom.
Titanium build with GenY Dual Boot, FingerKB2, Opera 10, S2U2 2.33, Facebook 1.2 and Google Maps 4 with Buzz + Titanium 7 Project
Lite has titanium only - rom is only 83mb! shold be nice and fast with tons of spare space and ram

I'll pm you the near latest USB-PC ext package. Just include that in one of your EXTs.
On the theme part, you don't really need to set a reg entry. All you need to do is put this line in your config_operator.txt
Code:
TSK: \WINDOWS\themefilename.tsk
And then make sure you have "any one" of RunCC, Autorun or Sashimi enabled. On first boot, these application will run and the line above will assign your theme as default.
I use RunCC coz it works for me. You can also use these customization tools to install cabs on first boot.
Code:
CAB: \WINDOWS\cabfilename.cab
thanks for the info, back into the kitchen i go lol

Hi norgan,
your ROM is awesome, all relevant stuff is running. And I think it is much faster than 23541.
When you go for Sense 2.5, don't forget Titanium. We have a lot of Sense 2.x ROMs here for the Diamond, but not enough rock solid Titanium ROMs.

Thanks mate, I have some tuning to do before bringing sense into the mix. I am also looking at integrating JMLToday to provide a more funtional Titanium. I must admit i am a bit of a titanium fan myself anyway.
If i can work out how i will make 1.4 or 1.5 to be titanium with JMLToday and the black dusk theme. It makes a nice info and clock panel similar to a compact sense clock page.
+1 For sense 2.5
Next job is sense, shouldn't be too hard.
Let me know what you guys thinkg of the win7 titanium project look. do you prefer standard titanium or the larger look of win7 project?
Hi norgan,
you deserve the feedback, so you get it
I installed 1.4 which went flawless like 1.3, but overall the ROM lost a little bit if its responsiveness. It feels a little bit more slow than 1.3. Don't get me wrong, 1.4 is still fast... but 1.3 was faster
I had a problem with the Comm Manager, where I was not able to enable WiFi. Everything happens but no WiFi... looks like something is screwed up here. In the end I was able to enable WiFi via "Start | Settings | Connections | WiFi". The important things like Exchange 2010 EAS is working well.
In the moment I use "gchris Titanium V1.3" from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=642742 as Shell, but the Win7 Titanium project is nice too.
