How to add WiFi and Bluetooth buttons like in Vanilla 2.0 ROM? - P3300, MDA Compact III ROM Development

Hello!
Please take a look at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335674
On the first screen shot of the Vanilla 2.0 ROM there are two buttons: WiFi: Off and Bluetooth: Off.
Is it possible to turn in/off WiFi and Bluetooth by these buttons or is it just information?
If it is possible to turn on/off the connections by these buttons, is there a possibility to add these two buttons to other ROMs? To original ROMs?
Where can I get these buttons? How can I add them to another ROM?
Thanks in advance
Nelix123

This is a today plug in from O2. I 'm sure you can find it here in XDA by searching.
No you can not turn on/off WiFi and Bluetooth by these buttons. If you click it comm manager pops up to turn them on/off.

Toggle WiFi On-Off

Hello All,
Any good tip (shortcut/patch/tweak/app) to toggle WiFi On-Off?
Thanx
SiperX
Battery Status - Tray launch
What procedure to follow?
Battery Status...? How?
Could you indicate the path to create a shortcut with traylaunch?
Will the icon on Today actually toggle WiFi on-off?
Thanks,
SiperX

Hey SiperX
Just do the following with BS...
Options -> Tab "TrayLaunch" -> Mark "TrayLaunch" and "Active / Path to program... and you should see Wifi in the list there under, click ok.
And on your Todayscreen you'll see all the apps you've add on the bottom of the screen ;-)
I had an old BS version...
Thanks CoolGadget!
Now with the new version of BS it is all clear...
Despite the new version of BS offers a variety of cool features the actual WiFi toggle on-off is not performed (like for ex. the app " Cicle BT" does for the BT on-off).
Anybody has another tip/patch/app/tweak to actually toggle (activate ~ deactivate) the wireless function?
(I mean: One tap WiFi goes on, the next tap WiFi goes off)
Thanx,
SiperX
Hi SiperX, I use AEButon plus to switch wifi on and off, Button 1 is mapped to it. One press wifi on/off, double press bluetooth on/off. Plus it is great for loads of other cool stuff to make the artemis really easy to navigate one handed. One point though with black&blue v2 I have to first time after a soft reset turn wifi on with com manager but after that initial operation I can then just press button 1 to toggle wifi and bluetooth.

same here. I use AEButon plus to map my hardware buttons. I mapped the comm button to
one press - wireless on/off
two presses - Bluetooth on/off
3 presses - Comm Manager
Thanks to both of you
Guys thanks for the suggestion: That sounds more like the app I was looking for!
I'll try it out and let you know.
Thanks again.

Put display off, how to?

I'm looking for a way to put display off WITHOUT put device in standby mode.
If I push on power button device goes in standby and all interfaces are disabled (gps, usb, ecc..).
Any suggestions?

I use Laurentius L26 V2.2 and I can use Navigon after switching off the display via power button and I´m sure the other ROM I was using did it the same way. Using WiFi while in standby you can enable/disable using tools like advanced config

Hi,
this is a good starting point.
ActiveSync and ModemLink work!
Otherwise GPS still goes off!!!!!!!
Why this? Is there something to configure in registry?

First of all what GPS program are you talking about here?
Why you need to switch off screen while gps is working
Because main reason for gps program is finding or recording roads while you are seeing its performance on screen.

I'm using Sygic and TomTom7.
Reasons are two:
- to lower as much as possible the battery drain...
- disable touch screen. If I put device in lock also with screen on gps goes off!
I need to use device only as POI alert. I tried also some POI alert dedicated software but with no results... gps is always put off.

[APP]SVMPowerMgr 2.0 - Power comm. utility

Hello.
This is the "reloaded" of SVMPowerMgr 1.0.
With this app. You can:
- turn off the screen of Your device
- put the device in suspended mode
- soft reset the device
- turn off the device (HTC devs.).
- turn on/off wifi
- turn on/off phone module
- turn on/off bluetooth (make discoverable/invisible)
- switch phone bands Auto-2G-3G
You also can create 7 shortcuts to the program with parameters:
0 - turn off the screen of Your device
1 - put the device in suspended mode
2 - soft reset the device
3 - turn off the device(HTC devs.).
4 - turn on/off phone module
5 - turn on/off wifi
6 - turn on/off bluetooth
somethig like this
[simbols count]#"[path to program]SVM Power Mgr.exe" [parameter]?[path to icon file you want to use],-[icon index]
You can change the images of backrounds button separator and buttons, they will be located in "Images" folder after install. With one restriction: now the buttons are black, so if you change the back of main program, consider this ...
Remarks: To close the main window you must tap anywhere outside the buttons or in space between buttons. Also to close additional windows tap the Close button or empty space of window.
P.S.
On/off bluetooth works well on Microsoft and Broadcom stacks, but discoverable/invisible mode for bluetooth is working just on Microsoft stacks, on broadcom is to be developped
P.S.S.
Supported screen resolutions: QVGA (240x320), Square (240x240), SquareQVGA (320x320), VGA(480x640), Square VGA (480x480), WVGA (480x800)
Regards.
Seems really useful. Gonna try it with powerbutton long press
Looks promising....will give this a whirl...thx
hello and thaks. i am looking for something like this.
happy new year
Looks useful... Gonna try it.
Thanks for sharing.
Best regards
It looks awesome. Will give it atry on my phone.,..
Looks great, thank you very much!
It works but there is no icon on each button on my HD. Using stock ROM
Works great on my Diamond. The only thing that does not work is the 3G and 2G switch, which I assume is because I am on CDMA. Would it be possible to get the button to switch from Ev (3)G to 1x? Good work.

Hi,
I'll try to find a way for this.
Best regards.
Error
For my device it can do almost all it promises including turning off the gsm but turning it on or switching between 2G/3G does nothing except gives me a dialog box named "Warning!" that containins the sentence
"The Phone status can not be switched."
Also turning the gsm and 3G on/off with HTC comm manager works just fine but as soon the gsm gets turned off by svmpm the HTC one also looses control over the gsm module (including 3G switch). I love your tool but how to get over this case?
I've got a feeling that this app has one of the best forum-replies per downloads ratio. I mean people just use it and don't complain. So great app when mapped to a comfortable hardkey. My issue was rare, so download it!
Hello and thanks for the program. I have instaled in my HD and mapped to one of the home bottom button. I have an spasnish stock ROM 1.56 and the final button doesn´t work and I would want to link it to another application like mylight. How can I make this?
Thanks for this applicatin
Missing icons
The app functions correctly for me, but the icons are missing (the text for each button are present). Anyway to bring the icons back?
Thanks
MEG
HTC HD2
Thanks a lot.
A very useful app for my GPS guided treeking.
works very well, thank you very much!

Dear Virtan, would you please give me an axample to create a shortcut please.
I think I don't know about [symbol count] and [parameter]?...
What should i write (i use resco explorer) when i want to create a shortcut, for suspend for example...
Thank You
EDIT :
It's okay...I found it..i just add number 1 after the shortcut.
For example :
"\Program Files\SVM Power Mgr\SVM Power Mgr.exe" 1
But Still don't know how to change the icon.
PS:
When i use this shortcut as a link to SPB Mobile Shell i found that everytime i wake up the device, the device starting with "something working" logo (circle that quartered and moving). This is not found when i use the SVM Power Mgr usual link (with menu). Any suggestion?

Bluetooth won't turn off in Comm Manager and more...

Hi Guys,
I'm using the latest 3VO build and I just received a Bluetooth dongle for my laptop that I configured to connect with my Dash. I've established a successful connection between my Dash and laptop, so I can use ActiveSync and send/receive files using BT.
But the two problems I'm still having are these:
1) If I try to turn off BT from Comm Manager, my Dash just stalls (the little circular thingy in the middle of the screen just keeps turning and turning to no effect...)
2) In Bluetooth Explorer: I see that it always stays in "Searching..." mode. What's up with that?
Any help is always appreciated!
Btw, I love this ROM and love my Dash.

If you go through the 3vo thread you will notice that some users have been experiencing issues with BT, post on the thread or PM ookba and see if he has found a fix for this
I just installed the 3VO ROM on my S620 and noticed the same problem with the comm manager when trying to turn off BT, but I also found that the ccomm sliding panel on the home screen works perfectly. Just two clicks up from the clock panel then click right until you see the Bluetooth icon and press the action button to toggle on/off.

[Q] bluetooth and wifi power saving

Hello all,
I am wondering if anybody has any ideas on how i can set my bluetooth and wireless to automatically turn off if they haven't connected to anything in 15 or 30 minutes.
The reason i want to do this is after i leave my home i don't need my wifi until i get back home and after i leave my car i don't need my bluetooth until i get back in it at the end of the day, sometimes i forget these things are still on and they slowly eat at the battery...
I've got the Samsung S3 (AT&T) (i747m Canadian version) although its been rooted and installed CM 10.1 nightly build March 06 there must be some way to do this.
thanks for any ideas!
Alex
Not sure about Bluetooth but you can adjust WiFi settings in the WiFi menu within the advance settings
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747M
For the wifi, try out this app... it will just blip the wifi every time you unlock the screen, and if a network is available it will leave it on, if not it will turn it off. When the screen is off, it will turn off wifi, depending on your traffic settings. Blipping the wifi on uses very little power, so it is very efficient to do it this way. LOVE this app.

As for the bluetooth, only way I know of is using Tasker... there is a profile available in the tasker wiki that will turn off unused bluetooth after a few minutes.
Also, wrong section...

tectiles you can do this too (either enable/disable or run that app)
Using NFC on the GS3 I came across this YouTube video on using NFC tags with the GS3. With with an app like NFC Task Launcher you can configure your phone to turn on/off wifi, bluetooth, or just about any task or series of tasks you'd like.
