Audio via USB - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 Accessories

Hi all,
has anyone flashed the Prophet with the TouchFLO rom like PDAViet 4.0.0.0.6 or similar and have used USB stereo headphone?
The HTC TouchFLO uses USB stereo headphone as standard.

no the usb connector in some htc devices just carry wireing for normal analog audio
it dont mean they can use real usb headsets
just headsets which use the same connector
or one can get a converter from the usb analog audio connector in 1 end and normal minijack in the other

The headphone-through-USB will probably be hardware based, and so no amount of flashing will bring it to our Prophets.

line in type adapter

with the new usb ports on htc devices, i wonder if it would be possible to create an adapter that would allow me toconnect a stereo audio ource for recording with something like vito audio recoder.
the reason is i need to record a live dj set soonish so its either this or modding my ipod with rockbox and a custom adapter.
usb is a serial digital interface
where 1 party have to be master and 1 slave
most pda's only do slave
and slaves cant be active in comm
also not sure why you would use usb for recording
the headset connector of phone pda's have
audio in and out
from where it can record from audio in
and connected devices can record from the pda
from audio out
well yeah, but the headset i connected to the usb port on the new thc devices.
hence my question
basically i want to connect an audiosource to my p3600 so i can record it. since there is no 2.5mm jack on the p3600 i have to do it through the special usb port
there are converters which does that
since usb is purely digital signals
i'm pretty sure the usb connector carry the analog audio
as an unstd connectors in the connector
but dont know anything about pin out
guess you can use the converter
you can prob find it at expansys
actually the htc connecteor is usb plus a few extra pins for audio. so they're predefined.
its like the regular audio jack is added ontop of the normal usb pins
anyway, expansis has no such dapter, otherwise i wouldnt be asking
sure they do

what? that is for charging your phone with an ac adapter afaik.
doesnt have anything to do with line-in audio from what i can see
doh! wrong link

yeah ive looked at those. in fact i bought the brando one.
these either have no audio in functionality at all (they are just usefull for listening to muic), or the audio in is by means of an integrated microphone.
what i am looking for is an adapter that lets me connect an audio source to the audio in channel.
none of these do that :/
hhmm maybe you can make it yourself then by canabalising the headset that came with the device or one like it

Mini USB to 3.5mm audio ???

I have just got delivery of my Asus P320 Windows smartphone. But unfortunatly i have discovered that there is no 3.5 mm or 2.5 mm headphone jack on it. I am wondering if there are any 5pin Mini USB to 3.5mm or 2.5mm headphone adapters, If not, is there anything i could use with windows mobile 6.1 to get music through bluetooth to a small module which I could connect a 3.5mm headphone jeack to. Thanks for your help.
yes their is a usb to headphone jack you can buy
.... never seen a small module but you can stream your bluetooth to a bluetooth headset
Yeah I already have an expensive set of New sennheiser headphones which i do not plan to replace. they are wired so If i was to go the bluetooth route it would be to get a small module which I can connect a 3.5mm audio plug into to convert it to bluetooth signals to my phone.
But you say You have seen 5pin Mini USB adapters, Any Idea where you saw them and where i can get it from,,,, specifically?

I am using this one
Works great! Just plug in any 3.5mm headset and you even have call handling and mic on it!
hi,is there anything like that ,that would work on iPAQ 614c?
miniUSB dont carry audio
it's like normal usb a serial digital data transfer std.
thats why htc have extUSB which is miniUSB with analog audio in the extre wires
pc headsets or speakers which use usb are really external audiocards which transfer the
digital data into analog sound
as far as I know no device can use en external audiocard unless it support usbHost which pretty few wmobiles seem to do
ok,thanks, then i'll have to keep on "enjoying" the music with headphones i got with device heh

Just arch on ebay for a "mini usb to 3.5 jack and it will come up with loads all min haved worked with my tytn and tytn 2 all apart the one i bought which said it fits a motorola razor!!!
Also i have not payed more than about £7 inc postage so far.
Happy hunting.
HI I have the same problem. I have an I-mate Ultimate 8150, I bought it used and when I opend the box I realised that the were no head set or charger.
I'm seeking the polish internet for a adapter 11 pin miniusb - jack 3.5 with no results. I bought an adapter for motorola v3 and it isn't working just like a head set for motorola K1 on miniusb.
I-mate 8150 is very similar to XDA Flame and I think that in those models the sound pins are different do the in the HTC models.
I am looking for some 11 pin miniusb schema (the socket is also used to charge and comunicate with computer).
I've seen an adapter on http://www.imatephonestore.com/accessoryDetail.asp?accMDL=AUDIO_CONVRTR
but i think that the price is too high for such a thing.
Maybe some one knew how to make this adapter or how to remake the motorola k1 headset to work on I-mate 8150
Plaese help me I don't now what else to do thanks
get 11 pin to 3.5 mm
even iam using htc
nd in htc we also have 11 pin jack
i saw one very good converter on :- http://www.amazon.com/Touch-3-5mm-S...tionId=1XM1P73VXKBX6ZQPKN02/mixi-20/ref=nosim
however instead of buying that wt i did i bought a erricsson bluetooth enabled headphones they are cool nd free from entangles nd best part is that even my bluetooth have 3.5 mm jack so i can connect with my car.
Well I bought 2 of 11 pin to 3.5 mm headset adaptor convertor for HTC. Though both are working same but little difference make them very unique. First one is Stereo Converter 11pins to 3.5mm adaptor which simply let me to use my Blackberry curve headset with G1. Other one is cool coz it comes with microphone as well answer switch. I am now using my 3.5 mm headset with G1 and also talking and answering from the same headset converter. Its really cool check this our http://www.fommy.com/accessories.as...obile+G1&cat=Headsets&subCat=Headset+Adapters
Cool I just order one for me the Streo headset adaptor with microphone and answer switch. Along with this I also got 3 in 1 USB adaptor. This one comes with 3 ports to connect 3.5 mm headset jack, 11pins to 11pins HTC adapter and USB connected that can be use to sync or charge G1
11pin is no good, Im looking for the 5pin usb which is on the Asus P320, are there any atall, I have already tried buying a motorola one which has the right connectors but does not transmit any sound.
I have the same phone and looking for the same converter
r there any converters specially available for this phone out yet?
I have AKG's and so youre telling me I cant use them even If I get the USB to audio jack adapter? Also In our store this guy connects his phone to the stereo system in the store with a mini audio (banana plug I think) to the system and plays his music of his phone..can the TYTNII do the same?
BTW, even if I could use the AKG headphones it probably would sound so loud as these are high ohms headphones AKG 240MKII..right? any cheap micro sized headphone amps around?
The mini USB port in asus p320 is actually a 10 pin port (5 on top and 5 on bottom). out of them 5 pins are used for audio and microphone. And others are for USB. Hope this information will be useful for searching 10 pin mini USB to 3.5 mm audio.
I've been using this for my xv6900. It works great.

HTC TyTn II microUSB to miniUSB headset

hello, i have a headset that is a microUSB and i'm wondering can i convert the headset with no converter i mean just the cables this is what i have
Does the microUSB allow for headphones like the HTC extUSB did, or is it just for data transfer and charging?
With extUSB, some of the pins were for audio (left, right, mic).
For example, this thread has circuits for building your own hands-free phones/mic:

FM transmitter - mini usb?

Hello
Anyone experienced with such transmitter?
http://www.blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=135842
Will it works on wm 6.5? does it require some software installation or setup on my HTC Mega?
Are there any good cheap replacement you can recommend me? I would like to have charger for my HTC and be able to listen music from htc's windows media player via card audio
thanks in advance
think they are a bit confused
htc devices don't use miniUSB connectors
they use extUSB which is miniUSB plus audio pins
if it's extUSB then it will work with anything which send audio over the audio pins
a phone a stereo a guitar
it just receive audio and makes the audio into fm radio no software or operating system requirement
extUSB is compatible with mini USB I think so if it works on mini USB so should works on extUSB too, right?
mini usb is a purely digital serial interface which a pda require usbHost support to use
most don't support that and that mean they can only be used by other usbHosts like a pc
extUSB is normal miniUSB but with analog audio connectors on the other side
extUSB cables work with miniUSB conntors and the other way around
but if the fm transmitter just use the audio part then connecting it to a device which have pure miniUSB it would not work
like my belkin fm transmitter just have a 3.5mm minijack and will transmit any audio which is feed it
so if you have a miniUSB connector and not a extUSB and the fm transmitter require extUSB you can't use it
unless your device support USBHost and you get drivers for the device
it should be in the spcs of the device if that is the case
like my belkin fm transmitter just have a 3.5mm minijack and will transmit any audio which is feed it

I saw transmitters like that but I would like to have charger with transmitter together

[Q] 3.5mm to standard USB for car stereo music? [RESOLVED - IT'S NOT POSSIBLE]

Anyone know if I can take a 3.5mm to USB cable. Plug the 3.5mm end into my headphone jack on the phone. Then plug the USB end into the USB port on my car stereo, and listen to music that way?
I know there are other ways of listening to music, but I need the answer to this particular question for something more complicated that I'm researching.
No, can't be done.
And the only way to connect to car is with SGS3 Easy UMS.
Our phone's 3.5mm headphone jack is TRS (headphone) or TRRS (headphone and mic) only. Devices that use the 3.5mm port as a USB port specifically state that and only support charging and USB data (to put music on the device). You would need a separate device to convert the analog audio out of the 3.5mm to digital and stream it over USB and even then your car's headunit would have to support streaming digital audio over USB. Our phones do support streaming digital audio (USB audio host capability) out the micro USB cable though.
Bummer, okay thanks guys.
I think I posted in the wrong forum also. Sorry about that.
thx
