Which Dual Sim Adaptor to get - General Accessories

Hi Guys,
I'm looking forward to buy a dual sim adaptor which preferably dosen't require cutting of sim cards and is durable.....that leaves only one type of dual sim adaptor which makes copies out u'r SIM cards and puts it on single sim card like this 12 in 1 Sim Adaptor
However, this type of adaptor isn't compatible with some sim cards, So is there anyway of knowing before hand weather my sim card's can be copied or not?
Let me know, if anyone has tried this kind of adaptor..
Regards,

[q] xperia m sim issue

Hi
I recently purchased a Xperia M Dual Sim model. Unfortunately I did not know that it was a micro SIM. Now I already have a Nokia Lumia 520 with Micro SIM. The one in Lumia was cut locally by mobile salesaman. The dimensions of the micro SIM was not exactly as per specifications with it looking more like a Nano SIM with all the plastic edges trimmed out. Now this one works fine in LUMIA but as I insert them in Xperia M , it gives error NO SIM.I have carefully seen that the 6 connector points in SIM matches with the 6 quadrants in the SIM but no avail and tried multiple times in both the SIM slots of this dual SIM model. When I look carefully I see that the SIM slots in xperia may have a switch mechanism in the bottom of their SIM slot which detects SIMs which are not cut properly or are not of the perfect dimensions. Is it true for any of the guys over here. Pls help cos otherwise Id have to thing that there is a defect in the SIM Slot.I have checked in both the slots and they are the same.
Thanks
Saboo
Well, first try with a micro sim. They are not expensive and you don't need to change your number or something.
You can't be sure if you only try with hand-cutten not matching sims.
Try with a new one first and then you can see if you really have a problem.

Dual Sim and sd card?

Is there a separate tray for the sd card or does the sim tray double up as sd card tray? which means you can either use 2 sims or 1 sim and sd card, I've not seen any info relating to this online.
Also does dual sim zap battery life quicker then standard model?
Also which models is best suited for EE network?
Currently I'm using UK standard model which i'm quite happy with.
thanks

- Separated trays. Also, sim cards/microsd flap is longer than the standard model

- I'm not sure since I only have the dual sims one. However, If I turn off one sim card, the battery is drained slower.

you can use dual sim if you dont use SD cards. there is a way to use dual simcard plus SDcard. youll have to search for it in youtube.

I don't believe so. While the slot 2 is large enough for a micro Sim, I believe it wouldn't work. Slot 1 uses a nano Sim and slot 2 either a nano Sim or micro SD card. The SD card is oriented one direction and the Sim is oriented a different direction in the 2nd slot. I've never seen an adapter that would make the nano sit sideways in the 2nd slot and I doubt that old micro Sim would trim down that much without cutting into the metal. Surely your carrier will replace the old card with a newer all-in-one Sim.
Maybe the folks that have a dual sim phone will have more of an idea on this.
Hi @Tel864

https://www.amazon.com/UTP-Universal-Adapter-Extender-Android/dp/B07C7G35L6

I've never seen that. Something like that may work but I'm not sure about that one since it's for a different brand. When I searched for Galaxy S9 Sim card adapter in Google I did get lots of hits so you might try that. The one you posted is from a 3rd party seller so I'm not sure how easy it would be to return.
If you look at the different sizes of sim card, full sized, micro and nano have the same pin layout, it is just the plastic borders that differs. It could be a bit risky but you could cut the plastic edge off and make them into a nano sim without any trouble. I've done this and it works perfectly on my s9. Don't know if the chip under the contact pad is bigger on older sims though.

People have recently been reporting those adapters being recognised by the OS and rejected with a warning about a problem with the SIM Tray
Why not just get the SIM card replaced with a Nano SIM?
Or trim it yourself if the chip itself is small enough

Might work, but some of those old Sims had a larger contact area, especially those 16 year old ones like he has.
