Verdict on Piel Frama Leather case from a user - P3300, MDA Compact III Accessories

8 weeks ago, I got a Piel Frama cow skin leather case for P3300 in black and tan colour. If ever I saw a pretty leather case, this was one! It was absolutely stunning. But that's where the good news ends. I found the case quite weak in offering protetion in all but the most docile useage scenarios. The case often detaches from the provided belt clip during simple motion such as getting in and out of your car. Also, the PDA is not held firmly in the case, such that it can easily fall out once the top flap is open (and you must open the top flap to make a call). If the top flap becomes undone while the case is attached to your belt (and it is easy for the top flap to become undone by itself while you are walking), there is a high chance the phone would drop out of the case and onto the floor as you walk along. That happened to me twice! I almost lost the phone on one one of those ocassions. So, funtionality is in the dumps for this case. But it doesn't end there. It seem that durability/quality is in question too. After eight weeks of pretty average usage, the leather is beginning to come loose around the screen area. It appears like the different layers that were glued to gether in the construction are coming apart. I will write Piel Frama and hear what they have to say, but I don't think I am buying another product from them again.

Get a Krussell leather case. It has lifetime warranty(I think) and you just call them and they will send you a replacement.
I had experienced this before. Its a good leather case and a good company.

Also I have bought a Krusell leather case for P3300 several months ago and for me it is very good.
The only problem is that the case very increases the thickness of pda and therefore I put the pda in the case only when I use it in a dangerous place, like on the beach.

I have a Piel Frama around my Orbit. For me, it's the best made, snuggest fit, nicest PDA case I've ever had. I don't use the belt clip, and yes that part does look weak. I'd certainly buy one again.

I also have a Piel Frama and a Krusell. I prefer the Piel Frama.

I suspect you have a faulty case because the Piel Frama case I have is superb. I have been using it for 6 months and the case is still like new and there are certainly no issues with fit or practicality. The company were also very impressive with ordering and delivery so if thats anything to go by I reckon the customer service will be excellent for you. Good Luck.

EIXO
I can also recommend the EIXO case. Fit is perfect, has also a removable holder (also with adapter for car cit) and the leather really protects. I had the case already

Truthfully verizons body glove case is best for non bulkyness.Very stable fits well .ect.
I like my body glove
Personally I have tried the Body Glove case and I like the Otter Box Commuter case a little better. The new Seidio Innocase Active is also a very nice case; a close second to the Otter Box.
Definitely otter box. Slim sturdy and stylish
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
one problem though it has to slide into my jeans. Most of these cases have rubber and dont slide
Throwing in a vote for the Body Glove case.. great fit with just enough bulk to give you that warm protected feeling

You should check out Techie Warehouse. If you go to the Covers & Skins area for the Droid X you'll find over 300 covers to choose from.
Best one I got laying around was not a Seidio, Otterbox or Trident... it was the Dual Layer Vertex Covers just google "techie warehouse vertex cover for droid x"
I quote from our product description about this product "The Motorola Droid X gets ultimate protection. A Screen Protector and two virtual walls of defense. The inner silicone core absorbs shock from bumps and drops. A hard polycarbonate exterior shell prevents cuts, scrapes, dings, and damage for the Motorola Droid X."
Let me know what you think of it.
i bought one of the 3 dollar black silicone ones off amazon. works fine for me..

I have had the Otterbox, Seidio, Innocase, Verizon, Kragen, but I didnt really like any of them. Iphone cases are so much more refined compared to these.
The Otterbox Seidio, and Kragen cases are too bulky, the Innocase looks good but broke on me, and the Verizon Kickstand Case was too cheaply made.
There is a guy from another forum thats making a phone case. It looks great but its not for sale yet, I am personally looking forward to it because he claims its easy to open and has a bunch of other features. It looks absolutely beautiful, so lets hope he can pull this off.
Right now Im using a cheap Ebay Silicone case, its not great either but it was only $2 and thats value for money. I also got a Smartphone Coaster, its a cheap bit of tin but it does the job for now.

Phantomskinz does have skins for the droid X.. Check the site again!
+1 For the Body Glove
I really enjoy my Body Glove, Although I've managed to wear out the snap on the lower left side by removing the case over time to do a battery pull and it no longer holds securely.
I have a Green Trident Kraken on order, due to arrive today actually assuming UPS will brave the icy roads, Good reviews on protection but they all admit to the sacrifice of sleekness.
The pliable verizon silicone case is nice and it fits with extended battery-Motorola and cover. You can find them for $10 online or eBay.
Check ebay item #250759993717
I bought a Sedieo Innocase Surface back in December it cracked in half in January. They are really nice looking, but if you ever have to do a battery pull or if you want to use your car dock, forget about getting it out of the damn case. It fits way to tight. So I am back to the ole Silicone case, which works fine, but sucks if you put it in your pocket, cause it sticks to cloth / jean material.
I'm on my 2nd Body Glove case.
Likes: Belt clip, rubber texture, light weight
Dislikes: Rubber texture deteriorates, weak tabs will not survive impact.
It has kept my DX from scratches but the tabs that snap it together break too easily. First was replaced under warranty. I think I will kick out the $ for an Otter.

Those cases with tabs that snap together aren't meant to be taken apart, after 4 or 5 times they will break. I created a case that opens easily, has no tiny tabs to break and has a multitude of other features.
I've also taken great care to make sure that the case is placed further away from the screen and buttons making it easy to touch the screen and press the buttons on the bottom.
There's space for the OEM extended battery, an extra micro SD card, and even an ID or credit card.
The case also functions as a stand and car mount, my case allows you to watch movies, make movies, capture photos, and use your phones GPS in your car with ease. These features not only work with the Motorola Droid X but with other cases, other phones, and even some other electronic devices such as digital cameras.
The case isn't any more expensive then other high quality cases either. Its 20 bucks and made from the same high strength plastic as other high end cases, so basically if your in the market for a case and other accessories you can pay for just the case and get the rest for free essentially.
If you think this case must be huge and weigh a lot you'd be surprised, its really a simple concept, its almost like a normal cellphone case but we've changed a the design a bit to allow it to function as an adjustable stand.
I can't post links yet so you'll have to google "Jawcase" to find more info, pics, and videos.
I like the Jawcase concept. Alot. I pledged. And good luck with getting your project off the ground Heather. Hope it gets funded.
I've gone through 3 body gloves now with my 4th's clips are broken yet again....
I think its a bit ridiculous that I cant take my phone case off because the clips can't stand it.
I need to find a new case, and I'm thinking of just going with one of the hard-ish silicone cases. The body glove looks great when you buy it, but the rubber wears away like no tomorrow and the clips are destroyed after a couple battery pulls. I had one for my enV touch and it lasted the entire lifespan of the phone with minor tears and such. My droid x's can't last anymore than maybe a month. Don't get me wrong, the body gloves are wonderful, but I'm clearly not having a good experience with it or maybe I'm not handling it properly
+1 for the body glove case. I havent had any issues with the tabs, but i always open it at the bottom with a coin.

Shoot...I was pretty much sold on the Innocase Surface case, was gonna order one in the next few days. I've tried the cheap TPU case, the cheap 2-piece snap together case, maybe I'll try the Verizon silicon one instead of the Innocase.

[Review] PDair Horizontal Pouch for HTC One X

I got my PDair horizontal pouch for my HOX. Love it!
First of all, in my opinion, carrying phone in a pouch on your belt is the best place for it - it's safe, accessible, and there's no need for ugly cases.
Pics are below. Here are some points:
Perfect quality - no defects at all, these guys know how to manufacture quality stuff. I could easily lie that this case costs $80+ if I wanted to =)
100% Natural leather
Coushioned both outside and inside, real pleasant to touch
PERFECT fit for HOX - case was designed from scratch I guess, since it fits so damn well.
Sides have stretchy inserts for ease of access
Inside is made with wrinkled leather - soft and won't leave any residue on the phone.
All corners are covered (!), almost no chance of nicking a corner of your HOX over a table or something
Magnet clip, easily attaches and detaches.
Bottom cut-out, to make it easy to remove the phone quickly
Belt clip is VERY solid. It's full metal wrapped in leather, attached with metal stud. Attached very firmly.
Sown with white thread, looks very cool.
Inexpensive - $29 USD (no tax, free shipping) on their website. Took 2 weeks to deliver though.
Comes in a gift box, wrapped in tissue paper, like a freaking birthday gift. Yeah, seriously.
I highly recommend it. Ditch your plastic cases, just get this - your phone will be safe, and.. naked!

MOFi Pouch Review

Just received my MOFi pouch from ebay today, and I gotta say I am very very very impressed with it.
Though it may not be as luxurious as the Fitbag pouches custom designed from germany, the feel is still quite comfortable. The cloth feels really smooth and soft so there really is no worries as to the comfort it provides.
The inside is very soft as well, though the material will not really clean ur screen when you slide it in, it is guarrenteed that scratching it is also out of the question.
THE FIT IS PERFECT, even though not custom designed for the ONE X, the fit of the pouch with the phone is as if they were made for each other. The phone slides in with a minimal push, and stays in even if the pouch is upside down. Pulling the phone out is as easy as it gets, since the pouch just covers right up to the phones top, with only a estimate of 2mm lip over the phone. Thus, with 2 finges reaching into the pouch, getting the phone out really is a piece of cake.
Due to the nature of its make, the pouch would be comparatively harder to get in and out of your jeans pocket than a leather pouch or a tpu case. But I find it even better that way, as I can just let the pouch stay in the pocket all day, and simply slide my phone in and out of the pouch to use and store it.
With the low price tag on this pouch, I'd say this is an overperformer, and is really a superior pouch than others in its pricepoint. I may even go further and be bold enough to suggest that it beats some of the higher priced pouches in fit and feel.
For which model did you get?

Anyone tried PDair pouch?

I Can not decide what case to choose, SENA one, but it's to thin and I hate the leather pattern, or go for good ol' PDair,
they have than one http://www.pdair.com/index.php/leat...nexus-gt-i9250-vertical-pouch-type-black.html with multiple stitching color to chose from.
I asked them what the inner side part is made of, and they told me
"Thanks for your enquiry. ALL our Genuine PDair Leather Case is made of Premium Korea Cowhide leather and inner part is pvc. The inner part is a little hard to support the case but won’t get scratchiness on the phone."
Now PVC can also mean vinyl, maybe they mean it's hard to bend but soft to touch? anyway post your answers, still think to go with PDair as the shipping is free, SENA wat's 30$ to ship to Israel and it's ridiculously pricier, LOL not that I'm one to complain, as I ordered some acessories from EXPANSYS UK (extended battery w/cover, and desktop multimedia dock for my GNEX, but they was cheaper back then in comparison to eBay):silly:
I have the same PDair version, but with a belt clip. It protects the screen just fine, in fact that is what I bought it for. It's not slim, but its the only thing I put in that pocket. For the times i'm not wearing business clothes (often) I clip the clip on the edge of my pocket, so the pouch sits inside my pocket, and the clip keeps it towards the top of the pocket. It also keeps the phones screen safe when i'm not keeping it in my pocket and throw it on a table or counter somewhere. It'll protect it from a lot of drops, but nowhere's near as effective of otterbox style cases.

Can you show me some photos? also do you maybe use extended battery? the thing is, that I want to make a pair, buy same type of case for both my Galaxy Nexus and my Nexus 7, I currently use SGP Crumena for the GNEX.
if you compare SENA, SGP and PDair, the last one is different, it not protect all the sides as the other.
on other hand the SENA vs PDair for N7 is that they do protect all sides

Leather carry case for note 2 with protective cover plus

Anyone know of a horizontal leather belt carrying case with magnetic close that can hold the phone but with a touch more room than the standard size? I've just got the protective cover plus and it's great, hardly know it's there, adds more grip, protection, and looks like it's part of the phone, however it obviously adds a couple mm round the edges and now it won't fit in my existing leather pouch...
I've seen the XXXL ones on the american amazon, but being in the UK I'm hoping there might be something in this country? Also I think with XXXL it says it can hold the otterbox commuter so I'm thinking it might be too big.
I've heard this one allows some extra bulk:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Horizontal-...8&qid=1369055316&sr=8-3&keywords=note+2+pdair
But I cannot guarantee it will fit.
i just posted that one in his other thread, but i can guarantee it will fit(only barely though)
