HTC Home - Favorites / How to add "Send SMS" option? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

I've been using SPB Mobile Shell for a long long time over HTC Home simply because with SPB Shell's favorite tab, I could use the middle-click D-Pad button and hold it down to open a context menu for each contact.
Then I'd have the option to Call / Send SMS / Chose Phone Number / Edit
While on HTC Home, it only calls, unless I use the touchscreen to click&hold for the contact menu.
So far, I havent found anybody talking about this in any thread. There might have been someone asking for how to do it in a huge thread, but there is no visible guide or fix for it, not even in HTC Home Customizer
So I want to make sure that I'm not missing out on HTC Home over a feature I COULD get.
So... could I get that feature from HTC home? That I use the D-Pad to open a context menu from my favorites to send a SMS?
thnx!

You're not alone! I have very much missed this feature in SPB Mobile shell and apart from the way you mentioned it, don't see it being done in HTC Home.

Hi there.
You delete the call history from the phone menu. As already mentioned...
SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 call log can not be edited.
I think it is a bug or basically the omitted including this feature.
Also calendar entries can not be edited from spb menu. I contacted them and replied that it is a bug and will work on that....
whats stated above does work.
if you delete your call records from the phone itself and than go into the mobile shell settings and fully exit the mobile shell by doing the following:
"just go to "Launcher"->"settings"->spb mobile shell" now click on the icon at the bottom of right hand conner and "exit shell" . After that re launch spb then its done"
Just know when re-launching the shell it may take a few seconds longer since it needs to restart the shell again. Or you can just reboot the phone.
If i not wrong, the new 3.0.1 (beta) version had the remove call history bug fix...
HTC Diamond2
Problems with HTC Diamond2 and SPB Shell 3
Cannot even delete calls from call history at call phone mode. Every time I touch on the call that I want to delete, it start to dial that number. Cannot launch contact while at the phone menu too. Any help on this issue, or is this a serious bug for Diamond2?

Home keys

Hi,
I've done away with the text messaging as an inclusive part of the phone allowance - it was a bolt on - I'm now using the 'unlimited' web bolt on.
I've downloaded and am using HD Tweak but what I would like to do is to set the home left hand key to be still called new sms but to open Skype instead for sending texts (most of my texts go abroad and skype is far cheaper for this) rather than the HTC text program.
Is there a way to add Skype to the list of programs that appear that can be allocated to this key. Happy to go delving into the registry etc if someone leads the way.
Thanks

Delete single phone number

Is it possible cancel a single phone number instead of all calls or all the calls for a contact?
I have italian ROM version 1.19.408.1.
Thanks in advance
are you talking about deleting a call in the call history? if so, here's how to hide your mistress' calls.
Press the send key to pull up the phone app & then the bottom left of the dialer there is a Call History button. that will bring up all the individual calls & you can select & delete & hide your affair.
enjoy

Thanks for your answer but your advice doesn't work in my phone with the european rom reported above. I need to delete a single phone to a dialer and not all the phone calls to that dialer.
FOr exampke if I call a friend 10 times and he can't answer I will found in my call history all the 10 calling and this generates confusion, so I want to be free to delete wath I want in my history call to obtain the better information I need.
If in the future, as you mention , I will need to make some "mistress calls" I will use a first generation phone (never a pocket PC phone ) and another sim card but it is not time yet .
Thanks in advance for your cooperation
Call you post a screenshot of what pops up when you press the Call History icon on the dialer? I'd like to see if it's the same as mine.
This was a feature I was also looking for.
I found this on a ROM with Manila 2.5. I apologize but I forgot which one. The ROM was a bit unstable so I am presently using another. I will PM the OP with the ROM I used.
---edit---
It was a ROM with Manila 2.5 build 23049
You can delete all calls to an individual caller (or all calls to all callers) but on Manila 2.1 it is not possible to delete a single call to that caller.

It is possible on 2.1 doing what i described. from the Phone/Dialer, press the bottom left icon for Call History & it will bring up individual calls (sort of like the old WM way) & you can press & hold a single call & it will pop up with an option to delete or you can do it through the Menu.

Wow... I can't believe it was right in front of my eyes the whole time! I was going through my call history from the 6.1 contacts.
Thanks
And for the record, it's the icon directly to the left of the Talk button when you bring up the dialer.
The icon to the left of TALK button on my TP2 toggles between voice calls and video calls. There is no Call History icon
Call History can be called up using the right softkey Menu > Call History, or click on the icon to the right of the call entry, which only gives me the option to delete all calls to that particular caller.
hmm, must be a US only thing then.

Yes, I can't find it on my European version of the TP2.
I think freakingwilly did mention a way to do it: through the 'Contacts' app in the 'All Programs' list.
t's a bit fiddly, but the way I've done it is:
1. Press the Phone/Send key to get a list of recent calls, and hit the button to the right side of that entry to get to the Contact Details page
2. Once you're there, press 'More' in the Information section
3. This will bring you out of TouchFLO into Windows Mobile 6.1 page for that contact
4. Tap on 'Last Call' (this will only be present if there is any call history to see)
5. You'll see a list of last calls for that contact which you can delete individually.
Note that this only works if that number is in your phonebook contact list - I haven't found a way to delete unknown callers short of saving them to my phonebook first.

Correct !
Indeed, it's a US thing.
The simplest thing I've found is simply to exist TF3D/Sense. I have installed the Darkness Toggler for TF3D Sense/Titanium/SpbShell. Once out of Sense, the option to hold down and delete individual calls is there.
I have US Tmo 6.5 rom. Press and hold does not bring up any menu for me and the moment I let it go, it simply dials that number for me.
@see_u_then:
What you described comes from the TF3D-Sense. Once you get quit sense, you will get the option to delete. As I said in the note above yours, I simply toggle between shells (TF3D/Spb Shell/Titanium). I get the option in all shells (or no shell) except in TF3D-Sense.
(As an aside, it's interesting that they removed this option in the TF3D-Sense2.1. The option was there in the WM6.1/TF3D Manila2.1 version that I had before the "update").

Can i make Contacts the default when I phone?

if i press the Phone button it takes me to the dial keypad with the Call History in the background. Is there a way to make it default to Contacts instead as this is nicely sorted into alphabetic order?
If they are contacts you dial often, they will be the first results that will appear when you start to type either their name, initials or number.
Otherwise leave the people app on your home screen and use that.
I don't know of any option to do what you want unless its through root which I haven't done.

Reject/block calls

Hi all
I owned the G2 and G3 on both these devices you had the ability to reject calls by long pressing number and adding to reject list..
However I can not find or am unable to add nuisance calls to a reject list on G4..
Is this function gone or is there another way to do it?.
Cheers.
Hit the dialer app, open the options menu and select call settings. There's an entry named call reject, where you can do this. It's far more complicated than on the G2, but it's there.

Not for Verizon
You can also try an app called Mr Number..Ive used for a couple of years to keep trck of blocked calls, etc
You can still access the reject call screen on Verizon through a shortcut maker, like quick shortcut it, or activity shortcuts on home screens other than lg.
