Bluetooth on WM6 not compatible - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Does anyone have a clue why my Vario 2 will connect to my Car Bluetooth when using WM5 (either HTC version or T-Mobile) but when using WM6 it seems impossible to connect?
What happens is this:
When using WM6 I can connect my phone with my (Citroen) car bluetooth and I can scroll through my phonebook using the buttons on my steering wheel. It even confirms I'm using the car BT as a handsfree device.
But as soon as I start a conversation, the only thing I hear trough the sound system of the car is a loud "click" and then only noise.
And the phone is no longer using its own speaker too....
When using WM5 I don't have this problem.
I've tried many things, like the HTC version of WM6, the T-mobile version of WM6, I've tried the Schaps 4.30, I've tried different radio versions. Nothing works.
Anyone any clue?

The bluetooth stack has nothing to do with the radio image, theres no point in changing radio versions.
In the car stereo setup, is your device still listed? If it is....remove it. Then on your device in WM6....scan for the stereo.....if it is found pair with it and can you please reply with the services it offers in the paring dialogue on the Hermes.

I know the radio has nothing to do with the BT, but I was kind of desparate....
When I pair, the only service I can choose is the handsfree function.

Same issue than you, on a 407 peugeot, I get back on WM5, I work/phone in my car...
I like WM6 news fonctionnalities, I try some Schaps, some CRC, some Black, none were fonctionning...
If anybody has any ideas, I'm ready to try,
Rds,

Well just to update this thing, I have a jabra BT320s which NEVER showed up as wireless stereo, but on the latest pandora kitchen (big storage 3.62 version) it is detected as handsfree and stereo now. Perhaps try that ROM??

XDAIIi, Bluetooth Headset and GPS

Hi
I'm looking at purchasing an XDA IIi from O2, both to use as a PDA, phone and for SatNav. It's likely that I'll go with TomTom and I already have a Bluetooth GPS receiver.
I've already got an O2 blue headset that works with my SonyEricsson T610 and I'll also be wanting to use that whilst in the car.
I have some questions that I hope some of you might be able to answer...
Is it possible to use both a bluetooth headset and bluetooth GPS at the same time?
Does the XDA IIi support the O2 blue as the SE T610 does, i.e. I press the button and say the contact I want to call and then the phone (home, mobile etc).?
Thanks for any help!
GWG
Hi
I have the Jabra BT 200 headset and the Leadtek 9537 GPS unit. They both work fine at the same time on my Xda IIi.
I was checking the GPS using Pocket Streets (have not re-installed Tom Tom yet but I do not envisage a problem)
The BT setup seems better on the IIi, there wasn't any messing around with the COM port settings like there was with the Xda II.
If you mean the fonix VoiceDial software that comes with it, then yes, it does work that way.
On the whole, I am pleased with the IIi (I had the II for a year), the camera is flakey but I can live with that.
MarkySan...
Thanks for that... Looks like it'll do what I'm after
I might then have to become a regular on these forums!
Cheers
GWG
Be warned, if you mean the o2 CLIP blue headset (made by iTech), I also have it and have been unable to get it working. (Why oh why can I not have the old stack from the xda2 as that worked perfectly with headset profile)
At one point I was briefly able to get it installed as a handsfree device but it then stopped working. Before I got rid of my xda2 I tried re-pairing the devices and it worked great first time. Other BT headsets I had access to worked fine.
Does anyone else have this headset and an xda2i? I've posted about this before but got absolutely no feedback whatsoever. Could anyone tell me if they're using a clip style headset (not the ones that hook round your ear) with the 2i...how much it cost and what make etc. I may have to bite the bullet, sell the o2 headset and buy another one.
Cheers

2 BT devices simultaneously on XDA II
This is an interesting problem. I've got an XDA II, a leadtek BT gps receiver and a nokia handsfree BT carkit, plus Tom Tom.
I haven't got them all working at once yet and have been told there is a problem getting the handsfree to work anyway.
This was from a so called reputable high st mobile phone chain (who also said that only one BT device could be connected at once).
Any help or advice appreciated....
David
Well, I got my XDA IIi and very nice it is too.. this is my first foray into the world of PDA so I've nothing to compare too, so I'm very pleased
I've twinned it with my O2 blue headset and it works fine.
Also got TomTom navigator and a bluetooth GPS (although you still need a cable for power across the dashboard! Doh!).
They both work together, although there does seem to be some strangeness when they're both on:
1. The GPS sometimes drifts off... although this is based on a 15 minute drive into Town only
2. When on a call, the GPS signal seems to go completely and TomTom doesn't know where I am!
I do have a question about WiFi and MMS if anyone could help...
I have a WLAN at home, whihc the XDA IIi seems to connect to fine. However, when I am connected to it, I cannot send or receive MMS messages.. I'm sure it's something to do with this 'Internet' or 'Work' stuff, but this is all rather confusing. Has anyone written an idiots guide to all these strange settings?
Thanks!
ive used it all week on calls and even had the voice through my jabra 250 gps stayed on all the time it was fine the only problem i had was i couldnt get gprs without a softreset
Alix, are you saying you got the Tom Tom voice directions through the Jabra?
If so, I'm off to get the i!
Firstly is this forum ONLY for developers?
Because you will quickly discover that I am not a developer but a confused user and I was hoping that I could get some advice here?
Anyway I have a Bluetooth headset and was considering getting TomTomGo but also wondered if the headset and a BT GPSr would work together.
Also does anyone know if we will ever get voice dialling working on MobilePPC? I had a brief discussion with someone at Fonix who said that "Microsoft does not expose the necessary functions to third party software developers like Fonix".
Actually, now I've been using it for a while, it seems the reason Tom Tom drifted was because of a loss of signal.
Using the BT headset and Tom Tom with the BT GPS together is fine.
What is annoying though is the fact that the Phone App pops up in front of Tom Tom and doesn't go away when the call is complete.
Also, when touching the button on the headset to open the connection with the phone, it doesn't automatically start the Voice dial, you still have to reach across and fumble about looking for the button on the side. Has anyone got any ideas if it's possible?
That being said, the voice dial works OK.. not brilliant, and the voice that tells me what it thinks I've said is rather disappointing.. I want to keep telling it to 'Please speak more clearly' !
And I too can hear the Tom Tom voice prompts through the BT headset when the conection is open, although I prefer not to.
See my note re what the Fonix guy said above.

You can ONLY connect to MMS via the O2 GPRS network. Since your WIFI is outside their network, and is somebody elses, they won't let you login to their servers to send. All the carriers work this way - it's how they charge!
Hi,
I have a XDAIIi, Nokia car kit and TomTom 3 bluetooth. I have been trying to connect my phone to the car kit using bluetooth. Unfortunately it will only connect for phone calls. Does anyone knows how to permanently connect the phone using a different profile, so that I can listen to music and voice instruction of my TomTom using the car audio system? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

All I can help you with is that using my Jabra I press the call end button on the headset and the sound for my Tom Tom and MP3s comes through the headset.
Hope this helps.
Thanks mindracing. Do you know what services/profile your jabra return when you enquire it?
KR,
Reda
It shows up as Hands Free connection to Jabra 250.
Status just shows Jabra 250/Audio Gateway.
If you know where else to look just ask.
Thanks mindracing. yesterday I tried every possible combination but it seems I cannot stream my music and Tomtom instruction to the car kit.
Thanks anyway.

just a note on this. I have had a jabra bt205 working with a QStarz BT-800 gps, it works ok BUT when i changed from the jabra to a stereo headset it workd ok too but only on the crap audio quality. I installed the cab file for A2DP support. now i have really good audio but as soon as i try to connect the gps the audio goes all choppy and eventualy cuts out.
It is of my limited opinion that you cant run A2DP and a bluetooth GPS because of the bandwidth (data transfer) available. Ive yet to see if i can get tomtom running with the wired gps and A2DP quality headset.
Think ill be goin back to wired headset for on the bike so i can have music, tomtom and calls... just need to find someone on here who has got a voice dial prog to run from the green call button on the wired headset.

I use the MS BT stack with my Blue Ant BT earpiece and the Broadcom BT stack with a BTGPS74R receiver (aka Holox BT-321). They both work well individually, but not together. Another post made the point about com port issues ... well yes, I use the Broadcom BT Manager for this purpose, but the XDA II does not pair with the Blue Ant, even with TomTom 6 OFF. It shows up but is not really paired correctly.
Perhaps there is a simple answer ... if so, I am sure someone will advise me.

WM6 Bluetooth Headset Problem

Hi there I'am new here.... seached the forum and google a lot but didn't find an answer...
Just flashed from XDALive 2.0 to Black 2.0, radio 1.38.00.10 and HardSPL v6 with help of the manual of mrvanx.
My problem with the rom of XDALive 2.0 was that TomTom 6 keep hanging serveral time. The headset (bluetooth build in CAR, peugeot 207) was working perfectly. After the upgrade to Black 2.0 the TomTom problem was solved , it works perfectly now. The only what came up was the bluetooth headset probleem. The connection is ok but I don't hear any sound??
Flashed back radio ROM to 1.35 no results...
Found something interesting...
When its not connect with the carkit, turn on bluetooth, dail a numbers and turn on the Speaker, it will eventually connect to the carkit automaticly (and I got sound thourgh the carkit!
When searching for bluetooth devices it will find the headset and the carkit goes into 'calling mode'. When dailing a contact directly after that the carkit will work. But the next try it will mute the radio but doesn't give any sound on the carkit.
When allready connected with bluetooth on the carkit it wont give any sound thourgh it.... strange.. Tried serveral other ROMS but they are giving me the same problem...
Widcomm BT Stack (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1072773&postcount=72) also tried, didn't help... anyone some suggestions?
PS.: My old nokia still works, it can't be the carkit..
Question for you. after you setup your carkit do you go into the bluetooth and set it to your handsfree device. There seams to be a few changes to the way WM6 chooses the handsfree device if you have several set up.
I have to change in WM6 bluetooth which headset I am using when I switch between the 3 headset I have. I have to go to Start\Settings\Connections\Bluetooth Click/Hold on my headset that I want to make active - you will get a Menu wit Edit/Delete/Set as Hands-free/Set as Wireless Stereo (last should be grayed out if it doesn't support Strereo)
Choose Set as Hands-free
After doing this my headset works fine. Try it and see if it works for you.

When searching for a new bluetooth device WM6 sees a headset and the connection is successful. The 'Set has headset' is availible and is set. The option Wireless Stereo isn't support I think, its not availible as an option.
When calling you can turn on/off your headset back to the phone. That works but there is still no sound on the headset.
balck 2.0 does have issues. i also have same with motorola hs850.
only just found out. havent fixed.
bt connects as phone pad shows it.
headset bleeps on connect call and disconnect call. but no sound is sent or received.
always set to headset though not hands free.
will have to test further but definitely an issue. i didnt ask jj out of respect for his withdrawl of support.
I don't think it a problem with Black 2.0. Too many people say it works no problem.
I'm on black and all three of my head sets work like a charm. I have 2 Motos an H810 and a H700 and an Plantronics 510. I also have been able to use internet sharing, BT file transfer, and BT sync with Black 2.0
But it could be an incompatability between the WM6 M$ BT stack and your hands free kits.
Test your phones with another BT device and see what you get.
Same problem with HS850

I have exactly the same problem, and I didn't solved yet....but I've found this bypass:
When the phone rings I answer with the bluetooth handset and receive the beeb on connect call.....then I close the BT headset and as soon as I re-open it, I have the headset working.....I have to do this for every incoming or outgoing call.
My BT headset was working well with the black 1.2.
This is the only issue I've found in the black 2.0.....I think is the most stable and fast rom.
Bye prengo.

My other Bluetooth devices are working fine. My bluetooth GPS receiver works just fine with TomTom... no issues there.
Just flashed back to XDA-Live (v0.20.1) and the headset works without any problem.
Only thing now is Tom Tom 6 hangs directly after the start of it. Anyone familiar with this issue?
thx
PS.: what is the differance between the Black 2.0 and XDA-Live (v0.20.1) ? other bluetooth driver versions besides the os version? Maybe there is a way to combine..?
A common thread seems to be the HS850
I have the exact same problem with my HS850. I get the call connect beeps but no sounds come through. The issue exists if the headset is connected when the call is made. If I make the call, then flip the boom and turn the headset on, then I get sounds no problem.
I had this issue with both LVSW 4-08 and Black 2.0. I eventually went back to XDA Live 0.20.1 and my BT issues all went away.

WMXL .20 is based on a beta WM6 build and Black 2.0 is built on an RTM build (non-beta)
With Moto HS850 too.

Exactly the same here with HS850. Tried everything after 20070320_RUU_Hermes_WWE_3.23.0.0_1.34.00.10.exe but kept getting no sound.
I have experienced the same problem with my 407 hands free system. My Orange SPV C600 works without a problem, it does not show signal strength and battery level though. Using my M3100 with any of the following listed below works perfectly:
HTC English QTEK_001 2.11.255.1 03/07/07 2.11.255.102 1.38.00.10 32.71.7020.12H OS 15673.3.3.1 AKU 3.3.1

XDA-Live (v0.20.1) English 3.22.110.1 01/04/07 None None 5.1.195 (WM6) OS 17217.6.0.0
I have found all the above roms work perfectly with my TomTom 6.030 software. I am currently using Black Version 2, I have also used LVSW roms and found the same issue with any running the OS 17736.0.2.0

It's great that you tracked this down so specifically. I guess this means for those of us with these issues, we have to avoid newer WM6 builds until someone looks into this.

I have the same problem as the others with my HS850. No audio if the headset is on when a call is made or received but if I close the boom and re-open it, viola it works again.
I did have a problem with HTweakC where I changed the A2DP setting to on and now no matter what I do I can't get it off again. I might re-flash and see if that helps.
I don't know if it matters but I have MS voice command on my phone, even though the MSVC16BThack doesn't work anymore. (my phone is an 8525) Hope someone can figure this out, I really like the speed and stability of this ROM but if I can't get my BT to work I'm going to have to downgrade.

I am using Cyberon Voice Commander v2 - maybe that is why it is working for me
Hi,
I am using radio rom 1.40.30 and Black 2.0.
I am using H700 BT headset
the problem i face are opposite from you all.
If i am already talking halfway and i flip the boom to continue talking with the BT headset...it won't work.
if i receive a call and I flip the boom while the phone rings, it is ok and i can even press the button on the h700 to answer the call.
Radio 1.40.30 seems to connect with the BT headset much faster.
last time when i was using my previous default factory rom, when i flip the boom while the phone is ringing, it will take ages to connect
why not u guys try radio rom 1.40.30 also

I did a hard reset, paired the headset, and tried it right away and still had the issue so it's not VC 1.6. It has to be related to the ROM as I have the same Radio ROM for all three OS images and only the XDA Live ROM works correctly.

Sorry, what I meant is that perhaps Cyberon Voice Commander is 'fixing' the issue on my system, rather than saying MS VC 1.6 was causing the problem. Next time I hard reset I will test my headset BEFORE installing cyberon software
Ok I'm still having this problem and this is what I have tried so far:
I downgraded to XDALive v0.10 and my BT worked, but no WiFi
So I upgraded to HardSPL v6, then installed the 1.40.30.00 Radio rom, and then went back to Cingular Black 2.0, WiFi back but no BT unless headset is activated after call is initiated.
Installed Cyberon Voice Commander, didn't effect anything, still no BT
Removed Cyberon Voice Commander and re-installed MS VC 1.6 installed all the hacks and still no audio in the headset.
So it looks like it is something in the ROM that is killing the BT functionality. Maybe because the XDALive is based on a beta WM6 and the Black is based on a full version?

[HTC 8525 + WM6] Bluetooth keeps disconnecting

Hello!
I do not know if someone has the same issue. I upgraded the WM6 to my HTC 8525 and bluetooth just keeps disconnecting all the time. It happened without any reason at all. I am using "Plantronics 510". The headset is fine, just phone switches the bluetooth off and I need to go to settings to switch it back on. I saw some people have a problem with car-enabled bluetooth. Not sure if it is the same problem.
Any advice? Does someone get the same problem? Any patch or solution?
Thank you!

which WM6 ROM are you using?
I had this problem with my Audi A4 car phone. The ROM versions using build Build 17745.0.2.3 were not good for that. Now, I'm using the Black Majik ROM and that works like a dream for the BT connections.

i started having the same problems but i noticed it after i installed the voice command.. the rom that i use is the gm360 gold. the problem ive got was whenever i was in a phone call using my blutooth and i received a text message it would deactivate my headset. if ur having somewhat of the same problem try disabling ur voice command software...
Multiple AT&T/HTC WM6 ROMs?
My 8525 with the WM6 ROM can no longer route the audio to the BT headset (a Moto HS850 - but this is irrelevant, I suspect).
Basic BT headset usage was fine with WM5 (excepting the known issues with VoiceCommand).
I thought that perhaps the issue was related to the various little registry tweaks and sw patches. However, I had to do a reflash (for other reasons) and currently have just the default WM6, no registry tweaks, no BT sw patches, and MS VoiceCommand 1.6 installed (but set to NOT use the BT headset).
Pairing works fine. So does activation recognition (i.e. the little headset appears in the notification area when I open the boom on the headset and I can hear the background establishment of the BT channel). But audio (dialing tones and Connected call audio) do not reach the headset. The audio also doesn't go to the phone's speaker.
So, are the official ROM updates that repair this? Or, is the cost of going to WM6 the abandonment of BT headsets?
By the way, VoiceCommand 1.6 works fine--if I tell it to stay away from the BT headset.
Pays WM6 Roms
I had the same BT disconnecting problems with my original german Vodafone WM5 and also still have them with Pays WM6 ROMs (2.02 - 2.15) in my Audi A6 MMI.
With the original german HTC WM6 ROM BT worked very well.
Everything else on Pays ROMs is really great. He´s doing great jobs.
Any idea?
I have the same problem with my 8525 and I use plantronics 520. It did the same thing even with other headset too, and also happens in WM5.0, 6.0 and 6.1.
I am tending to believe its a hardware issue, but dont know how to prove it!

Come On, experts on the XDA portal, no solution?? noooo way!!??
My friend had the same issue with an tytn2 and last schap's rom in french language.
After an hard reset i get BT work fine with his OPEL.
But before i made lot of test desinstalling soft check registery key with no result. I still do know why BT was disconecting woth no reason.
Cheers.
Audi Bluetooth hands free
I had the same problems in wm6 with some roms.
I use the official HTC TyTn wm6 with excelents results, also Schaps 4.31 work very good (No disconection at all).
Now I am using Pay WWE 4.30 with many disconections.
BTW I have the audi TT bluetooth option.
On my 8525 Hermes I use the latest Pays Rom and it was disconnecting all the time (Parrot BT) - BUT then I decided to TURN OFF THE WAN and it improved greatly. Other thing I noticed is that the Hermes has to be in DIRECT LINE OF SITE of the BT device at all times or it is erratic.
BT
It seems there are differences in the WM6 versions. As said earlier in this thread for me original HTC and Schaps WM6 ROM versions are running without any BT disconnections.
Tried several WM6.1 versions now and every single one is working fine with my Audi MMI.
Similar problems handing BT control between applications
Hi all, I've been experiencing similar problems since changing ROMs. Originally with Schaps 3.60a I was able to make a call whilst listening to music all using my BT headphones. The Call would pause the music & resume afterward. It worked great! However since changing to Schaps 4.0, 4.2 & now CRC's PHKv12r9, I've never had the same. On a couple of rare occasions it has all worked fine but more often the bluetooth has to be turned off & back on again to reconnect. it seems to relate to what other programs are also running. I suspect there must be registry settings which control the bluetooth operational modes which are brought into play by the various programs running.

HTC WM6 - Car Kit Bluetooth Problem (no sound at all)

After upgrade to the official HTC WM6 ROM (spanish version) my integrated bluetooth hansdfree CAR-KIT doesn't work anymore (with WM5 the system works perfectly).
The car is a new CITROËN C4 Picasso, but i think this problem must involve any new PSA Group Car (CITROËN, PEUGEOT...) that mount the same kit.
I can pair the CITROËN hansfree with the TyTN, and both connects (i can see the operator name, the battery level, and the signal level, that WM5 stack doesn't show) but when i try to call, or i receive a call, there is no sound throw the hansfree system.
I also have tried the Jetware bt extension with no succes.
At now i had to downgrade to WM5 because this problem (i need the handsfree working).
The cuestion is...
Is it possible for a ROM MASTER to extract a previous bluetooth working TyTN stack to overwrite the stack that comes with official WM6?... (the WM5 or any working WM6 working stack).
Thanks
The same problem here with the same car; also the Artemis on WM6 (I tried several roms) has no sound.
Downgraded to WM5, and it's all working again.
Not yet tried to get an update for the car; maybe there is also a solution.
I have the same problem with Motorola HF-850 car kit. I'm about to downgrade too. This sux.
Same issue here with Nissan Sentra 2008.
I can dial and receive calls but the audio works about 30% or the time. It is hit or miss.
Same here in a 2007 UK CITROËN C4 (5 door hatchback) with factory fitted Bluetooth car kit, using an Orange M3100 with the Schap's WM6 Pro 3.60a ROM. Looks like I'm going back to the Orange WM5 ROM as this is a deal breaker for me. Very disappointing.
try this
I had similair problems a few pretty good solutions:
-jetware search google i use this one
-Solution:2
Change the COD (Class of Device) from a PDA device to a smartphone device.
This can be done this way:
1. First make sure you've got a backup, or remember all settings you change in the registry.
2. Edit with a registry editor the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\SYS\COD
By default my vario II does have the value: 1048852 (decimal)
Change this to: 5374476 (decimal).
3. Soft restart your device
4. Voila! Your device now identifies itself as a smartphone

Thanks!
I tried the Jetware solution: no luck.
I also tried the COD trick: very strange result, I was able to make just 1 (one) call and other calls were again not possible (no sound).
Maybe there is a solution in updating the software of the handsfree set in the car. I will ask my Citroen agent to do this, if possible.
I will post the results.
I haven't tried the COD trick, but I don't think this will work. It's not a case of my car 'ignoring' my M3100... it pairs OK, and the car's display shows an incoming call, allows me to pick it up, etc, but no sound comes out of the speakers and the other party doesn't hear my voice. It's like the car is receiving the data stream to tell it what's happening on the call, but not the sound.
I don't have any of these problems with WM5, I don't even need to use the JetWare solution.
same problem with Peugeot 407
Same problem here with Peugeot 407
What I found is that if I start a call without Bluetooth and start Bluetooth during the caal, the sound works perfectly. Every next call has the same problem as before though.
TyTN; WM6 Schap's 3.60a;Radio 1.47.00.10
Hi.
I am with Motorola's HF-850 car kit and I get the sound only after 8-10 full seconds from answering. It is so sad that I have to say "wait....wait" every time I answer a call....
There is a post on this forum that suggests someones got it working with an Audi and the latest Black beta rom...
http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/hermes-black-rom-support/11291-black-x-beta-2-smash-trash-11.html
Anyone tried this?
This post also suggests that the newest Black roms may have fixed the issue
http://htc-devs.com/forum/index.php?topic=42.msg321;topicseen
Here's hoping!
That will not work on the Artemis
But I tried several WM6 roms, including the Black & Blue 4.1: no luck.
Looks like a real WM6 issue, as it's happening with several phone models.
UPDATE: No software update for the factory Citroen bluetooth handsfree according to the local dealer; so that's no solution
I have tried 5 of the latest roms yesterday including all the fixed mentioned in this forum. The best I got was with Sleuth rom where I get audio about 50% of the time. Answering with that rom results in a 5 seconds delay before audio connects causing me to yell "wait, wait, I am here ... "
I even tried a blootooth stack from Broadcomm but the result was not better.
Out of desperation as I bought this car specially for its built in bluetooth kit, I downgraded to Cingular Mobile 5 Rom version (2.15.502.3)
I am surprised and kind of thrilled to report that my 8525 and the car kit are working perfectly together and reliably.
There must be either a bug or a setting/configuration issue on the Mobile 6 bluetooth stack that caused this issue. I am unfortunately back to mobile 5 for the time being until this issue is resolved.
SPV m3100, CK3100 AND WM6
I have an Orange SPV M3100 in Spain with WM6 and i have the same problem. With WM5 and Jetware estension, i had to pair parrot and pda manually every time i got into my car, because they did not connect automatically (Blueetoth-->Devices-->Parrot CK3100-->FreeHand-->OK), but then it works well and i could receive and make phone calls.
But since I upgrade to WM6 i have to pair it manuaaly too, they connect, but it only works from time to time; most times, if i make a call it dials but i cannot speak and people does not hear me; if there is an incoming call, I see the number in the displsy but i can receive it.
Anybody with WM6 and Parrot Ck3100 works well?
I have the same problem with a Mio C520 SatNav. Its bluetooth handsfree works fine with WM5 but not WM6.
I also posted this on a thread on bluetooth headsets, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=301636&page=6
I tried many different versions. So far with Sleuth's WM6, I had sound around 50% of the time. Similar to one of the previous posters.
Until there is a fix I will have to go back to WM5
I use a parrot car kit and it works fine. However, I noticed some new functionality on my lcd, like displaying battery and signal levels which was not available with the original WM5. That was available only with specific phones. Based on that I believe that a firmware update of your car kit could solve the problem. The issue is whether this is provided for you and if you will have to pay. Parrot offers them for free and you can upgrade via BT.

XDA Orbit 2, TomTom and Bluetooth

Hi,
I have the following problem:
I am using XDA Orbit 2 and a car-radio Maqma MQ-106BT. This radio offers Bluetooth-connection to my XDA. It supports the BT-headset (A2DP) and the handsfree profiles.
After pairing the car-radio is shown with both active profiles in the settings-screen of the XDA.
I want the car-radio to play the radio program and to give the TomTom-voice using the car-speakers. The system works very well for the phonefunktion. But if I start TomTom the radio sound stops and only the voice of TomTom is to be heard but nothing between the TomTom comments. It seems, as if TomTom uses the BT-headset Profile and thus the radio is always waiting for sound from the XDA.
Are there XDA-settings which would help me or is there a possibility to force TomTom to use the handsfree profile, thus only muting the radio if there are comments from the navigation?
I hope here are some experts who are able to help me!
Best regards from Luebeck
Micha
Hi,
I can't believe it: Not even one answer?
Is it really such a special task? I have thought that here in this forum there are only XDA-specialists???
Please, if there is someone who has an idea, please help!!!
Regards
Micha
Bump, I have a similar question in the Athena forum. Best guess I have is to mess with the registry to force the tomtom commands to not go through A2DP, but through HCP (phone signal) - that way priority is assured, but you may have to physically hang up the signal to get back to radio. At least the signal would start automatically....
As far as i know to allow the radio to be played in between tomtom voice commands you would need a fixed wired connection and also a car radio system that allows line in input to be switched on and off. The problem isnt the PDA the problem is the radio system in the car.

i have the same issue with the tytn2, i cant get my tomtom sound over my radio.
I'd appreciate it if anyone could help!
fwiw, I am still searching the forum for a solution. I have found some old bluetooth posts, that may hold the key:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281977
in particular, message #2 of thread, concerning BTAudioNav hack:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1046077&postcount=2
Some of this info is dated, so I haven't tried anything yet, and as the posts indicate, it takes 2 to tango. The WM6 device may be doing everything right, but the equipment you are pairing to may not be able to be configured correctly....
Update, BTAudioNav is not working, I assume that it is for PocketPC and I am running WM6
?!? Tomtom commands
[email protected]
I have the same problem.
Phone: HTC tytn2
Bury Wired Handfree
Perfect Sound Quality for Calls but: No system Sound, no TomTom Sound.
Yesterday i drive on the Highway, Tomtom was on and a call was incoming but the tytn2 was rebooting by him self .... AND NOW IT WORKS !
I hear all tomtom commands! I don't no why but it works!!!
Update, it seems that tomtom goes over the a2dp signal and not the handsfree profile.
If it was handsfree profile, it would cut into the car stereo music. A2dp doesn't have priority though with most car stereos.
Had I known this, I wouldn't of purchased tomtom....
