Stowaway Keyboard Drivers Wm 6.0 - General Accessories

This is really a bad news:
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=9&title=keyboard_blues_bad_news&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
Anyone think that will be possible to develop a driver by any other than iGo?
Any volunteer?
For me this keyboard is what allow me travel with only my PDA, not carrying any laptop. With this keyboard I can write e-mails and reports in a very comfortable way.
I will miss it very much.

Works just fine on my Trin with WM6. No issues at all.

I'm using this keyboard with my Prophet running WM6. The most perfect keyboard I ever have. The driver downloaded from the igo web site is perfect with WM6.
I also tried the generic HID driver built in WM6 and its also working fine, except the special shortcut on the keyboard. Normal typing is working fine.

Opera for BA

Does anybody know how to run Opera on XDA machines like I-Mate PDA2K?
Thank you in advance for any information.
Eugene.
It's not made for PPC, only SmartPhones
Perhaps you can try Minimo: http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/dougt/archives/008595.html

And please provide the cab file you used to install.
This should in no way be possible as SmartPhone and PocketPc are two wery different platforms.
Mninimo don't run, searching for other solution...
Unfortunately, Mininmo doesn't run on PDA2K. Does anybody here don't interesting in working Opera on our devices?
opera for smartphone works on my xda2 with wm5.0 due to the fact that ms is joining requirements of wm for smartphones and wm for ppc's (in order to express it in very simple words). under wm5.0 smartphone and ppc edition all programs should work on both platforms. usually the installer of a program detects the os where it is installed and obviously the smartphone installer accepts wm5.0
regards
peter
ps: btw, it does not only accept the installation, it even works perfectly (of course without touch screen support, because smartphones do not have one).
You're right. It doesn't work...
Hmmm....doesnt Nokia9500 run Opera?

Stowaway XT Keyboard Driver for all xda pda

install this tiny task switcher (can be assigned to a hardware button, I use the recorder as I hate pressing it & accidentally starting a new voice note!).. and not only will the key Alt-Tab between applications, BUT
if you Alt-Tab with your Stowaway XT, it will coolswitch between all running apps and open windows, just like PC-based Windows!

Hi, same as me.
As I upgraded my PDA to WM5 I'm not able to see working it again!.
Good news
I've got it.
Check this URL:
http://corporate.igo.com/support/Drivers.asp?ManufacturerID=44&ModelID=212
(click on Stowaway Sierra driver that fits on your language).
I've checked with the spanish one... I extracted the cab file and copied on my SD card. Once done I've executed on my PDA, I've selected the serial option, double soft reset.... And now it works.
Hope you too!

No.. It's working 100% on my i-mate JasJam.. I even have FtouchFlo installed and they work together perfectly after adding Execlude line in FTouchFlo config file
I'm running WM6 (Schap's 3.6)
lots of defect still there. way to go
Seems to work OK on my TyTN. Will continue to test.
Interesting app - lost of others have been trying to get the same thing done with limited success it would seem.
Doesn't work on my Hermes!
No Problems. It is working as expected.
I just installed it, and it is working very well and in combination with FTouchFlo, now i have a real touchflo cube that is perfectly configurabel.
i'am running shaps 3.54b GER ROM
cheerrs,
chaos42
work OK on my TyTN how can i work also and touch flo ?
I have tested touch commander on my HTC hermes. It's give a new way of navigation and you can program your own shortcuts
i have this application it is better that flash cube!!
but still it should assign to a button so i thought maybe with FTouchFlo it could be launch from screen.
any idea how to set FTouchFlo to launch touch commander?
edit the config file FTouchFloConfig.txt
DownUpApp: /Program Files/touchcommander.exe
DownUpAppCmdLine:
and it will work
yes i did it it is very cool, and faster start up with touch commander.
also i put TouchFlo shortcut in startup so even after soft reset it would work.
No luck with mine. After uninstalling, I get a message stating it's looking for touch commander.exe when I press the messaging button. I checked the button assignments in setting and button 1 is set for messaging.
Haven't found a fix yet, but that's a report on what I discovered.
New version Touch Commander 3.0
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=375111
installing now, will let you know
Nah, not working 100% on my hermes. Looks promising for the future once its being tweaked a bit
HELP
I purchased the 3.0 and it has soooooo many bugs and things I didn't wan that just sucked the life out of my device like battery indicator and htc home screen ect.....then I downloaded the new 3.1 which said it fixed the bugs I had complained about but didnt and in fact made my device crash so I had to hard reset. How I was suggested by their customer support to download an ealier version so I downloaded 2.0. It is exactly what I wanted and I am so happy but now I cannot register it. My registration code doesn't work for the 2.0.
My question to all of you on here is if anyone is interested in switching registration codes???? I will give you this code for 3.0 which also works for 3.1 if you give me your code for 2.0. I have contacted their support asking them for one with no response. I need this ASAP!!! Thanks and just shoot me a message if your interested!!!
So basically your asking someone for a code to version 2 which works in turn for a code for versions 3.0 & 3.1 which don't

TP2 and mice.....

Hi Folks,
I have wondering how to implement some kind of mousing on the TP2 since obviously it does lend itself to mini mini laptop activities. I did find a company called http://www.teksoftco.com which does a driver for bluetooth mice as well as USB optical mice.
Would it be wonderful if there was one of those spongy knobs in the middle of the keyboard for cursor manipulation like on those old IBM laptops.
Any comments, particularly the first bit.
Thanks,
Sam
Why would I want to install a mouse to the TP2? It's big enough already and having to drag around a mouse all the time where using the stylus is so much faster and easier? I don't really see the benefits of it....
I used to have a little BT mouse with my good old htc universal... great! simply great!! it would be nice to use it again with the TP2, but it's almost impossible to find the driver to download..and btw, would it work with wvga screens, or just regular qvga /vga ones??
@ kork: so little it's easy to lose it without noticing. a bunch of grams more, when I carry at work a bag of 3 4 kg is nothing noticeable
Hi cyberpunk,
I have jext got this from the tecksoftco site:
Name: BlueInput Driver for Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard
Version: 1.5.RC-4
Release date: November 5, 2008
Supported Platform: Pocket PC with Microsoft Bluetooth Stack / WM5.0 or newer / BT Mouse+Keyboard compatible
Supported Screen Size: SQUARE, SQUARE VGA, QVGA, VGA, WQVGA, WVGA (all)
So it looks positive... I will asks thought. Being from the UK I did a double take on "BT Mouse" thinking that it was sold by British Telecom(BT) but it is for "Bluetooth" - doh....
Sam
double post.... due to system hang

If you had a wireless mouse and were using the TP2 for video-out presentation or video viewing duties, it could make life easier. Seems like a pretty niche need though.
There are apparently drivers that let you use the phone as a USB host rather than client, allowing you to hook up mice, keyboards and even external HDs. I'm not sure if anyone has had any success, there's mention of it in the tricks sticky post in this forum.
yep, but someone reported them as not working. not so much discussion about this though too bad, blame on ppc manufacturers who don't consider this function! it's so important when on the move!
@samjolly: thanks a lot mate! do you know if this driver works on TP2, and mostly important with an old "thinkoutside bluetooth travel mouse"? it used to have its own drivers shipped...but it's been 3 or 4 years since i purchased it! tried on omnia and didn't work, argh °_°
PS: I'm a bit scared of trying for first delicate things like drivers without having heard any positive feedback first
forgive me guys, but xda is slooooooooooow and keeps sending 2 copies of every message I post. must be something wrong with it.

A note of caution; the TP2 doesn't use the Microsoft stack, unlike many other current HTC devices, that's why there are problems with some devices. I'm not saying it won't work but......

Folks,
This was my response from TeckSoftCo:
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
BlueInput is compatible with devices running Windows Mobile (minimum WM5.0) and that have the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack installed.
You can download a trial versin of BlueInput for free, from www.teksoftco.com and see if it runs well.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
So interesting point about TP2 apparently not using the MS BT stack which seems a bit weird.
Sam
thanks a lot to both samjolly and gordon for the useful info! I hope we'll be able to solve this mistery

dead thread, i see, but to answer last post, both the bluetooth and usb possibilities are there now on the teksoft site. looks like 10 euro for the usb hid driver, 15 for the broadcom bluetooth driver.
