Network problem with Australian c730 in other country - HTC Cavalier

Hi all!
I purchased a Dopod c730 in Australia and brought to Brazil. It's carrier unlocked, but it's losing the signal here in Brazil (Claro/Telmex telecom): sometimes its OK, sometimes the signal is zero (no nwtwork).
The initial screen says: "Network Wizard: Your current operator (72405) is not supported. You should obtain an update from your device vendor. Would you like to select another network provider?"
The problem is that when I go to the Network Wizard there are only Asia-Pacific countries and, therefore, the phone wont be configured correctly for Brazil.
Any ideas to fix this issue?
Txs a lot!

ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Smartphone/Cavalier/Shipped_Complete_Updates/
There is a zip file called elbows C730 tweaks. Download it, inside are three cab files, one of them is disable network wizard. That cab should do the trick (but your network wizard will be disabled).
As you can see from my location, I live in Southeastern Europe where Dopods netwiz does not work and it used to give me a hard time everytime I soft reseted my device. That cab did the trick.
Cheers

hi,
i guess i will need the same to use the network wizard in italy but i cant open the link

The access to the link is denied. Do I have to sign another part of the forum for that? Sorry for the lack of knowledge!

Try this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351462
Also try searching the thread.
As for Bad link, it is on FTP so you need login and password. If you did read WIKI, you would know how to login (login: xda, pass: xda).
So when you have time check http://wiki.xda-developers.com/.
Cheers

thanks it's working

Hi,
After testing the software, my mobile improved a lot... strangely, in the first days it continued to lose the network, but slowly became more stable and now I even risk turning it off without (much) fear of not having signal for few hours.
Txs a lot, ibeqa!!!!!!!!

Hi
I also have the same problem as MaFu on my C730 purchased in HonKong one month ago , I downloaded the file called 'elbows C730 tweaks' but I still have the problem : I can t receive calls and network signal desappears.
For information I'm using my phone with french provider ( Bouygues telecom) and my radio version is ; 1.43.50.00 operator : 5.2.1238.17745
sorry about the Rom I cant get it because lack of my knowledge
Please If some one can help me to find a solution.

World Network Wizard - not for P3600i?
Hi. Me new here, so pls be a little more patient for a while! )
After happily getting myself this new P3600i WM6 Eng toy, I set in the SIM and discovered that the Asian Network Wizard says my operator is not supported (I am in Europe). At the same time it does let me call and receive calls, although shows me in roaming (with no roaming charges so far.
I did not find the way to add countries and operators to the lists in that asian NW, so started looking for the European NW patch. Thanks to ron1004 and taiseer, I got "world network wizard" cab, but it does not seem to work: when installing, it mentions that it may not show up properly since it was made for the previous version of the sw (not exactly the citation, but smth similar). After the installation the original NW is not replaced and I see no other program icon that would enable me change my country/operator.
Is there any solution to that?
The unit has (all factory installed):
ROM 3.00.707.17 dated 06/29/07
radio 1.46.00.11
protocol 32.79.7020.19H
PS: HTC support is absolute sh.t: their new site shows no sw for the p3600i their hotline keeps footballing (me) from Aussi to HK to European locales, their emails do not reach me on either of my emails!

MDA COMPACT III Help Help help help!!!!!

I have been reading threads for 3 days. I am not new to gadgets, but I am new to the german language. I just biught a T-Mobile MDA Compact III-german. I need to convert to English and would like if possible to enable WiFi if I can. Would someone who is very smart send me-
1) The files I need
2) Step by Step directions
3) The best idea on GPS software and loading.
Help Help Help! I admit I am a NEWB, but without newbs, the rest of you wouldnt feel smart!!!!
Thanks for any help!!!!
If you don't mind loosing the T-mobile add-ons you can download the English version of the WM6 ROM from the HTC site. Be aware that you will start with a 'clean' sustem and that you have to configure your connections to be able to use GPRS and internet. At the site you can download the manual with the information about configuring your device including WiFi.
I'm not sure what you mean with "The best idea on GPS software and loading", are you talking about navigation software?
G.
I tried registering my phone with the serial number on my phone to get the update from the HTC website. Even though it is the equivalent of a HTC
P3300 phone, it wasnt recognised because it was sold as a T-Mobile device. So I couldnt get the download. Any other ideas?
Anyone have the file saved? Can media markt change it to english? I would rather do it myself just for learning purposes for future changes.

Softbank Japan ROM

Hi everyone,
I picked up the Softbank X02HT but it came with the Chinese ROM.
Since I'm using it in Japan, I'd like to switch over to the Japanese ROM.
I wasnt able to find the Softbank Japanese ROM anywhere online... perhaps someone had a suggestion?
Thanks for your help!
also very much interested in that
i am in a similar situation and already posted several requests about switching my Dopod ROM to a Softbank one or at least get all the important functions of the Softbank ROM working on my Dopod 730...but so far no reply.
if you receive any enlightenment please share it with me.
cheers
beefandcorn,
Im in the same boat as I picked it up in HK to use here in Tokyo
kinda ironic how it was setup to use here and now it only partially functions.
I cant seem to find a ROM anywhere for it as well
some of the settings from the X01HT will work.
Im tempted to go to softbank and get them to reflash it back but i have a feeling ill get busted for having an unlocked one.
The keyboard layout is f'd up not all the keys match, I can send SMS but cannot receive, and I cannot access internet via 3G...
What is your experience like so far in Japan for the dopod rom?
Using foreign ROM on Softbank network
Actually, I’m also using the HK ROM on the Softbank branded X02HT in Japan.
SMS and 3G Packet service works okay but it seems the MMS is impossible to get working.
Just to confirm, here are my settings for internet access.
In “Connections”, I have a connection that “Connects To” “The Internet”.
The access point is “softbank”, the username is “[email protected]” and password is “softbank”.
In “Proxy”, I didn’t have anything setup.
This is the paid packet service, where you pay per use.
I think you also need Softbank to have your plan include “packet service”.
It looks like you can also setup the flat rate internet service but I haven’t tried that.
Sorry, I’m not sure about SMS issues.
Is it possible to dump the ROM from a retail Softbank X02HT?
Then, we could flash the official ROM onto the phones and all the problems go away.
Hope it helps…
i agree
yes if somebody could provide a ROM dump of the softbank rom that would help... well also need to figure out HOW to flash it then...
The company I bought my phone from (mail order from the US) offered me to reflash the phone to the Softbank ROM but it is not cheap and I also would need to send it back to the US for that (and pay for the DHL/UPS costs)
So I would prefer doing it myself (if its not such a hassle)
Yea. I got my X02HT in HK, and although everything works fine here on AT&T, I'm having an issue with remembering where some of the symbols are.. since some of them don't match up... any luck finding the Original ROM?
It seems that the original Japanese ROM also has English. and I would assume that this ROM maps the Keys correctly... as opposed to the Dopod ROM installed now...
Please HLP w/ Tmobile WIZA200 in JAPAN...cant get signal
I'm starting to think there is no solution I have unlocked and uploaded and reloaded and re-unlocked, etc but still the same problem...My phone can not access the cellular network. I did a manual search and my phone does not acknowledge the JP Softbank network. I have put different kinds of ROM's and OS upgrades, etc, but still no success. I'm starting to think that these great unlocked PDA's only work in Europe and North America and not in JAPAN.
I have seen several other threads with others having the same problem so I am going to try to ask this question in several different threads.
I have no errors and everything works fine in the process, just like everybody says it does, but still nothing for acquiring a signal. It just either shows an exclamation point or searching dots. I have compared the various carrier options on my phone to other Softbank phones and everything is the same networks except acknowledging the Softbank network.
I'm praying there is some smart person out there who can figure this out...PLEASE...PRETTY PLEASE...
Works on DoCoMo but NOT on Softbank
I also have a Dopod ROM and funny thing is, the phone works like a charm on the DoCoMo Network (Phone and SMS) but when I pop in a Vodafone SIM it cannot even connect to the Softbank network
Very Strange...
we have a thread going on this issue and maybe you can add some input.

No GSM Signal

I have an HTC S620 (Original HTC)
Running WM6.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=374890)

Wifi Works Fine,No Problems
But i became no Gsm Signal,it Takes my Pin and Displays "Sim card pro" (is Normal, its an A1 Austra card-it displays this on every Phone)
but then stands on the Display "Searching" ive waited 2hours and tested 3 Sim Cards and 4 Roms,Nothing Helps
i also Flashed from HERE
The "HTC WM6 WWE ROM - 4.1.13.44_02.94.90" and also "Rogers WM6 Radio - 4,1,13,47_02.98.90",doesnt Help
any Suggestions?
Sry for My Bad english :'(
Have you also tried the Radio-Rom "T-Mobile WM6 Radio - 4.1.13.34_02.79.90 " from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332195 ?
Re-Flash Kavana or Ricky's 6.1 ROM - It's stickied. Choose either one of them.
Set it up. Pop in your SIM Card and Try again.
Check if your phone is off just incase (in the settings).
If you've done everything and you still can't get the gsm signal and it keeps searching, then either you have a problem where you live or your phones defective. Did you try going outside? Maybe you have a weak signal where you live? Let us know.
Good Luck!
ok,Have Reflashed.-No help
The Phone is Activated
Outside also No Signal
The Signal here is Good, with my Other S620 (MDA Mail without wifi)
i have no Problems
Ahh, That Sucks then all I can think of that there's something wrong with your phone i.e. it's defective. Get it replaced !
Good Luck.
Just wondering does the original rom work that came with your phone. Also what is your provider.
the Original Rom was:
HTC_S620_WWE_1.27.405.1_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship
This Worked Fine
The HTC is an US Device (QWERTY),i Use it here in Europe (Austria) with an Mobilkom Austria-A1 Sim Card
I Reflashed it Now,but no Help

Ummm you might need to configure the settings on that phone because you said the original rom worked however the new one didn't. Here try this on the new rom that you have installed (assuming its the 6.1 by Ricky if not download it from below in my signature). After you installed it or have it installed then go to accessories and connection setup and that should get you rolling.

Ok first of all there are few service provider cab you can find for your country... well i had problem to get GPRS working tried the customer service but no use... then i installed the cab (for me it's optus, Australia) and i didn't need to touch settings at all .. it just connected automatically to GPRS... so best option will be to find the appropriate service provider cab for your country and install...
Cheers

thanks rajiv,
but the issue is not with settings , i just want to make sure whether it is some hard ware issue, all functions are perfectly ok and it is a friends handset and we have used gprs some time back also.

Bro it's really hard to tell weather it's hardware isuue or not from such a little information... but it should not be hardware issue in my opinion... well try different service provider and try to install the cab and see... it should work...
