Try this. Gives you a today plugin for wireless and bluetooth

Close
The only thing I would like different is if it didn't open up the comm. Manager to actually switch it, if it made the change right from the home screen it would be perfect, anyone know of something like that???I found something called cicleBT that work well however its not on the Today screen home page, I have the HTC home plugin and can put it in the app launcher and its cool. Any way of making it so it works as a plugin on the home screen.

Nice! Haven't seen this one before.

can this be changed to be a plugin
Just want to see if there was a way of making this so that it was a plugin on the today home screen say just under the HTC home plugin aligned to the left side and have my calendar show up to the right of it??? A nice little icon there that is large enough to use my finger to push???
Anyone know how to do a mod like this??
Thank you I wish I knew how to do it, any help would be appreciate.
Cheers!!

are you lookin for freeware? b/c if NOT then spb phone suite has today screen components, 1 of which is like a button that displays a sub menu allowing you to turn phone, bluetooth, and wi-fi on/off and also flight mode. you can even tap and hold on each to access more options (ex: bluetooth modes, vibrate etc.) i dont want to sound like i'm selling this to you, but it's a great app. maybe the 1 app i install over every rom.
more info here
more screens here

search for a program called pockettoolman its freeware.

yeah freeware
Definately looking for a freeware to do this, not really wanting to pay for an icon on the today screen. I found this cab but can't get it to work looks like what I want but it don't work

HELP needed any good coders...............
I have found a quick launcher on the web with 5 icons to launch apps. Is there any coders out there that can manipulate this for me to 3 icons, bluetooth toggle on/off, wifi toggle on/off, and phone toggle on/off, justified to the left side of the today screen, again I am using an att 8525 with the att rom. Any help would be appreciated. thank you all in advance.
cheers,
attached is the cab for the quick launcher.

I am beating this to death
I am sorry to keep on with this, this is the last CAB that i will upload I really hope someone can help me with building what I want but til then this little plugin will suffice. Please try and help me with what I described above in the other posts. thanks.

the plugin you want CommCEntric v1.11 (hell I want it if someone can make it into a today plugin for pocket pc) is an xml file. unfortunately you need some type of a homescreen to view it. I dislike the homescreen concept because they take up so much space, but I love the look of comcentric)
hopefully anyone technically inclined can make it into a cab that will make it viewable on a pocket pc screen (not just smartphone)

Has anyone figured out a way to make the commcentric app work for pocketpc??? Would love just to have the Bluetooth icon on home screen and be able to toggle just bluetooth on/off....any help here would be appreciate, basically bluetooth icon on the left with my calendar plugin showing up next to it on the right...
Cheers!

The easiest way to do this is to use cLaunch (http://pachome1.pacific.net.sg/~welic/claunch.html) which allows you put to icons onto your today screen. It's really configurable so you can just have a couple of icons, or your can have multliple tabs with many icons on. You need to play about with it to get it working how you want, but it'll do what you're looking for.
For the Bluetooth icon, here's a useful utility that toggles Bluetooth on and off without opening CommMgr. Copy it into Program Files on your phone and cLaunch should be able to see it so that you can have the bluetooth icon on your today screen.
An even simpler method is to stick BTSwitch in your Program Files and then map one of your soft buttons to it... No need to take up any screen real estate with pretty icons!!

Where exactly do I navigate to to put the BTSwitch so I can map it to a button already on my phone, what a brilliant idea! Thanks, I just don't know what to do with it. I have placed it in several locations and went to map the button but can't find the file....I am dumb or am I missing soemthing.
Thanks and Cheers!

Sorry, should have been more specific!
Put the BTSwitch.exe file into Windows/Start Menu/Programs. You can then use the standard Settings > Buttons method to map one of the hardware buttons to the BTSwitch programme.
You can also map one of the soft buttons at the bottom of the screen, but will need a separate utility to do that... (eg Schap's Advanced Config : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317070)
Also, have a look at these threads for other ways of changing your soft keys:

There is no manual, but play with it and you will figure it out...

System Tray M2000/xda2s/pda2k

I use pocketplus to put icons on the desktop of my pocketpc. what i would like to do is remove the system tray icons (i.e. bluetooth and wifi) and use them through wireless manager application. i dont mind if i remove the new menu as well and be able to open a new message document from a shortcut. i hope you understand what im trying to do.
this will make my desktop look a lot neater. also i use pocketplus to create icons on desktop, battery meter and backlight control, close applications. is there any other application out there that takes up less system memory cos i hate having to soft reset once a day. also how do you put this pocketpc in 'flight mode'
thanks

O2 standard Apps

Does anyone know where I can download and install the standard O2 apps that are installed as part of the WM5 customization after a hard reset?
I've just upgraded my Orbit to WM6 and am missing these as they were really useful. I'm not intrested in other apps as I know these O2 ones worked fine and didn't drain the battery etc etc.
The 3 I'm after are,
1) Running Apps for the Today screen
2) Battery Meter
3) Memory usage Meter
4) O2 task manager shortcut Icon
Thanks.
These will be the ones I'm after, all shown on this review just before half way down the page in the screen shots.
http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/4wm-reviews-hardware/7982-o2-xda-orbit.html
Meters allows you to show up to three level meters for Battery, Memory, and Storage card. Each meter can be tapped on to show; a plain bar, the bar with percentage, or bar with Mb free.
Running Apps displays a simple line of icons indicating which programs are currently running in the background, tapping the icon switches to that program.
Shortcuts allows for up to five shortcuts to be configured for launching, tapping on the icon launches the program.
Task Manager - this is activated via the 'O2 bubble' which resides in the bottom bar of the today screen. A single tap on it brings up a brushed metal pop-up which displays the running applications and an options menu. The 'X' next to the listed applications allows each application to be terminated manually when required. Options allows you to select which O2 Custom Today applets are usable on the Today screen, as well as allowing you to define the shortcuts for the Shortcut applet.
They are all in the 'Items' menu of the 'Today' setup in preferences. You need to turn on Meters, Profiles and Shortcuts.
Thanks for the reply and they woudl be if I was still running my O2 ROM and it had run the customization to install them after a hard reset but I've upgraded to BEBE's WM6 ROM which doesn't have any of the O2 utils loaded.
Anyone else on where I can get these? Would anyone with an O2 Orbit ROM be able to pull the customization CAB install files out of their ROM somehow for me?
I just sent you a PM. I can email them to you.

Can you upload these files somewhere?
I just checked the ftp site and they are already there...
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Artemis/Extended_ROMs/O2_Orbit_UK_1.25.206.101_extended_rom.zip
Big thanks to Mark for that and the email. All loaded on and the meters runnings apps and O2 bubble task manager are all there and I'm almost back to where I was on WM5..
However SPB Time fails to wake up the phone from a screen saver locked state with sound, sure it'll flash up the screen with snooze or dismiss red and green buttons but no sound errm kinda makes it useless as an Alarm Clock and as I'm sure all the rest of you out there do I really rely on my phone as an Alarm.. I've been late 2 days in a row now because of this, no joke so.. errm kinda critical for me to get fixed..
Any ideas people. I've even un installed the paid for version I had and installed the latest version (trial) from their site
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/time/download.html?en
Hello,
At the risk of sounding stupid, I've just downloaded the zip file for the extended roms. I've unzipped it and gathered from the config file that I should place the cab files in specific locations... My question is, is there a (semi)automatic way of installing it? If not, should I follow the paths found in the config file? Also, there are a few files missing, ie the bmp files, do I need them? Lastly, what about the config.txt the file... where is that to be placed?
Sorry for the barrage of questions Noob here, just want to make sure I understand this the right way!
Thanks for all the help!

PS. 1st post, great site btw!!

screen orientation for applications

Hi, Guys
Great job on all the different ROMS.
Is it possible to set the screen orientation for specific applications. ie stay in standard portrait mode, but say I open email or tom tom. I would like the screen to change to landscape automatically and when I exit the program the screen to revert back to portrait mode. If not does any one know of an app that can do this.
cheers
That has to be written into the application.
It used to be an option in Tomtom 5, but it was a feature that was removed for Tomtom 6.
Opera browser will landscape independantly of the OS.
Sadly developers have have starting thinking that as screen rotation is available from Windows, they don't need to add it to their applications.
I'm not aware of any extra application that would monitor other opening applications and switch the display accordingly.
thanks for the quick reply. Guess I will have to manually change before opening.
just find this:
wisbar advance 3
Features
Compatible with WM2003, WM2003SE, WM5 and WM6 touchscreen devices
Uses a smaller memory footprint than WisBar Advance 2
Customize the close button, the screen orientation and the SIP on a per-application basis
Switch between any application currently running on your device
Provides a cascading start menu (as in the screenshot)
Tap and hold the OK button to cancel a dialog
Add or remove functions to the taskbar
Each button on the taskbar can be assigned a tap and a tap-and-hold action
Place shortcuts in the system tray for easier access from the Today screen
Customize a "User Menu" with applications of your choosing
Change the appearance of the taskbar, menubar, buttons and start menu in any program
Supports QVGA and VGA devices
Customize the clock's appearance on the taskbar
Hear sounds for system events, just like on your desktop
Download and install themes created by other people
I assigned the internet explorer button (bottom right) to "rotate screen".
thanks for the post,
Pete - seems to be the best solution without having to install extra apps. cheers

My Ideal ROM

hi
Current ROM 2.12.04 WWE o2. It's not bad and only has a few problems with the camera driver and an rtc error thing that happened once (VoIP) since then I have no service, but maybe out of good range (datarate). It's got pdf good PIE resolution and other things like a MIDlet manager that has a gamecanvas object which ignores most of the keyboard, and does not remember my allow connect settings. Should really be a com manager option to decide data shut off timeout.
I would like the title and menu bar to be smaller and have better document scrolling and navigation via keyboard standard shortcuts. Shift + cursor?? for fast scroll. I would like pocket office to remember my zoom setting, and they should be global.
radio: walki talki features on wifi. good use of pick up button in closed clam down way.
main rom: faster and factored for smaller cache footprint and flash footprint. Remove the empty pixels around controls. have bat level as colourization of title bar and memory garbage/heap compaction improvements. any spare flash as disk. a close timeout on applications. close button replaced by task button throughout. fewr unused msn market and searchie tools. regular button toolkit used throughout including dialer and com manager. no error when restarting gsm. multiple sync personalities to keep my data off other backup pcs and not flooding my outlook with work notes. not having to replug usb when switching ICS, acitivesync or data storage on and off. a voip config tool inbuilt multiprofile depending on network stored with number (contact groups). the outlook email is not suitable without a good spam filter so I use web email. graphiti sip and keyboard only. make it open at side on landscape view. all device export to pc so can use as softphone audio, and as big pc keyboard etc. selectable. no boot logos straight to today. a few xtra colours by using delta arround colour wheel to get all colours used in any scheme, say green look can be made a blue look by a slider.
extension rom: blank storage with inbuilt (deletable) cabs for skype and others. skype using default toolkit. dst in main rom. video calling. eTcl and some other development tools, such as total commander and pockethtml. htc network storage.
ok I would upgrade to this. I suppose a cab extractor for no desktop needed installing would be too much to ask,
cheers jacko
Oxygen Font Instead of BOOT pics
hi
better subliminal advert than all this reminder that o2 and ms are the agents of the reboot

[REQ] Need very simple sound switcher

Look here! How it must be: after I click on sound icon in taskbar, sound switches to vibro mode, after next tap - switches to silent mode, after next tap - again normal mode. etc. No windows, no messages etc.
There are already apps that toggle the sound profile as you described. But to do it using the taskbar icon would require for the taskbar to be hacked...
I know that many apps can use taskbar and change it.
So I think it is possible.
OK. I thought you wanted to use the native taskbar... Using Wisbar to skin the topbar you should be able to link to PFSwitcher and do what you wanted.
Yes, i still want to native taskbar except one icon : )
I think, if Wisbar can replace all icons, that means it is able to write small app which can control just one icon.
So yah there are 2 parts to this request, the Taskbar run, and then the toggle.
Not sure BattClock has a configurable hotspot, but there are apps with hotspots with a config.
As far as the toggle part, there are a few vibra togglers I have listed in the Mortscript Source Compendium. Some of them work without any scripting. There are also many Toggle scripts located in the Mortscript examples, as well as collected in the compendium.
Thanx for tip )

TouchLockPro has indeed the possibility to detect the clock press and couple a command to it. For BattClock it is on the wish list. But of course you should then still have a program for toggling coupled to that.
