no sound, only heard crackle - P3300, MDA Compact III General

no sound HTC P3300, only crackle in speaker, through earphones too not audible. Help who faced with such problem.
Thank you!!!!

Hi,
I think I have similiar problem as yours, only crackle sound...At the very beginning, I assumed that I had faulty on speaker. I managed to get a replacement speaker from ebay (search for "xda orbit buzzer" for those do not have sound at all).
After the replacement, I am now dissappointed as the problem still the same.
Furthermore, I just realised that this crackle sound still occur when using earphone. What a fool I am!! I should have test it first!
Anyway, I just want to point out that my speaker is working fine but what is my actual problem for this crackle sound?? Anyone have this problem and how to solve? Anyway response would be appreciated.
Many thanks!

Quick question: Do I have a bad speaker? Please help

OK, so, I got an sx66 off ebay for $19.50 (sorry to the gentleman I outbid).
Problem is, the speaker doesn't work quite right. I had a wallaby and seem to remember sounds being much louder than they are this sx66.
When I tried a test call to my wife, she could hear me, but I couldn't hear her, and when I did, it seemed like she was whispering and (it seemed like) my volume was down almost all the way (both volumes were turned all the way up).
I didn't try the headset with a call, but did try it with general use clicks and menues, and the headset sounded alright.
Bad speaker or bad chip?
TIA!
EDIT: Just tried the headset while on the phone with the wife; it sounded ok. I also plugged in the headset about 30x, just to make sure the little headset sense switch was not malfunctioning. It didn't effect anything.
HELP, please.
[SOLVED]
Got impatient and threw in a Razr speaker.
Problem solved for now, but I want a real speaker, or upgraded speaker. I already posted in market place, but if your reading this, do you know where to get one, or which speakers will fit, that's an upgrade?
TIA
In the photo's you can see an sx56 and sx66 speaker, and the earphone and speaker phone from a Razr. Also a closeup of the sx56 and 66 speakers (it would have helped me earlier to have found that)

voila there ya go. id still say get a asis one but if you just wnat hte speaker thereyago.
yeah... thanks dude, I just got that one last night.
Upgrades here I come.

Poor magnetic shielding

Hi all looked through the forum but can't see anyone else mentioning this.
When i have headphones pluggged into my Desire there is a noticeable hissing noise coming through them (I have a pair of fairly expensive Shure headphones) which seems to come on and off depending on whether the phone thinks it should be outputting noise. Anyone else noticed this? Was dead silent on my Iphone.
Anyway, as per the title above, when i am listening to music etc through the headphones in addition to the hiss i have just described i can hear the phone connecting to the network. Not sure how best to describe the sound sorry but it's like the one you get if you put your phone next to a speaker while you're making a call. It's not particularly loud but is extremely annoying. It's intermittent and seems to mainly occur when the phone is using GPRS or Edge.
It also occurs when i receive a call with my headphones plugged in.
Has anyone else experienced this or can anyone else test this by listening to music through headphones and browsing the web or similar?
I'm assuming it's down to poor magnetic shielding but want to see if it's just my phone or common to the Desire in general.
Cheers
No problems here using my Shure SE210 earphones. Whisper quiet using Meridian Player for both Videos and Music (FLAC).
Have you tried the earphones you get with the phone, or indeed other earphones? Just to try and isolate the problem...
I also have Shure SE210 and I rather don't use them with the Desire. The static level is just over the roof! What's more I also dislike the sound as a whole, it's tiny. I guess an equilizer could relieve this.

So has anyone else noticed this issue?
I use Shure SE210s too. But my point was they worked absolutely fine on my iPhone - this is why I believe the problem to be down to the phone hardware not the headphones. I can live with the slight static but the phone buzzing noises are unacceptable.
Hi,
I have the same issues (GPRS/EDGE noises). With any headphones I use, I can hear the phone accessing the data network. The problem is gone, when I'm on wifi. May this be related to custom ROMs and kernels? I really want to get this fixed
OK, I fixed it. Apparently I had the "only use 2G networks" option turned on! Now with 3G the issue is gone
Reviving an old thread here, but just wanted to say I have this problem with a pair of Sennheiser CX300's and Creative Aurvanas. Airplane mode doesnt help at all. As long as the phone is outputting sound, it's hissing. It lasts about four seconds after it has stopped playing sound. It is being retunred tomorrow, after HTC claimed it was not a known problem with the phone, and told me to try and return it.
The same earbuds work without a problem on a Nokia 5800 (Xpress Music "Tube") and an iPhone 3G. If this is a problem with all Desires, mine will be returned for my money back. You can't advertise a phone as a heavyweigth media phone with such a MAJOR flaw.

This hissing noize you talk about which is only 4 seconds long also happens on my iPod touch, so I don't think its a massive problem
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Listening to tunes on desire with my sennheiser 555's and it sounds excellent...
Get a very slight click when WiFi connects.

The hissing noise is present all the time while the phone is producing sound AND four seconds after. So I would say it is a pretty big problem.

Sennheiser PX 200-II problem

Hallo everyone. I just bought Sennheiser PX 200-II headphones and when i touch jack while playing music i am getting sparkling sounds or one side stops playing.. headphones works very well on PC only on this phone, also i had koss porta pro that worked well.. i am really disappointed because this phone was made for music.. (oh my god HTC so many issues on one phone?) Can anyone give any tips?
Thanx
Have you tried the original earphones that came with the phone or any other earphones/headphones? If so do you have the same issue?
I've been using various headphones with HOX and haven't had an issue at all.
Only on these
Same problem
Hi.
I've got the same problem myself... at first I thought that it was the audio file
My temporary solution is to use my P5's (superior sound, but I don't like exposing them to harsh conditions...)
I'd be happy if someone found a REAL solution to this!

Hissing noise in left ear when playing music through headphones

Anyone experiencing a hissing noise in the left ear when playing music with headphones? It's more obvious in some songs and its really irritating once you've noticed it.
Seems to be the same problem the G2 has: THAT Kitkat Audio Bug - Hissing/Crackling. - xda-developers
Yes, me to. It's very anoying. Hope it will be sorted out otherwise I return the G3 to shop
I have the same problem here. only left earphone having hiss noise during a music play or anything.
Do you think this can be fixed by a software update or should we refund the device?
LG G3
Android Version 4.4.2
Kernel: 3.4.0
Build No: KVT49L.A1402575277
Thanks

I have a G2 running the lastest euro open rom and the issue is still there. Nothing has been fixed! Lets face it... They either don't want to or don't know how to fix it...
Hello
While I do not get a hiss I am getting distortion from the LG G3 in the left on earphone - I have found that it happens on the earbuds you get with it along with my Sennheiser, both have them inline volume controls. My Sony earbuds do not have the inline volume control and I do not get that distortion. All earbuds testing on other devices and working perfect. You can hear the distortion in say low volume parts of say the Man of Steel soundtrack.
Anyone else have this issue with distortion in the left?
Thanks.
For people who are "not sure" if they have this issue: play some music with rhythmic bassline, then go to Settings --> Accessibility ---> in hearing section move the "balance" slider to the right. Now you should hear the distortion in its clear form in the left phone.
... would be interesting to see how many have this - I would pop round a few shops this weekend and try out some demo units to see if they also have the issue - however I am moving so no time - Would like to know if everyone with the G3 has the issue or some.
Its not something you have to listen very hard to notice - something with a bit of bass effect - I notice it on Man of Steel soundtrack, 1m 12s in on the track DNA.
By the way is the same if you use in inbuilt music player or my preferred player PowerAmp, of course all effects are off. The media files themselves are flacs which I use in testing audio equipment, so I know the files themselves are perfect.
I have this too. But it also seems very picky about which AUX-cable to use. Ive tried 5 different wich I know all works well.. tested them both with another phone and my Nexus 7. With 3 of them the phone doesnt even recognize its plugged in, the sound continues to play though the phones speakers. With the fourth one I get sound but very noisy and when i rotate and wiggle the cable it gets more noisy and static. With the fifth cable I dont get any of that but the left channel is still a bit noisy at certain parts in the songs, just like you describe in this thread.
Do you think all this is related to the same problem or have I also gotten a phone with a bad jack?
Hey Dyln
You have come to the same conclusion I have come to. Really not sure whether to ask for a replacement and find I get the same experience (alot of hassle for nothing) - Just find its really funny about what headphones you use. I am not liking that my £50 Sennheiser earbuds for gym do not sound as good as my other devices - Is that a batch issue on the hardware side?, is it a software issue (like G2)? God knows !... just annoying as its otherwise a great phone.
Christopher.
Hi I have the same issue with a pair of Shure SE-846 (9 Ohm). Very annoying. Hope this will be fixes soon or I have to get an in-line resistor to increase the impedance. There is (almost) no noise with headphones above 32 Ohm.

I don't have hissing on mine, using the stock Quadbeats and iPhone5 headphones. I have the F400K Korean model. (I am familiar with the hiss as my old G2 had it (was fixed when I was using one of the Cloudy custom rom though).
Distortion and feedback in between songs playing in car with 3.5mm jack
I've just posted over here which is I reckon a related issue involving the 3.5mm jack....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/aux-cable-problem-t2802719
At the risk of repeating myself I'll just copy and paste in here too...
"I have a similar issue with the 3.5mm audio jack cable in the car.
Although i have tried a couple of cables and they do produce audio out of the speakers, I have a nasty problem whenever there is a gap between tracks, or when listening to radio if I pause it for more than 1 second.
It's as if the LG is cutting the power to the aux cable, so that when the music is restarted, or more annoyingly of all after EVERY song when played straight from the device, there is a nasty distorted feedback coming from the left speaker.....
Surely this is related to what the folks are saying over here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g...music-t2804065
It never happened in my car with my Galaxy S4 or my Galaxy Note before that.
I'm seriously considering returning the handset as this noise is just not bearable - it's getting near a deal breaker for me.
edit: should have mentioned it also happens when an incoming call ends, the music cuts back in with a big old distortion/feedback."

I am also having the same issue with my unit. Do you guys think that an update can fix this? I had my G3 replaced for having a damaged screen. I don't want to return it to the retailer again because of the buzzing sound.

It's good to know that there will likely be an easy fix. Even if that app has some compatibility issues, I'm sure a G3 version would come out.
LG G3 Hiss noise on left headphone
I did quite research on this issue.
Here is what I did:
Tried with 7 different high end - low end headphones. All having same issue on left headphone
My friend has the same phone, he is having the same issue
Went to Retail and tested 2 different phones, both having the same issue.
Tried with different songs, but the best songs you can listen to understand the noise is solo piano songs.
Try to listen this song: Ludovico Einaudi - I Giorni
If anyone has bluetooth headphone, I would like to see the test result. So we can understand if this is hardware or a software issue.
If bluetooth fails, It could be software otherwise most likely a hardware issue.
I thought this was a KitKat issue... so returning your G3 won't do any good. I experience this also. I'm not sure why Google hasn't made a fix for this yet.
Brilliant, thanks Online111; was meaning to pop round some retail shops to test out other G3's. Looks like it is a personal choose then if you can bear it or not. Was very nearly going to get a swap out.
Christopher.

Anyone encounter a dead speaker??

One day while watching a video I noticed the sound was a little off and I was only getting sound out of one speaker. I don't listen to music or anything loud enough to warrant blowing a speaker. Has anyone encountered the same issue? Only one speaker works. I'm rooted and running cm.
Speaker issue
I'm running CM11 M9 by infected_ with no issue.
