um... i already broke my plastic cover lens, and dirt and dust keep clogging the main lens inside, so thats not a good idea.
i wonder if the camera settings can ever be fixed. there a no applications that cantake pics with the built in camera, and all rom's seem to be hosting the same camera app.

Is it me, or is camera quality really bad?

I just got a HTC Touch Pro 2 (Sprint) and really love it, but one thing that bothers me is the camera.
When I try to take pictures, the picture is VERY blurry and grainy, am I doing something wrong? I tried all of the resolutions and they are all the same. Not to mention, the camera kind of lags when I'm trying to take a picture...
Any suggestions?
Gotta have good lighting ...

Ive noticed sometimes if you take off the back cover and clean the lens on both the back piece and the acctual camera it can make a huge difference. I dont know how long youve had it but if its been awhile, that might help...
The camera is not too good. However it does take decent picuteres if you makesure the lens cover is clean on the outside and inside. some people have suggested removing the plastic piece altogether. there are a whole bunch of threads about it.
What you describe is bad background light. You have some light profiles, so try them. The camera doesnt have much resolution, flash light is absent, but still its more sensible than a nokia from that era.
The lens cover on the back will get scratched and it really makes for some bad pix.
I have a post about this a long while back.
But anyways, take battery cover off and try to take a pic and see how it looks. If you see a improvement buy a new battery cover. Or just the lens cover out of the battery cover. That's what I usually end up doing on all my phones. Sure the real camera lens may gets dust but its glass and its reccessed enough to not get scratched.
Try this and report back

Scratch near camera lens?

Hi All,
I have some scratches/scruff marks on the back of my phone, under the camera lens. The area itself has grooves, but it looks as though the paint has been chipped off or something. Has anyone seen anything like this before or has any idea of how to possibly fix it? It's not dust; I've tried wiping it off.
Thanks

I have the same problem but its a lot worse It doesnt bother me but I think the only fix is replacing the housing. Lucky for you its very easy to switch housings and you can even use this as an excuse to try out a white housing if you like that look better. On ebay the gray housings are like 16-20 and the white housing is 25 at the time of this writing.

Glass/Plastic for the camera

Hi, I just noticed the glass over my camera lens or whatever it is is scratched. I've been searching for replacement parts but everywhere i see, there's only full housing/backplate sold in the net..Some of it doesn't even come with the glass thingy.
May I know whether I can find it anywhere?
Thanks.

i think it´s attached to the lens and sensor, so you must replace the whole camera part. no warranty if it´s not attached because i don´t know it exactly

At around 2:12 , you'll see the glass is not attached to the sensor. It is with the backplate. Problem is I can't find anyone selling just that piece of plastic/glass..

Possible to clean dust from behind the camera lens?

Hi,
I noticed some dust behind my camera lens, but not sure if the camera module comes apart to clean behind there?
Technically I guess the dust is in the space between the actual lens and the glass cover, as the dust is clinging to the underside of the glass cover.
I'm happy to take apart my phone to access the camera module, but was concerned that the camera module might be sealed to where the glass cover is inaccessible? Anyone ever check this?
https://youtu.be/iS02J12I1MU
Here you can see how it gets apart. It is actually very easy.
But i have one question, how did you get dust under the glass of the camera?
I am asking because i work in dusty environment and i didn't get any.....
Thanks!
I never got any dust under my camera lens and really liked that about the camera design, but after suffering the bootloop/motherboard error I sent my camera to LG repair in Texas and received the camera back, with bonus dust included FREE! under the lens.
Could you please tell me even i am also facing this kind of issue(dust covered camera lens) in Lenevo k8 Note.
Please help me to comeout of this issue.
Thanks

You need to look in your own devices threads if there are some.
If not google it. This is a LG thread you wont find an answer here

Lg G4 camera lens change

Hi guys, has anyone in here changed their G4 camera lens. I mean just the lens, not the whole frame plus lens?
I got my lens, but realised that there was no frame included. Also i realized there is no video from popping the glass out. So does the lense pop out with preasure to the center of the frame? And how is it attached?
Sorry for nooby question...

So here is how u do it, got some help in G4 google + group.
Give the old lens some heat. I used hair dryer to get bit of temp. Then u might wanna use a soft tool to press the old lens out from the center.
Cleaned the old frame->put some glue, really tiny amount to the ring, trying not to hit glue to the center->new lens in 2sec hold still
Then its done. Lets see how it sticks.
Edit: As the final result, i would say dont buy just the lens. Buy the whole part and change it...
