i have just taken t-mobile dash and love it it came with windows mobile 6 but i just wana upgrade to kavana rom or rickys rom
i have tried several times but i get error on completing 3% it shows Error 270 ur file is corrupt.
please help me guys or give me the link for downloading fresh rom.
i want realplayer of a player which can play rm file

once again..this topic is posted daily. use the search or scroll through some threads on here...you will find the answer..i dont get why people post an issue before bothering to read...
as far as i know now, you need to go in bootloader. Keep the sym camera button, then turn the power on. You will go to bootloader screen.
Then plug in the usb connect to the PC . Flash ur original ROM . You can find a lot here

I have just tried to update the rom on my xda exec (downloaded from the o2 microsite) it seems to load fine, but when i do a reboot I just get a wierd green & red speckled screen.
I have tried to update the rom twice now, once when the xda was on, & once from the bootloader screen.
Both times it seems to install correctly, but i get the strange screen.
HELP!!!
Add. My battery seemed to go to about 30% whilst i was updating. Could it be the battery? Can't charge it now to test. Can still get in bootloader screen.

I have exactually the same problem!
I downloaded the latest ROM from the My-XDA webiste (O2 Ireland) and it supports the XDA Exec as sold in UK and Ireland.
The upgrade goes fine but when I hard reset it just get a fuzzy screen full of red/green spots (lise interferance on a TV).
Have reinstalled the ROM from another PC and the same thing.
Can access the bootloader (v2.01) with no problem.
Have downloaded the ROM from another PC and tried from there and same thing?
Can anyone help?
Is there a known good ROM file that someone has used to rule out the file, as the XDA was fine until I ran the update.

I have tried 2 other ROM's on my XDA Exec and its exactually the same issue.
Once it gets flashed successfully and reboots i get the hazed screen which i cannot use. So its not the ROM file.
Has anyone got help with this, I have searched the posts already and found no solution that it why I have posted this thread.

I too am having this problem and am getting very frustrated.
I have searched the forum for hours and am not getting any closer to a sollution.

IT WORKED!
Not sure how, or why this worked.
But i installed the Crossbow ROM as listed previous and its working.
And can I just say the Exec is brillant now, its much faster, more responsize and works perfectly.
Thanks for the info, but I had tried 2 different ROM's previously and they never worked let I used one previously with no problems.
Either way I am now staying with Mobile 2006.

i have the same problem as you guys.
and more i can get my xda exec in to bootloader usb at the top and v2.01 at the bottom
but when i got to update it with the wm6 upgerade mentioned earlier
i get a connection error, please con somee one help
im using vista could this be the problem i have a hdd around some where that has xp on should i try that.
also i dont know is any of you knew but when ur in that messed up screen
if you press the lightbuld button a sort of i guess diagnostics or somthing screen pops up

you can change the no/yes's iv only got the enable kitl to do anything though. change it to yes buy using the buttons by the screen and then the center button it take you to the screen below

Hey guys, I've used the search function to find an answer to this 262 error when updating to the latest rom. Mostly the answer was that the HardSPL needed to be installed, yet I've soft reset my phone and checked that hardspl has been installed.. and it has?
I've tried about 4 times now, and each time the install bar doesnt get any further than 0%. Any help or abuse welcome, please use small non technical words because I'm new to this, and all your abbreviations are driving me wild
which version on Hard SPL do u have? (can be checked by going into bootloader - instructions in Wiki)
What ROM are u trying to Flash?

It is so damn annoying, nomatter what I do I keep getting that darn error :S
This happens with evrything that I try to install.
The onlything that I have been able to install was HardSPL.
But even tho I installed it, does it not work :/

after phone couldnt powered on, been doing the tri color thing and tryed to upgrade to nrg's rom. while running the uspl it says phone not connected, but when i running the update it does recognize the phone till it gives the error 270
any suggestions why phone seem to b unconnected while trying runing uspl? thx

Try using your stock ROM from bootloader....

Flash via SD Info of name for file can be found via search or in NRG thread know it was stated... "would find it but very limited data and pap speed"
managed to flash the beautiful rom of nrg-thanks a lot for this rom..
i cant seem to b able to c the windows folder though....

sorry first of all for my english i'm from bulgaria. but guys i have a huge problem with me diamond it start been slow with the original wm6.1 and start to behave very strangly i can't play any mp3 on it and every photo was corrupted. So i read couple of weeks in the forum how to flash it and i check few roms for their problems and i choose one and flash it. Everything seems to be fine from the first boot . i used couple of wm6.5 roms and make every step that the developer says to do... but the problem persist soo can anybody help me

i read about a lot of roms and decide wich i will use so i went back to mtty i do all the steps and everything went well i flashed the diviece with the choosen rom and the problems persist i still can't instal any program i still get the message from the windows madia player that the file is corrupted i can't open it

I hope someone can help me.....
today I install some app to give extra animation and crap but after I ve done it the phone keeps restarting after I slide the srceen to unlock it.
I have done a hard reset formated the phone and cache and still the same,
I have also tried to flash it but RDS came back with " unable to retrieve info from INI file.
sim card is in but there is still "no service" on,
I ve looked through the forum but non of the posts seems to desrcibe my problem.

the 'unable to retrieve ini file' could be because of your usb ports.
however,
if you go to recovery mode( hold vol- during startup then vol+ and vol- simultaneously when you see a little green man) you should be able to get a menu which will let you do a factory reset( clear data) which should make the phone work.

were you trying to install a flashlight fix zip btw before all this happened?
if so, the only option is a full flash.
try it with a different computer but i think at this moment rsdlite is the only hope.
i know because it has happened to me quite a lot.

just check the android development section for the defy,
there are plenty of choices for a uk rom.
download one and flash it with rsdlite from a computer with usb 2.0 .
thats the cause of the ini error apparently.

After a 6 hour fight I finally managed to flash my phone and it works, old RSD for some reason wouldnt support the phone so I got the new one and I could sleep much better
The only issue is that I liked 2.51, not necessarily the whole blur thing but I still think software looks much better and for example, mail box wont open, not the google one but the other that Ive added. Market place looks quite old compare to how it looked on 2.51, for eg the buttons for apps,games and apps look like big grey brick where in the other one there where nicely "implemented" into the market website.
however, I could not load 2.51 on my phone because it would stay on black screen with white LED on. I ve tried couple of times and always the same.
maybe I m doing something wrong?? what are those 2.51 boot only for?? I ve tried to put that in first then the firmware and still the same.

sadly, downgrade to 2.51 isnt possible because you upgraded to the froyo roms, the bootloader is newer so it is impossible to go back.
still, the froyo roms are generally better but somehow they seem laggy sometimes.
hopefully since motorola is pushing beta builds and the actual froyo release will come out around april- may you wont have to stay with the blocky icons for long.
