I got a sprint touch. I already got it unlocked so i can use any rom but i cant find any generic ROM, any suggestions? Are there any cooked generic ROMs out there? I'm planning to use it for a small cdma carrier. One more thing under the modem settings i think, theres an option "automatic, home only, sprint only." How can i take out the sprint only? I tried going in the registry but no luck i couldn't edit it. I need your help guys thanks.

I have recently updated to the Alltel GPS Rev A Rom. I have not been able to get the GPS working on my phone (Bell Canada Network). I am going to keep trying but I am wondering if I were to go back to my ROM that I downloaded specifically for Bell, how would I do that? I have been told it is difficult to Flash back to a previous ROM. I am also a little nervous, when I connect to the internet on my phone instead of connecting through the BEll network. It says it is connecting to the Alltel network. Will this affect my billing? Maybve I should flash back my original ROM and wait for a Bell official release. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
It is only a name on the connection. You are still connected to bell.
It takes a few minutes to get a lock....it is not uncommon to wait 2-5 minutes.
For myself, I use the 3.35 radio and I get my connection within 2 minutes most of the time with google map and igo

If you're getting paranoid seeing the AllTel Logo, just flash it to JD's 6.1 ROM and that will solve your problem. When it comes to the GPS, just make sure you followed all the instructions right for the GPS settings and for sure that will fix it. Just add a little patience with it.
With my Bell Touch everything is running smooth and awesome! its really worth doing the ROM upgrade!

Thanx for the advice, I actually ended up finding a ROM made for Bell at PPCgeeks (I don't remember the link). works like a dream. And again you were right, it was just a matter of being patient. I let it sit for a few minutes and it started to pick up my location. Thanx for you help guys!!
Questions from a Newbie!
This is the first thread I have found that pertains to The Bell Network here in Canada. I have the HTC Touch and from what I have been reading that it IS possible to get the GPS feature activated in the Touch. My concern is I dont want to pooch my phone as I dont have a regular home phone...the touch is all I have. I want to unlock this feature but I need someone to walk me through the steps. It would be nice to also have someone post likes to the files that I will need to unlock the GPS on my Bell HTC Touch.
I hope that someone will respond and take the time to explain this to me...thanks in advance

I think I may have pooched my Bell HTC Touch. I updated the ROM....however it was a Sprint ROM v 3.03.651.2 and the Radio is 3.42.30. It works perfectly as a cell phone but I can not connect to the internet to surf. When I try using INternet Explorer it says ...connecting to Sprint PCS....and it does not work, I tried loading the correct ROM for Bell ( v. 1.19.666.1) ....but it will not let me do it.
Can anyone tell me how to fix my phone?!! ARGH!!!!

ok so this is what happened, i was able to unlock the USC snap. Turns out it is also CEDA. So i used the same one as the verizion so when you bootload you will see in tri color screen is

at first i thought its not going to work but it did. I tried looking for the ship rom of USC for this version but still no luck, i can't find it anywhere. Because of my curiosity i tried the cooked ROM for the ozone and i am aware its for Verizon sadly now its asking for a valid sim card. I said what!!! I crazy tho because i can see the signal bars showing me reception. Now i am stuck at this state until i get the correct one. Can anyone help me flash how to convert the dump.bin to flashable nbh file for CEDA200. thanks guys

I have an NTELOS or supposedly NTELOS rom back on it now but cant get data to work. Can u do ##data# on your phone and look to see what your user name is? i think its phone#@ntelospcs.net but im not sure. Any settings you can gather for me would be appreciated! or even if u know how to make a rom image from your phone so I can flash back onto mine.

Can someone point me in a direction on how to flash phones to ntelos i know u need cdma workshop and the other one qpst or whatever and u need the prl and meid i think it is but im still not sure what all to do! i am on limited income and need to go to pre paid right now i have a sprint evo 4g id like to start with that one! also is it pretty much the same for every phone? so if i figure out the evo 4g will the other phone i buy for my girl be the same? are lte phones different to flash? Hey guys. I've been doing a bit of searching and have only been confused! I have an Evo4G from Sprint and I want to flash it over to be used on either Alltel or Cricket.
I say Alltel or Cricket, because from what i've been reading, there are alot of problems switching these phones to alltel..So i'm looking for suggestions from you guys as far as which to flash. Either will be fine, I just want whichever will work best.
Also, I have found a lot of information about PRL's..But i'm still confused as how to flash to one of these services. The phone is already rooted and running ICS (4.0.3)
So please guys, any information will be greatly appreciated! I'm doing this for a friend and was suppose to have it done by tomorrow, but i've been having so much trouble. I've never done anything like this on a CDMA network. I can normally unlock a phone and pop a sim card into it. I know from reading that I will have to flash some alltel files to it..I'm just having issues finding the correct files and a working guide.
Oh and in case location matters, (if i'm not mistaken other carriers own alltel in certain areas,) i'm in Western North Carolina

You will use qspt to flash the prl to your phone. You will need to be on a Sense 1.0 rom, or a Sense rom that has ##codes working.
As for MMS, I have never been able to get it to work, with new apns, gosms or any other way that's on the net. However I did find a solution that costs $5, and it works. Lemme see if I can find it again.

you can use pretty much any modern Sense rom. Sense 3.0 and below seem to be best with getting MMS to work. Haven't made it work with Sense 3.5+ or any AOSP roms yet.
Ive done a lot of reading in regards to this. almost every place I read says other roms should flash on device not of those carriers. reason im investigating this is because CM for sprint has all the sms issues. and after reading through all the tmo roms im not seeing anyone mention sms issues. every time I try to flash another carriers rom it reads that they are carrier specific and fail. is there a way I can make another carriers rom flash to sprint. my device is unlocked, though im using a sprint sim for lte and from what im reading also, its just a matter of an apn setting for sprint, and/or a radio flash for sprint. anyways, comments?

I wouldn't flash another carriers roms. it can make your phone brick and just a paper weight. other carriers have different settings and files that our phone doesn't..i don't know how to explain it better but I don't recommend it

That is kind of unfortunate if that's the case that SMS doesn't work right out of the gate on Sprint CM ROM's then. While I have gotten used to it, it does get annoying after a while having to reconfigure using the *#*#4636#*#* method every time.
I have tried to flash a few other carrier based ROMs via TWRP but they typically fail anyways (which is probably a good thing). I don't think I've ever actually successfully flashed another carrier based ROM through TWRP.

You can't just flash a tmobile rom on this device. It sounds like to me you need to get your phone unlocked to use tmobile sim. I would suggest http://www.idoneapps.com to sim unlock your phone.
I have no idea what you mean by password screen. What firmware are you on? How did you root your phone? Did you turn off reactivation lock?
I can try to help you but i need to know more detail of your problem. And do understand I'm limited on time i spend here. I'll check back when i can.
