I am interested in buying the cavalier, updating from my dash.
Looking into the forum I've discovered the problem: NO avaliability of any alternate ROM (wm6.1).
The problem is first of all related to the absence of HARD SPL or SUPERCID for cavalier. I've asked to pof, he could help us developing a supercid-jump spl tool for cavalier.
CAVALIER SPL is needed and following pof instruction this could be obtained using isutils, dowloading from here http://nah6.com/~itsme/itsutilsbin-20070705.zip
Unzip in a folder, connect via activesync
Application unlock the phone , instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1069629&postcount=1
then open a dos command prompt windows in ISUTILS dir and type at the command prompt:
pmemdump.exe 0x8c000000 262144 SPLdumped.nb.
Done! Send the spldumped.nb file to me (PM to have the address) I will forward and he in his spare time could try to develop the supercid-jump spl tool for cavalier!
And the rom cooking will start!

CID unlock will work on most of the phones. I say most of the phones because some devices do have issues (like the softbank version of Hermes), so you don't need to send your SPL too.

Hi guys, those dumps are not good. But it doesn't matter, I have extracted a SPL from a RUU (RUU_Cavalier_DOPODASIA_WWE_1.16.707.7_1.43.50.00_108_Ship) and will produce a sspl and hardspl for you.

I just developed a JumpSPL for Cavalier. Before I release it for testing here, some of you should post the two output files spl-dump.bin and map.txt by running the attached file dump.bat on your PC.

Cavalier SSPL & HardSPL
Please find attached a SSPL (also known as JumpSPL) for Cavalier. Running it will allow you to flash a HardSPL. The HardSPL is a SPL (bootloader) which can not be overwritten and which will alow you to flash roms (both official and cooked roms) and rom parts (radio, OS, splash, etc). If you want to replace the HardSPL you must run the SSPL again and then flash another SPL.
Make sure your device is application unlocked. If not, run the attached SDA unlocker on your PC and reboot your device when prompted.
Connect your device with a usb cable and make sure activesync is green and ready with syncing. Unzip the files in a single directory on your PC and run "sspl.bat". Confirm each step by pressing enter and also check the display of your device.
If all goes well the display changes to the tricolor bootloader screen or it may turn grey, black or white. Disconnect and reconnect usb cable and wait 20 seconds. The activesync will disconnect. Unzip "HardSPL-Cavalier-1.0-JockyW.zip" and flash the HardSPL by running "ROMUpdateUtility.exe".
Rom cooking for Cavalier can now start.

First, thank you for your and Pof's hard work.
Now, I tried the jumpspl and it worked but not without making me some problems. First Mtty 1.42 did not recognise my usb port so I switched to an old version that I had since himalaya. Reconected my device (still in bootloader mode) to usb tried old mtty and I got conected. Now after I wrote ResetDevice, my cavalier did switch of (that's what is supposed to do yes?).
If anybody has problems with mtty 1.42, use the old one I attached

Here are the steps to do after running sspl.bat:
1. uncheck "allow usb connections" in activesync
2. disconnect and reconnect usb cable and wait 20 seconds
3. run MTTY (it really doesn't matter which version)
4. if you type ResetDevice it could be that the phone shuts down
Okay, the sspl works. Tomorrow I will post the HardSPL and a harmless splash to test the sspl (aka JumpSPL).

Recently tried upgrading my SPV M3100 from WM5 to black WM6. Everything was going fine and I had installed the following
SPL (Bootloader) version 2.10.Olipro (HardSPL v7)
Radio version 1.43.00.00 (optional)
Was updating to ROM version: Windows Mobile 6 LVSW 160607 when USB cable was disconnected before installation ands I am now left with WM6 screen only

If you stuck in the wm6 boot screen and have flashed HardSPL 2.10 already you can just enter the bootloader and reflash your ROM again. Why do you use nearly 6 months old ROM (LVSW)?
Did you try to reflash the ROM?
Just switch to the bootloader and run the update again.
If the updater is complaining about "Not able to do so" you might need another ROM, but that method worked to or three times for me.

you do not need active sync to pick it up. Just enter the bootloader and run RUU.

Simply - flashing process itself is not done by the Active sync (its icon is grey when flashing). I have tried to flash a ROM this way and it works. You just have to input correct values to the RUU yourself. Bootloader is the tri color screen. You can access it by holding power and ok button while using the stylus to soft reset the device. Hermes will pick up the usb connection.
Please read the WIKI and flash an original WM6/WM5 rom before attempting to flash a cooked rom.. then make sure you know what you are doing before flashing the cooked.

Put your device into bootloader mode.
Connect it via USB to your PC.
Run the RUU on your PC (like if you had Active sync working).
Flash the ROM.
(should work with all cooked ROMs)
Update: I tried it now with the Schaps 4.20 - it is working.
When you run ruu it should create ROMUpgradeUt.exe if it says it fails to find the device just run this. I usually take a copy before clicking to close the error box.

RUUWrapper.exe should be in the folder with the image you are flashing. Sorry if I confused you saying ruu.
When you download the cooked rom it comes in rar or zip containing 2 files - one with extension .NBH and the second one is RUUWrapper.exe (resource upgrade unit), unpack them to one folder and run RUU.exe Be sure to flash only ROM for your device otherwise you will kill it for good.

If this does not work for you - then you can use flashing from the SD card (no USB needed for this kind of flashing) . But try what markafreeman suggests first.
Lets try some troubleshooting:
Whne you connect your device in the bootloader (red green blue screen) to your pc what does it say?
In the white part of the screen on your device it should say USB - then it will work.
If not you can still try flashing the ROM from the SD card - you will need a card reader though for this kind of flashing.

I had some trouble with my diamond, the touch screen is no longer working so I have to send it back to htc, now I have to restore original rom and spl.....
I installed olinex 1.40 and the last original italian rom 2.03....
Now I downloaded my former rom (1.93.772) from italian server, I installed it and everything seemed to be right, (I can't check it because the diamond blocks me at the aligning screen, the touch screen is broken and I can't start the phone...the aligning screen appears to me forever and there's no way to bypass it)...
Then I downloaded the original spl 1.93 from your server...I cant use active sync because I can't start the phone so I have to work in boot mode.....I followed carefully the procedure, that is quite easy, but there is no way to remove the olinex 1.40, the process starts, it reachs 100%, but when i check the spl is always the 1.40 olinex....and restore original spl...I try also the usb trigger mode, with the spl putted as dimndimg.nbh...
Please help me!!!!!!!!! I' going crazy!!!!!

I read everithing and now I'm a sort of diamond technician, but I cannot solve this problem, I can only flash in bootloader mode cause the telephone cant initialize windows, it' blocks in the aligniment screen and can't go on, so maybe the bootloader mode isn't strong enough to by pass the write protection of the 1.40 olinex and overwrite the hardspl...HELP HELP HELP
I'got the same issue, you have to install a rom !! and use ActiveSync in order to get the SPL1.93 ! I think in bootloader mode, you can't change the SPL!

Freaky, I have the same issue it will not remove no matter what.
HTC have sent mine back, they say the HardSPL 1.40 OliNex damages the mainboard and causes touch screen failure! They want £230 for a new one
If you find out how to remove let me know, I've flashed all sorts and no luck it still says it.

In order to switch from 1.40 to 1.93 HARD SPL, you must you the jump spl program. It's in my signature. Also read the txt included for the instructions.

First plug phone into computer via active sync....
Then:
Copy the following files to the Diamond root directory
"Copy JumpSPL.exe & "copy SSPL"& sspl-1.01-reloc-mod.nb
Then: "execute Diamond SPL now - screen may trun black"
Then: "run DiamondCustomRUU.exe to flash any HardSPL

Copy means either to right click and select copy to then past it to the root of the diamond directory or you can choose to drag this file to the diamond directory. Then continue to copy the other files.
Another way is to just start with the Diamond-SSPL.exe file and it will tell u to copy these files one by one. Make sure that you are activesynced prior to started this.
What I mean is WHAT IS sspl.exe
It's not in your magic zip file.
And when I find it, how can (I / We) execute it with failed touchscreens?

You must flash in bootloader mode and run ROMUpdateUtility.exe in "C:\ROM" with file "RUU_Signed.nbh" 1.93 version in his directory (C:\ROM).
Use Windows XP and cable miniUSB original and Activesync of course.
1)Use Activesync conected.
2)Copy ROMUpdateUtility.exe and RUU_Signed.nbh (HardSPL 1.93)
3)Enter in bootloader mode
4)From "C:\ROM" run ROMUpdateUtility.exe

Why remove the 1.40 is so hard?????.....why flashing in bootloader mode doesn't bypass the overwriting protection?? why olipro is not answering my private message?
As newbie on this, anyone please guide me step by step to upgrade my P3300 rom with nbh file. My device is unlock already with current ROM 5.2.1908 (build 18125.0.4.2).
The procedure is given in almost every thread. It's simple really. Is your SPL version anything other than 1.11.0000 or 1.11.cmon? If yes then your phone is not unlocked. Unlock your phone by running USPL from here or the updated USPL from here.
Check if the USPL has worked by checking your SPL number. During phone booting at the white HTC screen your SPL should show either 1.11.0000 ir 1.11.cmon.
If it does you are free to flash any ROM. Get the ROM of your choice, put your phone into bootloader mode by pressing the voice record, power key and reset button simultaenously for about 5 seconds till you see a three colored screen. Attach it with USB and flash the rom using RUU.

do u have only .nbh file or along with .nbh file any other files are there ?
generally along with the .nbh file there are other files like romupdateutuility.exe etc.,
download those files also and save those files into your PC.
after unlocking your device then staup the device with bootloader mode (three color screen)
connect the Device with the PC by USB cable.
in the device display u will a word USB (left bottom corner)
run the Romupdateutility from the PC...
the process will guide u next steps ...
after the completion u will have new OS
Last I would recommend tht u also upgrade you Radio ROM (this is responsible for all the communication functions of ur phone i.e. calls, GPS, WiFi etc) which will enhance the communication capabilities.

Note : before flashing any ROM or upgrading the RADIO kindly CID unlock your device or you will end up the with bricked device .

As sixthsigma said, did you check if the phone is correctly unlocked? Is the SPL showing 1.11.0000 or 1.11.cmon?
Secondly, what OS are you flashing on? XP, Vista or Windows 7?

Secondly, you haven't unlocked your phone properly yet. The SPL must be 1.11.0000 or1.11.cmon, depending on which USPL you use.
strange... hv tried several time but w/o luck...
now I notice that it cut out after '70' and jump into 100 with disconnecting
any choices of other USPL instead of the one attached here?
Did you flash the old USPL or the new one which is nosize? It is preferable to install the old one first. And then go for the cmon nosize USPL if need be.

Hi, heres the procedure for upgrading your rom put as noob friendly as i can put it.
WHAT YOU NEED
1. HTC Artemis p3300
2. computer running Windows XP with activesync installed
3. Usb cable to connect to computer
4. The new rom that you want to flash
5. And USPL which can be downloaded at this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311403
NB: For most of the newer roms you will probably need the updated nosize version of uspl http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=521406
PREPARATION
NB: Anything you need to backup or keep from your device do it now.
NB: in some cases you may have to hard reset your device before it will take the flash
1. Extract Uspl to your desktop
2. Extract the rom you downloaded to your desktop
3. Remove your sim chip and memory card from your device
4. Reset your device and sync with windows xp
UPDATING
1. In the USPL folder run the program called "start_uspl" and let it do its thing in the dos window,in
my case it goes to 70 and then jumps to 100,if you have been watching your device screen you will
see the linux penguin for a few seconds and it will change to a white screen.
A window will popup on your computer, do as it requests, when finished it will reset your device.
Sync your device with your computer again.
2. In your downloaded rom folder you should find a file called "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" or "Ruu.exe", run
it and a window will popup, do as it requests.
Your device screen will go tri-color(red,green,blue) and the rom update will begin, wait till it
finishes and thats it.

I ran the herald-uspl.exe file. and ended up with teh above error. My TMo Wing has the original ROM on it and the phone itself is probably unlocked. Ive had it for a year now. Do I need to call TMo to unlock or is there some app I can run to do this myself?

I connect it through active sync(on my desktop pc), and i run 'Force Using Safe SSPL', i get the error : ERROR 246. The Update Utility cannot get response from your PDA Phone. Please check that your USB cradle/cable is connected properly between the PC and your PDA Phone. And also check your PDA Phone.
Click 'Exit' to quit.
I tried to run SPL-2.02/2.10/2.30 and then it goes into bootloader, and at 1% it says 'file corrupted'.
I tried those things on my laptop, too, but still the same problems.

Install NetFrameworks from v1 to v3.5 make first your device is runing a functional rom.... or your rom... then perform the Hardspl v7 by olipro hardspl 2.10 and then try to upgrade some other... the fact here is.... how could you have 6.1 and now you are trying to make hardspl... oh bTW dont use SSPL please you gonna damage your device if it is not ready damaged.

Try this,
1. Make sure you have HSPL 2.10 or New Bootloader
2. Put Your device into bootloader mode (Until there a "SERIAL" in the bottom of ur device), connect it to PC (Now "SERIAL" change to "USB")
3. Run 838Pro_SEA_ENG_WM6_Upgrade_20070712 (official ROM or U can RUN other official ROM can be found on www.htc.com ), don't click "AUTODETECT",
4. Checklist the option button of SPL-2.02/2.10/2.30 New Bootloader and Is it Hard-SPL?, after that just click next2 until flashing started
5. If it didnt work repeat step 1-3 and checklist the option button " Force Using Safe SSPL " then follow all flashing step

7. Flash WM6.5 ROM you want

I have sort of the same problem, except I have a US DIAM110. If you have found the original stock ROM for your device, try that. It has to work; JumpSPL only works from Windows.

have you tried using a custom RUU to install your stock rom?
extract the stock rom from official RUU and use the custom RUUs that can be found here.
one more thing, you might want to grab the old drivers for mobile device sync and make sure the old drivers are loaded. vista and w7 usually rollback the drivers.

hey i had the same problem i tried evrything and it didnt work just like you so i went to htc service center and the flashed my rom back to the box rom check out if there is an htc service centre near you.

You can also try pmming Olipro or cmonex, or try looking around on how to do a CID unlock (imei-check or something like that does it, but it's been reverse engineered by now).
Finally, if you're about ready to give up, you can run "task 2A" which FORMATS EVERYTHING. You could be left with a brick. But there's a chance your SPL will be saved and whatever's causing the problem to be removed. Again, I don't recommend it; it's a very powerful command.

after "task 2A" the first thing to do will be flashin hardspl and then a ROM ???
ok, it is possible to flash roms and radios... but it is impossible to flash any spl!
so whats wrong?
/edit: is it possible to flash SPL on another way? in some "do whatever it says"-way?

Hard-SPL is protected, which is why it is called "Hard". It is written in "hard" on the memory to prevent it from accidentally being erased. Therefore the memory where Hard-SPL itself resides is protected so a bad flash won't brick your device.
In order to modify the bootloader (in your case it's Hard-SPL at the moment), you have to use Soft-SPL, which "softly" remains in the memory, but is not actually "written" in the memory. To do that, you get something called Jump-SPL. Find it, and execute the .bat program when your device is connected via ActiveSync. Accept the prompt on your device, and the screen will turn black. Now flash the new SPL (bootloader) that you want to install. If you mess up here you can brick your device, but installation is fast.

Also, when you use mtty, you cannot copy and paste. The program only works when you TYPE it in. So do be careful with Task 2A and do not resort to these tactics unless your device has been fully bricked.
