Apps no longer signed? - Touch CDMA Windows Mobile ROM Development

Since upgrading to the FW with GPS and EVDOrA ive had issues with the basic sprint apps that come with the phone like Sprint Music, TV, on Demand, and The messengers..
Here is the error i get
The File "Whatever" cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring the file.
How do I get the apps working again?
I couldnt find anything available for DL on sprints website or anything.. Im not sure the the files are damaged or unsigned.. I dont wanna go the thr procedure of resigning them cause its a PITA..

Lost access to copy protected apps after root + A2SD

Hi guys I rooted my desire using the live cd method, powered up my phone before installing a2sd and I could see all of my download history on the market with access to all apps. After this I booted into recovery using step2 on the live cd and installed A2SD. When I turned the phone on again all of the download history was gone and I can't see apps like Google Earth, National Rail etc.
I thought I did something wrong so I wiped the device and installed the rooted rom update again with a2sd at the same time. The problem still exists and nothing has changed.
Could you please help me because this is very annoying and I cant set up my phone the I want until this is resolved.
Very strange... Use Market enabler > http://market-enabler.googlecode.com/files/MarketEnabler_latest.html
install, apply new settings and reboot, problem solved
Thanks for the suggestion but the market enabler doesn't solve it, I tried it.
Another strange thing that I found is I have an .apk of CoPilot which I was using before rooting and when I tried installing it now it gives me an error "Application not installed".
I still haven't solved this problem and its really bugging me.
I un-rooted my phone and used a different google account with no luck. I still don't see some applications in the market.
Just to let you know I am in the UK using a generic sim free desire on 3 network. Could you please, please, please help me out. I am running out of options and I thought unrooting would fix it.
Weird issue you are describing. As far as I know it depends on the fingerprint of the build.prop in the ROM (and if Google added it to the white list(?)) or not.
Many people are using the rooted ROM (all the same build.prop) and they can access protected apps just fine. So probably the problem lies elsewhere.
I have a similar problem, before I rooted my device I could see all apps I bought in my g1 days. After I rooted first of all none showed up, after a day or so only a few showed up... rebooted a few more times (only ever flashed once using Windows with apps2sd) now I have a few I had before show up not all just a few and thats how its been since. weird. I had half results :/

Same problem here with one single application.
Had SlideIT paid version installed on stock firmware.
Once i rooted it gave me the message "application not installed" once i tried to install it.
Funny enough the SlideIT lite version is still able to install fine.
Definitely want it to work again, so i hope someone knows how to fix it
I tried a couple of different ROMs today and had this same problem, clicking My Downloads would just show a blank screen, and there was no "Top Paid Apps" tab. I tried unrooting, rerooting, nothing fixed it, until I found this;
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=1ea082d443f3d16c&hl=en
Pushing that xml file (note the spelling mistake before you do it) fixed it all back up, no idea what caused it to get all messed up and why it wasn't fixed by wiping and reflashing.

I tried to push the file via adb shell in windows and got permission denied. Am I doing it right or do I need to root the phone again to be able to push that file because I have reverted back to the generic stock rom?
Mine was rooted when I pushed it, try re-rooting it and pushing it again I guess.
I finally got around to re-rooting it and tried your solution with pushing that file but no change to my market
Just to be clear I can see the Top Paid apps tab, but I cant access copy protected apps like Google Earth.

[Q] anyone else having trouble downloading apps in G-play?

I'm rooted and just recently did a full, complete wipe and fresh install of Liquid's 1.1. I think the problem, honestly has followed me from another ROM although I'm not sure which one, So I'm equally not sure if the ROM is the problem. Anyways, I keep getting these error messages that says it can't download the app. The first few times it was just an error box, but after the fresh wipe and install it is giving me an error code. (pic down below). can anyone make it out? I also went into apps manager and wiped the cache/data from just the app. Sometimes it will let me download something when I do this, but then after that, BAM! back to no downloads.
It wouldn't be so bad if I could download from the desktop but it won't even let me do that! It shows that I tried to purchase the apps but never installs them.
I wonder if anybody else has been dealing with this and/or found a solution. I'm afraid I might've broken something that isn't being fixed through normal wiping. which means I might have to unroot, then root. 'grumble'. I'm a noob, (if you couldn't tell by the long post), so any suggestions would be most helpful.
Edit: I looked into the troubleshooting portion of the play store and followed the directions if you are having trouble downloading apps and it worked... for about three or four apps then it starts saying error processing purchase. I dunno what to do...

Error 963 downloading from play store

Having bought and attempted to download a game from the play store (they're having a sale) they took my money and then didn't give me the game, I've wiped data on play services and play store several times and even logged out of Google altogether. Still gives me this horrible error.
I'm currently running viper ROM 1.6.0.
Has anyone seen this error?, does anyone know a way to fix it?
Thanks.
Edit: now getting error 940.
Really getting on my nerves this. Can't install anything.
EDIT 2: Have uninstalled Viper for the time being, I don't know if it was the rom's fault or not but i've went with another until i resurfaces, funny thing is, this was apparently a real issue on the M8 too (I didn't own that phone) either way, will leave this here incase a fix arises.

I had the same problem with this error 963 when I wanted to download a certain game but I solved that as I was logging in with my computer to the google store and give a permission from there to install the game, the result a good working limbo on my HTC M9! I hope this will help you too!

Actually went ahead and re-installed the rom, all working now, I've heard of HTC devices having this issue before, namely on the M8, although I didn't have that device, could be a google issue i suppose, just never seen it before.
I'm having this issue rite now, and reinstalling rom has not helped at all. What else can I do?
Just had the same issue myself. Try initiating the download via the play store, I switched to another app and downloaded that.
Seeing as though you reinstalled your ROM, that's interesting, the can only be so much that remains consistent..
The content on your internal and external memories and your accounts.. The problem resides in one or the two, the fact that the user before you was able to deal with the issue via the internet I'd say its more an account issue..one of the problems I had with the 963 error was the download changed size in the play store.. The initial size of limbo was around 120MB and after the first error the size changed to around 27MB, what I thought had happened is a corruption had taken place in my memory and it was failing for that reason.. Personally I'd clear the downloaded data for the app that you're getting and I would initiate the download via the web. Fingers crossed it works. Good luck, let me know how it goes.

i went on my PC and installed some apps through play store on my PC, but some are still failing with some different codes. ive tried wiping play store, google play services and and frame work, but no good.
What ROM are you using? I switched from viper to leedroid but then it happened on Lee droid too. After reinstalling the ROM the issue went away. I'm really not sure what else to suggest. Could there be a flag on your Google account which is stopping it? I dont believe its luck at all, there has to be a reason why this is happening. Try this.
Disconnect your Google account, wipe data for Google framework, Google play services and Google play. Delete the nearly downloaded file. Go to recovery and wipe dalvic and cache. Boot back into the phone and sign into your Google account. Then pull the game from the play store on the web, do it in that sequence and hopefully it'll work. Hopefully someone else will chime in with a suggestion or a fix.
Also list the codes which you're getting, might spark an idea with someone else.
I'm starting to think its something installed or a corruption. Between ROMs I always wipe the internal memory and simply select key folders which I want to keep, ie: downloads, dcim, Zedge, co pilot, maybe I'm inadvertently fixing the issue without knowing it.
i believe i fixed it.
1) download a file manager then navigate to sdcard\android\data and obb and delete the files of the apps that are failing to install
2) clear cache and delvik cache in recovery
3) open play store, go to my apps, then scroll over to all apps
4) locate the apps that are failing to install and click the little "X" on the top right of the entry and delete them from account, even if they are paid for, you will still be able to re-install.
5) log on to the play store via a computer, search for the apps that wont install and install them through the play store on the PC
I think whats going on here and why we are getting errors is because we may have restored a backup and then stopped it from downloading apps or lost connection, etc, and play store thinks the app IS already installed on the phone and wont let you download it. i had about 15 apps that wouldn't install and i fixed all using this method.
Sort of along the same lines as what I said, nice one for reporting back on it I'll try this next time it occurs. Cheers fella.

i tried cleaning the apps data (play store, frame work, and services) and signing out and in etc, but i think that only made the issue worse.

Either way it doesn't matter, glad you've got it working. Appreciate you feeding back.

ive done this multiple times and every time i did it, more and more apps would fail, so i think doing this made it worse.
Besides removing the apps from the apps list in the play store, its no different mate. Haha let it go.

I have/had this issue. When I unmount my external sd card everything downloads fine. If I try with sd card mounted nothing downloads
This was happening to me on a bone stock ATT 32gb... It just started working again for some unknown reason..
Confirmed, unmounting sd card makes updates/downloads/installs work again.
Because google is too ****ing retarded to implement an option that gives you the option to select what storage to use when you download a certain app...
Really how hard is it to add that google?!
Press install -> get popup with either SD card or internal memory for the app -> done..
No instead we have to use ****ty apptoSD crap..
But it's all part of the typical google mindset "our way or **** off"

Google play store and talk help

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me, my partner has an Xperia play running on android 2.3.4
He deleted some apps and now play store is running properly, and nor are a load of other apps. One app he deleted was google talk, which we haven't been able to get back, we have tried reinstalling it through apk files but they won't open on the device it just says error loading file.
The actual error we're getting is:
Error while retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-7:AEC-0I44J]-CLSE-RIATW
I have found a lot of solutions for the first part of the code which hasn't help such as clearing this data and cache and that uninstall reinstall restart, force stop, downloading apk files, rooting the phone and doing this and that. But nothing's working, so it must be mostly a problem with this whatever the second part of the code is CLSE-RIATW which I can't find anything about online. So I'm hoping there's a genius out there who might now what the issue is?
I also keep getting the message google talk authentication failed, please log in, but as I said above he deleted it, and we cannot find it anywhere in the phone.
Thank you
If deleting app data/cache or factory reset doesn't help, the best way is to reflash the firmware.
Sent using XT1562 - Resurrection Remix/Ultra Kernel
Thanks could you possibly tell me how I would do that?
PC Compqanion should have Repair function. It will download needed files.
Or You can use Flashtool and ftf firmware: how-to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2054486
Of course You don't need to flash 4.0.2.A.0.62, which is provided in the tutorial, but for other firmwares You will need to look for ftf files in internet or use XperiFirm to download them.
I think the best one is 4.0.2.A.0.58 Enhanced (v1, v2 or v3 makes no difference, but I prefer v2).

I deleted my Play Store...and more.

So, I'm quite new at all of this, and I understand now why you shouldn't mess with stuff you don't know about.
Now that that's out of the way, I'll explain my issue. I rooted my tab 3 with kingoroot, which worked perfect, but then I decided to go and use Lucky Patcher, which is when things went bad. I attempted to get the Modded Google Play store, which downloaded, however when it was finished installing, it gave me a message I didn't see, and tapped away from accidentally.(I think it was asking me to reset my device). I then left Lucky Patcher, and realized that Google Play was gone, no mod, or original, and so I reset my device thinking that's what the message may have said to do. Of course, I get back and it's still missing. It's totally gone. Not in applications manager, couldnt find it in my file explorer. I factory reset as well and nothing was solved. I now get messages saying that an application needs me to update Google Play Services..."Which your device does not support.....". So finally I tried 2 things: 1, I downloaded a Google Play store APK, which would open, then promptly close right after, and then announcing that it had failed/closed. I also tried to side-load google play services, which also didn't solve my problem.
Im still rooted with superuser
Now, I've looked everywhere on how to reset my actual android version(without a computer), and all I could find was using ADB to downgrade, then upgrade, which I'd like to avoid using ADB, since that just opens up more possibilities for me to destroy my tablet.
Please help me
good news! you do NOT need google bloat-adware to install apps from the play store.
interweb search: apk mirror
compare hash of apk to developer.
joy
use lucky patcher to render apps offered as free with ads actually free by removing ads
