New Russian build 3.30.3.2, can we convert???

Seems there's a new LVSW ROM: 3.30.3.1, CE OS 5.2.1413, build 17745.0.2.3: http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=34470&st=1560#entry801866...
But it's in Russian! I downloaded the file but my Russian isn't that good, hi.
If this isn't a joke: any cook to convert it to WWE?

There's no panic, just excitement...

According to LVSW's site, pretty much the only differences are Russification-related. I don't think a WWE version will be released.

if you guys would have translated the page you would see that's its RTM 17745 and yes he will be releasing a WWE version im sure by next weekend. JJ is also releasing 17745 in his next release so you guys will have your hands on it soon enough don't worry. I am in the process of converting Lvsw's russian version into english but im busy so it will probably be released by him before im finished with it.

I have just downloaded this, dumped the rom and checked it out. I now have it running on my Tytn! I Thought it might have new media player but it still has version 10.3.

Yes Office the same, odd piece of English here and there, nothing new so far. I have noticed that when you tap on the 'G' button to connect, and you usually tap 'ON', it takes you straight to the new comm manager, just wondering if this the way it will be in all future builds.

Been playing with LVSW´s 2007-06-06 Hermes_RUS_3.30.3.3 with the new RTM kernel 17745.0.2.3 and it works well. One of the first things I noticed was the speed of the drop down menus and scrolling in the today screen. It´s very fast, just like the program response This apart not much difference...
Negatives: it still has the ugly 3G icon, the older version of Office mobile and the new HTC Touch "style" comm manager lacks a lot of fuctions.
Positives: newer build from RTM, new version TweakUI v 20070527 (which has a power management menu and more tweakability!!), X Button V1.5, Adobe LE, HTC Audio Manager.
Hope the WWE version will be here soon....

you don't have to translate, the buildnumber is in English (on the pictures). i mentioned it in my first post.

Recommended ROM for us Canucks?

I know there are some ROMs out there optimized for AT&T, etc. What do you guys recommend for us Canadians using Rogers? Anyone else on here on the Rogers network? And what ROM are you using? I also need BBConnect to be functional too. I'm so undecided on which to use... I'm still on WM5 at the moment. Thanks.

I use Black Majik (bbconnect version) with Radio 1.43 on Rogers with no problems.

I live in Austin. I have both ROGERS and T-mobile. I use, on my TyTN, Elf Mobile 6 Edition. I just switch out the SIM cards. When I visited Vancouver in March, it worked great (I am not Canadian but I have a Canadian number since I normally spend 3 to 6 months a year in Vancouver).
Custel also works well.

Yes, I'm using Elf 2.1 as well, in Toronto. So far so good

Try them all.
Use the one that fit your needs best!!!
If you are undecided, then you are not ready and I would suggest that you do not bother.
In any case, make sure your pda is CID and provider unlocked. Good Luck when you are ready to jump in!

i am a noob so don't flame me for asking this but how do you know which radio version you are using

Start->Settings->System Tab->Device Information.

I'm currently using Sleuth's v3.1 Crackberry ROM and am extremely happy with it!

fast, reliable, best combination of ROM and Radio yet.
Started with the official AT&T 2.15 radio 1.40.30 (WM5... yuck)
Tried a couple of versions of Black, got bored with the number of resets and the number of programs that it didnt like. Very slick look, but very experimental.
The elf did a great job for a while
LVSW was my choice till the official AT&T WM6 ROM came out and VP3G put it on a diet and killed off all that useless junk.
It finally works the way I expect it to, the first Windows Mobile (CE) device I have ever owned that does so.
One trick.... I have consistently noticed that, with all my various Windows Mobile devices I have owned, the stability is better with less junk on the today screen. I now run just the date, Live Search and Pocket Informant plug-ins.
Also, dont forget to do the activesync fake server fix and kill off the nasty activesync whenever it starts up unwanted.
Radio Change:
Droped calls with the 1.48 radio and it wouldnt find service for over 5 minutes. I've just flashed to the 1.43 radio and will report

TomTom7 vs Igo 8

Hi,
Anyone tested TomTom7 & IGO8 and is TT7 really that better in graphix in comparison with TT6?
Or is IGO8 still the best with the 3D Buildings?
Any comparisons welcome!

i didn't notice a big difference with TT7's graphics. but to be honestly,
i didn't use it for a long time....
i prefer iGo because
- single maps for each country
- text to speech (it tells you the streetnames)
- better graphics

But do you think that it will work well with artemis and his 200 MHz processor.
I read that the minimum CPU required was 300MHz.

TT7 is more accurate when it comes to the speed cameras. But I don’t see an improvement in graphics.

it's running on my father's artemis and two work colleagues are using it also without any problems.

2 questions
Where can you get Igo 8 from??
Also, how do Igo and TT7 compare with Copilot? The good thing about Copilot is the free speed camera updates. I am using CP6 which works fine but isn't very pretty, and am thinking of upgrading to CP7, Igo or TT7 (cab from this site and buy a map)

Well i've tried igo 8 on my artemis and the result was not very nice because if you answer any call or want to use pda for any other reason igo will stop running and blocks pda. Same thing appened with igo 2006, for my sadness i was hopping to keep igo instead of tomtom but for that reason i've changed again to tomtom.

Oh I thought TomTom7's graphics improved dramatically, saw some screens, but I guess this was for the Navcore, not for pda's ?
Other question : where can you get the speedcam and other poi updates for IGO?
For TomTom i used POIEDIT (free updates)

The menu’s in TT7 are better looking and more extended. But the navigation screen looks the same.
Gps connectivity is also better than TT6..

Am I missing something? I've just had a look at the site and it's £20 including a year's updates. Isn't this the same as getting them from tomtom?

Graphics are not that much improved but it has far more functions than
TT6

TT7 versus IGO 8
TT7:
I think nearly nothing has changed. It's a little bit slower than the previous version.
The maps have a few more details.
IGO8:
If you really want to try this navi, you need a lot of free ram!
I have changed to Vanilla 4.02. And since that I have enough ram to
use IGO. Otherwise IGO is rather slow and unstable.
The advanced features (3d-buildings, a.s.o.) are also only available if you have
enough free ram!
The CPU is no problem - it works very smooth with my Artemis!

I think I'll stick to IGO8, best graphics (and it's not slow on my P3300 as some experience).
I used the latest Artemis Touch Lite (without cube) and now the the Oops Black, both fast enough.

You can even update poi's through wifi directly from your P3300 (pocketpoi).
Just saw it also works with IGO8, so i'm going to re-install

What is the right version of Tomtom 7 for Artemis:
the VGA one or QVGA one?

So what screen you have? VGA or QVGA? If you're running Meschle Artemis rom, I would say QVGA

I'm quite sure you need some extra RAM because here on my artemis iGo8 is as stable as a rock. iGo is known for needing quite a lot of RAM (at least 16mb if I remember correctly)

I'm running MOSSI meets ANJA31-Diamond Style V1.0 WWE ROM that is very fast and stable.. more I've installed today agenda and some other... after an active sync session (exchange) available Ram drops to about 12 MB and then I can free other 2MB with hibernate... but hardly i can get more than 14-15 Mb. I've tried many roms (officials and cocked) with same results. Maybe unloanding HTC Home should help but for now I'm quite happy with this configuration.

running Artemis touch 4.02 lite without cube and installed igo8 yesterday.
what an awesome program, running very smooth. much better then tomtom6 or 7
small example, when ur called while in tomtom, u cant switch to speakermode because the callscreen goes away when u pickup. (u have to push the pickup button longer to switch) when u hang up tomtom sometimes wont come back.
With igo8 this problem is fixed. when u pickup u see the callscreen and igo8 still runs in the background giving u directions when u hang up igo comes back.

rom for asus p835 (galaxy7)

is there anyone using the asus p835???
i'm wondering if there will be any cook rom......

I just got one but so far no ROM updates. GUI interface and Glide is fast and smooth. Multihome theme switcher is very fast, probably due to hardware 3D acceleration. I compare to P565 which has a 800MHz CPU, the multihome is laggy.
Radio ROM needs improvement though. The reception strength (number of bars) is lesser than P535, P565...but overall, it is not getting poor reception.

I own P835 too....
Still waititng for new official rom from Asus.
I contact Asus Taiwan about the new rom.
They say Asus will release it by end of April or May....
My P835 is really fast will some tweaks in the registry......

pls wait for sometime.Will get some good stuff for the same

Did you try the SPB latest version?
Is really lag on this phone....Pls try it.
This SPB need some optimization on the registry.

No I have not tried with SPB MS version 2 or 3. I am happy with the stock interface.
Now, am trying to find some kind of emulator so that it can work with the G-sensors found in HTC devices or Omnias. I manage to find the emu for HTC-to-Omnia but they don't work for the P835.
Hope there will be programmers out there who can make it work.

I hope this is the solution for you.
Go to this registry as below:
HKLM>Software>Asus>AutoRotation>WhiteList ----> SKTOOLs
Just enter the name of the program into the registry without file extension.
Like example: Mapking2007.exe, just take off the .exe
After edit the registry. Soft reset it......
Beware......Not all the software are support G-Seonsor

I'm in China now and about to make my first PDA purchase, this one is on my short list with the Diamond2. It's cheaper than the Diamond2 and just as well specced, or better, but not sure I can get English Windows on it here.
You think if I go out and bought a Chinese one it would be hard to get it operating with English? It's it just a matter of downloading a new ROM?

From the day i own this phone........
I never try the WMP, i just install the TCPMP on Omnia version.
Work very very good.................No lag or can't play WVGA movie

how many hardware buttons can this phone map?

official new rom of p835 is released in TW and HK

P835 had release their latest firmware update.

Looks like Asus only update on the Ext.Rom, nothing change on the base rom, the Rom version is still v4.11 and the Ext. Rom had been update to v2.3.3 (release v2.2.1 --> v2.3.0 --> v2.3.3 most update), so it just occupier more and more Rom space, hope that Asus could release one real update on the base rom, might be for the WM6.5.

Hi, is anyone using Asus P835 WWE version and upgrade to Ext.Rom V2.3.3, could you copy the file "tmp_rom.abi" when you upgrade the Ext.Rom, this file will show up only on the installation directory after checking language version, as I'm currently using CHT version and would like to change to WWE to save some ROM space, see if anyone could help to send me this file , thank in advance.

I tested coreplayer 1.3 , performance is very poor
After installed new rom
I can play wvga movie in wmp now

new homescreen (titanium)
new programs menu (honeycomb)
finger-friendly menus
new lock screen
it is only a .5 upgrade so ( just like from wm6 to wm6.1 ) there isn't too much to shout about, but as with the 6-6.1 jump i've found 6.5 to be faster and more stable than previous releases, and the finger-friendliness is much better. Plus i much prefer the newer version of IE

nice, concerning the Amigo : smaller maps, but are they still nice looking in 3D, what did they cut out of the maps of IGO8 then?

Very good rom but something is missing in : BT_SAP protocol.
I've found a cab for install it but it'is an older version and dont work properly.
Do you think it's possible to make a new version of this cab with the lastes version of htc sap protocol ?

Achilles ROM V3 is best but it takes too much RAM. I request achilles to pl cook WM 6.5 with touch flo 2d keeping in mind maximum available of balance RAM.

DWatara's 6.5 with M2D is best (you can disable the M2D it if you have memory short but I like it, no memory problems (and working with IGO 8 also) )
