Where are the plugins located - HTC Excalibur

Im using Kavana Ricky's remade.
Have just made an error on CHome customise of Programs.
I changed the Plugin icons: Location istead of the Picture location now i don't have the programs bar on home screen.
Can someone please provide location.
Thanks in Advance.

Try this.
Start menu -- My Tools -- Configurator -- and click on the plugin you want to show. It's probably just hidden. You can also move up or down which ever one you want.

That just changes the picture of the app your displaying had done them all then messed up.

I believe you will have to find the image you want or originally had for your programs panel and put it in your windows folder. Then find the path somehow and type it in. Like I said I don't know, but tried. I would wait for a mod to help or someone with more experience.
Good luck and keep me posted.

Alrighty... First of all, which ROM are you using?
Well, no matter which ROM you use--you can access your homescreen options this way: Start -> Settings -> Home Screen -> scroll down to Background Image. When you get here, just choose which image you'd like to be the background/wallpaper. (before making these steps, you can search Google or Yahoo! images for whatever wallpaper you'd like) Once you've saved an image (preferrably .jpeg), use ActiveSync to place the file on your device. Click Explore button -> Windows Mobile Device -> Application Data -> Home (this is where you store downloaded homescreen images).
i am using kavana rickwyatt v20 thank you for such quick replys but i dont mean the background pictures but like new homescreens as in new paneling and everything. i should have said that in my first post sorry.
The Home screen is controlled with XML files which lets you specify the position of certain panels, etc. Here is a tutorial on modifying the file:
http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=reviews&id=916
If you have any specifics questions about that let me know.
thank's a lot and I am going to read through that tutorial when I get some free time for sure.
I have another question but I don't want to open a new thread so I will ask it here. Are there any program's that have city map's? I need some map's of my city on my phone (I am a delivery driver).?

If I'm not mistaken, Windows Live has mapping and directions within it. It should already be a part of your Windows Mobile 6.1. Just look in the programs under the 'Start' menu.
I you dont want all the baggage of Windows Live, which permanently gloms all over your phone. just install "Windows Live Search". I think it is a better, leaner choice unless you already use Live Spaces and/or Hotmail.
I was wondering if you guy's knew of DLable maps because I don't want to rack up my data charges on the road?
I have the Kavana 6.1 rom... A link to open up Windows Live is built into the panels... Isn't there another option for that panel? I'm new to this, so bear with me please...

Look at a sticky named CHome configurator
That is a program that you can use to customize the panel.
Thanks, I'm working with that as well... I just remember when I was setting up my phone that there were two ways to set up the Windows Live panel. I don't see the option in the Configurator however.
Oh, and I'm still trying to figure out what app you all use/recommend for editing .cpr files. Any help is appreciated..

Change internal images (call-background, menu-background)

Made a New Background For Call In Progress Screen
Check this out. I made this adaptation of an old homescreen background. Just drop this file in your Windows directory, if you like it.
Looks very lcd screen friendly, will try out later today. Do you have the original wallpaper too? Did someone else on here draw it, or did it come from one of the original ROMs?
The pic I posted when clicked on is the actual size of the picture. I have been making homescreen xml's for a while and this was one of the old backgrounds for a homescreen with Fizz weather and Facade. I just altered the image so that it would fit nicely on the Call In Progress Screen. So, no one here drew the picture, and no it did not come from a ROM. It's just simply a pic for 320x213 screen that is altered for the CIPS picture.

You should warn people that the file you posted is really a RAR archive and not a ZIP archive. When trying to open it as a zip, XP complains that it's corrupted...
Thanks, will remember to say that next time. I totally spaced. Appreciate the heads up.

Yeah, I'll see if I can come up with some others. Maybe I'll get with Profezza about some. I'd hate to come off like I'm stepping on some toes, since Profezza's Alphanuma is pretty similar.
Do you have any requests or ideas? Any ideas are always appreciated.
Holla!
well, i found the images already, but i haven't found the referring registry-keys yet. (i know in SP2003, it was possible to change the Windows-Start-Logo by just modifying the registry and not changing any rom-files. is this possible for these two images (the green background, when someone is calling and the plain-white one in the startmenu-background.) I'd rather like just changing registry-keys instead of replacing those files. Can someone tell me, if these 2 images are given in the registry, and where these keys are?
Take a look in

I was actually going to make a .cab which replaces all of your volume, alert, question, low battery, and inbound/outbound/in call splash screens... .Maybe i'll do that now. If enough people want it.

no it wont. But im sure you can create a script to accomplish that.
All the .cab would do is basically overwrite the files .png, .bmp that are located in the windows directory. i mean i have posted the files b-4 on this forum with the original file names that mirror the ones you would be replacing in the windows directory. lemme see if i can find that post.
Here' they are. I take no credit for these. Guys over at moto forums created these. Just drop these in the \windows directory and overwrite the originals (make sure your backup the originals if you want to revert back)

Thanks for these (I know they're not yours BUT you did let us know they were available)!
I was never really able to overwrite files in the \Windows directory on my phone before flashing to Kavana's. I haven't tried yet. The phone was app unlocked before the flash as well. I've also never been able to see \Windows via active sync on my pc. The same is true even after flashing to Kavana's.
Here's hoping this goes well!

the \windows directory on your phone is a hidden folder.
You need to go to your manubar and click on tools-->folder options-->click on "view" tab and select, " show hidden files & folders" lick apply or ok.... you should then be able to see the /windows directory on your phone with exploring your directory via activesync

I hate so much to be negative but I've tried that. It still doesn't show up.
so you mean to tell me that "show hidden files and folders IS selected" and when you connect your phone to your PC or laptop via activesync and then press explore in the activesync application. and then click on "windows mobile device" . and it shows you the list of files and folders, that the \windows folder is not there?

Yup! It's something that's been bugging me for awhile now! Even after a flash of the ROM it's not accessible. My girlfriends laptop as XP on it and it's the same story there too! I can use resco though to move the files and I've already placed the ones you posted on my phone. They look great. I'll try to create some of my own and see how it goes. Say, is ActiveSync running randomly for no reason when your phone is not connected to your pc normal?

Can't access the TouchFlo3D settings!

It's not highlighted for me to get into the options when I go to "Today" then "items". When I press the start menu I get the drop down instead of the touchflo one.
Unless their is another way.
I imagine there's a registry edit you could do, where? I have no idea. I haven't bought mine yet, just didn't want a thread to go unposted

There aren't any settings for TFLO3D2 in there. You can however un grey the option button (it won't do anything cause there aren't any settings for it) by going to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\TouchFLO 3D (not the one in quotes)\ in the registry and setting the key options to 1 instead of 0.

I have CeRegEditor. I find it easy to use, pretty basic, and user friendly. Im sure there are better ones out there. but if you're gonna use it like i do, just for basic edits, this will suffice nicely.

It looks like it's for the PC. Is their one I can do straight from the phone?

Wierd things with windows 6.5

Hey all,
Asking for help AGAIN!!!
I installed the windows mobile 6.5 update yesterday evening.
All in all i think it's fantastic, still falls behind some OS's but its a great update.
I have a couple of questions thought, and i'm hoping that someone can help.
the first one, i hope is just me not seing something.
on the start screen (after hitting the windows key) i think the new display is great, but i can find a way to move them about and personalise it so the prograns i want are where i want them. how do i do this?
the second is a little more complicated i think. I recently bought g-alarm(which i love) but to register it, you need an owner name on the phone's system.
I cant findwhere to change the owner name on WM6.5, i can change the device name easy. but i cant find the owner name anywhere.
any enlightenment would be great.
Thanks guys
TM411
I assume you mean the honeycomb start menu. In order to change them or move them around you need to tap and hold on the icons.
To set owner name is Start/settings/personal/owner information
Press and Hold the icons to move them.
Try this CAB to enable the owner info, just install and reset.
Is there a way to add/remove Icons from the start menu?
Thanks Guys
I did try the hold and move, but the only option i get is to move to top.
is this right?
the owner information button isn't in the personal setings section.
Hmmmm
what have HTCdone?
i downloaded the official upgrade from the site, surely they didnt remove important things from it?
thanks for the cab,
i shall try it later
Saying that.....
I wouldn't mind knowing if i can delete stuff from the start screen.
Not sure i need the "Getting started"
lol

You sort of can. Here's what you need to do.
1. Go into the "\windows\start menu\programs" directory.
2. Create a folder. Cut & Paste all the shortcuts you deem unnecessary into that folder.
3. Go into the properties screen of that folder and toggle on the "Hidden" setting.
4. Soft-reset.
I've yet to find out how I can get rid of "HTC Calendar.lnk" and "HTC People.lnk". They disappear if I disable HTC Sense (ie, TF3D, Manila, etc). But they keep coming back if HTC Sense is enabled. I've tried deleting the shortcuts but they just regenerate after each soft-reset or if I disable and then re-enable HTC Sense.
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!
You guys are awesome
The cab worked a treat.
The start menu i shall play with later.
Thank for the help

Same for me. Sometimes I get an additional choice of 'Move Down' !! What's happening? Mine is the ATT Tilt2 4 days old . . .
I am also curious how some people are able to hold and drag. It was my understanding from reading various WM6.5 reviews that it is not possible.
For the rest of us mere mortals, I recommend JWMD Icon Changer for reordering the start menu. It has worked well for me. One thing to keep in mind though: it will not reorder any icons you've marked as "Favorite" which means when you right click and select Move To Top. If you want to be able to sort them, you'll have to un-favorite them by selecting Move Down.

Have you checked the theme forum? I am sure there are some in those packages.
Yep, I did, and I didn't see any that were red in the themes posted, and, it seems liek no one just posts icon sets in there.
