So long as it's not SDHC, there should be no differences between brands. (also, since it's an extra for the Prophet, and not integral to the Prophet, it is an accessory )

ok thank u

Must be of the non-SDHC variety.

What if we use super glue to fix the card in the slot? Would it be an accessory, a Prophet component, or simply, really, awsomely, unthinkablely sTuPiD?!?!
Now for the serious part:
Anyone knows if there is any problem with the 4GB 150x or 200x SD cards?
Oh, Kingston has livetime warranty on some cards...
But Toshiba are sometimes faster...

Storage card for Atom
I am using a 2GB Sandisk mini SD. Works fine
10x
I've got the 2GB Topram mini sd....seems ok data to took 9 secs to copy a 27mb file 3mb a sec is that good??
i thought they are 'unlimited'...no?
2 GB topram and 2gb stargem RAM both 150x speed work fine
2 GB topram and 2gb stargem RAM both 150x speed work fine. Not at the indicated speeds to ok.
Both ordered on ebay directly from Taiwan, they arrived speedely as indicated on the ebay and in good condition.
I'm oso using 2GB, works ok. BTW how do i know the speed for my 2GB card? wat does the 150x means from you guys?
4gb must be handled. more cappasites may not work.
8gb card can be seen 4, 5 or some least from 8gb.
16gb mini sd card not produced even.
just joined this forum - looking to buy an atom ar an exec. the memory cards that i read about are now in a new format called SDHC. Thus the 4 Gb is only available in miniSDHC. Is o2 compatible with this format and has anyone used a 4GB card in the atom? this will be the deal breaker for me...
normally atom doesn't support SDHC. but you can fix it with a patch. maybe it can fix the storage limitation(8 gigabyte!)
i'm using a 4 gig topram mini-sd without any problems.
got it on ebay a while back and you can get it for like $35 shipped to the U.S. nowadays.
i'm hoping that the Atom can take a 8 gig. so anyone using an 8 gig card? is there such a card (non-sdhc capacity card) since the atom can't take sdhc cards??

My WM6 Atom Exec has the 8GB Sandisk MicroSDHC card. However, it has the same problem as some of the Sandisk cards -- not reading the card intermittently.

MicroSD / MicroSDHC [2/?]

Dear All,
I am trying to unravel the many MicroSD and MicroSDHC questions/answers that are being posted.
To put it into simple terms I have bought a 4GB MicroSDHC card for storage. I can understand that this will not work with the standard MicroSD hardware but is it possible now or could it be possible in the near future to D/L a patch/driver and uploaded/install to make the card work or does this involve a physical hardware change.
Secondly, are there 4GB or even higher MicroSD cards available on the market 2 GB are just not enough.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
jsthomson.

MicroSD, not MicroSDHC, so the answer is no
So which one is it...YES or NO
Regards,
Steve Thomson
There are 4 GB and higher MicroSDHC but not MicroSD. MicroSDHC is a new hardware specs and software patch/firmware will not enable compatibility.

Doesn't come with one because it has 16 gigs internal storage.
Amaze doesnt cone with one either. Tmo rep said that most newer phones might not cone with any from now on.

Thanks for the quick reply!!
It is great, because I don't want to pay for the cost of a new microSDHC card that I will just toss out and replace with the class 10 32 GB card that I have from my previous phone. Great choice by whoever made it!
it already has 16gig internal memory
My thing that I'm worry about is not the memory card but an extra plastic back piece. Didn't the Galaxy S come with 2? it feels like every single time i take it out its getting weaker and will break eventually or even dropping it would crack it.

just trying to understand, what or why did you though it should include a memory SD card?
i've seen a lot of people asking this question, yet not many explains why they think that way...
My opinion, but i think they are used to it being included because so many phones in the past included it. At least a 2gig. The last phone i bought that came with one was the mytouch 4g i bought my wife and my vibrant. I'm sure manufac. might consider including it in models with not as much internal memory to as an ofset.
Best it not include a mem card cuz it wouldve been a 2 gb that you wouldve replaced anyway

agreed
of the only ever phone that came included was my old Moto XT720, all the other newer phones never included
and even in the XT720 it was only an 8GB card that i quickly replaced with a 32GB, but it is fair to say 8 GB was like woah! , i was actually surprised they included a decent SD card unlike HTC
my very old HTC included a lousy 2GB card, needless to say i replaced it with a 16GB
Sensation has an 8gb and the hd2 had a 16gb.
Deebo took your bike too?
When i bought Samsung Vibrant, it came with 16 GB internal and 2 GB memory card.. thats what made me think that i m missing some thing on this phone.. is it not logical ?

What 32gb class 10 do you have and would you recommend it? I'm looking at the Lexar 32gb c10 on Amazon for $48 to replace the 16gb I'm using now (from my retired HD2).
All thoughts/opinions are welcome.

I have 8gb of music on my phone currently, and about 250gb of movies on my external HDD with 400gb of TV series on top of that. Of course I don't watch all of these, they're mostly there just for collection, but there are some series that I do like watching in my spare time and the more options the better, right? I also want some spare memory space just in case I want to record video on my phone too. I was thinking about getting the 64GB SDXC but if the 128GB version works I will definitely be buying that.
now don't quote me on this, though it should work - I don't see why it wouldn't, since the S3 supports SDXC (and the 128GB is SDXC).

From my understanding, the galaxy s 3 only supports the micro sd sdxc up to 64gb.
But you never know it might just work.
Though, than again, there might be a reason why samsung capped it at 64. Maybe above that, it's
easier for data to be lost and or corrupt? (Just speculation and not a fact)

The term sdxc means extended capacity and has nothing to do with the physical size of the card itself.
Sdxc can be in sd size (think cameras), micro sd(our phones) and mini sd (not really used anymore)
I think the xc would start at 32gb and up. So anything 32gb or higher would be sdxc
For your phone you want a microsd.. Weather a sd, sdhc or sdxc.
As long as it's a microsd....
Google images for it so you can see what the card should look like.

Not sure if that was a hidden dart of sarcasim, but I was obviously refering to when the 128gb micro sd card becomes available as I know they aren't yet.
My guess is the phone manufactures do set limits on paper but actually have their devices capable and ready to accept (such as in this case) bigger sd cards.
I've seen this before, for example, the GALAXY SII micro sd memory acceptance was capped at a max of 32gb, but in reality was and is able to accept a 64gb micro sd card!
Well, I hope that when the 128gb micro sd card is finally released (which is just around the corner) it'll work with the GS3.
A guy can dream-----eh (*_*)
Android itself supports up to 2tb, the limitation is the sd card hardware, on cheap phones they only work with max. 16 for example.
Send from my GT-I9300 with Tapatalk
most limits (in the same hardware/tech class) are limits of TESTING not limits of COMPATIBILITY
a long time ago they designed for specific sizes but now a days they design for "class" of tech.
ie Fat16 is limited to fat 16 fat 32 is limited to fat 32 etc.. etc..
SO as long as its SDXC in theory it "should" work unless they for some reason Coded in a limit (not likely)
they say 64gb because that is what they could "test" at the time that they made the unit.
sorry

The complaints youve seen are not of genuine Sandisk products. Ive been using Sandisk cards for over 10 years now and not once have I ever encountered a problem. In the extreme event that the card may fail I feel Sandisk service and warranty are second to none..
GT N7105 with XDA Premium......that is all......
I had a genuine 64gb SanDisk. It failed after 4 months. Their service was good, they replaced it, but I cannot trust it in my phone anymore.
Got a 64gb Samsung instead. It comes with a10 year warranty.

No there are many fake cheaper memory cards out there which tell you storage of 32gb but are actually 8gb or less and they tell brand is kingston or scandisk but its not

Ive have only ever used Sandisk from my first droid phone till now in every configuration and have never had one fail. I always buy them from the local Frys because its convenient.
i also have a sandisk 64 gb class 10 works very well although sometimes it transfer files slowly.
purchase any.. any brand card can die on note2. just try your luck and before purchasing do check your device goes into deep sleep and remove unwanted wakelocks. some unwanted wakelocks have killed (well it may be in just my case) 3 64 gb sandisk card but last one is working so far after i removed the wakeloks.
