why? you wan to reset and sell it as brand new set?

i would be interested in that too, because i have 500 mins outgoing call time a month. Resetting could help estimating talk times better.

it's possible reset call timer life ?

I have read this guide:
f). Run Mtty.exe from your PC
g). Selec "USB" in port box and then click OK
h). Press Enter once or twice to let the screen dispay "USB>" or "CMD>"
i). Type "rtask b" and Enter then it should show result "0"
j). then type "ate1" and Enter then it should show result "0"
k).then type "atv1" and Enter then it should show result "OK"
l). then type "[email protected]=270f,270f" and Enter then it should show result "OK"
But when I write "[email protected]=270f,270f" I have an ERROR :-( whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ?

Try this:
Note your current call time. Example: 100 minutes used
Make a call
While the call is on, open Start > Settings > Clock and shift time back 100 minutes
Used to work in older windows mobile devices, not tested on Diamond though.
Regards,
Carty..

sorry this procedure not OK... when shift time back the time life not back...

unlocking problem?!?!? !HELP!

ok heres the story.
i bought my O2 XDAII from Ebay a while back and i have lived with it till now. but i have always noticed that it seemed to charge me more for sending text messages. i have lived with this for a while but it is really draining my credit now. im using a Virgin mobile sim card and it seems to randomly charge me for SMS messages. sometimes itl be 10p (to other networks) but other times it will be 30p.
i would be truley greatfull if someone can help me.
any other details feel free to ask.
read this
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=UnlockWiz/Himalaya
ah...
yea thats a good way to unlock it but...
its already unlocked it just seems to overcharge me for text messages. is there a way that i can totaly erase everything, reinstall the operating system and then unlock it? a safe way? lol
ive already hard reset it many times but it must be burnt into the rom.. can some1 give me a copy of the rom for an XDA II with the same spec etc. as me? then i could just overwrite it and then hard reset.
i dunno if that wud work.. aslo how are you ment to change READ ONLY MEMORY? oh well..
will someone please help
aha!
ive figured out the problem.. its because it doesnt connect to the virgin mobile tower. at the moment it is going through the T-mobile network. hence the costs!
all i need to do now is re unlock the phone so that it works on all networks!
thanx fr the help
can i just unlock it again even though it is unlocked?
this may sound a bit silly, but i have a M2000 and it does the same, well if i didnt check it... you should get 160 characters for a txt right? yeh, well sometimes after 70 characters it goes into the second message and after 140 it goes into the third, so by the time you've typed your 160 character message, it is actually 3 msg's hence why you pay 3 times the price, sounds wierd but its true...Jus check at the bottom of your message window and it will tell you how many messages or characters you have used...if that does happen this is how to avoid it... Sometimes it auto corrects some words for you...like if you type " im " and when u push space it corrects it to " I'm " and " thats " to " that's " and so forth, if you take out the " ' " and jus leave it as " im " and " thats " and so forth, it sorts it out.... i know its wierd and its a mission, but it works...
Yeh i had the same problem, pissed me off big time!!
I figured out a way though, go to sms, then tools, then options, then onn the accounts list open up sms and DISABLE 'sending sms messages using unicode when necessary'.
It worked for me.
If it still charges more, then dont get stressed, fiddle about more with sms settings until it stops doing so.

A question for xda gurus

Hi,
About two months ago during one of the numerous rom flashings on my SPVM3100 , I came across a strange issue. I called Orange many times and they changed my SIM card twice but finally said they don't understand this and gave it up. My SPVM3100 is over two years old - so they're not gonna replace the device.
Here's the issue:
whenever someone leaves me a voice mail, instead of receiving the normal "voice mail" notification and it's icon in Today screen, I receive a text message! These texts are unreadable (consisting of only 2 signs, like a triangle sign and an @ sign. Or an @ sign with an underline sign _).
Whenever I receive such texts , I know that I have a voice mail ! I dial the voice mail service, listen to the voice message and delete it. But each time my voice mail box becomes empty another annoying text is sent to me - perhaps cofirming that the mail box is now empty (I wish I could read this new sign language )
The phone shows that the texts are coming from the SIM Card !! (so we thought that perhaps the SIM has problems and that's why Orange changed my SIM Card twice).
This is really annoying.
The Orange tech people exhausted their knowledge for the past 2 months but couldn't solve this problem , gave it up altogether , and are now asking me to contact HTC ! (which I'm sure would be useless).
That's why I'm asking this from xda developers and gurus to see if they have any explanation for this bizarre behavior of my device.
Thanks for any insight and sorry to make a thread for this annoying issue.
have you tried flashing with a different rom? i know similar things would happen on motorola phones, and required hex editing of certain files to turn that feature off.

Fallen,
A six-month-old critically annoying problem was solved in 30 seconds
I am sure we all know xda developers and gurus are genius.
As I said in the post, almost all technical guys & gals in Orange did literally exhaust all their knowledge & experience in the past six months to solve this issue but it was obvious that they didn't absolutely have any clue what the cause of the problem was; whereas Olipro had found the cause and the remedy very quickly.
This is really serious because Orange is a huge multi-billion corporation and they claim to have their own top developers/programmers/technicians and yet they shamelessly suck !
Now on to my second question :
On almost all original (HTC and AT&T) ROMs , the HTC Home Plugin shows the network as "Orange". But on some of the cooked ROMs the network is shown as "UMTS Orange". I know the meaning of UMTS and I understand that whether the network is shown as "Orange" or "UMTS Orange" the phone appears to function the same.
I just want to know what happens in some cooked ROMs that the phone recognizes the network of the SIM card as "UMTS Orange" and not the usual "Orange" ? I talked to some Orange technicians, their replies are really rediculous - one of them kept saying: "you must change your mobile settings" ! But she didn't have a clue what she was talking about as she didn't know where those damn "mobile settings" were and how they could be changed! I can swear she had never held an SPVM3100 or a Kaiser in her hand.
I've searched the forum but haven't been able to find a clear answer yet. I am asking this question just to improve my personal knowlege on this issue.
Thank you for your guidance and insight.
hey,
I get the same problem too when installing new Cooked ROMs.
In order to get rid of the 'UMTS' in front of the Operator name you have to edit a registry entry.
Use a registry editor and navigate to: HKLM---> Software---->OEM---->Phone Setting
In there find an entry labelled 'Enable3GLongName' And change it from 1 to 0.
Restart you're device and it should just say 'Orange'
Hope that works

Thanks bro. Yesterday, before reading your reply I reflashed my device and
this nwe Binky11's V3.8 ROM got it right. So for now, I don't need to do the registery; however, I made a note of your advice for future reference.
I should keep reading to see what happens in most cooked WM6.1 ROMs that they get the network name as such and why the original ROMs get it right.
Thank you very much for your reply.

Quick Question

Is there any way to wipe the call duration on the phone i am running the ricky 6.1 firmware.

Dude, why don't you try it yourself if you taking the phone back. it's not like your going to lose anything if it doesn't work and it only take about 10 minutes to flash.
BTW: I just got my phone 3 weeks ago and flashed it with 6.1 a few days ago. My lifetime calls show 31 minutes but I have used over 400 when I check my balance.

Call Duration Timers

I wonder if someone know how to reset Call Duration Timers which are located in Settings->System->Device Information->Call Duration tab.
Any solutions for this?? Any apps to reset??
This is from a different OLD post but it worked, so share and share alike.....
a). Please make sure that you are SuperCID and you understand the importance of hard spl as this maybe a dangerious operation for you.
b). Make sure that you have SPL 1.10 Olipro (this one works for me, higher version seems not work)
c). Downloan Mtty.exe file in the attachment below and save it to your computer.
d). Open connection setting of your activesync or WMDC on your PC and disable "Allow USB connection".
e). Put your divice into Bootloader mode and connect to your PC via USB
f). Run Mtty.exe from your PC
g). Selec "USB" in port box and then click OK
h). Press Enter once or twice to let the screen dispay "USB>" or "CMD>"
i). Type "rtask b" and Enter then it should show result "0"

l). then type "[email protected]=270f,270f" and Enter then it should show result "OK"
Restart you PPC.... you call timer should be 00.00.00

There's a tool on here that is much simpler to use than MTTY. Just searched my files but I can't find it.
Try using google search on XDA for call timer reset tool and see what you can find.

You can, but I aint showing you how!
I am still of the opinion anyone wanting to reset the call timers or change the IMEI is doing it for the purposes of deception. My 2cents but as a member has already asked....is it THAT important to reset the timers for anything legit??
Just something to think about people.
carcomp, Got the instructions on how to do that too, But decency , and a healthy respect for the law prohibits my using it....

Mr Vanx,
Can you clarify please? Is resetting the call timers to zero illegal? If yes then I will withdraw my post above. If not then we have to assume that the OP has a legitimate interest.
I am comfortable that the IMEI thing is seriously dodgy but call timer resetting as a non legitimate activity is news to me.
Let us know so we all know where we legally stand.
Many thanks

Its not illegal to reset the call timers, but personally I see no reason to do it unless somebody is being deceived into buying a supposedly unused device?! I just dont see what other reason there would be to reset the timers thats all.

Yes it will be illegal if you reset your call timer and list the phone in ebay as a brand new phone. But if you dont do that, then its all good!

Thanks for the clarification. I was just beginning to be concerned that I might have given advice that could be construed as assisting an illegal activity!
I can see that zeroing the timers and eg putting a phone on ebay as a new phone when it is not could be an issue. However if I bought an item 2nd hand from someone in good faith and installed the rom of my choice, then I would want to zero the counters from the point at which I owned the device simply so I could have a true record of the calls I was responsible for making when ownership changed hands. For the record I have never had to use this tool.
A lot depends on the honesty of individuals; however almost anything that man has invented can be abused or put to a use that is negative, destructive or illegal. Take the abuse of drugs in our society as an example of what I mean.....
WB
What about if a person buys a phone off of Ebay or a friend and wants to start clean? Whould he be in the right to start with a 0 call timer since all previous calls were not made by him?

Telephone automatic answer with 6.5 don't work

Hi all,
Since I installed wm 6.5 (Rom Officiel), the option to answer phone automatically doesn't work anymore .
i'm sorry of that, because i'm a biker and it's very useful.
A hard reset (as asked by the service support) did not change anything.
they ask me now to return the device which seems to be a hardware problem no ?
Are you involved of that problem? any idea to solve it without sending it?
Thanks and Best regards from France
Humm !
I'm surprised that this fonction doesn't interest more people; because after quick investigation, i'm not alone with that problem using wm 6.5 .
Is that happen only with the french version?
I have the same problem with diamond 2 and wm 6.5. Did you find any solution?

Same problem here. Updated using UK Vodafone upgrade and now Auto Pickup cannot be selected.
Can anyone help as this is a big problem. If you have to touch your phone to answer a call while you are driving and you get caught, you are in big trouble.
Could someone check their registry
HKCU\ControlPanel\AutoPickUp
and tell us exactly what is in there. Mine is empty and I think this might be part of the problem.
Thanks

I just checked and mine is blank too...on a US-model T-mobile TP2 with the stock 6.1 ROM. I've never used the function before though, so I can't really say whether it is/was available to me...I'm not even sure where the option to use that is
You guys might want to check out the app in THIS thread, it supposedly makes it easy to access the auto-answer, so it might (...or might not) serve as a work-around for you
EDIT: I just found the toggle for auto-answer in the phone settings...and even though I have that registry entry blank like the rest of you, I still have the option of chosing auto-answer in the phone settings.
Sorry if you did this but can you go back to the setting and make sure it stayed "ticked". What happens on mine is that I tick the box and it shows a tick but if you come out of setup then go back in the tick has gone.

Hey man, sorry about that, I just missed it when you asked that the first time
I just now double-checked, and yes, the tick mark does persist in the Automatic Pickup box in phone settings, even through a soft-reset.
But...even when the tick mark is there, no value appears in the registry entry you mentioned and...it still doesn't work I tried it with the auto-answer interval set at 0, 1, and 2 seconds, and it never answered my test calls.
So...6.1 doesn't work any better, 6.5 is just more honest with you by not letting the setting appear like it's working
p.s. feel free to PM me if you ever need feedback from me and haven't heard anything in a day or two...probably means it just got lost in the shuffle on my end.
