I just read the whole thread on the wm6.1. You asked someone to dump the ROM for you. Can you do that with this? I might be able to convince someone to let me try it.......

Thank you for your Great Tool!!
Is the release of "softbankWM6.1WWE-Dump version" impossible?

ok the thing is all the folders OEM,SYS & ROM have to be copy to os.nb.dump folder.
os.nb have to be copied into the ROM folder.
u can extract the os.nb from the test softbank rom ... extract the *.exe with winrar etc.
Then use nbhextract.exe to get the os.nb from ruu_signed.nbh
hope this will help

os.nb was extract from test softbank rom and it put into ROM folder.
But, change is not shown in "Could not find a part of path 'XIP'."
The *.bin file in ROM folder is not changed into XIP holder.
Are there other methods which I should perform?

ok what is inside ur os.nb.dump?
does it have
OEM, SYS & ROM?

When using XIPPort.exe, it went well.
But, what can be created is only OS file.
Please teach me the creation method of IPL, SPL, ExtROM, GSM, SubSplash, and MainSplash.

First of all, Thanks a lot for your work Cruzzmz!
I'd also like to have a original IPL, SPL, Radio & Splashes.
Anyone have it in hand(without test only logo) or let us know how to make one?
TIA!

I think u dont need ori SPL, IPL ....
to extract radio (GSM) u have to extract ruu_signed.nbh with nbextract.exe
just take the GSM.nb portion & use nbmerge to merge it back to ruu_signed.nbh
splash u can use any nb img tool

can u repost cavalier kitchen please, it's remove from hosting.
but if u let me think... i need 2 files from cavalier rom - peripheral.dll & wavedev.dll
i'll be grateful if somebody can extract them 4 me

I'm confused. Is there any difference between this ROM and the one that you first posted for the Cavalier?

rom dumping

I tried dumping the Dash rom, but can't get this way to work (in the thread about the carousel someone said this would work) http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?p=1203197
well, I can't get it to work cause I can't get cmd.exe to change from c:\users\username to c:\ I even tried moving the files to c:\users\username but still doesn't work. I'm using vista so I don't know if this has anything to do with it. I used to use cdm.exe no problem in XP. Instead of fiddling with this though, has anyone dumped it before? Cause then I can maybe jsut get the files I want?
type cd .. to go up a dir
By the way the dash rom is available to download. You only need to dump when its a new device which hasn't had a ROM update released.
Go here and go in the Dash Files folder:
http://rapidshare.com/users/7UE30C
Pick the ROM you want it has them all.
Then extract the exe and continue the viewimgfs steps in that thread using the 64mb file you extracted. I think you might need to use prepare_imgfs first actually, since the nbf is different from a raw dump, erm sorry can't remember exactly. But I have extracted XIP ROM files this way so I know it works.

this link isn't working for me. It says "Sorry. The administrator has banned your IP address." But I have never been there on this page.
Could you please post how to dump.
And is there also a way to get this dumped ROM back on the phone when I want to set it back to the original ROM?
I have a german O2 XDA Cosmo and there is no original ROM to find but I want to have a way back - and of course I could upload (to a secret place of course ) for all of you to try it out.
I don't know anything about the XDA so I dunno if it still works for it or not.. but this is what Hannip wrote in his post...
I'm afraid it might be too much for a newbie. First you have to make a registry change using your favorite registry editor such as Resco.
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies
valuename '00001001' was set to dword:2, change it to dword:1
Then you have to download and install the itsutils package from
http://nah6.com/~itsme/download/itsutils.zip
1. Unzip the contents of itsutils.zip on c:\itsutils
2. Connect your Treo 750 to PC using USB cable, and make sure ActiveSync is running and connected.
3. Open a command prompt on your PC (Start->Run enter cmd.exe)
4. At the command prompt cd c:\itsutils\build
5. List the rom partitions using the following command.
C:\itsutils\build>pdocread.exe -l
You should see a result such as:
Part00 0x31fc00 3199KB
Part01 0x2e0000 2944KB
Part02 0x2a80000 43520KB
Part03 0x4360000
You will be extracting Part00, Part01 and Part02.
6. Extract the parts
C:\itsutils\build>pdocread -w -d FLASHDR -p Part00 0 0x31fc00 Part00.raw
C:\itsutils\build>pdocread -w -d FLASHDR -p Part01 0 0x2e0000 Part01.raw
C:\itsutils\build>pdocread -w -d FLASHDR -p Part02 0 0x2a8000 Part02.raw
Make sure the hex starting addresses in the above commands match what was listed from step 5 for each partition before executing the commands.
If successful you should have 3 files. Part00.raw, Part01.raw and Part02.raw. Now would be a good time to zip this up and upload to the xda ftp server if you wish to make this available for others to help you.
Ftp it to ftp.xda-developers.com using USERNAME: xdaupload / PASSWORD: xda. If you've never used ftp before let me know and I'll give step by step.
7. The key partition you will be interested in is Part02.raw. It is the imgfs that contains most of the rom files. To extract the files from it you will need to download some more tools.
Dowload imgfs_tools_182.rar from this url and extract to the folder where your Part02.raw file is in.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=249836
Run the following two commands.
prepare_imgfs.exe Part02.raw -nosplit
viewimgfs.exe imgfs_raw_data.bin
All of the files will be extracted to a dump folder.
@oplitic: thanx a lot for posting
meanwhile I figured out that I can access from my PC at home - maybe treocentral doesn't like my company - but I have nothing to do with smartphones or Microsoft/Palm SW development at work...
it looks like it's a similar way itsme does with his bkondisk (see also HTC Exalibur technical wiki)
I managed to backup my ROM with it, but I still cannot find anything how to get the ROM back to the phone...
So if anyone find out please, please let me know
P.S.: the XDA Cosmo is of same construction as the Excalibur/Dash - don't why O2 decided to name it XDA - it's NOT a PPC
@oplitic: this method won't work on excalibur, see the wiki page. Will only work on devices such as hermes and trinity...
@r0p3: Excalibur bootloader will not allow you to flash unsigned code, and pdocwrite will not work on SamsungOneNAND. At the moment you won't be able to flash a dumped rom on excalibur with the existing tools.

I figured out that it wouldn't work last night, and have been trying to extract files from the exe for the WM5 upgrade. But I get to the last step and can't get it to work. I have the raw file but it won't dump it into a folder...
this is what I've been using to try to dump it out of the raw file...

It works exactly as described in oplitics post - I did it recently.
Important thing is the "-nosplit" Option for prepare_imgfs and that you replace FLASHDR with DSK1: and the hex values correctly as given by pdocread -l
Although I had no luck with the files created by bkondisk

SSPL has an hermes or trinity IPL embedded, that won't work on excalibur. The hermes SSPL works on breeze because breeze & hermes IPLs are quite the same, but compare them with an excalibur IPL and you'll see what i mean.
You can probably replace the resource on the exe with an excalibur IPL, or try to contact Des for help with SSPL.
thank you pof!

Hi guys. As some of you know i made kitchens for few HTC devices, as the Wizard, Hermes and Artemis.
My new kitchen, named obviously HyperCore, is a multi device compatible kitchen and it will also include your device, the HTC Trinity.
I managed to implement settings for Trinity but i will need somebody to test it, prior public release. Thus, anyone who wants to be a tester, please send me a PM.
I will need someone who is ..not experienced, but have the least of knowledge. I don't mean to be offensive but i'd like to release it later today and...i am in a little hurry, since i have other things on my mind too.

2) Now I go in Extact Panel and run Dumprom. It says:

Ok
3) Now it launch the Dutty good NBH tool. I selct the RUU_Signed.nbh and extract the files in the same folders
4) Now in "HyperCore\Extract\Source" folder I've this files:
a - RUU_Signed.nbh
b - PrimarySplash.nb
c - SecondarySplash.nb
d - Windows.nb (the ROM).
I think the d file must to rename in OS.nb. It's right?
infact it says:

There was one...on the website..but it's down.
Check the HyperCore\Panel\Extra folder. You will find there some stuff you may probably missed. There is one initflashfile generator...
Basically :
Create a new folder with name of your programs without spaces
extract contents of that cab with CabAnaliser (Extra folder) without paths..so all files are in the same folder.
Create a .dsm to which you assign an UUID ( http://www.famkruithof.net/uuid/uuidgen )
create the initflashfiles.txt with the help of the initflashfiles generator and place it in same directory
Create the "your_UUID.rgu" ..here are your registry settings. So...you create a new text document, write "REGEDIT4" first line, leave last line blank, copy inside it registry settings you find with the CabAnaliser ...and then save it as UNICODE.
Fix errors...like if the program doesn't have an install dir and in the path you find %installdir% that is in the initflashfiles.txt and in the .rgu.....
I have explained this before couple of times...it's better if somebody guides you to it.

Like that :
1. Extract rom located in HyperCore\Extract\Source with HyperCore\Panel\Extract\1. DumpROM
2. Convert it to dump
3. Convert dump to SYS and OEM (PKG TOOL)
4. Extract XIP
5. Move XIP and OS.nb to the HyperCore\Build\ROM folder
6. Move SYS and OEM to HyperCore\Build
7. Cook the SYS and OEM located in HyperCore\Build (Add/Remove folders, programs...)
7. Start BuildOS from HyperCore\Panel\Build
Read instructions in the program...and you'll be ok

Creating own Diamond kitchen....

I have finally managed to dump my rom of my TD. My main goal is to create a rom which is personalised for myself with cab files like WIMP, TT, SPB Time etc... programs i bought for my TC.
Now i have 4 .raw files and decided to download the Diamond Kitchen. After download i got a "kitchen" but with the parts from the Diamond rom which ofcourse i don't need.
I have read alot of WIKI pages, but i cannot find a tutorial how to create an own rom with personalised cab files.
What i have done:
1- created .raw files of my current rom 1.37.405.1 WWE
2- Downloaded the original rom of 1.37.405.1 WWE from HTC
3- Downloaded the Diamond kitchen here http://rapidshare.com/files/124999979/Diamond_HH_RomKitchen.part1.rar and http://rapidshare.com/files/125003993/Diamond_HH_RomKitchen.part2.rar (credits goes to caxio)
This is what i have now

In the OEM map i have lots of tools. My guess these are the tools which are going to be installed after a hard reset.
In the ROM map i have a XIP map and a OS.NB.payload file
In the SYS map i have a kinds of dll maps
And in the TOOLS map i have a lot of tools
My first question about this is...how can i extract the files from my dumped rom for the OEM, ROM and SYS maps?
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_HowtoExtractImgfs
This is a site i found for extracting .raw files, but the commands are for linux isn't? I am running windows

i have used for rebuild italian rom
I have taken a Kaiser kitchen, edited the htcrt.ini, placed RUU_signed.nbh .raw01 and .raw02 in the baseRom folderand pushed on !BEGIN.cmd
Let found out what happens....at first it created errors, but after that it began to make OS.nb etc...
At this moment i am at the HTC rom tool...everything looks ok for now
Is this ok?

IMO, if you really read the link that was given by caxio, you will be able to cook your own rom...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=337066
what i dont understand is why you are bother to extract .RAW from your device?
you can extract it from the available ROM (maybe using kaiser kitchen from alex), and cook it the way you like it, and repack again using that chinese kitchen...
Hmm, never thought of that indeed. But as far as i could see when i place the raw01 and raw02 files in the baseRom map, it automatically extract the raw files. And i dont know how to do it with the original rom.

you can extract the original rom and maybe some custom rom using existing kitchen... and with a few clicks you will get OEM, SYS and ROM (with XIP inside) folders...
Ok, what i have done so far is:
placed RUU_signed raw01 & raw02 in the BaseRom
Pushed !BEGIN.cmd and everything is running.
At the HTC rom tool i have selected the OS-new.nb file and created a new RUU_signed.nbh
So for now everything looks fine. But the now the main goal. Creating a personalized ROM with my own cab files and programs.
Before i push !COOK.cmd i can play with the programs i guess in the OEM folder. But is there a tutorial how to add programs to the OEM folder? Or ofcourse deleting it?
look at this: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser%20ROM%20Kitchen%20Tutorial
that is for kaiser... but the basic will be the same...
anyway i am not so sure that you can use kaiser kitchen to repack diamond...
Hey Yzord,
If you want to add apps to the rom you must convert your cabs to a socalled OEM package.
This package contains all files that need to be installed(*.exe, images and such), a file called "initflashfiles.txt"(unicode) that tells the buildOS where to put the files, and at last an .RGU file that contains registry settings for the programme.
A tool that can do this is called : Ervius Package Creator
Simply open the tool and open a cab file, then convert it to oem and there you go, your own oem file.
Then place the folder into the folder OEM and youre ready to go.

ps. making my own kitchen right now, so when it's done i'll let u know so you can take a peak into it.

I have downloaded the kaiser kitchen, but in the whole process no Ervius Package_Tools comes up. Also the dos prompt at the start is different.
That is why i ask here, cause the tutorial isnt updated anymore for the latest kaiser kitchen

I'm using the kaiser kitchen for almost a week now, so yes it will repack it good for the diamond as I flashed a lot of ROMS with my personal (created) OEM package's trying to amke them integrated into my personal rom.
In Kaiser Kitchen u can choose: <p> create a oem package
Also, in the directory of the kitchen there is a folder TOOLS, in this folder you would also find "packages creator 5.4.exe" wich is Ervius Package_Tools or option <m> in the menu.
be sure the kitchen is in the root of your drive(like C:\Kaiser ) otherwise file names could be to long.
PS: if you want some more help (van een nl-er ) just PM me and whe can chitchat on msn maybe

[Kitchen] How to create an acer E101 Rom, just for yourself?
First, here's a list of the different tools I've used:
Ryan Kitchen, from Ryan (Acer-club.ru) : http://acer-club.ru/Novaya-kuhnya-dlya-redaktirovaniya-proshivok-t822.html
Xip kitchen beta 6 from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=443383
Stock rom from acer : http://www.acer.com/worldwide/selection.html (Lauch the utility and grab the flash.bin file located in the installation folder before flashing)
Latest WM build from Da_G : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544445
SYS Porting Tool For Ervius Kitchen : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6138699&postcount=25
Step by step instruction:
01.Put your original flash.bin from acer website in the "Original_FLASH" folder in the Ryan_Kitchen
02.Execute the first batch "1.Disassemble_Flash.bat" and follow on screen instruction
03.Wait for 1 little minute after the end of the execution and lauch the second batch "2.Disassemble_Flash.bat"
You should now get a kitchen folder wich contains a "OEM", a "PACKAGEs", a "ROM" and a "SYS" folders. (and a dsm file on the root).
04.Delete everything in the ROM\XIP folder except the "boot.rgu" file.
05.Delete everything in the Sys folder, except the .ROM and .VM folders.
Creating your new XIP:
Extract all files from the latest build downloaded from DA_G and grab the xip.bin from it.
Get your actual xip from the Ryan_Kichen\Ectracted_ROM folder
Use Xip kitchen to build your new xip, follow the instruction of the original thread.
Copy the result xip-xip.bin to the Ryan_kitchen\New_XIP folder an rename it to xip_out.bin
Creating your new SYS
Extract all the files you need from the WM build with the sys porting tool for ervius kitchen (follow the original thread instruction)
For the ACER E1, we need to use 96 DPI and 240 * 400 resolution. I'm sure you know your regional code.
Copy all the files from the differents folders to a single one, to get something like what you've previously deleted from the SYS folder of the Ryan_Kitchen\Kitchen folder. Put all those files to this folder.
Copy all the files from the MSXIPKernel and the MSXIPKernelLTK from the WM build folder to the Ryan_Kitchen\Kitchen\ROM\XIP folder
06.Launch "3.Make_Flash.bat" and follow on screen instruction.
PkgToolsBuildOS is now runnig, go to BuildOS, click Load Rom and click The green triangle (play)
An error message appears (g'reloc not found) simply ignore it and close the program.
07.Launch "4.Make_Flash.bat" and follow on screen instruction.
08.Launch "5.Make_Flash.bat" and follow on screen instruction.
Your new rom is in the Ryan_Kitchen\Output_FLASH folder. Rename it to FLASH.bin and copy it to your SDCard.
09.Flash your phone.
It works for me, it should work for you.
Enjoy.

I've tried to cook manila directly in the rom without any succes, but feel free to try it.
Just for information, all the manila components used has been grabbed from the official HTC rom for the touch2 (mega).
You can simply used the ryan kitchen linked in the second post of the thread to unpack my rom and copy all the mega package from the OEM folder.
Enjoy.
Hello
Do not understand too much your topic on the establishment of Roms !
Maybe you could explain to me in French?
