For those of you with a device that is NOT supported for the official WM6 rom release, this is what you need to do to flash it to your device. It is a reversable process (save for m700 users, you all need to backup your OEM rom first).
First step, if you don't have it already get hard-spl:

Just one last question before I try :
You're refering to the "Hard-SPL_ZakMcRofl.zip" in your first post. On the other hand, I saw you opening a thread regarding the new "Hard-SPL 1.30 MFG - Oli.zip".
Which one should I/we use, or doesn't it make any difference.
Having a SFR/Vodafone s300+ I'm a bit scared as there's no genuine rom to downgrade back to in case I get blocked.

I want to try this ROM right now, but I don´t have access to rapidshare-like sites here in my office.
Can someone upload this ROM to a public server ZIPped and RARed with password (to avoid proxy to sneak into the file... it's blocking some downloads...)
I can setup a FTP account. If someone can upload the ROM to my server, I can share the ROM with people who has the same problem with rapidshare-and-stuff sites.

but....
now i want to return to the original rom and downgrading i obtain a vendor id error.
I tried to cid unlock the device also and the error i the same. any ideas that can help me?

ROM working but...
Hi there!
First of all thanks for the trouble of getting the nasty bits out of the bundle and giving us just the OS
But... (there seems to be always a "but" with WM6) I've been having some problems with this:
- VOIP is nowhere to be found, no SIP settings anywhere.
- Memory Stick corruption. From time to time my SDHC stick goes crazy, showing up strange characters for the filenames and only a soft-reset gets it back to normal.
- Did any of you guys manage to get Video Calling working?
Well... the major deal for me is the Memory Card issue... Anyone having the same problems? Any ideas?

This rom seem to not contain any ext_rom ...
The "Device Information" module dont report any EXT_ROM version ...
it's "normal" ?
The attached screen capture show the "Device information" tab.
There is no informations about the ext_rom.
I also cannot access to it thru Total Commander.
So... it seem that something is corrupted on this rom update...

I'm completely new to all this but have done my best to try and figure it out for myself but I'd still like to make sure I've understood a few things correctly...
I have an SFR s300+ bought here in France. The OS is WM5 and I'd like WM6.
I have allready tried out the "off"+"camera button"= soft reset to see if I needed to install a hard SPL : I do. I've downloaded Des' Crashproof (due to the reassuring name).
I can now install that by following the guide without backing anything up yet...
Once done I will have to copy all my important info and then I will be able to flash any ROM of my choice (English, French, official or not) is that right? If I'm not mistaken and I can install any ROM, which English ROM is the best (this one looks good...)?
I'd also like to know if I have to install a radio after this or will the one I have at the moment (that works fine) be preserved?
If I do have to install a radio which do you recommend for SFR in France considering I sometimes go to Spain.

Hi guys in order to make this work on my diamond Make NEW SoftBank AP setting on ANY Hermes ROM W/O cooking!. I need my Diamond to not be SuperCID... how can I make this happen ?
As for today this works on ALL my devices Hermes (Both Dopod and Softbank) and even my X7510, but not on my Diamond... Can anyone help ?

friend, thats bcoz on newer devices make it SuperCID is quite hard... very hard. So basiclly they just patch a MFG bootloader and bypass CID check. So you never think in superCID and that thing...

i stepped on my polaris, and need to send it to hong kong for repair. so i got a x04ht (diamond) today. i guess you are looking for working wifiwake.exe. i will patch it myself tonight (i have done it for polaris myself) will upload it here for you when i am done.

Err ... SuperCID means to write region info. And that one either by patching SPL or by security unlocking the device.
The latter one needs MFG bootloader and a patched radio to write the right flag into region info.
I'm missing the reversing spirit over here ... swear words won't help anybody.
As I do not know what this "Softbank AP" is, I might not be able to help at all.
But considering theory, I'm quite sure once the dev is security unlocked it will work.

What country are you from and see from the WIKI what is the latest release of the WM6 ROM come with, chances are that will be the best radio for you.
Please read the WIKI!! To make sure that you are flashing the correct ROM to the right DEVICE!!

If you had truly read the wiki then you would understand that the imate brought out the 1.54.30.10 radio with the latest ROM upgrade here
Release thread was here. Now do a careful upgrade and report what's it like in Pakistan
allow me to help because it seems like you've gotten lost in translation and this is getting out of hand.
if you flashed your Black Satin rom then you obliviously know what you're doing to some degree. in regards to your radio rom question: flashing a radio rom does not effect the OS rom you have (black satin). the only thing flashing the radio rom does effect is your phones cellular radio, i.e., your carrier signal strength, data connection speed. since im in Philadelphia i cant really help you decide on which radio will work best in your area. i can only point you here

these are the known radio roms available for the Hermes. at best, i can say start with 1.47.XX and see what works best for your area. good luck to you.

Hmm ... I am in New Zealand, and I am testing the latest radio rom, and it is working well, what works well for one country may not work for others, I would stick to the one the manufacturer's made for you. It is good for you to flash a shipped rom for your device first then any other rom you wish to keep after that. FYI I have an imate jasjam and I am running the latest radio, but doesn't mean that you should too.

he hit the nail on the head. im using the "newest" radio myself and i must say battery life is excellent and im picking up an extra bar here in Philly (USA). i say try it for 2 days then make your own call

If there isn't a Radio produced by a carrier in Pakistan then you are going to have to try a few Radios to see which one is best for you. Please use a MicroSD card to update your Radio as we don't want your next thread title to be "Please help, I bricked my phone".

try 1.54 or 1.48 radio. 1.54 is the orginal shipped radio for 8525 wm6 from at&t/cingular. i remember using that one in India, and it worked just fine for me.

Just one further note please try and be honest when you post your problems/ questions. Detail your phone make and model, and the current ROM and Radio rom you have.

As mentioned by some of the great members like Wam7, Zocster, and thunda_chunky, read as much as you can before flashing a new radio ROM. So much of what goes on here is trial and error. All you can do is try to eliminate the error. I am running the same radio as Zocster, 1.56.70.11, and it holds the highest signal strength of any previous radio I've had. That doesn't mean it will for you depending on your carrier and location.
mikehippe, Agreed, I'm trying out 1.56.70.11 on my jasjam and though others say its awesome, I'm not too impressed by it here in Oz... Oh well, back to 1.54.30.10.....

you might of heard of gold card, but all that is - is the correct original/ship rom put on an Sd card and flashed from Sd.. (we cant find original/ship rom so no point in gold card)
your best option i would say, is to create a new thread asking if anyone has:
"1.13.111.1 ROM DUMP.."
(finding the rom dump you need is your best and only option.. a rom dump might not even exist, but someone might have it, or be willing to dump their rom for you..)
it might be worth Trying the german 1.13 tmobile rom found on the wiki link.. (i doubt it will work but no harm in just giving it a try eh..)

ok iim a vveerrryyy big noob when it comes to phones so...i was just usng my dad's htc hd2 via wifi..and launchd some prog and it updated the phone ...nd now my phone is now in ARABIC!!!i googled around a bit and found out tht ill hav to use hard spl4 to flash a new rom on it...so i did managed to install it on my pohne but hav no idea wat to do further...infact i dnt knw if im doin correctly or nt.....i knw ill hav to select rom and install it but i get confuse on choosing ..which rom to choose...i mean there are..1.48..1.42..etc etc...i need my phone to b bak to english but hav no idea wat to do...here are my phone software info if u need ..

dude I told you it does I have the same phone it may not be called language but it surely does change the language.
anyways slide the bottom most tab to the right of your phone. you willl be in settings. then try the symbol that looks like a globe or something. if you can't understand me then read until you do. you can restore the phone. but you will have to read a lot.
i just remember i had the same ROM as well. so you CANNOT say that it doesnt have lang optns

Look for a WWE Rom. WWE means World Wide English. I, too, have an HD2 but I've never had the problem of an app re-languaging my handset. HSPL is important, and as long as you've installed HSPL, you won't be able to brick your dad's phone.
You have to do your own homework, pretty much. That's the bad news. The good news is that you didn't ****can your dad's phone, you just temporarily effed it up a bit.
Look for a "how to flash everything" guide in the HD2 forums here. They spell it out pretty clearly, there. Step by step.
Sorry I can't help more, but look around and read a bit. And read the warnings next time, before you flash sth. ;-)
But seriously, with HSPL you won't be able to brick it. You can always reset and get back to where you're at now.

First thing, go the right forum. [click the link below] See at the top where it says:

You want to go to the WinMo6.5 forum. There you'll find everything you need to read up on. The guide below should help a bit.

"There included 6 SPLs:
OSPL 1.42, OSPL 1.66, OSPL 2.08 (Original SPL)
HSPL 1.42, HSPL 1.66, HSPL 2.08 (Hard SPL)
Remember that some ROMs have old SPLs, for example 2.10 ROM have 2.08 SPL, 1.72 ROM have 1.66 SPL and etc!
You can install any of them using HSPL2."
^^THS I DNT UNDERSTAND.....also how will the procedure alter since ths guide is of hspl2 and i used hspl4
Look for a ROM that says it's compatible with your radio (2.07---...I think, you said). You'll also need to check to make sure it will work with hspl4.
Try flashing it.
It doesn't so much matter which you pick, really, as long as it's compatible. You're going to be ****ting bricks while it flashes, but if you follow the install instructions, you'll be fine.

hmmm,...so ive got to choose a rom that matches my radio ..how would i knw if it matches my radio or nt???and also how would i knw if a rom is compatible with hspl4 or nt??...answer these two questions plzz

First Q: In the description of the ROM, the OP will usually write a line or 2 about the radio:
Radio 2.x.x.x
where the x's are substituted with numbers. This is the radio that the ROM works with. You just have to read.
Second Q: Again, the OP will write in the description which versions of SPL the ROM should work best with. You just have to read.

can any1 tell me what do 1.43 or 1.48 in arom mean...and which of these is compatible with mine??
thnx alot every1 ...i finally managed to flash it back to its stock rom ...though i completely neglected the radio part..lols...soo thnx every1 again...and mods close the thread
