Hi All,
I am lately frustrated with my ASUS 320 that i bought in Italy from the cellphone provider TIM Italy.I was tol it 'll operate in English however the whole thing is in Italian , i just can hear you folks telling me to got it changed, yes unfortunately its a bit lately for that and quite honest the phone with the functions seems great.
So this is what i am trying to do and where i am failing.
From several memeber (thanks to all of them ) i tried flashing the WWE in diferent ways .First i have been told to use the chinese firmware's autorun.exe (aparently this ain't checking any version ) and using the WWE's bin file in the same folder and flash it.This method unfortunately failed and gives the message that i need to ensure that the language has to be the same as the phone ones.During soft reset at the startup screen , it fails again.
So at this point ASUS told me to sent it to their service center and to be installed with the english version of the windows mobile 6.1 , they said its a licensing thing and i had to pay for it.
So i am really at my last nerve i guess , is there anyone , anyone who can help me out here.Once again the device is from the italian cellphone service company TIM italia the language is Italian and i want to change (flash ) it to English start up screen gives
" ROM 4.10.0_0718_ITA_ITA"

Thanks for the reply , but unfortunately thats the sit where i am getting my ROM's and , again , tried it this morning and still the same problem happens.It tells me to make sure that its the same language , or durung soft reset (holding volume button down while resetting) it saiys failed .
Anyone else please help ?

I just bought O2 XDA II mini S but got the German version. So need help to convert it in to English version..... I tride to unlock the phone with lokiwiz02B but no luck giving error " internal error- unable to write on disk". Also tride to upgrade the ROM with (downloaded from O2 uk site) but it is not working.
Guys please help me out....
be sure that the rom is made for your device if it's made for another xda it will not work

I tride with couple of ROM available on O2 site but no luck. Phone is in working condition, SMS, Contacts etc are displyed in English script but basic script is Germen. How to solve the issue.
what do you mean basic script ?
as in all other text then the text in those places you mention ?
I mean, contacts, sms I can read in proper English script but icon names, help etc are in german script. I want to convert this phone into English language. Please help me out
Phone is got converted to English with CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE. Thanks for the same. But after installing the said ROM phone has downgraded now tell me how to upgrade the ROM. I tried with O2 UK WWE ROM but while installation giving error " Upgrade Only". How to upgrade said ROM. Also guide me on the keyboard issue : if I press Z it types Y and viseversa.

I had bought ASUS P535 in Ukraine, I bought it thinking that its OS is in English but the OS is in Russian language
I tried a lot seeking help from ASUS technical support and as well as Microsoft but none helped I even went to the local service center which deals with ASUS PDAS but they too refused to help.
Actually i have checked recent posts about changing but they date back to march 2007 or older date with older firmware versions from ASUS. I am afraid if i do as they have mentioned then there might be some error because mine is windows mobile 6 professional in Russian.
Here are the details which i find in my Russian OS :-
from MENU -> SETTINGS -> SYSTEM INFORMATION - >
DATE ROM - 2007/7/27
VERSION PZY - V4.7.20RUS_RU00
VERSION BOOT BLOKA - 070416122657

Please do help me regarding the extact procedure and also which ROM to put in mini SD card.

First, all that I will tell you now, applies to P525, that I have and tried myself. While P535 maybe is similar, it also can differ.
To change the OS language, you will need to flash an English (WWE) ROM instead of default russian one.
You can get English ROM update from ASUS support site, but it will refuse to install because of different language. To circumvent it, you use special "unlocklangid' utility or flash ROM via non-standard "bootloader" method. Boths are described in the custom ROM threads in this forum (at least for P525).

It is my second WM phone...
and it is the first time I ever think about modifying it...

however...there are still many parts that are English only...
I have no problem reading English...
but then there are songs that I would like to have in Chinese...

have a similar situation here.. I have an unlocked x02ht with the dopod730 rom and would like to install the Softbank ROM so I can use all the Softbank mobile features... but 1. where to get the rom 2.what is necessary to install it?

I had Softbank, turned it into DOPOD C730 to unlock and use outside Japan. Now I lost the softbank access point password.

Mine start, but over 40 seconds after boot, this message ( appears and i can't use the cellular "SIM lock. You can still make emergency calls if you service provider supports it"
I've tried with 3 different SIMs and without SIM and i get the same message....
I think that installing a new software maybe will fix it, but ... i don't have any idea of how could i do it.

Iv installed TLR Diamond ROM 1 and my fone had a Russian Rom on it when I bought it. Can anyone help me?? When I try contacting to vodafone..the wait cursor appears but nothing happens..

Thanx for the rep mate but as a matter of fact i tried everything, u c i have have alot of devices and frequently ugrade most of them and have never bricked any of them..but the diamond just dosnt work for me. Tired installed signed and unsigned roms with the reqiured spl'z but...
Even when the roms are loaded the system is slow and non-responsive. It was fine when i bought it with the Russian rom on it..WHATS WRONG...Dont have a clue..
Did you try installing the new roms that came out yesterday? with updated localization(network settings)???

Thanx for the info guys.. oddball1~ i did try installing the newer roms that came out yesterday but no help there..I guess SecureGSM is write..just read the thread and I think its the region protection. According to that nothing simz to wok AND its work in progress..i guess i just have to wait or start tryn cookin my own roms..lol

ok guys..iv installed the Russian rom back on the device and now the networks connected.As for before everything was working fine..touch flow n all only no network..but after the Russian rom..all gud...So according to my knowledge there is a lock with the network that only allows the Russian stock rom...if only there was a way to change the language...m able to change the language of the touch flow by changing the language code in the registry but not the whole rom..as i can remember some guy changed the laguage in the registy and installed a software which changed the roms language but it wasnt a diamond....hmm..more googling i guesss...Any help!!!

i am very new in this handheld business and before i go ahead and crash the device i thought i could get some assistance , i already read some of the threads regarding from french to english and chinese to english.My thing is i just bought this yesterday in italy and once i get started with it . reallized that the whole thing is ,in italian its from a cell provider called TİM in italy.So can anyone guide my step by step what to do in order to make this device all english

You must download from ASUS 2 firmwares, ENG and CHN.
Extract in your SD the folder 2577 from ENG version
Overwrite autorun.exe in SD\2577 with the one in CHN version.
Put your SD in your p320 and play!!!
The difference is in autorun.exe, chinese version doesn't check language, so you can flash what you want!!!
Thanks i will try it as soon as possible , since i work on a cruiseship , the internet connection is very bad , so first i have to get the chinese firmware since i have the the ENG version , from the CHN version i just need the autorun.exe nothing else right and delete the autorun from the ENG version.

i tried to flash the english.bin using the chinese autorun.exe but it still doesn't work , i even tried to flash the whole chinese 2577 file first to see , if that would make a difference , in the end it still gives failed message (during soft reset) or it tells me to ensure its the same language .
So i am looking for other ways.
Please anymore assistance is needed

no more help i guess from members of this site , very disappointed , i have spoken finally with Asus here and the advised me to sent the device in they will be loading the mobile 6.1 professional english version for $ 30.
