I recently sent a message to HTC Support asking:
Hi, I recently accquired a HTC Touch P3452 from Thailand with WM6.0 as OS. Through the last months I have seen updates to WM6.1 become available for Europe and US customers.
Since my phone is from Asia-pacific region I have been told that these updates does not apply to me (SN: XXXXXXXXXXXX).
Will there be one for the Asia-pacific region, or my phone at all (see above serial number)?
If so when ???

Thank you for contacting HTC Europe.
Even though stated on the website, there will not be any upgrades for HTC Touch to Windows Mobile 6.1. Due to an error on the website, it gives the illusion that there are upgrades available for download (of Windows Mobile 6.1), this is indeed false. HTC will offer upgrades to WM6.1 for the following models:
HTC Touch Cruise, HTC S730 and HTC Tytn II.
Just thought some of you might like to know. My apologies if this has already been brought up.
If anyone has any other information in regards to an "official" upgrade available for a newbie with no experience at to in flashing rom's, it would be most appriciated..

Hi and welcome to XDA! You'll see that this site is full of ressources.
You own a HTC Touch Elfin. This is the section for the HTC Touch Vogue. They look very similar but are in fact quite different.
The Elf has a sim card in it (GSM service). The Vogue dosn't need any (CDMA)...
I Think HTC Europe only has the GSM versions and there aren't any 6.1 versions for those as far as i know... Any way, you should search and read the Elf section here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=-1&f=372

support though - where do we get firmware updates from when they arrive?
Also, how about Windows Pocket - as far as I can see on the Windows Mobile site there's no downloads/support available.
For one we need the WiFi upgraded at some point...
Better buy an iMater, they have a support page and forum. :?

I'm a newbie to this forum. Yes, before you all say anything I know they'r the same thing, packaged differently.
Since I'm in Canada, I'll be paying full price for either of those two, unlocked ofcourse. Was wondering if there are any pros/cons to either those two and which one would you all recommend?

With Artemis you should have HTC patches and upgrades, with branded devices you may wait longer (for O2, Orange... software releases). HTC officially announced WM6 ROM for Artemis and help for other brands if they will decide to buy WM6 license, but you don't know if they will...
Will O2 be offering a WM6 upgrade? Someone just posted that O2 will not be offering an update. I'm wondering if I shud get O2 or not. I really like the Orbit, but now im confused.
O2 havo no plans to upgrade for now, but they don't say no for ever - so we don't really know...
I've ordered HTC P3300 only because everything seems confirmed for it, plus I'm getting it with all North American maps. Will let you guys know when I recieve it in a few days.
Hi guys, great forum. I have a v1605 on contract with Vodafone UK and I am told that it belongs to Hermes / TyTn family from HTC.
I wanted to know if there was a WM6 upgrade for this model as the guys at HTC Europe were not ready to talk about any network centric phones though their own upgrade is coming around end-July.
Actually I wanted to upgrade my handset to the successor of TyTn which I believe is Kaiser, but nobody at Vodafone is ready to talk about it.
Any help in this area will be appreciated.

Hi by any chance did you manage to local and install WM6 on your V1605 as I'm trying to find a ROM upgrade of WM6 but no luck. Can any help me with this...?

it's about upgrading dopod d810 which is the same as P3600
Starting July 6th with the Dopod D810 (HTC P3600), then the 838Pro (HTC TyTn) on the 9th, with the U1000 (HTC Advantage) and P800w (P3300) closing out the giving on the 11th and 13th. So, for all you official Dopod owners out there, all you need to do is hit the site, sign up with your device serial number and get at the goods. Don't forget to drop us a line and let us know how those upgrades go.
I guess you need to go back to posts made around the end of june to know that this is old news and the rom is already in our devices
So I have an HTC touch pro2 bought from the middle east. i've gone to the htc mea page, but there are no updates concerning winmo6.5. Also, if i try using htc europe or uk, it says this update not suitabe for my device.
so, where can i get winmo 6.5 for my device? what country should i pick?
also, are there any risks involved?
fyi, i only use english on my phone.
