backup ROM...

Hi,
I would like to know how to backup the ROM of my new Hermes device before to upgrade it to new ROM and to new WM6 ?
where can i find the tool for that ?

Sprite Backup is what you are looking for.

You can try it out for free. Use Device Upgrade option to restore to a WM6 rom.

As far as i know spritebackup does not do a ROM backup.
We have it and i did not see such possibility.
I was thinking more to dump ROM and modify nb files to create my own ROM after....
to customize it for our company and to flash it on every hermes laters on.

And your current ROM is probably somewhere in here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Upgrades.
So, use Sprite Backup and Mr. Vanx's tutorial and you can go back to your current state.

Aye, you could either 'dump' the current ROM using some of the many tools available here or just do as Larsuck suggests and just go ahead with your ROM change but download a copy of your original ROM before you start, just so you know you've got it safe.
As far as I know, most or all legit ROMs are freely downloadable.

Just managed to dump the dutch rom, now what?

Ok guys/gals,
I just managed to dump the dutch rom. So how do I turn this into a backup usable for all dutch diamond owners? I have part00, 01, 02 and 03.

You must reconstruct the ROM as described here

MayBY a dumb question, but did you save Ur original SPL???
before U flashed (if U flashed by the way??) it?..
Asking cause I also have the dutch version, but still reading (lotsof post B-4 flasing nd upgrading) , nd don't want 2 F-up in the beginning

I don't believe i have the original spl. But that's not needed the experts from this forum will provide for the old spl. Hard spl is hard to f*up.

Ok just finished, and am now testing... wish me luck.

All went well, as of now there is a working original dutch rom. Scary to do for the first time and verry scary to test yourself but it all worked well.

Ok not all is well. The only thing i am now missing with this self build rom is the touch flo 3d. Everything else is ok. So only missing touch flo manilla. Anyone any idea on how to fix this?

Can you post you're rom. I also am trying to build my rom but so far i only managed to dump the rom. I will look over for a 3dtouchflow cab.

ah, so basicly U mean when u flash ur spl to udgrade ur rom, it turns back 2 original spl??..
so no pmemdump needed? reason 4 asking is i saw somewhere in another thread that theyve posted an original spl of the diamond. it was 1.250000 but mines a dutch version and came with a 1.35 0000 as an spl... (dont wanna lose waranty just yet...)

Are you sure it is not somewhere a setting in the registry to start touchflow 3D, but it is still installed? Would be strange if that is the only piece of software missing.
On a side note, how did you recreate your dumped raw parts into a flashable ROM? Care to write down your procedure so I can have a try as well (must be real scary to flash your own ROM! )

sorry I have been real bussy, will try and see if I can upload today.

Ok here you go the dutch raw01 and raw02 files. These files are ok beceause I can cook a working rom with them. Only problem is that the rom I cooc doesn´t have the touch flo 3d. Here is the download link:

i am very interested to test out the english rom 1.37 to see if it is really faster. but i want to be able to go back to my own rom. (dutch)
so could the people that have done this give some links to information about:
1. how to back-up and restore your own rom
2. which hardspl works (or is it not needed)
3. personalize your diamond to your language (t9, automatic network settings etc)
i know that the threads are out there, but this way, we can use the knowledge from the people that have done it with their diamond.

i also had the dutch rom, but i upgraded it to the english rom, can verry recommend that. T9 is working in dutch but you need to add some rules to your registry

Which English version did you take? The UK one (405) or the Asian one? (707)

i do have the same question , but my main concern is the warranty. If I make a backup of my original ROM using hard SPL and flash it to a custom firmware . Do I still have my warranty if I restore the original ROM ? Will HTC can track my flash activity on my device ?

As u all know that some files in the OEM r diff for HTC, Dopod & Softbank ... in order for a better WM6.1 ROM, I need the WM6 Roms ...
Hopefully somebody can put up links for the req roms.
Or just provide me wz the dump(raw also can do)

What do you mean "not original"???
If you sim unlocked your phone, now it probably has Dopod Rom, so it's no good.

Sorry if this a a stupid response - if you need the original WM6 ROM image, can you not extract from the ROM's stored on the XDA FTP Server :

One question..... in the HOW TO the last step of the files says "a valid signed official Touch ROM.". Maybe this sound a bit dumb, but... i guess that I need to use the Cava ROMs right?

just do until dump the os ... part02.raw ..
upload it in asapload.com, will b fine wz me ... see the howto in 1st post of this thread

I MIGHT be able to convince a friend to 'DUMP' his ROM. I am new to all this.....
What exactly does this do to the phone after it's dumped? Can he use it on softbank, or does he need a new ROM? Is there anyway to screw it away and 'brick' his phone?

nothing will be done to the phone it wont brick ur phone, refer to the thread.
I have made a WWE version of the softbank rom ... not in Japanese yet ... cant find the correct language files that work on WM6.1 ...

Flashing English Rom to German

Hello
I bougth a p3300 in Kuala Lumpur. Now i woud like to Change the Language to German. I found allready the htc German Rom Version. But now i have some Questions still left. When i flash the Rom to the German Version, will i have still the same Office and other Programs i had when i bougt it or will dey by away? Is ist the sama as now but only in German? Please Help, before i Change somathing wrong. Is it possible to Sava the old Rom Version what i have now?

well if u flash a new rom everything saved on the internal memory will go away including programs
u can back up contacts and msg, email appointment using pimp backup and then putting them in the new rom without problems but else am afraid u can't
and most roms have the office included but other programs may not so u have to reinstall them
