Bluetooth Hardware Failure - P3300, MDA Compact III General

I got this message stating bluetooth hardware failure when trying to pair with other devices. Bluetooth is enabled all the way but cant connect. LED light also not on.
I am suspecting some connection problems with the bluetooth hardware because when I tried to open up the housing and put it back, sometimes it is working.
Can someone point to me which is the bluetooth hardware on the mainboard?

Mine has not done this with my Jawbone Icon, Motorola S10-HD stereo headphones or my Volkswagen Tiguan. Perhaps you might try another bluetooth device?
buletooth issue?
I had try different device and do the same thing, like my audi q7 and jarba headset and the garmin. Can you tell me what buletooth setting you are using?
Mine has intermittent issues as well, I'm using an older Motorola 710 BT earpiece. I'll only turn on BT on the phone when I know I'm going to use the earpiece, such as when driving or needing to be hands-free. I only activate the earpiece after enabling BT on the phone, but there are times when the earpiece does not connect.... the only fix is to reboot the phone. Is that similar to the issue you are having?
I'm having issues connecting to my car. If I reboot the phone and connect it will work. But once it's disconnected and I turn bluetooth off and then back on from the phone, it will not connect. Only way to fix it is to reboot. Don't know how to fix the issue. Never had a problem connecting my Sensation to my car's bluetooth.
My issue is similar in turning bluetooth on and off via the power widget and not being able to re-connect to my bluetooth earpiece after a few cycles. I'm wondering if it may be an issue with it being BT 2.0 versus BT 3.0 on the phone?
I thought it was my car but a lot ppl is having this issue too.
Sometimes it wont connect but it says connected so i have to go to BT settings and click where it says connected n overwrite the connection for it to work if not gotta restart the phone. :/
Tmo Galaxy S2
I'm having problems with a SoundFly FM Transmitter in my car.
At first it took forever to pair. And even when paired & connected it's really glitchy.
I'm using this mainly for GPS turn by turn over the car sound system. But because it is glitchy I can't use it because some of the directions get cut off.
I had a MyTouch 4G before. No problems whatsoever. I don't if it's a hardware or driver or BT device issue.
I'm willing to get a new FM Transmitter but not if it does the same thing.
It didn't work well on stock or rooted w/ Juggernaut rom
this is quite annoying. I wonder why this topic died so quickly, there have to be more people with this problem? Maybe has something to do with a bluetooth power saving sleep feature? Streaming music, pause music for a few minutes, incoming call gets connected but I get no sound through headset.

Bluetooth Not Connecting - Worked Previously

OK, so I got everything working on my unit back in November. Bluetooth worked fine and connected with my phone and OBD device (OBDLink LX).
Suddenly within the last couple of weeks, it's stopped connecting. I have tried rebooting the radio, unplugging/replugging my bluetooth OBD, unpairing the phone, repairing, etc... Nothing seems to work for more than a few minutes. Sometimes it will work for one trip, but then the next trip it's back to REFUSING to connect to either bluetooth device. Remember - BOTH worked before, and I didn't change anything.
Since it's happening with both my Phone and my OBD device, it appears like it is a fault in the stereo. I really don't want to do a full factory reset as that would entail many hours sitting in the car wasting gas idling while I reinstall/reconfigure EVERYTHING only to not even be sure it won't do this again.
Anybody have any tips on something I can do to fix this? There does not appear to be any kind of "unpair" option in the bluetooth settings on the radio itself. I'm wondering if there's a way I can manually reset just all of the bluetooth settings - blow them away and start over without resetting the whole device.
This is a pretty big deal - one of the #1 reasons I bought this device was for OBD datalogging. If that feature does not work, I will rip it out of my dashboard and ebay it. PERIOD...
Adcice?
Nobody?
I tried changing the bluetooth device name, changing the PIN and re-pairing my devices. They work intermittently, but 90% of the time won't connect, or if they do, they won't stay connected.
This is turning my radio into an expensive piece of garbage...

Try keeping wifi on all the time (even if not actually connected to any network).

I do have Wifi on all the time. I have an LTE Hotspot I keep in the glovebox of my car that powers up as soon as the car powers on. So there's 100% wifi coverage for my stereo no matter where I'm at.
I can randomly get it to connect, but it won't stay connected. When I'm in the bluetooth menu, the devices will actually disappear from the paired devices list. Both paired and available will go blank just suddenly as the devices drop off. Then they'll reappear on their own. So it appears to be the bluetooth stack is crashing - but I'm not sure why.
It is a KLD RK3188 unit. Running latest MCU (came preloaded, just bought it in November - I haven't put a new MCU) and recent firmware, which is a stock firmware, not MalaySK (MalaySK doesn't support the digital display below the screen on my unit)...
At this point this unit is trash if I can't keep Bluetooth working more than 10% of the time.

Some smartphones might show an incompatibility with the radio's BT stack. To be sure try with another smartphone.
I would see if it pairs reliably with just one device at a time. My phone has issues connecting with the HU if I first connect my BT headset to the phone but works fine if I do it after. Also the construction of these seems to be sub-par and it could be the bt device or antenna in yours was not connectec/mounted well and you hit a pothole and now its not attached/broken/loose. It may be worth opening and looking inside for something that broke off or is loose. Finally, I have had (well still have) my factory settings change randomly and have to go in and reset. There are settings in the for BT module and it may be worth looking to see if yours are correct.
I also have problems with mine but I'm running Marshmallow in my OPO. As soon as i go back to Lollipop (CM 12.1) it works again.

Turns out I think it's the OPO. Mine has issues even with 12.1. I think it's based on Modem version not firmware version. Your modem may have been changed when you went back to 12.1.
For me changing modem versions is something I really want to avoid. I hunted forever for a modem version that didn't constantly drop WiFi and LTE, finally found one, and I think that's when the Bluetooth issues started. Every time I flash a modem to the OPO it becomes a nightmare. That phone really does not want you messing with the firmware which is not what I expected when I bought it.
For now I'm back on my old Nexus 5. No problems. I may just sell the OPO and never stray from Nexus again.

Hmmm.
My OPO doesn't connect to the headset but my chinese BT OBD dongle connects fine and works.
I have the same problem with my unit but phone working.Only obd2 adapter some times not connecting.Have you find any solution?
I have a similar issue with the Pixel XL.
Previous I was on a Nexus 5 Bluetooth worked perfectly every time without fail, could make calls, listen to music and sync address book no issue.
Now since moving to the Pixel XL I have an issue connecting to the head unit. The head unit shows as a connected device, but then flashes green then grey, green, grey showing connected, disconnected... I can still stream music from my phone over Bluetooth, but voice is not achievable.
Like suggested it's likely to be the BT stack in the handset rather than the head unit as works fine with Nexus 5. Highly frustrating and likely no fix unless it can be patched by software update
I'm also having the same problem as you noodlemctwoodle on a Nexus 6P with 7.1 developer preview.
I've un-enrolled from the beta program this morning, waiting for the ota to come down, as soon as it does will re-test and let you know if it's working, as I suspect it is a problem with the bluetooth stack in 7.1
MTCD MLT (Xtrons TD618AS) Bluetooth and OBD Reader
I have had issues with the Bluetooth on the MTCD MLT V1.76_1 (Xtrons TD618AS).
I found a work around which allows me to use the OBD reader successfully. I downloaded an Android Bluetooth App and toggled off the Bluetooth. Once the Bluetooth was toggled off I was able to access the OBD reader by using the "Piston" OBD app. I tapped on the car picture and waited for the app to think about things. Once the app finished thinking I was able to start capturing the live OBD data by pressing the play picture. I am only speculating, but I feel as though perhaps the firmware engineers goofed. This is even the OBD reader that Xtrons promoted as compatible with the TD618AS stereo I bought with it at the same time. Not to mention that I continually lose FM radio even though the stereo was professionally installed and no wires were cut. I was very excited, and now only depressed.

Bluetooth pairing problems

Hello, I am getting weird problem when using bluetooth devices with my HTC 10 (stock rom)
I bought a bluetooth device with aux-in for my car radio.. That way I only enable BT on my phone and devices connect without problems.
But I also have a small Bluetooth speaker I use when I renovate the apartment (JBL GO).
The problem is when I paired car bluetooth device so it can connect automatically and after that also connected bluetooth speaker this one does not want to connect. If I unpair car bluetooth device, the speaker connect normally.. also if speaker connect and I come down to my car and try to pair to car bluetooth device, it doesnt want to connect/pair... Again if I remove BT speaker from paired devices, car bluetooth device connect normally...
Why is that, anyone knows a solution? Why can I have only one BT device paired with my phone?
Thank you for answers
i have this problem too.
Had this problem myself.
Updated to the latest firmware, rom and kernel.
Currently using cleanslate.
Turn on the BT device, make sure no other BT devices are in the near radius which may confuse it, no wireless devices (I know hard in this day and age)
Turn on BT on your phone, hold it up clearly (not laying down) close all apps, and open the Bluetooth menu.
Click the Bluetooth device to make sure it's ready to pair. Then scan on the phone.
Should start picking it up.
Repeating this and turning the BT device on and off periodically, allowing for several attempts at a time before switching off..
Even really it'll work, perhaps a different rom or kernel combination may help..
I have had this problem, once connected it'll always work and work well. It's odd
Same issue somewhat..I really want to keep this device...i dooooont want to go back to the s7. But on the S7, i could have my Gear S2, Sync and LG Tone all paired at the same time...If i got a call they would all ring and i could answer on whatever device...now if i have the LG on, sync wont find the device. or the phone wont allow for sync to use the Phone, because the S2 is using that feature...what gives? just me?

Do you have another device to try it with? i have had a similar problem, but its just my terrible bluetooth rockford deck causing me grief, and an ebay pill. But it did it with a lg g3 and xperia phone as well. so i chalked it to that
Seems like HTC only allows one bluetooth profile at a time. Like it will only allow one device to use the phone profile or one device use the media profile.
I have to turn off my tone for Sync to connect. Sucks.
I've had this problem since purchasing the HTC 10 about a month ago. My Bluetooth earphones work without issue, but I've been unable to connect to my car or portable speakers (pairs but never connects).
After reading this thread, I unpaired the earphones, cleared all devices, and I was finally able to connect to my portable speaker. So glad I found this topic.
Still, I'm hoping for a fix. I don't want to bother with pairing and unpairing just to connect to a different Bluetooth device.
Similar problem
Hello !
I am having a similar issue!
I have been trying to register and pair my phone with my car's Bluetooth.
Every time I try to pair with my car an error message pops up saying "couldn't pair with Hands Free System because of an incorrect PIN or passkey" except it never even prompted me to enter the passkey...
Things I have already tried:
Resetting network settings
rebooting phone
Factory reset phone
Also , I do not have any other devices paired with my phone.
Any suggestions??

HTC one M8 GPS and bluetooth problems

Hi,
i have several issues with my HTC and was wondering if you could help.
1. GPS - I've recently replaced the screen. did it myself. after putting all back together, GPS stopped working. i'm assuming something isn't connected correctly, or i'm covering one of the grounds connections on the back of the phone. what can i do ? which one of the 5 antennas is the GPS antenna ?
2. Bluetooth - about 80% of the times i'm connecting to BT, and it doesn't matter if it's to my headphones or to the car, BT is connected and media is OK, but the phone won't route via BT. when i'm entering the BT configuration - i see this : (phone audio isn't checked and i can't check the box)
any idea what the problem could be ? photo with the issue is attached.
thanks

Bluetooth can't auto connect with car audio

I'm on miui 13 and I have annoying issues, the device's bluetooth which unable to auto connect with car's head unit. The only way out is to unpair then pair them again. That being said, if bluetooth turned off, it can auto connect as long as car's engine still on. That did not happen to miui 12.5 which rapidly auto-connect. Anybody has any idea how to fix this?
BMW NBT?
I also have this problem. With iphone works properly.
I managed to get it fixed by putting the car audio in bluetooth connection mode, go to bluetooth app then toggle allow fullscreen app. In connect state it will disconnect then reconnect. In our case, it'll force connect to nearby previously connected device. That leaves another issue, which is media info won't update. So we kinda stuck with first song info or podcast title, then it won't refresh. Probably due to xiaomi policy to limit data transfer or simply unresolved bug. Luckily I have Samsung device which I use most of the time in this regard.
