Aplications the Blackstone Needs... - Touch HD Themes and Apps

The phone has so many capabilities and there are many aplications in which the HD needs.
1. Installer like program (maybe connected to xda providing downloads)
2. ORB Live (you can run it from explorer but it's so laggish)
Any other ideas...

An installer program is been developed from xda members you can download it here!

Newbie here - think this could be a great thread for people like me that are new to the world of windows mobile.
It'd be great if people could also put down a description of what the software does (and maybe a rating out of 10 or something).
Can't wait for delivery of my phone and to start playing. A weekend of browsing this site has got me overly excited!

Working together without problems?
Come on Guys....
Why are we not seeing these titles being added to the sticky topic ~ Programs/Utilites & Games ~ working on the Touch HD.
It annoys me when we have a topic purely dedicated to adding the titles you have installed on your Blackstone and I come across this.
Pass this info into the Blackstone's wiki topic...... I'll do all the work in getting it up on the wiki for you.
Beards
I personally found this thread far more useful than the Programs/Utilites & Games ~ working on the Touch HD Which is a list of all programs found to be working, not just the ones you actually use. So.. Here is a list of all the stuff I've installed so far:
Resco File Explorer
Resco Registry Editor Plugin
TomTom 7.910 (Black Theme Version with United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland 815 2024 map)
HTC HotFix for screen lag - http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=179&cat=0&dl_id=448
Gyrator 2 (Awesome for screen rotation once you've set up a few extra exclusions)
Microsoft .NET CF 3.5 (needed for various things including Gyrator 2)
CorePlayer (Good video player, works for me)
L.Sylvain Manila Calculator Skin (replacement skin for the HD calculator
FInixNOver FInix_VGA_Battery_Icons (Show battery icon with a tiny percentage. Also had to install sdkcerts.cab to make this work)
HD Tweak (Awesome tweaks for the HD)
S2U2 (Slide 2 Unlock - Latest version works perfectly and I've made a custom theme for the HD, which I might upload later)
Diamond Hologram (funky but useless 3d hologram based on the G-sensor in the phone)
Diamond Ati d3d driver (needed for the hologram app, hasn't caused me any problems yet but wise take a full backup first)
Sprite Backup (great for backing up data and applications)
Sprite Terminator (track phone if stolen/lost via GPS/SMS)
PocketPuTTY (free, open source SSH client)
Efficasoft GPRS Traffic Monitor (allows you to monitor GPRS Internet data usage both graphically and numerically)
tnyynt SD TuneUP.cab (Downloaded from this forum to make your SD card access faster)
As of this post I'm running the latest available versions of everything unless otherwise stated.

AM I missing something here?
If a software title works and the poster has proven this by installing and using the title, one would then assume said poster actually uses said title.
This logic not only applies here but in the Wiki Title list as well.
I'm seeing a lot of titles in this topic which are not being filtered to the wiki.

It is interesting to see what selection (the operative word being _selection_) of software people have chosen to install on their devices. I've installed and uninstalled software not because it didn't work but because there are multiple programs which perform similar tasks and after trial and error I found the best one for me. For example, multiple Device locking programs.
In my opinion just because said poster has tried some software (and it works) does not mean they are using the software.
I just want to see what software people have chosen to install and use on their HD out of the big list of stuff which works. Which was the point of this thread, was it not?
I updated the Wiki to include:
Sprite Backup | V6.5.4 | Works perfectly
Sprite Terminator | V1.2.0 | Works perfectly
PocketPuTTY | Dev 2007-02-28 | Runs really well and in fullscreen.
Sorry I'm new to this and I thought these were already on the Wiki :s I hope I updated it correctly.

Many thanks for taking the time and effort to explain your actions. I appreciate any follow-up and info such as this is always appreciated.
My thanks also to you in adding said software titles.
It is however better when the titles come from the wiki's parent topic as that topic is often the first stage back from the wiki to the forum whereby members check.
Having material added which comes from outside the wiki's parent topic can sometimes confuse members who search back trying to find any additional information that was placed in the forum.
.... but again my thanks to you in adding said material.
I'm a big fan of the wiki and especially of this topic and have added a number of titles allready, but I wonder whether it might be an idea to add (an instruction for adding) a short description to each title instead of just saying whether or not it works (as is often the case now)?
Fring
So I found a prog. called Fring... which looks really great on the Touch HD an works perfect. It also has the advantage that it regroupes a lot of Chat Clients as MSN/ICQ/Google Talk/Twitter/Yahoo etc... it also enables Skype and other services(Facebook/gmail Notifier....). It is easy and fast to use. For example starting MSN with Fring works 10X faster then with the preinstalled MSN Client. xD
Other Installed progs:
MusicID
Gyrator 2
A.Falke Weather Database Editor
Total Commander
Comic Reader
Diamond ATI 3d Driver
Divx Player
Fring

Hotfix

Advanced Config. Tool
Macromedia Flash Player ActiveX
.NET CF 3.5
PHM Reg Editor
Pocket RAR
Diamond TF3D Config
SD Tune Up
Vicsoft ClearTemp
wmIRC
PS: I only installed Freeware on my PPC. Of course there are a lot of other great and useful apps (like Resco Explorer/Photviewer or Sprite but they are shareware xD) ... The pone was actually expensive enough .. so ^^ xD
HTC TOUCH HD ROCKS !!!!! I LOVE IT

See, here's another advantage of this thread...thanks to the short lists people display, one comes across interesting combinations, and evensingle programs which would just get lost in the humonguos master list: I was looking for something like Change Fonts v.01 !

Can I use my pocket pc to make simple programs for WM?

Hi everybody! I recently got an HTC Universal from my brother (he has a Tytn 1 and 2) and I use it more often than my pc. Im wondering if I can use it to do simple programs that I cud run on WM. I've searched the XDA forums but I'm still unsure where to start, and if its possible. I have also searched at the Windows Mobile site, but it seems that I'm required to use a pc to make a program. I travel a lot so all I have most of the time is my pocket pc.
If doing an app for WM would really require a pc, is there a way for me to at least minimize it by using my pocket pc?
I'll also appreciate any help on links and downloads for this.
Thanks!
I used to program with my Tytn.
The program was named basic4ppc
Hope it helps!

[Q] [Question]Windows mobile coding program portable?

Hi fellow members of XDA!
I'm making this post to ask all the developers of the comunity if there's a tool able to run from a pendrive where one can code for windows mobile.
Allow me to explain my request please.
I don't spend much time at home and my netbook (an Asus EEE 901 20GB) runs on EEEbuntu. I also don't spend a lot of time at the same place, and as a result I end up using several computers to work in a day (up to 5 so far).
In order to keep my work all in one place I'm became a fan of PortableApps.com and also other (not so legit sometimes) portable applications. But I would also like to make some coding for my own windows mobile device (Samsung Omnia II), bu I can't install 4 or 5 copies of Visual Studio 2008/2005 and Winmo SDK.
So this is the justification for my question.
A program that I can run from my usb pen drive and that allows me to make coding for windows mobile.
Thank you very much.
p.s. Mod once the question is answer in a mature manner please delete the thread to save space on XDA servers
Is it possible that there's not a single person able to answer my question?
VS with WM SDK is quite a hog. Making it portable app without some awesome tool (yes, they exist) is like impossible. Not like impossible, but definitely impossible. What comes to my mind is that you have to have installed ton of SDKs and registred them to GACs and what not. Also VS always keeps your profile in AppData. Yes I know, there exist apps that convert some app to portable one, but this is too big to be loaded directly from flashdrive IMHO. (VS2008+WM6 SDK+WM6.5.3 DTK)

btw...almost half of apps from your lists are free...
Can u provide me a url from where i can download them pls?
www.google.com
i have try that mate, all the sites are loaded with virus and warms.
Do u know any secure site?
yes www.xda-developers.com
almost all the free ones u can find here
Use the Marketplace? They have most of your apps nicely listed I know it's not the best source for apps, but it supplies most of the ones you are looking for.
If you can't find them in 'your' marketplace, change the region to say: US, UK or AU as they have alot more apps available.
thks a lot i was using only the market place of my region.
Your Tip was very helpfull.
Cheers
Also for the most of the paid apps there is a trial version at the developer webpage. for example Resco Explorer 2010 - http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/explorer/ there is a 7-day trial for it, If you like the trial app and you thing that is usefull for you. Buy It! . Remember this forum is warez free . So no one here can give you a link for free (paid) aps

Stuff you should install/do on your phone!

Since i know there are many newbies which are searcheng for already made list like this, and since i am in such good mood today i am gonna tell you what to install and not fu*k up your phone.
You have probabbly heard about custom ROM's but i think is smart to first learn and read about it and then install the best.If you are a newbie don't do it my advice. All i mentioned here i installed on stock ROM.
HARD RESET!Very important sh*t! If you fu*k up something and make your phone a crap pull out battery, return it and then while pressing both of those silver buttons just under screen press power button and follow instructions.
Here it goes:
1. Gps application I personally use Garmin XT, but i also recomend IGO or Tomtom they are quite good too. You can buy Garmin here
http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=3414
2. File explorer Since stock one is so crapy and not user friendly ultimate one is Resco file explorer which can be bought here
http://www.resco.net/WindowsMobile/Explorer
Free variant (and much more less finger friendly)Total commander
http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm
3. h-torch God damn me if i know why everyone (including me) likes this app, but its usefull in some situations (When you are drunk and there is no light outside, when you want to go to piss outside etc...)
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-htorch.html
4. Visual transformation Everyone likes this part the most. Here you have TF3D and many customized versions of it on forum. Yep they look cool, yep they are finger friendly, and still i hate them cause they are slow and they are intresting for 2 days. Use blackstone dialer
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442154
You can also use aditional stuff found on that link.
I was pleased with stuff here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=587176
stuff to install is Xtrakt and Experiment (Which are coll fullscreen games)and x2 keyeboard (scroll down till you see it).Do not install x2 panel manager cause its buggy and if you are a newbie you will fu*k up your phone.
There is spb mobile shell cuatomiying your desktop of phone but in my oppinion its not very special at all. TF3D is better than that stuff but you can chet it out here along with some other coll apps from spb
http://spb.com/products/mobileshell/.
Check out next post...
5. Intresting utilities Here you can find utilities such as g-watch, g-alarm... They are finger friendly and nice looking but you have almost the same stock apps which will get the job done also.
http://www.ageye.de/
6. Calculator I like this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3360588&postcount=1
cause you can do some complex mathemathical operations in it when you slide out keyeboard and it looks good.
7. Painting program Nice app when you have free time
http://www.pdacraft.com/paint.php
8. Audio recorder Again Resco knows whats the best stuff. Resco audio recorder can be bought here (and i dont know free alternatives)
http://www.resco.net/WindowsMobile/AudioRecorder
9. Maintenance software I use this one
http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilities/Enhancements/Pocket-Mechanic-Professional-10225.shtml
and this one which i think is better and is called SK tools
http://www.s-k-tools.com/
Again not free app but hey someone has to earn something, what can we do.
10. Pocket RAR
http://www.rarlab.com/rarold.htm
Contined in next post...
11. Xperia tweak Very usefull app MUST have it
http://www.cliffords.nu/
12. WiFi apps Turn your phone in router(21 days free trial)
http://global.wmwifirouter.com/trial/
13. NET framework Needed to run some of the apps i mentioned up there http://rapidshare.com/files/77805623/NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab
14. Java games I found this torrent with free games that you can install on Xperia x1 (Fullscreen!)
http://btjunkie.org/torrent/Xperia-Games/393176b0cbdff362b1a1406298a6a99a84a80a221568
15. Boot windows 3 Now this is useless but cool and i am mentioning it here. Thread about it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=490180
Continued in next post...
16. Ram cleaning Nice an small app here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=514333
17. THE BEST GAMEIn my oppinion this is the best game right here. You can play pool right on your Xperia x1.
http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/Games/Sports/Pool-Rebel-Pocket-PC-35497.shtml
18. Pocket UNO WARNING Extremely addictive game!
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-pocket-uno.html
19. Boot Linux and Android without installing any ROM's
Linux Ubuntu: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=631437
Android: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=650559
You wont be able to run Angry birds on it but it runs good and is nice!
20. Media player This part will intrest most of you. First to mention shi**y stuff.
Core player:Can play many stuff but you cant uninstall it and it is not finger friendly.
Nitrogen:Finger friendly but again you cant uninstall god damn thing.
Now the best player out there is S2P free, finger friendly but a bit laggy
http://s2p.ac-s2.com/
On this website you can also find cool app S2-U2 (Slide to unlock).
Please comment and post something that you think is good or want oppinion from me.
Contact me on PM if you want some illegal sh*t! NO warez in posts!
God bless our souls!
