I am using R2A NAM Rom, how to install SE Media Panel 2? - XPERIA X1 Themes and Apps

I just read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=498934...and...
I want to install the new SE Media Panel
And the new Panel Manager
I also CAN'T FIND ActiveX Deployment
And where in this forum is the R3A Rom? Can't find the it, is it for special users only?
Also, what is differences with R1A, R2A, and R3A
I installed the NAM R2A, and I tell you what...there are absolutely NO CHANGES!!! Except for the start up speed that people mention, because I installed a lot of today plugins and it loads faster than my old X1.
Sorry I Posted in the wrong forum

Look here for Active X deployment..
ftp://x1:[email protected]/XperiaX1/PANELS/ActiveX_Deployment_signed.CAB
R3A not released already.. only new Touch-it 5.0x ROM use many add-ons
of R3A

R1A was the first oficial ROM released on sept 2008, R2A is the latest officialy released ROM, dated dec 2008 and released jan-feb 2009
You cn check your current ROM version at settings -> system tab -> device information
Most users have upgraded o ROM R2A using Sony Ericsson's update utility (SEUS) or flashing their respective new ROM from xda-devs and other public sources
A leaked R3A ROM was extracted by xda-devs members and was shared last month, these R3A ROM extracts (not CABs, just extraced ROM files) can be found on the Xperia general forum, they are "public" here, not exclusive, just search and start exploring them
Some very creative and skilled xda-devs ROM cookers have managed to integrate portions of that leaked R3A ROM into their custom ROMs, and some other uusers are CABbing portions of its contents from the ROM SYS packages
There's no mistery here, just curiosity and the will to make the most out of our devices
If you are interested on what we do and how we do it, or even better, DIY and maybe share, may I suggest you to read the Kovsky WIKI and this thread to learn more:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=477801
Think of xda-devs as a free encyclopedia, an open window (or "open windows" )

How to get "pure" WM6 ROM ?

Hi,
is there any way to get pure WM6 ROM, with no addons, no extroms - only WM6 OS and nothing else ?
And is it possible to extract (or get somewhere) separate .cab files for applications that come with various cooked ROMs ? (HTC touch app, Comm manager, ...)
thx a lot,
m.
When You upgrade to any WM6, the update procedure writes also the ext.rom, and later on the addons will be installed from the exrom. To avoid that, make a hardreset, and when the screen appears, that the addons would be installed within .. seconds, make a soft reset. With ExtRom_utility, You can make this rom visible, and You can backup the files located in the exrom to your PC.
I flashed a WM 6.5 rom to my MDA Compact III, but I want to go back to the original HTC WM 6.1 ROM that was on it.
I downloaded that, but I don't want all the stuff, just the OS.
Im going to flash it, but when do I exacly need to do the resets?
Or can I just delete the ExtROM, or whats in it?
=======================================================================
I flashed it and I saw wat you meaned.

You can use HTCRIE to edit RUU_signed.nbh from WM6 ROM , then you can add or reduce the applications that you deem necessary Good Luck
Wow guys, this topic is like, 4 years old! I really appreciate the fact that you use the search function, but still, if a thread is older than a YEAR and there hasn;t been a post in it, create a new thread.
But if the thread has nothing to do with ROM development, as in this case, post the question in General.
I'm closing this.

If you already have installed the one from the ROM package before July 9, 2008, fix it by using the one attached below (HTCManila-AddOn-DAN.CAB)

Why?
It lets you use the stock ROM with the option of having or not having the TouchFlo 3D Manilla.
Nobody cooked one based on this particular release.
You want to try it then donwload it. If you don't want it then, let it be mine only.
Don't ask for other modifications because I don't really have much spare time and I really like to rest a lot.
One more thing ... If I ever have much spare time, I'll update it.
Anyway, enjoy.
"IF YOU LOVE THE STOCK ONE THEN YOU'LL LOVE THIS ONE"
Cyphol, Gua Musang.
Again!
During customization process, let it finish and reset by itself. Don't worry if it's appear to be like stuck for few minutes. Well, It's not a bug or hang. It'll take much longer to install the Manilla package.
Attention! Remember to hardSPL your device with the developer edition first before ever trying to flash this ROM. Search for it in this forum.

What can you say about a guy spending his time making a ROM for a language he doesn't even understand? Respect!
Thank you cyphol. And as sbc said. Respect to you and your work
Just flashed my Diamond with this new ROM, and something seems wrong.
Only 4 city's are available for Denmark, but in the original a lot more city's was available.
Also the weather-update seems to be not working (browsing/networking is working).
Flashing back to .3 DAN

It's not ROM fault. I've accidentally uploaded the wrong version of TouchFlo 3D Manilla. It's for Asia Region. The only file needed to be replaced to fix the problem is 2330fc3c_manila inside the Windows directory. The Manilla needs to be disabled first in the Indstillenger > I dag > Elementar >TouchFlo 3D before replacing the file.
Error in updating the weather is normally caused by an error with your service provider internet/GPRS/3G/Edge/HSDPA/WAP connection or misconfiguration. So, it's not the ROM hopefully. Because mine is just OK here.
I've included the file below and updated the first post with the correct Manilla version. Sorry for the mistake done.
New Upload!
Uploaded the ROM package with the corrected Manilla Installer for Danish ROM) on July 9, 2008!!!

This was my 8. or 9. flash, and this was the first time weather-update was not working.
Surf/mail was working, so maybe a temporarely problem with the weather-server.
No big deal - I just love flashing to something better.
Thanks for all the time you have used, just to please us danes
Please enlighten me - I don't get it ... why flashing a perfectly working device with something else ?
Or in other words - what makes this ROM better than the stock ?

It's what we called options, alternatives or preferences.
You have the options, alternatives or preferences to choose from.
There's not muchbut there's some differences of course. You have to read post #1.
Think of these. Why are there so many computer presentation programs created? You have Impress, PowerPoint etc. Why are there so many OSes developed.? You have Mac OSX, Windows XP, Vista, OS/2, UNIX etc. From those programs and OSes you have the tweaked ones like Lite editions, linux distros etc. Why?
...And one last question. Why are we or you here in the first place?
Hi again,
don't get me wrong; I have been here for quite a while and have had great pleasure of the forum with tons of different ROMs for my Wizard, TyTN, Herald, TyTN II and now the Diamond ... the first 4 devices were slow per default and the custom ROMs created were improving lots of things; lastly my TyTN II where I installed a WM6.1 ROM - great stuff - great forum ... BUT : The changes in the ROM you are offering are almost none; no great improvement in speed - no new WM etc ... So why flash from the original ROM to this one ?
Anyway - you answered - thanks - not for me ;-) - however good work, and nice of you to take the time to make a danish ROM. Doesn't happen often.

Hermes_MRH_9.0.1_Valerian ROM - what's new?

Does anybody know what this ROM is different compared to version 9.0? It says in a description on the 4shared site
"This file is ROM upgrade for HTC Hermes device - it contains newest WM 6.1 base and is optimalized for best apearance. This release contains modification for lower volume, which was for someone problem in last version."
Well, nicer appearance - it's cool - we all for it. But, what "lower volume" is he referring to? Ringtones or speaker or something else?
You can find a link to 4shared folder in original Valerian 9.0 ROM thread on 1-st page of the topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=388523&highlight=Valerian
Its without SetAcousticParameter...
mrh 9.0.1
I still cant download this version nor could I download the other one. It always locks up during the configuration right when it is installing opera mini.... I would love to try though since MRH 8.4 is one of the best roms I have used for sure!

You propably use Manila v2.0, which means that themes for Manila v2.1 and v3, are not compatible with your device.
BUT!
First off, you should take a look at giving your phone a new ROM.
The kitchen cooks for TouchHD here on xda, are FABOLOUS! Right now, your Touch HD is slow as hell. Try and swipe the menus. Notice the lags. Enter the application pane. Swipe up and down. See?
The kitchen cooked ROMs in here, replaces the one you have - and gives you up to 20x faster performance (no kidding, and no exhaggeration).
I myself, use Laurentius26 v3.55 (www.laurentius26.net -- you have to become member of his website to download the rom, but it's all free, so don't worry).
Most people like Dutty's ROMs also - they're great too!
No matter what you choose, I promise you'll feel that your Touch HD has transformed into a speed monster. Especially in the menus!
Oh yeah - and as a side dish, you get the newest version of Manila and TouchFlo3D. Personally, I think that the version in the Laurantius26-ROM that I use, is so super-duper, that I don't want to spend time looking for other themes. I have thought of designing/programming a completely new GUI myself, but I gave up, as I don't have Microsoft Visual Studio.
But you have the oppertunity if you patch with a new ROM. I highly recommend you do that first thing.

Your manila can be found by going to settings tab in TF3D and then scrolling down to 'About'
It should state something like TouchFLO 3D 2.1.38658.2. The first 2 numbers i.e. 2.1 in this case state which manila you have
There appears to be no official update from HTC for a Indian rom. You can however update to any coooked rom by using either USPL or HSPL. I'd recommend you follow this guide and read up on the wiki. Available cooked roms can be found in this forum.
EDIT
Any further queries regarding rom upgrade should be posted in this thread or thread of rom you decide to flash to.
Try and keep this thread on themes please.

Then you don't have manila 2.0 or 2.1.
No one can provide you with the information 'which rom is best' as every rom appeals to different people. Best thing you can do is read each rom thread and make your own conclusion. As a pointer, the most widely used roms generally cooked by the following guys:
Duttythroy, Miri, NRGZ28, Laurentius26 & kwbr.
All of the latest roms generally use manila 2.1 and either wm6.1 or wm6.5 (should say on title of each thread)

And after the Upgrade my Phone is Unser Warranty or NOT.
and How can i restore the Orignal ROM after the Upgrade, if i want to do that in future.
For help on flashing the ROM, read the guide in my signature.
For how to restore the stock ROM, read this thread where it says: How to reflash Stock/Shipped SPL - STEP BY STEP - FOR WARRANTY REASONS ONLY!
Also, it will be under warranty IF you restore it before you send it back for warranty purposes. If you send it back with a custom ROM/SPL on it HTC will most likely not warranty it.

WM 6.5.3 TG01 working .cab?

Hi
So, not entirely sure why MS went and released 6.5 when the prettier, more usable, 6.5.3 was just around the corner, but hay.
I've seen tell of WM 6.5.3 working on the TG01, but so far my searches have only pointed to roms for HTC devices (not surprisingly). Does anyone know of a working 6.5.3 update .cab installer that are for UK TG01's? If so would they be very kind and point me at it!
Thanks all.

You cant update the hole OS with just a cab, you would have to cook a rom with the desired Build version in your case 6.5.3, sadly there no way to cook a rom for the tg01 as of yet, so your stuck with the old UI style builds e:g 6.5

Pretty sure that's exactly what I did to go from 6.1 to 6.5 - although in that case the .cab was an installer provided by Toshiba.
I simply meant has anyone made a ROM and a simple one file system for installing it, I'm not a developer, more an enthusiastic amateur... Im likely to brick my only phone if I get much more complicated than compiled installers.

You cant update the hole OS with just a cab, you would have to cook a rom with the desired Build version in your case 6.5.3, sadly there no way to cook a rom for the tg01 as of yet, so your stuck with the old UI style builds e:g 6.5

You actually can, it's called Image Update, and it's been around since WM5 (though mostly unused). Image Update allows special .cab.pkg updater files to write to ROM, update the XIP, replace critical files, and resize partitions on the fly, among other features, all while keeping user data unharmed. Also, if you hard reset, the updates still remain. There are some developers, such as Da_G and ND4SPD among others, working on utilizing Image Update for chefs, to put out updates for their ROMs instead of making users hard reset and lose their data each ROM release. It's really quite an interesting project, you might be interested in taking a look for yourself. Link's here.
The TG01 is the first device I know of that utilizes the Image Update system for ROM upgrades, although AT&T has started putting out Windows Mobile hotfixes in .cab.pkg format for select devices, ensuring the updates are permanent yet won't harm user data. Unfortunately, the TG01 .cab.pkg files need to be signed by Toshiba, and although there are 6.5.x ROMs for the TG01 (the demo models at CES 2010 were running 6.5.x) they're probably all internal and I'd bet very well guarded.

I might not know a lot about smart phone OS's but I do know quite a bit about computing in general, enough to know that when I download and install a .cab file from Toshiba which writes to ROM and updates the OS from 6.1 to 6.5... that. it. actually. happened.
I'm new to this I'm not hallucinating.
Thanks DaveTheTytnIIGuy for that, interesting to know that the TG01 is new in operating like this, as it's the first Smartphone I've used as my day-to-day handset (as opposed to just messing around with old ones) I didn't realise this wasn't more widespread*.
I understand that Toshiba never planned to release with 6.1 but delays to 6.5 forced them to go to market with 6.1 and their half baked 'stripe' theme bolted on. Perhaps the use of a cab.pkg installer was the bast way they could allow non-technical users to quickly and easily get their handsets working as they where intended.
After all it's not like people can feel like they would be able to ask for help on a forum or something, that would just get patronising ***** insulting their intelegence...
So now I guess I have research to do as to how cooked ROM's are usually installed, and if someone has cooked one for the TG yet.
Cheers.
Just out of curiosity:
How large was the .cab?
How much free storage space do you now have on your device? (Settings->System->Memory)
What build of WM 6.5 are you currently running? (Settings->System->About)
Also, if the file you downloaded was a .cab (not a .cab.pkg) then it wouldn't have used the Image Update system built into Windows Mobile... there are other (much worse) methods of updating a ROM via a cab file, hence why I am asking the above questions.

Sorry I should point out i'm using the term .cab as short hand for any kind of cabinet file based installers. Actually I had forgotten an interesting point about Toshiba's file.
After putting in your IMEI number and confirming your carrier etc at Toshiba's website, you can download a .exe file (basically a self extracting archive) which contains a .tsw file.
I had actually forgotten it was this type of file, is this a Toshiba-unique format? Because strangely, when you run it the standard windows .cab installer screen appears and windows refers to the file as a .cab.pkg file (TG01WP_5005000167.tsw is the file, windows says it's installing/downloading TG01WP_5005000167.cab.pkg if I remember rightly)
A colleague with their own TG01 got a different file name when they downloaded their update a few months later... but they seem to be no differences
I currently have build 21840.5.0.60. The installer is 247mb in size. I have 205.13mb program memory, 262.53mb storage, available on the handset.
