How to downgrade 6.5 to official HTC Diamond ROM??? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

Hi all,
I want to downgrade to 6.1 again after having 6.5 for about 2 days.
I'm experiencing audio issues, which I had before, I sent it to the service-center and it worked like a charm again.
So all I wan't to know is if it's possible to just download the official ROM from HTC.com and use theire RUU to downgrade. I'm a nooooob but I managed to install 6.5 pretty easily. But I don't know what hardSPL does etc. So i'm not totally sure if it's possible. Can anyone help with this. Having abolutely no audio is pretty anoying. Also searched the forum but found nothing usefull, allmost everybody comes to the conclusion that it's a hardware issue. Which is strange because why do I experience this after installing 6.5 and when I used 6.1 it worked.
Thanks in advance
Daan

Load from htc officel website new htc rom and flash of your diamond
when not funktion you cann extraxt the exe.file withe winrar and rename the nb file to diamimg.nbh and take this to root of your diamond hd and make soft reset and audio(-)and reback after push to on/off buttong
syr for my english im türkish and speck germen its inuf

Ok, let me try. I guess someone will correct me if I'm wrong with what I say
First HardSPL won't let you flash original rom directly. It will block SPL flashing, to avoid relocking or messing up the phone. So, regarding your problem, I would first try to flash a 6.1 cooked rom to make sure that the problem is hardware, not software.
If it's hardware, here is what I did when I had to return my phone:
- First, "cook" an official rom: you have to extract nbh, take only os.nb, rebuild the nbh, flash it.
- Eventually, flash the official radio if you tried alternative radio, same goes for logo.
- After that, your mobile should be almost like official, the only remaining "suspect" is the HardSPL. You have to flash back one of the stock SPL provided here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2324829&postcount=39. It has to be done at the end, when everything else is back to stock.
Don't have much time right now to give more details, let me know if you need more...

Thanks a lot man i'm at work right know but i'll try it out as soon as i get home
thanks again
Daan

Just got home from work.
Like you said, I need to know if the problem is HW or SW since i've experienced this problem before, maybe it overheated or something I don't know. Anyhoo I flashed radio 1.11.25.01 and it seems to work fine now. But the funny thing is that when I flashed it with 6.5 there were no problems at all but after about 15 hours or so when I tried to put on some music... Silence!!! F***. So I hope this won't just repeat itself endlessly.
The reason why I tried flashing the radio first is that I kinda like 6.5. But well, if it's going to happen again i'll use your method.
Thanks for the reply, I'll keep you posted if anything weird happens

Strange. Yes, it could be overheating Or, maybe a radio crash ? If it happens again, you should try to remove the battery, wait a few seconds and put it back again.
Crossing fingers for you

The sun is Shining!
Well the audio is still working, I'm draining the battery to check if it's maybe a power problem, but so far I still have sound and my battery is down to two bars in the windows mobile power meter (not in the menu bar)
So I really hope radio 1.11.25.01 fixed my problem
I hope this is my last post on this thread and if it isn't, we'll just have to dig further
Thanks very much,
Daan

Look in my signature for the config of my diamond. I have had no problems whatsoever flashing an original HTC stock ROM from the HTC website. I just use the executable downloaded from HTC.

Not to point out the obvious, but were any of those 20 the shipped ROM? I've made that mistake before and thought something wrong with the phone. I would try to flash a stock ROM and try again. Good luck friend. Here's the link to the stripped version I use from veyka. Here
which rom did you like best? i do not want to flash 20 roms to find the one for me. all i want is 6.1, touchflo and some basic apps, but it is very confusing to figure out which one to flash.
Thanks to communicate that fast, but i was using the Crc's ROM for so long and it didn't make such an error!!!
is it a must to use an official ROM???

well, it's not technically official. It's been stripped of the radio and some of the "stuff". You can flash to the link I gave you and then back to another and see if it still hangs. Doing this has helped me before. When you flash the stock ROM it basically resets the memory of the phone to like it was from the original carrier. Just flash it and right after flash your preferred ROM.
Thanks alot, i'll try and feedback...
OK, i tried it, the same problem...
Maybe its a hardware problem? Flash IC or something like that???
I had this same issue starting last week. Never had the issue before. I flashed a new rom, then a few days 3 I think later my phone started to get stuck at loading. I would re flash the same rom, and a few re starts later it would happen again. Tried a new rom with the same results. I was using a rom with Build 21109 when it started.

mmmmmm then we're 2
any solutions?????
is it a CPU problem?!!!

To explain:
To make a big storage rom, we "break" the structure of the rom, removing the extended rom/main storage pool barrier.
Over time, this leaves the file system "dirty", think of it like a 3year old windows XP install, slow, and iffy.
Flashing a OEM rom, or my stripped rom, is like reformatting your HDD, it lets WM install fresh.
When i did rom testing, I used to flash 20 roms a night sometimes, before i restored back to my stable config, I always flashed that stripped AT&T rom, I never had a random hard reset.

I am using Faria's last rom for an year. I didn't face any problem with it. I know everybody wanted to have latest build. but all the builds here are based on CRC Rom and this is the one I used once v10 something, i guess, was in interstate high way, my device got halt and nothing left inside. so in last I loaded faria's rom and its working fine.

Well, some people have never had a problem, even going from BS > BS rom, others Hard Rest the moment they flash a new rom, As i always say, I used CRC's roms as my stable, and flashing a oem rom when i wanted to keep the install for longer than 20min always worked for me!

Hard SPL not working?

So I'm having problems installing Hard SPL (Olinex Unsigned). The phone is connected w/ Active-sync to my computer, and all of those required "steps" to check before you begin flashing were there. It takes just a few seconds for the HardSPL to install, and it says "congratulations...", so I assumed it went well. However, when it boots up, it says NOTHING about Olinex. Instead, when I'm on the boot screen, it has red letters, the lower ones stating my normal ROM build. It looks like:
R 1.00.25.5
G 1.52.29.25.12H
D 1.93 ...
I assume this is the bootloader? I held the lower volume button and hit the soft reset button to get to the bootloader, and that was the same screen it went to. However, then the ROM boots up on the phone, and it's the same intro screen as my initial ROM was. When I proceed with trying to install the HardSPL again, it tells me my current ROM is 1.93.401.2.. not Olinex.' I also tried the SSPLmanual file. No good..
Also, I realized that when I ask for it to update, Mobile Device Center loses connection w/ my phone. Maybe I am just having a problem holding a connection between the two? Activesync is turned on on my phone, and Mobile Device Center says that my phone is connected before the flash.
Has anyone had this problem before, or know how I can fix it? Thanks everyone. I've been looking around everywhere.

I'm under the impression that you are not entering your bootloader screen. Please try this again (soft reset and ASAP, press the vol down button). Keep holding it until you see Red, Green, etc.(rainbow like coloured screen) .... please report back what it says on that screen before we move on.
wow.. I suppose that did the trick. AND it DOES say that it has Olinex on it, so I guess that installed w/o a problem! Thank, I really appreciate the help. Unfortunately, I've heard many different ways to get there (mainly hold vol-down THEN press soft-reset).
One last question though.. Now that I spent a good 30 minutes installing the list of those tweaks, would I really see much of an improvement jumping to a cooked ROM? I was looking at getting AZTOR or Nataly's lite (I'm not asking which one..), but I am not sure how much of an improvement I'm looking at. I'm currently running the stock ROM as 1.93 (I guess I'm running Olinex atm). Now that I've applied all of those tweaks from that one page, is it worth it to jump to a cooked ROM?
Thanks again! That makes my day seem MUCH more successful now.

haha, so you recommend I go ahead and push my luck w/ a 2.03 cooked ROM? Will I really have to worry about all of those tweaks, or will they already be optimized in the cooked roms? Again, I'm looking at 2 that are based off of performance, so I can expect they'll already be well-tweaked, but I'm new w/ all of this.

make sure you have read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211

Hi have a look here to flash from the internal storage.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3287426&postcount=10
Lately I keep like 4 cooked roms in folder on my internal storage and when I feel the need to try a new rom I just copy it to root, change name and install OS from bootloader (volDown, backButton, resetButton).
That is my identical process. Sometimes they never make it to the flashing stage but always a couple on standby...lol

i just hang on Welcom screen

i Download And update 6.5 rom directly pressing resset button and holding volume down + back key. now what happend after update success my devise hang on O2 Welcom screen
can i get it back to work plz reply me quick
I am having problems as well with it, where in the internal memory did you put the DIAMIMG.NBH file because I just put it in the first place I seen in it.holding those buttons does nothing for me.
1. HardSPL is in?
2. If you had and ROM before that has less size then try to flash your new ROM using MTTY

Hello, I have same problem, had HSPL 1.4, tried all versions from 1.23 to 1.93 as well as flashed many radio'sand roms from stock esn and wwe ones to Udk's/aztor/cloudyfa/tom codon.
Created a 0 KB "welcome.not" file on root to bypass the welcome screen and is fine but as touchscreen is not responding, I cannot do anything else with devise.
I mostly flash from device.
Any Idea anyone
Thanks in advance

Tilt2 tethering help

HI im having some very big problems with my tilt2. I can teather it fine but for some reason after a day or two i get the remote party has ended the connection, and no matter what i do to it, weather it be uninstall the script and speed patch and reinstall it, it wont help. so i have to format the phone and load it all over again and it works fine for about 2 days tops. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I seem to be formatting this phone every 2 days just to get it to teather.
i had the same thing happen to my kaiser with the stock att rom what i did was flash the rom and radio. after that problem was gone never happened again. you can also try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538874
i don't know if this is of any help to you. After you get the error message can you still connect with active sync?
nope
after the errormessage i cant connect on the internet at all, i have to formatt the phone and reload everything to get it to work again
Rom and radio
What rom and radio do you reccomend for the tilt2 thats stable
i remember getting that error on my blackjack, it was mostly because i let it idle and data disconnects when not in use. its not like its a stable connection. if you wanted that you buy the crappy little usb card.

if you're new to flashing i suggest you go here first http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550540 it helped me out alot
Possible solution
The above mentioned "idle" problem is more than likely your culprit. I had a similar problem as well with the stock ROM. I suggest using NRG's Leo ROM to fix this problem. There are other solutions, but they are pretty tech savvy ones. Plus, if you haven't flashed your ROM yet, dude, you don't know what you're missing. The whole reason we're here is to push our phone's to the limit as far as functionality is concerned. Stock ROM's don't even cut it. Give a new one a whirl, I promise you won't be disappointed, plus, your reformatting issue will be gone as well, just a heads up from someone who's been around, you know?

For the Tilt2 you'll want to use the enablerapinew.cab file in the Hard SPL thread.

[Q] No call volume on Kaiser?

Ok, I don't know why but with a Haret install with the same zImage and build Fat Free Froyo as the NAND install, there is no call volume or media volume at all.
I mean they're there, but don't work. Sometimes hear someone on the other end in Android, but they never hear me.
What I have used is on the main page with the devil sign (my contribution). I can't see why it would be any different.
I had a NAND install of the same kernel and build before, but NAND started to corrupt too much so went to a Haret SD install. I never had any problems apart from lack of ipv6 support, but sod it. I reflashed the phone with the WM 6.1 ROM. I can't remember the filename (or find where I grabbed it from), but the ROM details are:
R 1.27.12.11
G 22.45.88.07H
D 1.56.00.00
Note: I did have the latest HardSPL as well. Could the radio have been version-lowered to fook up Android?
Any help appreciated!!!
Your RADIO version is wrong for Android.
Try 1.65.xx.xx or 1.71.09.01
Hmm....it was 1.65....is it possible that while reflashing WM that it downgraded the radio ROM (and probably other things)? I checked in the bootloader and I still have HardSPL 3.34
KAIS130
SPL-3.34.hard
CPLD-8
shows up in the tri-colour screen.
So if that's the case, it's just a simple radio rom reflash??
