I ordered my G1 today...so far I've been relatively impressed (though i hate the graphics for the UI...too google like - duh!) I saw a bunch of hands on videos...looks impressive. I'm mad I have to wait until the 22nd of October though.
Also wish they went with a more...sexy Hardware design.
ordering today...rock that until the touch hd comes around on tmobile 3g or winmo 7 comes around in 2023.

2nd, the flow of the software and the usability of it seem great. Just too bad the whole thing looks looks like it was put together by a bunch of people who wouldn't know what design was if a design school fell down and hit them in the head.

You got the right device, you will be glade you the mobile that you got, top of the line!

I like wififofum as a network scanner (just introduced to it recently). you can analyze and even map with a triangulation the source of a wifi signal. how's that for useful. dash is a tiny unassuming ppc, but it rules
I put together a ROM from scratch for it... lol
I discovered that in vibrate mode that the dash feels kinda funny in my pocket when someone calls!
I use mine as a portable heater, OC it to 400Mhz and it keeps me warm on theses cold dayz.
Currently my dash does multiple things, its a game machine, a paperweight and a dial up machine all in one!!!

YESSS! such an oprah moment, I feel the same. Just jiving about the O, but this little work of micron love strums the strings in me. And btw, if any of you know how to use wififofum well (not like a 4yrold), help me. (here's the prize: go to lastfm and type in thiaz itch -I checked the spelling- and enjoy the free downloads. I been using my dash for everything from gaming to doing excel spreadsheets etc... so in the long run it is the most useful thing I know... its like my second PC

i liked my HTC S620 on wm5 but i started to really love it since i've installed offecial wm6 and more after installing wm6.1 by the great kavana , but i really hate its gay battery life .
i recently started to use it to prove that he can't be relied on when it comes to hard work , unless you walk with another "2" backup batteries

I use mine all the time when my G1 pisses me off to the point where I just need reliability.
I guess my answer would be "I use it as a phone" (which in today's society is actually rare )

You use the dash as a phone, whats wrong with you man? lol i have to admit when i pick up my dash i sigh a little bit. The best phone ive ever had including the g1. Gaming on dash is awesome, but its also a really reliable phone. Even if i had an iphone, g1 and diamond i wouldnt part with it!

I would, but she want's a g1, I'm telling her to wait a little to see what tmobile picks up from the HTC 2009 lineup.
well, i have a N73 right now, and i really want to get a more user-friendly phone. i like Windows mobile, and im a T-Mobile Customer. im thinking about getting the black dash, since im not really interested in the wi-fi part, but just an online browser out-side home. i have an itouch, and i just got it recently, so i dont want to throw it out or anything. im also into hacking/messing with my phones or electronics, so again, ive found some cool things on the dash that are cool. The g1 isnt appealing to me cause im not a fan of touchscreeens w/o stylus, or a slideout keyboard.
the only reason id want the g1's 3g would be to browse things like facebook, and it doesnt have a decent app for it, so im not really interested, much do i care about it.
what do u guys think? should i just go with a g1 rather than be stuck with a 3 year old phone for 2 more years? thanks!

Or just wait till March when the Dash 2 is set for release... opps did I just spoil the surprise
It all depends really, it seems like you dislike alot about the g1. The g1 is set for a big time update and in my opinion is better off without a stylus. 3g browsing is unreal, superfast!!! I have both and love both but g1 is my baby now. Plus the new update will come with onscreen keyboard, video recorder, and tons of new goodies. It is new however and will take time to catch up to wm so if you decide to get it you have to be patient. Flash for g1 is also being developed by adobe. My opinion is the g1, dont lynch me guys i do love my dash lol.
IF you want to use data away from wifi, you definitely want something with 3g. There's no comparison between 3g and edge service.

No, dash 2 is for real, last week htc new phones for this year were leaked and it was on the list which also included pics of all the new phones coming this year. I dont have link now, but search for htc 2009 lineup.

I think if you really want a behold, get one when you can afford to buy it, and keep the dash, you won't regret it. I got a htc Tilt now and wouldn't think of getting rid of my dash, ever since I bought it , it has had a case, screen protector, it's been over a year, never seen the floor, and it still looks brand new. I still think that the dash is a bada$$ phone.

You are right.I do love my Dash.It`s badass looking thanks to Ooka and everyone here who helped me.I just thought a Behold would be an upgrade,a step up.......but, i`m keeping my Dash.

the only downfall of the dash is the camera (wish you could upgrade it somehow LOL), but i know its an old phone.
i love the dash's simplicity yet being able to do everything.

I just "upgraded" from the regular dash to the "Black" dash (I really just purchased a black dash from ebay and swapped the case with my dash so I wouldn't have to reinstall and setup everything all over again).
I have to say, the "black" dash just looks so much more hi-tech then my original "steel" faceplate one

that is so FAIL... the chrome faceplate is 100x better. and really... i think it'd be easier to reflash and install than swap cases. I'm guessing you don't save everything on a sim card and backup your registry. you should try it... really...
just get a mytouch 3g with the promo code. 99 bucks that means you got 51 for a nice case and a large pizza for dinner

Im waiting for the release of the motorola cliq next month. Its android, nice keyboard with no chin, and the touchscreen supports multiple touch (unlike g1).

Multi-touch is enabled by the OS, not the hardware. The new version of Android that will be on the Cliq will also be available for the G1 and MyTouch. Word is that multi-touch is already built into Cupcake it is just turned off by default.

Not true, some screens support it better than others.
The g1 has an older screen that althought it does work, it doesnt work say as good as the my touch.
But the mytouch doesnt have a keybaord.

Multi touch works just as good on my g1 as it does mytouch. the cliq is going to be running donut most likely instead of cupcake but cyanogen's mod has close to a third of the donut's tree already working and it won't be long till we see a prerelease of donut on the g1 and mytouch like we've seen 6.5 here on the excalibur forum. And the mytouch is fail from a lack of keyboard. The only decent way to type is to turn if sideways and the keyboard still doesn't stand up the samsungs memoir and beholds. I swear if those phones had android id call the g1 a fluke in a heartbeat
i finally got a mytouch 3g, i love it
