Can't load Radio ROM on PDA2K

Hi,
I have a problem with my PDA. I don't have GSM and worst I can't load the Radio ROM on it. Everytime I do it it always stops in 23% with error 114 : Radio ROM Error.
I have 1.42 version and I've tried versions 1.13, 1.15 and even the original ROM versions but withou t sucess.

The problem is the same as I'm using BAupgrade... or MAUpgrade...

Please help!!!!!!!!!!! My bootloader is version 2.01. When I try to flash the radio nbf, it stops a 0%. When I reboot the screen say "No GSM and 1.30.76 WWE.
Everything else works on the jasjar.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi there..can u let know how did u get No Gsm..accordingly the solution is there..in fact if uhv got no gsm after a radio upgrade then soln exists else u need to change the RF chip

Initially, I noticed that I was not having service when I should have. I would reboot (soft) and get service. Then suddenly one day there was no service at all. I rebooted and noticed it now said "No GSM". That is the situation I am in now.
Don't know what else to do. I have read all the threads. Wasn't sure if it was the bootloader version I have or If it is the device. As I said, everything else works perfectly on the Jasjar.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!

Sounds to me simply like a corrupted radio installation.
Things to note are...
1. What version of bootloader? If pre 1.1, then upgrade, just saves complications with a lot of installs.
2. NO USB HUB. Very important and seems people are missing this.
3. Use original cable. This appears to be especially important when flashing Radio.
4. AS version should be 4.5 final release. If using Device Centre in Vista, make sure you have the updates installed from Microsoft Update and check the thread on upgrading in Vista.
5. Don't panic!!! It really takes quite a lot to brick your unit and there are usually simple fixes. Don't get too put off by hiccups, they'll be solved by a thread 9 times out of 10
6. (As a last resort!!!) If it does come to having to claim on your insurance... please please please reflash to your original providers rom and extROM before you send it back!!!!!!!

i'm having the same problem like of cboy77; the NO GSM thing. Like you said that there is solution of this if one had a bad radio flash. that i did...
i felt like i am getting poor signals and dropping call... so i tried to upgrade my radio from 1.13.00 to 1.14.10 and while it was being upgraded... it stopped at 66% with an error and happend to get NO GSM status in the begining and IMEI Lost. since then whenever i try to upgrade my radio rom; it freezes at 0%. However the Ext Rom and Win CE rom gets flashed with no problems at all... just the RADIO ROM that is creating fuss around here... could you help somehow!

Sorry, man, I'm just throwing things out here, don't really know what the answer is. Maybe it is the RF chip needs replacing

Thanks for the suggestion. I think you may be right. It must be the hardware instead of software. Do you think I will be able to replace the RF chip without having to replace the complete board?

CRAZZZY!!! MDA Pro CRAZZZY!!!! I need help!!!

First of all i am sorry for my bad English. I live in Russia and bought T-mobile MDA Pro in Germany. I dont know what ROM was in phone (i think that Pro_AKU2.0_05-2006 from oficial site of T-mobil in Germany). Phone was sim unlocked because i input one of my sim cards and phone work. But i need Russian language and i update my phone UNI_TMUK_130114_130232_11003_WWE_BL101_Ship
As i know this ROM update BL to 1.01
ALL was best. I see Congratulations do hard reset. BEST. My phone is work and it on English. I input anoser sim card and phone writ that it is invalid or missing card. I read in internet including this forum and know that it is radio. If apdate radio on 1.09 phone will work fine with both sim cards.
I try update radio, but ERROR 144 and nothing. I try a lot of radios and ROMs and nothing - ERROR 144 (or 114 i don't remember). It means that i coldn't update radio. In log file RUU all ok but in the end write that radio status "0".
All others parts of ROMs updates is perfectly. I install a lot of nk.nbf and ms_.nbf. I read in this forum that i may update old firmware ROM and unlocked, but i try update and nothing.

I start my phone. WM 6 started and i see that radio some as was early 1.10.03. My phone work with first sim card and not worked with second.
I dont update my radio. I'am crazy or my hand's crazy, but radio not update.
I NEED HELP.

I am not feeling very well.
After more than a week of cursing and dissapointment I am about to give up, paint my XDA EXEC blue, throw it into the ocean and forget I ever bought it.
I have read almost every thread that reffers to my problem and I have tried everything I can but it seems that nothing is working for me...
I upgraded my CE ROM on my G4 device with the one from Luca and I was happy ever after.
Until one day, after I used the GPRS function on my phone, the device lost all radio information AND IMEI although I still got WiFi and BT.
What I have done for the past week cannot fit in this thread but I'll try to give you a rough list.
I have unlocked the extended ROM and made my device SuperCID
I have tried to flash the Radio ROM and I get error 114.
To manage to get the Radio updated I :
I tried with different Radio roms from the website (I think ALL of them)
I tried with different CE roms and all sorts of combinations with o2 Shipped ROMS as well
I tried to flash the same ROM 3 times
I tried to decode the Radio ROMS and re-encode it with my device info
I tried to run the wcecomm process before update
I entered the bootloader before the device boots and tried the upgrades
I took the battery out and restarted the phone 16 times (as I read in a thread somewhere)
I tried different operator CE ROMs
I tried different computers
Different USB cables
Different versions of Microsoft Active sync 4.1 and 4.5
but STILL ..... I can't update the Radio at all and my device shows No GSM at boot....

I googled and googled and googled.....NOTHING WORKS!
So, since I can't find any other solution, the only thing left for me to do is install the original CE rom from O2. And I guess, this is Xda_Exec_Upgrade_v113188.exe
But when I install the ROM and boot the device, the screen has a fuzzy colour and the device won't boot up. (I have attached a screenshot.)
Why .. WHY ... WHY WHYYYY???
Now Xda_Exec_Upgrade_v1.30.162 works on my phone (the radio still doesn't get updated) but still .. my Radio is not recognised...
Is there anything else I can do? Can I upgrade the radio from the SD card? Or use MTTY to flash the radio?
Or shall I burn the f*cking thing and enjoy the fireworks?
Please give me some advice, I am desperate.......

I tried task 28 but apparently it doesn't delete the Radio ROM. Only the CE and EXT ROMs.
Anyway, I did it but still, radio doesn't get updated.
The original O2 rom V1.13 gets updated but it's still a fuzzy screen.
Isn't there a way to use the an SD card to update the Radio ROM ?
And why doesn't 1.13 ROM work on my XDA?

It seems your processor are damaged, When you load something in NV RAM (specially OS) the processor still streessed. May be your processor was foulty. In the problem with radio upgrade, i think you did upgrade a wrong radio.nbf may be you used a radio upgrade from another model device

Try to put the UNI in Bootloader mode (if you can do this your ROM memory still works) then: erase all in NV RAM with MTTY, use task 28 55aa, and then load a original ROM....this work for me in a "error xxx" problems.

Hi AIN1, thanks for replying.. I really need all the help I can get.
The screen is fuzzy only when I load the speciffic o2 rom V1.13 so I don't think it's the processor. If I load **any** other ROM, the Uni boots OK but I only have WiFi and Bluetooth. No GSM.
I did not update the Radio ROM at any point! The phone was working on WM6 and my old Radio ROM until I used GPRS and then it got stuck.

Even with this strange screen, the device device still enters the BootLoader and I can still Flash the device to any other CE or EXT ROM I want.
I DID erase all the NV RAM with MTTY and reinstalled the original O2 shipped ROM (I **think** it's version 1.13 , at least thats the earliest I could find on the forum) but this is the ROM that gives me the fuzzy screen. No other ROM does it....

I have a feeling your mainboard is partially fried.

Partially fried? Even if all the other ROMs are working on my phone and I have BT and WiFi? From WM5 to WM6.5 no other ROM shows that screen. Hell, even the next O2 upgrade ROM works (V1.30) ok in my phone..

try flashing this original O2 radio

Oh here is another way of doing it... when you flash any other CE rom just add the radio.nbf in the package and flash it... it should flash both CE rom and radio rom.... and did you try to change the sim card to see if that's faulty or not ???

What I noticed, is that I have a different FAT2 size.
As you can see from the screenshot taken from the MTTY post, the guy's FAT2 size is 0x2C70000 and mine is 0x2900000.
Does that make a difference?

Yes, I did that already but when I include any Radio ROM in the update of the CE and EXT flash, the software fails on the Radio rom still..
No GSM comes when the device is booting WM6, I don't think whether the SIM is in or not would make a difference (?) [correct me if I'm wrong]

I think what he means is that when you flash the radio you should remove the SIM card before you do it. I've always seen this instruction written down. And the wiki also suggests to do a ROM update without a SD card in if you are using the tethered method.

Make sure you use the latest ROMUpgradeUt.exe available.
Also, if you tried the radio ROMs here and had no luck, I don't know what else you can try. Sorry.

Hello,
I always remove the SD and the SIM before the upgrades.
Unfortunately I tried all the radio roms in the FTP folder.
I think there's not anything wrong with the ROMs themselves, it's just the fact that the RUU can not delete the older Radio ROM

I happen to have a Qtek 9000 or a HTC Universal
and a few weeks ago I was trying to install a new rom for my phone... (i've done ir before and it all went well) but this rom almost kill my phone, i only can enter the bootloader...
i download all tomal's roms and other ones but when it starts to install... i installs til 60%
the screen is like full of colors, i have pictures but because i'm a new user i don't know...i can't put links here :S

i've tried this: UNI_Radio (which is in the wiki) and didn't work.... then i tried this: Uni_Simlock_by_Buzz_and_team ... and i can't complete step 5... when i run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe it never ends.... it always gets stuck at 0%

i'm borroving this thread for my similar problem, i tried to upgrade rom, and now it's stuck at boot and it seems like there are no windows in there, and RUU wont do a thing, becouse it wont detect my Uni's versions and it puts some error and goes to the recovery, but there it endlessy does nothing =( i've already tried most of rom files and always the same thing. any ideas please?
