Will TPII Support 2-Way Recording - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I'm seeing all kinds of stuff out there about full duplex capabilities on the TPII. Does this mean I can finally record all my conversations without having to go to speakerphone?
I would prefer to record all calls to businesses like Time Warner, ATT, Banks, and ESPECIALLY insurance companies....where just the threat of recalling (and playing for the insurance commission) a recorded conversation has yielded very positive results in the past. Neither my Tilt nor Fuze could do it and I'd love to upgrade with this feature in mind.

I´m sure it will
Even my Old Universal support 2 way recording perfect!

I would have assumed my Fuze would have had this feature given the fact that so many other handsets support it - but no dice. Good thing I was given the Fuze as a free replacement for my 3rd replaced Tilt so I will still qualify for upgrade when the TPII comes out.
I would just like to see if anyone can answer this conclusively - maybe I can call HTC and ask? Would they even know how to respond to such an inquiry?

Well....
Give it a try and let us all know!

Sent a support email to HTC...will post the results as soon as I receive a response.
In the meantime - if anybody knows for SURE, please let me know.

I never knew such a feature existed. Way to take the initiative js, I look forward to hearing what HTC says.

Can anyone confirm if there is support for call recording and any apps out there that will do it.
I was hoping to find a away of call recording and attaching it to a calender entry automatically.
Thanks

I'm confirming that the TP2 has 2 way call recording. I just used the notes application while in call and it records both me and the other side of the line.

Is there an application like those available on Symbian phones to automatically record conversations and after the call ask if you want to keep it?

I would suggest Resco Audio Recorder or Vito Audio Notes.

I can confirm TP2 supports 2-Way recording, but you have to make some chenges to the reg to enable it:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\AUDIOGAIN]
"AUDIO_DEBUG_FLAG"=dword:00000040
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"RingingAddressId"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev]
"VocRecPath"=dword:00000002
After this, perform a soft-reset, then you can use any In-Call recording software, like Vito Audio Notes.
This reg hack works on my Touch Pro2 Hong Kong Chinese Version.

Just wondering why you had to do the hack when whtrbt7 reported no issues recording?
Are both sides clear and have level volume? I'm guessing you don't have to use the speaker for this to work right (like I did with my TP and Tilt)?

It might depend on the ROM of your TP2. Mine came with 2 way recording and as I check the registry, it looks like the entries jzhok posted are on there already. Others may have to put the registry edits in for 2-way recording.

[REQ] Disable hardware buttons on incoming calls while keeping HTC's answering GUI

Hello,
I've been searching for a while, but there are no way to disable the Hardware Answer/Call Off buttons on incoming calls, while keeping HTC'slider (which is perfect for me) and without doing triple tap tricks or complex slides combinations...
s2u2, PocketShield, TouchLockPro, LockMeLite and ThrottleLock's developpers release great and very complete apps, but I don't use use the screen lock functions, because it never happens to me that the power button was being pushed when I put the phone on my pocket, so that would be a useless lost of time to lock/unlock the screen with an app.
All I need -and I've seen that I'm not alone- is an app which only lock the hardware keys on incoming calls w/o doing/adding any other stuffs.
It would be great that a developer could do that, and be sure that I 'd be the first to make him a donation!!!
Anybody...?
The fact is that I'm sure it can be done, because PocketShield and s2u2 do this very well (locking hardware buttons on call), but they both add an answering interface wich does not add anything to HTC's interface and does not offer the possiblity to desactivate the ring.
The soft that we're looking for would be extremley light 'cause locking keys on call does not require any ressources, so that wouldn't involve any battery drain, neither any memory consuming... in one word : a must!!
Software like that would be great. However it should have one important option included, that is auto-unlock hardware keys for the headset when connected otherwise the headset answer button will be useless. Is there anybody willing to spend some of their precious time to create this excellent app for us???
Yeah excellent remark! I think we've got our requirements document ^^

I was searching for exactly the same!
Maybe it's possible to find what changes happen in registry when you set up pocket shield to disable answering by hardware keys and then just apply does to registry without installing any program ...or maybe it just a matter of creating some script for mortscript that would block hardware keys on incoming call with exception for headset connected?
Is there anybody here more knowledgeable than me who could do that or create a better solution?
I am interestet for a solution too...
+1
interested also...

It's a good start! I have Araxis Merge which is able to do powerful file comparisons. All we need is a tool to extract the whole registry as a simple file in order to compare the one created before with the one created after a pocketshield/s2u2 installation+configuration.
Do you know if this type of soft exists?
I found this little advice in Blackstone ROM section maybe this will help you export registry files for comparison. It is a part of Ugumba post #5 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=485542
To figure out the registry settings for a certain program or option, there are two ways:
- manual search, typically fast and has a very high success rate by first visiting HKLM\Software and HKCU\Software, then looking for the vendor or software name.
- registry diff, slow but very accurate, requires PC (for now). Export HKLM+HKCU (using multiple select in Resco regedit) *before* you make the configuration change, and *after* you've made the change. Copy the two reg files to a PC and do a diff (WinMerge should do a good job). Alternatively, you can use a Windows tool like Registry Workshop or CeRegEditor to export the registries, but I think the first way is faster, and you can actually prepare the exports on the move, then do the diffs when you come home.

Good news!!!!
We are counting the minutes!!
(Edit: I was reading LockMeLite thread)
But looks like your app is for a lot more thank locking hardware buttons on an incoming call.
It show unread sms, mail, etc and locks the screen as well, and not only when you receive a call.
I think that we all are asking for is an app that ONLY lock the hardware buttons ONLY while an incoming call is in progress.

2 Side Voice Recording on Excalibur **WORKS**

A little introduction:
On the Excalibur\Dash we have always been able to use Voice recording software but never been able to hear properly "very quiet" the person on the other side when listening to the recording.
The answer is a simple reg found by nick_martin to which mskip has .cab'd up for users.
Original thread & .cab: 2 Side Voice Recording on Kaiser **WORKS**
Just instal .cab reboot phone use with any voice recorder
I have tested this on RoseRom with VITO AudioNotes 1.32, will test with Kavana but if someone beatz me to it then post result.

Call Recording, 2 way

Hello,
Looking on the internet, even on this forum, tells me that there are lots of solutions for this question. But... It seems to be all for the Kaiser. My question:
What is the best 2 way call recording software for the Rhodium, and which work?
Is there any way to record videocalls? Or is this just impossible?
3rd question, nothing to do with the one above:
I've tried to install the Xperia Panel interface on the rhodium. It works fast and responsice, but:
After installing the Media Xperience panel, and I tap on it, it stays on the media picture.
Choosing other panels needs soft reset.
After deleting of the Panel Interface, Manila 3D is *** up. Only Hard Reset works...
Is there any project to make it compatible without damaging TF 3D? So you can use the panels (Media XP for me) when needed, and close it again to use Manila again (or better, use them both).
Thanks for any response
Nobody? Or does the Kaiser software work?

that does not work my tp2. the availability of 2way recording is probably rom dependent. (i got a german t-mobile mda vario V)
Solution for you.
To enable 2 way recording just change:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev]
"VocRecPath"=dword:00000002
and you'll be able to record with any software.
If you want to use WM6 native recording (WAW only, on \my documents\notes, manual activation: during a call hit "record" on call menu) create:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\AudioRecording]
"Enabled"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Voice]
"EnableCallRecordMenuItem"=dword:00000001
"AllowInCallRecording"=dword:00000001
Don't forget to turn off (and on again ) the device after you modify/create the keys.
Tested both on my TP2.

Sorry, crosspost with my editing: I found that already
But thanx for the reply.
Can you answer my editted question, please?
I emphasized it because I wanted to emphasize that some keys/values are to be created others should be already there (rom dependent).
I don't know why you don't have that value..(compare your rom version with the one on my signature and let us know)
Try creating it, soft reset and see what happen
You should be lucky and everything should work.
You should not damage your phone if you create it
However keep us informed
Creating the DWORD works like a charm.... thanks for the tweak!
When it says dword:00000002, does that mean changing the "Value data" to "2"? Also, do I set the base to binary, decimal, or hexidecimal?
Thanks.

HTC In Call Recording Will Not Save to SD Card

No matter what ROM I run (usually EnergyROM), I can never get the built-in HTC In call Recording to save to the storage card.
I've set the option in both "In Call Recording" and in "Notes", yet it always saves to /My Documents/Notes. I've even gone so far as to create those directories on the storage card, hoping that would help.
In addition, each and every call is saved in the .wav format. Checking the AMR option does nothing (still saves as WAV).
Before you ask, I've done soft resets, hard resets, calls before installing any apps, etc...
If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.
I don't know the answer, but have you tried this program? It does the same but you can save your calls anywhere.

Thanks for the reply. I actually posted on that thread, subscribed, but didn't see the reply.
I'll check it out today.
My only concern is that people say the other party's voice is often quiet. I'm not sure if that's phone dependent or what...
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but this is still driving me up the wall. I cannot understand how a program with an option to not only save to the SD card, but also to save in AMR (compressed) format... it'll only save to WAV.
Basically, the options don't work. I've tried other programs, but haven't found one yet that doesn't have one side of the conversation barely audible. The HTC voice recorder works great... both sides are clear, the menu option is always there... it just won't save to the SD card. I can get maybe 10 minutes of audio saved before my phone fills up. Sometimes, I have so little memory left, that I have to reboot the phone due to "out of memory" error messages.
There has got to be a way to get ICR to save correctly. Hopefully someone here has tackled this issue.
I don't use ICR myself, but it was reported as a bug to NRG and he fixed it on the newer Energy ROMs.

Wow. Great timing. I use all his ROMs anyways. I'll give it a try. I never would've even bothered to look had you not posted a reply. THANKS!
Nevermind that. I've just tried three different post 1 July ROMs... and all still save to the freaking phone, in uncompressed WAV format. This is so freaking irritating, I just want to throw my phone across the room. I don't know if this is an HTC thing (ICR is still at version 1.0) or an NRG ROM thing (the only ROMs I use). All I know is that I need this to work, or I need an alternative that has both sides of the conversation clearly represented.
Am I the only one who is having this problem??

All I know is that I need this to work, or I need an alternative that has both sides of the conversation clearly represented.
Am I the only one who is having this problem??

No, I am having the issue too... He did not fix it, that was a lie. I just posted this link to a program on EnergyROM thread:

Auto-Call Recorded supposedly with the option to save to "any folder".
I havent tested it yet but will test tonight and report back tomorrow.
ACR works fine for me. And it always saves to the sdcard.
I just installed ACR on my TP2 running the July 10th NRG ROM. The software basically doesn't work. It'll load up, then quit with the following error:

Error:
