is there a wm6.1 for dash???

dear guys, i know you are the best in upgrading our smartphones, do you know if there is, or soon will be an upgrade to wm6.1 for s620???
tnx
Not yet.. but I think that soon it will come to S620.
We are all waiting for this update
I actually got to play with a Windows Mobile 6.1 Dash but it still seemed to lag a fair amount. Just had a flashier home screen. Everything seemed to be the same. They added Copy and Paste as well.

Oh man that's great news!!! I am excited. At least that confirms that there is a very high chance we will have to upgrade. Hopefully it will become more stable and not have memory leaks.
Thanks Jamerican....
did you check the new PIE how is it, does it have flash???
How about threaded sms like the PPC version has??
i'm actually really curious about wm6.1 too. I know it's out already, so where are the ROMs at? BTW, does anyone have access to HTC's downloads for the S620-621? When I attempted to register my unit with the serial # at their site, it wouldn't let me since it knew it was T-Mo Dash instead.
EDIT: well a quick search on google yielded this interesting result:
http://www.brighthand.com/default.asp?newsID=13800
I guess that's why we're not seeing any wm6.1 devices anytime soon...
even so, here at xda-developers you can see upgrades to 6.1 for some devices, so i guess we´ll just have to wait a little bit, but its going yo be here i´m sure
Google is your friend. Many websites have covered the new WM6.1 features. Basically it comes out to these:
* Threaded SMS - A Chat like function for your SMS Inbox
* Zoom out in Pocket IE - Enables Page overview mode and better navigation
* One Note included in Office Mobile
* Running Programs tab in Settings > Memory replaced to a better Task Manager. (But the previous running programs tab was much simple and easier)
* A new Managed Programs menu
As you can see, no mention of flash incorporation in PIE. Personally, I won't upgrade until it is as fast as the HTC ROM I'm using now. I am, however, really excited about threaded SMS.
wm6.1 does exist for the dash.
Lets put it this way. People have HTC excalibur running wm6.1. 6.1 adds a new home screen, better IE (much better IE), copy & paste, new version of active sync, etc, etc. WM6.1 is also faster. I'm not sure when this will be avaliable to everyone... but it does exist.
Actually I tried it at a M$ event at my school. The lady said it would take at least 10 months for consumers to see it. That does not include carrier customization etc. Pissed me off.

How come the Wing users have the 6.1 and not us! When I had the Wing the 6.1 made it SOOO much better....sucks having to wait

Yup, i'll vouch for this. I have open touch v3 on my wing and love it. Sometimes i like to go out with my dash since its slimmer and wow its like night and day how slow it is. Even with the new HTC rom that was posted...
Am I missing something here? When did the Wing get a system that isnt released yet? I am confused

WM 6.1 is alive and well on the PPC platform. First batch of WM 6.1 Professional ROMs hit the scene about a week and a half ago and I may be wrong about this but I believe the wing (HTC Herald) was the first to get it from our fine chefs here on XDA-DEV. Still waiting on a 6.1 Standard version for our favorite non-touchscreen devices (HTC Excalibur etc)...
Also don't forget that fortunately/unfortunately the touchscreen devices are way more popular than the non-touchscreen devices.
Personally I believe my T-Mobile Dash running the HTC ship rom is way more stable than any other Windows Mobile device I have ever owned, and I've had quite a few as can be seen in my sig.
Thats interesting, I had no idea!
I don't want to waste time flashing my Dash with a cooked 6.0 ROM (HTC ROM) if 6.1 is only a few weeks away. Any estimate from the ROM cookers on a 6.1 release for the Dash?
Microsoft Is Coming Out With An Official 6.1 Version For The Excalibur Very Soon

HTC Home Plugin working on Dell x51v (wm6.1) with simple hack

I have tried this hack on the MAKUU wm6.1 beta6 "pure" and on the Lennysh wm6.1 beta 2.1 preview for my Dell Axim x51v.
See thread here: http://forum.lennysh.com/showthread.php?t=182
Basically you need the fake phone/sms DLL hack before installing the HTC plugin.
All files found here on XDA-Devs, but forgot where. So cred to the devs that first posted the files. Found clue for hack in the "Midlet Bible" by Menneisyys.
Also the HTC Home Plugin Customizer v1.0 Final found here works great!!
-NonPaq
Update: LennySH was kind enough to combine a version of HTC Home Plugin VGA with the two DLLs included in a cab for quick and easy installation. See Post #15 for Download.
thank you very much spent a lot of time on trying to get this work
@all
you need to put the dll files in windows folder..
Awesome! Man, I've been looking for ways to get it to work. I gave up and instead, used lrToday with my own clock skin. Now, I can truly get rid of that and try this. Thanks for posting this solution!
Just reflashed with LennySH edition (2.1) and I'm having problems customizing with Home Plugin Customizer v1.0. It goes through all the options, but saving does not change the plugin. I know this used to work (just look at the image). Let me know if you able to change the configurations.
BTW, is this the best "VGA version" of the plugin? The text is very small.
Dont know what I did other than reinstalling the Homeplug, but now the HTC Home Customizer works.
I experimented with installing PocketCM again (scrolling contacts). Previously, the application would immediately bomb out with missing component error. This time it actually ran!! Unfortunately its immediately closing down after loading the contacts, but at the PCM forums it appears to be a wm6.1 problem.
Looks like these fake DLLs may also allow other phone apps to now work on our non-phone Axim. (perhaps even other non-phone devices).
(I changed Homeplug to transparent backgroung, iphone icons, and silver streak clock. All auto downloaded with HTC Home Customizer.)
nonpaq
Mine doesn't work. I copied the dll files over to the Windows directory. Installed the cab file and all it shows on my Today Screen is a line separated where the HTC Home Plugin should be. BTW - haven't install the customizer yet.
Running makuu's pure 6.1 rom.

I originally did this on Makuu's 6.1 pure, so I dont know what is happening. Did you reboot after install? I never did not try it in RealVGA mode however.
Pst... btw, Makuu "leaked" that he will be releasing a new rom with HomePlug built in. My discovery may just be too little too late for Makuu fans.
It will not have the plugin built in, but it will support the installation natively without any tricks. I'll post the link to the rom in few minutes.
Not sure why it's not working. Maybe I'll wait for Makuu's next release. I'll stick with Moble Shell 2 for now. Thanks.
Does it works on WM6 ? (Not 6.1)
My X51v runs the Makuu WM6 FR, and I Wanted to try this homme plug for a long time.

it is a very nice looking plugin, but is it possible to change the tabs like contacts to another launcher?
If 2 or 3 tabs (on a total of 6) aren't usefull on a non-phone device, I won't have it on mine.
ok worked until I changed the theme color with mobile shell 2.. now only a seperator and free space where the plugin should be.. but I think there are better programs out there right now especially ultimate launcher
Attached is a modified cab install for the two attachments in the 1st post. Although this is the older version, I'm at work and can't post a newer version of HTC Home so I decided to go ahead and post this one for people not comfortable with copying files. Just install this cab, and soft reset.
Is there any way that the plugin grows a little bit because it is too small!

going to get S620 this week, 2 questions.

Well, i just bought a htc s620 / excalibur yesterday. (i think, i'm going to receive it within this week, maybe).
I still got two questions :
1. is there a nameable difference between the official wm6 (offered from thc, already upgraded on the one i bought) ad wm 6.1 (except, that wm6.1 now has the home-panel?) - so, is there a NEED to upgrade to wm6.1?
and:
2. how can i create themes for this one? can i simply create wm6-qvga-landscape-themes for windows mobile ppc (using theme maker x) or is there any better program out, which supports qvga smartphones? or does the theme-style (sp-qvga / ppc-qvga) even matter anyway?

To answer the first question, i would upgrade to the new 6.1, its really awesome. Also, it includes many nice features like threaded texting, etc. And regarding the second question, i never really tried creating themes because the new 6.1 is loaded with nice themes.
ppc themes as far as I know won't work with a landscape device..they either won't load or will come out distorted...a good program with a lot of custom landscape themes is Facade from SBSH...they have a trial (14 day i believe) and a pay version (not too expensive) and before I upgraded to 6.1 I use to use it a lot...it'll work with 6.1.
Yep - you will definitely want to upgrade to the WM6.1 ROM. No matter what cooked ROM you use, the basic improvements to 6.1 over 6 are numerous with things like PIE copy & paste and zoom in and out and customizable home page. I personally don't use the sliding panel home screen but many love it.

Oh yah the copy and paste feature is awesome
well, i will keep thinking of a possible upgrade to 6.1 (but, i think, i will keep the pre-installed WM6, because it is shipped in german, and i already have an english x50v with 6.1, and as it's a smartphone, i'd like to keep it my native language).
And as for themes : is the theming still divided in color-theme and bakground-image (which can be put sinlge in as well to any existing theme, as it was in SP2003SE) - i was using a voq professional for now.
if that's the way, SP-Themes work, i may "only" have to create qvga-landscape-images and that's all.
but only, if i can still edit the internal colors / colorsheme with V2R home screen editor. (i think, it's nearly the same app, as homeEdit is, which i used for theming on the voq.).
And as i also have the mentionned Dell Axim x50v (mostly always near me, as i use it as mp3-player), i have a pda, with which i go online, if there's a free spot around. So there may be no real need to go online whith this SP, so I may use it only the way it is - as a phone, for appointments/reminders and a few games.

WM 6.5 for acer n311

Does anybody know if there is WM 6.5 for acer n311?
Or is anybody going to create one?
Hi,
So far I haven't found any leads on this subject.
I guess the one who could do that might be football, but no news from him in WM6.1 forum.
I tried myself cooking a rom but I almost bricked my n311... so I stayed with WM6.1.
Too bad...
The new wm6.5 comeing WM 6.5 21884 19.01 2010

Hi, I know this thread is more dead than myself but, anyone has the build 28217? Or something near it?.
I have the only one I could find (aka 23518) but I have a problem with the bluetooth and some stuff.
If anyone could just search on their hard drive for it, like searching n311 or something, would be helpful. Thanks
I don't understand why would anyone even want wm6.5 it's just a bloated wm6.1. Wm6.1 was the best winmo they made and if you really want that more iphone like interface it can happen, thee are many 3rd party skinning programs.

TellMe on Windows Mobile 6.5

Does anyone know if:
i) TellMe has been released. I was the under the impression it would be available at the same time as WM 6.5. It's not available via the (UK) Marketplace at the moment.
ii) If it has been released does anyone have a cab? According to something I read over in the Topaz forum it won't be made available in the UK until q3 2010! that just seems ridiculous! I'd love to get my hands on it and see how it compares to WMVC.
So, can anyone shed any light on the above to questions? Search Google (and Bing) just seems to throw me up PR stuff about the Microsoft acquisiton of TellMe and the release talked up back in April.
http://pocketnow.com/
Had just found that myself! Was coming on here to post the link to Ppcgeeks:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=1263091&postcount=1
Well it installs to the blackstone, creates a link in the start menu however when I start it it just instantly goes back to the home screen. i'm running Laurentius Leo V3
It ONLY work with netcf 3.5. I had the same problem. When I installed netcf 3.5 it works fine.
Download from here.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=1263153&postcount=9
running laurentius V3.55. netcf 3.5 is already in tHE rom . the same situation of rlatarchel.
it installs to the blackstone, creates a link in the start menu however when I start it it just instantly goes back to the home screen
Me too; running Dutty's Leo R6. Icon there i nthe start menu but won't run. Have associated the pick-up key long press with it and that won't work either. Guess we may just have to keep waiting a little longer.
I bet it's not even as good as MSVC anyway!
Install TellMe on my HD with NRG WM 6.5 from 17 Octomber Build with the build in NET CF 3.5 Already in the ROM the same problem when i click on the app just the phone go to the Home Today screen...................................................
If someone find desigion will be cool
You must have microsoft voice installed for it to work
