It's the same connector but will the software support it?

Why would it not support it? its practically ussable on almost every other htc device

Just wanted to make sure it works.
Thanks.

From what I know, it is not compatible with HTC Touch HD, even though the connector is the same. There is something with the software compatibility on some of the latest HTC phones.

The touch HD has a 3.5mm headphone socket and does not support the RC E100 because the audio is not routed to the ext USB socket.

Touch HD has a 3.5mm headphone port.
That might be why it isn't compatible.

Can anyone actually confirm these work the Rhodium please.
Also in general do they work with 3rd party Media Players (Kinoma/Pocket Player) or just the built in HTC Audio manager?

I got a booklet with the TP2, called "Smart Accessories, Smart Performance"
It lists the RC E100, along with various other accessories suitable for the TP2.

I have the RC E100 and can confirm that it works with the TP2. When I first tried it there were a couple of problem with it disconnecting, but they seemed to go away.

it works
I have both the touch pro 2 and the RC E100 and are happy to confirm that it works. However:
-the phone does not support voice dialing (which I do not comprehend, WHY????)
-After answering a call, the phone will remain switched on for some time, causing the touchscreen to register a myriad of presses in your pocket , with sometimes very unexpected results....

I have a TP2 and the RC E100 and at first it works fine, but after 2 days the buttons don't react anymore and the same day the phone didnt recognise the headset anymore, other HTC phones also don't recognise the headset.
Got a new one from PDA-Shop and the same history as discribed above continues.
Options anyone??

HTC RC E100 does not work with my Rhodium
Hi there!
I just got a new Rhodium from my employer and tried the RC E100 I bought for my Topaz.
The only thing that works is that it "transports" the sound from the USB port to the earphones.
No button what so ever works, nothing at all happends when i press a button.
Just a friendly reminder for those of you that plan to buy one!
PS. I run the latest Swedish stock ROM (it's a company phone )
// Ohamn

Broken?

Sorry for digging this old thread out again - but have exactly the same phenomenon. RC E100 worked fine initially, no driver required, all buttons working. Now headset is hardly recognised anymore, no buttons no more...And I bought it used from eBay! OK, wasn't too expensive, but still!

Sound Problems Please Help

Hi Folks i´ve got a problem with my HTC Blue Angel.
I´ve upgraded recently to wm6 (Helmi R0).
And i thought why dont watch movies on my device.
This all worked fine but if i am using my (original) headset the sound is cracking and the music is like a noise in the Background and sometimes i can hear the singer (just the vocal of the singer not the music).
But if i use the internal speakers of my device Everything is Fine and the sound is just like it is supposed to be, and i dont now why.
Another Problem is that i´ve never used my headset until now and i cant tell if somethings wrong with the headset or the headset "port".
Hope you can help me and sorry for my bad English my last lesseon was in another millenia ;-).
greets Sokra X
Yes
your problem is your headset.
But i recomend you to upgrade your BA even more cause your ROM from Mr Helmi is too old... i use that rom just to upgrade my first time And I cant tell you for sure if it has issues on sound... I dont think so but... you can eliminate once at the time your options if nothing happends with software... your trouble is your hardware...
I hope it answer you or help you a little, your english is fine I think better than mine jeje... good luck.
Do you know about the volume control on your headset ...?
Seems to be right that the problem is my Headset I "played" a little bit with it today and if i don´t stick it in completly the sound´s allright.
I´ll buy a new one soon and hope that the problem will be fixed.
Good sugest about upgrading the room but I like to have my pda in my native language.
Well English´s fine for reading Comics and watching TV but I am working with my pda so I prefer german as the language and as far as i know there is only a translation package for the helmi R0 version avaible.
Please Correct me if I am wrong I am more then willing to give a newer version a try.
greets and thx from Sokra X
is the default??
If your headset is the original default... it must work with your device but if is not... the pin cant attach as well on the audio plug.... this is so delicated... i cant found any converter to the plug it sucks...!
I use a pioneer earphones

Bluetooth headphones not connecting to phone?

I dont know whats been up w/ my tilt 2, but i just received a new phone today (sent the last one in for RMA because i thought it was defective) but this phone is doing the same exact thing. When in initially go to setup my phone (using the NRG ROM) the bluetooth headset connects, but only to Hands Free. But for some reason i cannot get it to connect to Stereo Audio. I've tried it with two of my Sony Headsets and it just wont work. Every time i try it just says "Connection Failed" with Stereo Audio, but Hands-Free connects just fine. I dont think its the headsets, as they connect just fine to my fuze (touch pro) and my original tilt (tytn ii). Does anyone have ANY idea what could be causing this? I really need to get this fixed by this coming Monday
i'm not sure if this is because of the widcomm vs ms bt stack issues that some people have been talking about. but here's a pic of what my phone shows when attempting to connect

Exactly the same issue I have with my Jensen and my NoName headphones, Both require manual intervention each time but the 'headset' connects fine. So have you replaced the stack with the MS one? Are you on a custom ROM?

no i haven't replaced it...i'm hoping someone will come up w/ a method allowing us to replace the widcomm w/ the ms stack. you're able to manually connect it? i can't even do that
This is very similar to the problem I outlined here. At first I thought it was related to the set of headphones that I was using, then I thought it might be related to Wm 6.5 and my AT&T Tilt 2, but now it appears that it's probably something that HTC has tweaked...?
Just recently I tried to pair my headphones with my friends T-Mobile Touch Pro2 Wm 6.1 and I got the very same connection issue as illustrated in the screen shot above. I've been without the use of my headphones for a month now. I sure hope somebody can help us solve this issue.

htc desire to tv or a projector

Well few days back saw my friend do it on his xperia x2 (which obviously has a tv out feature) but I was wondering if any of you guys can help me do the same on desire using either wifi or thru wire or something. ...
Its possible from a laptop. Desire ---->laptop--->>projector or television. ... point is any way to do it directly or may be thru some media station or anything. ....?
Any help Would be gr8. ..
Thanks
Desire (like most android phones) doesn't support tv out. You can try a cable from another device but you will only get audio not video
blog.clove.co.uk/
Samsung galaxy has it...and probably may be some other devices too
You may use androidscreencast: http://code.google.com/p/androidscreencast/
But you will have a very laggy presentation.
The application is really cool but the refresh rate is really low
If you have a digital TV that understands DLNA, or a set-top-box that will do DLNA with TV-out, then you can use TwonkyServer Mobile on your Desire to stream all sorts of media from the phone to the TV: photos, music, and even video. It may depend on the TV or Box understanding the actual video format and codec being used, but apart from that it should work.
If you don't have such equipment, then I'm afraid there isn't much else you can do.
There was a German dude who managed to activate usb-host and than usb2dvi.
Don't know if that will do the trick but sounds like a nice project.
The German dude thing sounds cool any details on tht. ..
Android screen cast uses a pc. ..was thinking of bypassing tht route

Bluetooth keyboard

Hey guys,
Is any bluetooth keyboard compatible with my galaxy s2?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Look at this -> http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-Keyboard-Samsung-I9100-Galaxy/dp/B004ZNN8IY
Video I made of Cheap bluetooth mouse, and Apple bluetooth keyboard connected to Galaxy S2 at the same time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXveu7ZHAcY
If the keyboard uses the HID profile it will be compatible (nearly all do).
hmm nice, somewhere i have a bt-keyboard flying around here, i will have to check it
Beside apple A1314 is there any newer bt keyboard that suitable to sgalaxy?
sent from my 2.3.3|dxjpe DJGTabs7

General Keys PA2563-675
I just tried a General Keys BT Keyboard PA2563-675, installed BlueKeyboard JP from the market and it's working fine
Has anyone tried a motorola bluetooth keyboard and mouse combination with the SGS2, as I think this would make a really nice comination?
I just bought a BT keyboard on eBay but even if the Android apk is provided with it, it doesn't work at all on my GSII
Did you buy the generic one you see everywhere eg. ebay.com/itm/Mini-Wireless-Bluetooth-Keyboard-PS3-Mac-PC-PDA-/270707723765?pt=PCA_Mice_Trackballs&hash=item3f07700df5
Or was it some other keyboard?

Can get it to see the keyboard and pair / connect, but not the mouse. It pairs but does not connect (litening rom)
On the CM7 rom, can get the mouse to connect, but not had chance to try the KB yet (will try this PM and try to report back later)
i have just read this post and thought I will give my keyboard a try. I have enabled Bluetooth, turned on my keyboard and run scan, keyboard appears on the list I could recognize device type by the icon. I pared the keyboard and it instantly started working, I could use ESC to go back to previous menu.
My keyboard was very cheap (5-10 Euro) and looks like this: Slim Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard

Do we need the live dock to connect accessories ?

Hi,
Everything is in the title. I saw this News on androidcentral and they say
This is a brand new smartphone dock which serves not only as a charging station, but allows you to connect USB peripherals like keyboards and mice, and control your phone using good old-fashioned button-based devices.

This means we can't connect anything unless we have this dock right ? That's stupid everything is already in the phone, bluetooth, HDMI etc... Am i right ?
USB-OTG (for Memory Sticks, Keyboard, etc.) seems to be working fine with with a standard, cheap Micro USB-OTG lead from eBay. To get it working, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1224676
My lead looks like this one:

By the way, does anyone know what app that is running on the Samsung pictured? The Q5 USB manager works fine, but this looks nicer!
I don't think it's a must for USB-OTG, but a software update is required, currently I tried using a simple adapter with USB flash, it recognized it as a USB device but I couldn't use it...
They said that there will be a software update in October ( 2.3.4 ) that will officially support USB-OTG...
For keyboard and mouse, you can currently use Bluetooth mouse and keyboard with it, I tested the mouse with Apple Magic Wireless Mouse and it worked normally the cursor appeared and worked like a charm...
I just hope the USB-OTG includes USB Mass Storage devices like USB flash, it will be very useful

How did you do that? I can't get my bluetooth mouse connected. It says in dutch gekoppeld maar niet verbonden. What is something like paired but not connected. And i don't get a cursor. I use latest firmware rooted with doomlord kernel.

interesting. that may be an option rather than waiting for the livedock, but if the bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo costs higher then its not cost efficient.
when you connect the Arc via HDMI to a monitor, is there a way to turn of the Arc display to save battery since display is outted to a screen anyway?
