Volume buttons to change music track? - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Hello,
Not sure if this is something at all possible BUT I have a mount in my car for my HD and connect my phone to the stereo. Now, if I am driving and the screen goes to 'Sleep' mode, it can be kind of cumbersome to turn the screen back on just to change a track.
I was wondering if it was at all possible to put a code in place for the buttons that WHEN the screen goes to sleep and IF Windows Media Player is playing for example, that the volume keys can change tracks up or down instead of the volume?
I know someone will say 'well just turn sleep mode off' but this is not something I want to do.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, you could use AE Button Plus to map the Volume Rocker to up/down arrows, then slide to the music tab in TF3D, play the muisc and set screen display off.
To play next/prev song, just press the rocker key once.

When I try to choose a button nothing happends, only if I turn around the "wheel" it choose "down".
I have htc p3300
Assign a button to it. If you choose 'down', then when you are playing your music, just press this 'down' to swithc off the screen. Other buttons are still functional though.

But even then when I press on/off button media player stops playing music.

[REQ] Volume buttons to change tracks

Hi, is there any ways to change the track by holding or tapping the volume buttons(instead of turning on the phone and everything)?
I also use headphones w/ controls but everytime I press the button, it either pauses or plays the music and if I double press, it redials. Is there a way to fix that too?
Thanks in advance.

This will be implemented in CyanogenMod 6 I believe. With the screen off, you can hold the volume key down and it will skip forward or backward depending on which key you are pressing.
Thanks for the reply!

Repurpose the Volume Rocker

Any way to make this do something outside of volume?
I never change mine (outside of vibrate mode which I use a widget for anyway) and figured I'd see if I could get anything useful out of it.
Does you used rocker for navigation and music volumed?
I don't know how I would use it for navigation, but I don't really ever need to change my music volume, and if I did I use audiomanager.
I'm interested in ether keeping the buttons from accidentally changing my settings, or finding a new use for it.
it would be sweet if you could use it as the shutter button in the camera app
bumping this to see if anyone has any ideas. I'm sick of accidentally hitting the vol rocker and changing my ringer volume.

How you can change the function of the hard keys with locked screen?

Hello.
Does anyone know how to enable some key (eg the camera) to pause / resume playback of audio / podcast when you have the screen locked?
Or leaving the volume keys pressed 2 seconds pass song.
I had a ipod touch and set up and I think is quite useful.
Thanks

Volume Key Long Press

is it possible to assign a long press of the volume keys to a function.
specifically, i would like to pause or stop music/podcasts while device is locked. i like to listen to podcasts while going to sleep and would like to be able to stop them playing easily.
Cheers
