This is the new one. (Not the newest one that will be multidevice, but the one I had made a while back for this device.) It fixes that memory leak bug while cooking and and simplifies the process a little.

What kitchen is this based on? If it's 6.5, when should we expect a 6.1?
Or, could we get instructions on what all needs to be moved and replaced to get it working with another kitchen? I would really like to try it on my kitchen, just because I have it just how I like it.

Ok, but I'm sticking with 6.1 for now, till there is an official/stable non time limited 6.5.
So hopefully we can get instructions on putting lzx into a 6.1 rom (my kitchen is based on josh's 20931).
I could see that as being very useful here.

It's the same kitchen, isn't it? Just change the OEM, SYS, ROM and EXT folders with your folders.

i doubt you would have a problem using this kitchen for wm6.1 as long as you have the right files for the rom.

In my signature you can find a link to my 4shared account - and in it there're some OEM packages of mine (apart from many other things).
edit:
hmmm... or not it's not in the sig!
here it goes:
http://utak3r-wmstuff.4shared.com/

just wondering if anyone has a dump for the 21501 build for use with josh's kitchen. ive been trying to do it for the past 2 days but vista isnt being nice and some of the apps with it arent working properly for me wanted to add it to tis post and use myself of course. grr i hate vista never had trouble when i had xp and now i cant downgrade either. id get a cheap second laptop just for rom cooking if i could afford it.

I now have the newer build and ive added it the the lzx kitchen ill add it to the first post once its uploaded and add everyone elses additions so no one can miss it

Put the phone into bootloader, and flash another rom. Hold the side ok key + the power key and hit reset. you should then be in the tri colored boot screen, & you will be able to flash a different rom.

I want to learn how to cook a rom

I want to learn how to cook a rom but i dont know where to start. whats the best programme to use? any tutorals? please help
Search for Kitchens.
You use kitchens to cook roms.
The wiki has lots of information to ramp your base knowledge.
I second the suggestion to Search for Kitchen, both in the forums and the wiki. It's all here.
Then the easiest place to start is with matts Pandora Kitchen.
Then as you get more comfortable , I like Core Kithen, he even includes a tutorial.
A great search tool that I use:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298893
It keeps me from asking questions that have been asked a thousand times.
Best kitchen documentation is available in Wizard forum. Download Faria's kitchen and read the instructions with it. Cooking concept is the same for both the devices, just the OS is different.
Once you have the knowledge, you can try matt's Pandora or RomDonald's
PS: Do not use wizard kitchen to cook a hermes ROM

no, it's moving files around, running applications, and clicking checkboxes. Super easy once you get rolling.
is there a good tutoral for these things or is a lot of it just trial and error. any good tips? dont want to risk bricking my device more than i have to.

Again, what kind of reading in the wiki, or the kitchen threads recommended in the above posts?
is there a kitchen that runs on vista? i was tring to downgrade the reinstall to dual boot with xp but it says theres no hard drive whe i try to install so i need one comatable with vista
Download the pandora kitchen....give that a bit of a play with.
I am interested in where can I find base OS roms. I would like to cook my own rom and for example to use build 5.2.2000 WM6. Where can I find it?

I dont think .2000 has been ported yet for hermes...if you can port it for hermes, then you are a chef (like faria or Schap's, etc)...but for us cooks, find the ROM you like (eg. Schap's 4.0 or Pandora's, etc), extract OS and start playing with it.
so far ive read up on the pandora kitchen post and the others suggested in this post. it seems like the easyest to use it the pandora kitchen but it dosnt seem to run. the build os programme stops responding. im currently downloading the latest .net but it might be because i have vista. i cant downgrade to xp due to a problem with my hard drive. should be getting a new one this week but would like not to have to dual boot to save hard drive space plus i like vista.

To ensure you have configured the kitchen correctly (ie put the components in the correct location after downloading), try downloading the Pandora Naked kitchen from it's rom thread (in my sig). It's a complete package - so extract it into a folder and try running BuildOS. If it fails - it's your PC. If it works - it's the way you assembled it.

6.1 Elf ROM for play/butchering

Not sure where to put this because it is not WM6 nor for the Hermes, but here's a link to the Elf 6.1 rom as provided by Pumpiron579.
I haven't tried to extract it yet - but it might be interesting to see what apps are included.
RapidShare Link
Mods feel free to move / delete as necessary.
Elf Rom OEM and SYS
Hi Matt,
If anyone is interested in trying whatever new apps are in this rom, I've made it a bit easier to experiment by breaking it down into the constituent OEM and SYS folders.
As the experienced know, Bepe's package tool doesn't always do a 100% job of isolating individual packages, but often you can get away with directly replacing the folders from one rom into another.
Elf Rom 6.1 OEM and SYS
Have fun!
Thanks! I wanted to poke around in it, but have too many projects burning to learn the scoop on dumping the 6.1's yet.
Say - do we have a good tool yet that I'm clueless to? I tried HyperCore, but with no luck. I'm curious how the image is constructed differently, and why / what benefit it is in these changes.
There's lots of nifty new stuff popping up and, well, dumping and discovering can be fun sometimes (better than corn in poo for a 2 year old!)
You can dump it easily with imgfs -kaiser command.

[KITCHEN]BETA: Extended Trinity Kitchen for WM6.1

New extended Kitchen for Trinity
TRINITY_DEV_v2.1_Build_19199.rar
Related:
Extended Kitchen for Hermes
Extended Kitchen for Artemis
Extended Kitchen for Herald
Thanks to misar, FreePK for helping with this new set of tools!
About the Kitchen
New Trinity base rom 3.03.xxx it might fix some driver and memory problems
OS base: VF Kaiser UK 3.08.161.0 (Build 19199)
OEM Apps removed, but you need to clean up the OEMDrivers package
I did not do any changes to the OS, because it should be a clean base Kitchen for all of you
Full XIP editing supported by the Kitchen
New tool to merge all dsm files to one big file and delete all rgu's
I think the OEM package to SYS problem should be solved... but did not try it yet
How to use it
Requires Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package
OEM and SYS can be used as known
The content of ROM\XIP will be used to create a new XIP section for the OS
You don’t have to worry about relocating modules... add/remove whatever you like and the new tools will take care of relocating modules or freeing RAM
.VM and .ROM is updated automatically
Actually this Kitchen runs in auto mode, which means you only need to run BuildNB.bat to create the ROM. You can change that by editing the bat files; made it this way, because I don’t use the options in BuildOS.exe
I consider this a perfect port of the new build to this device
Replaced all XIP SYS packages (I did not just changed coredll.dll to get the new build number)
There were also boot.rgu changes my MS, those have been added too
SYS is completely untouched
Read this for download:
All donations are very welcome!
I need to buy a new device, because this time my Trinity is gone forever and I cannot use my girlfriends Artemis without being killed (by mistake I deleted all contacts last time I used it for testing... she was not very happy about that )
When you are getting money for the ROMs you cook using my kitchen, I would really appreciate a donation.
I'm not talking about 50% of you incomes, but one small donation would be fair I think.
To download the Kitchen click at "All donations are very welcome"
!!! This was only meant for ppl never donated for these tools and expecting donations for ROM's created using my Kitchen !!!
Thanks to all those who have donated already!
Additional things
RBS_Kit.rar (RealBigStorage)
For making it clean delete "OEM\OEMDrivers\OEM_FLASHDRV.DLL"
Happy cooking!

My best wishes to all who continue development for the 4700.

Thanks for the effort
I tried the untouched pdaviet version but had a couple issues with it, but will try your modified version.
Keyboard is back to looking presentable!!! Thanks algasystems. Hey sanjay I still have the Windows Mobile Lawn boot screen though... It looks the same as the pdaviet rom I think... I'm not gonna reflash back to check but i'm pretty sure.
I guess it's a good thing you started this thread... the vulcan was probably going to loose it any day now.
I'm using the 4700 rom editor for mods, what are you using.
Thanks for saving me the work of cleaning up the rom!!!
Later..
Chemong: I wish you good luck, but don't believe you will find my variation fixes any issues such as battery problems. This is just a cleaner version of the same rom.
MannyMania: Interesting that you are still seeing the lawn. Here's the boot screen I now see. Oh well, at least the keyboard is fixed. I don't intend to do anymore to this since it now is good enough until Kozhura returns but hopefully others will take this and improve it.
I've used Vivi's kitchen in the past, but for simple changes such as these, I just use mamaich's tools directly. I credited Chamine in earlier posts for the boot splash change tips.
Hope this works for you.
Regards.
Just flashed to HX4700 PDAVIET wm6.1 and the keyboard looks familiar to me, thanx.
Ciao
Just a note:
The first time I tried the PDAViet version, I saw the rather undesireable bootsplash. I tried re-flashing the previous WM6.0, which did not un-do the bootsplash.
I found that the only way to get the original blue and white HP bootsplash is to re-flash your device with the official WM5 upgrade. If you don't have the WM5 upgrade, I bet any of the WM2003 ROM update patches will yield the same results (just visit HP's website and search for your device to visit the downloads).

(This only applies if you want to revert back to WM6.0.)
Nice job, Sanjay! I ony had PDAVIet's version installed for a few minutes before I promptly removed it. You have solved every issue I had with their version.
what did i do wrong?
First of all, greetings and thanks to everyone who made WM6 possible on hx4700!

Interesting. If people are seeing the PDAVIET splash and I'm not, your explanation may be why. When I reflashed my 4700 with the latest ROM, my previous flash may not have been undone. So thank you for the experiments.
Because of the capabilities of the 4700 (e.g. no phone), I believe this ROM can be made even leaner. I will try to repeat your steps and fix the flash the next time.
Do you think reflashing with a Kozhura WM6 ROM would accomplish the same thing? Even the thought of reverting back to the HP WM5 disaster causes me to shudder.

Thank you Vivi. I've found your kitchen to be excellent as well and a great help for ROM tuning. I also read your tips including ones to remove the RGU files, but PDAVIET already had these deleted so I did not need to remove them. I still feel though that for the 4700 capabilities, there are other files that can be removed to free up more space. I will experiment more to see what I can do with this.

Sanjay

Thanks Sanjay,
rgu files are needed in using ROM Kitchen.
If no rgu files in ROM, no way to re-packages from that ROM and use ROM Kitchen.
I want to try this ROM but I also want to add my favorite programs in this ROM also.If no rgu files, then I have to manually add and edit it.
I am working with WM6.1 ROM for ASUS P525 and fixing WiFi error with no success , so no time to build Hx4700 WM6.1 from scratch.

[ROM|WWE][UPDATED 05/23/09]Windows Mobile 6.5 Build 21234 BETA 1 - ONLINE NOW

LAST UPDATE 5/23/09orted WM6.5 Build 21234 from Da_G to the Diamond
Important Message: All the ROM images that I release are open and anyone is free to take them apart and see how they work and make them better. After all, that's what XDA is here for: members learning from other members. I'll also try to release a kitchen with each build in order to make that process easier.
A big thanks goes out to Da_G and Conflipper for their work to make WM6.5 usable on VGA devices. WM6.5 would not be as nice and stable as it is on our devices without their hard work
BETA 1 21234
-----------------------------------------------------------
Changelog for 21234
Updated to 2.07 OEM Drivers/OEMXipKernel
Updated SYS/XIP to build 21234
Added some custom software from Topaz/Rhodium/Tachi - (most taken out for testing purposes)
Custom WM6.5 ND4SPD Theme - 90% complete
Updated to the Platform Rebuilder-type kitchen from old BuildOS - no more DSM files

YOU MUST HAVE UNSIGNED HARD-SPL BEFORE FLASHING THIS! Doing so without HardSPL leaves the possibility for BRICKING your phone.
THIS IS FOR GSM TOUCH DIAMONDS ONLY! Do not try to flash this to a CDMA Diamond.
Installation
Place it in the root of the Internal Storage
Hold VOL Down + Back Button while resetting
Wait for the prompt and then press the power button to flash the rom
You can also flash via RUU. Just place the file with a custom RUU and run it.
post it...please
There have been some threads on this already but I believe there were still issues with the panels....your porting this over might be a bit of a break through.
Do have the link to this?
Yes, please post....will definitely give it a shot.
Versions of this build are posted all over xda from what I can tell, can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to...

It is very easy, extract the blackstone WM6.5 rom , then replace the rev to 640 x 480, and the xip, then cook the rom again.............. I can upload my WM6.5 for public download.
Wow!
I don't think I'm gonna use it but hey - nice one .

Compared to what?
Compared to original finger-unfriendly winmo 6.1 that hardly even can be called "interface" I say it's a big step up.
Compared to some of the better GUIs maybe not something to write home about. But I haven't tried it so I'll reserve my final opinion till then. For now, I think it looks fine, simple and finger-friendly. Looking forward to try it!
I'll be watching this thread. Been hoping to try out wm 6.5 since I saw it was leaked for another device. I read the thing about cooking your own rom but I haven't done any of my own cooking for the Diamond, only my old tytn I (And that was only a few roms)
EDIT: Uploaded. Check first post.
Just wanted to make sure that I wouldn't XDA didn't get into anymore legal trouble.
