things change fast around here. try reading new threads before post useless request to fix an old problem from march
If your going to daddy me at least leave me a toy.
Wow learn to read. The android n00b thread people are still having these issues. Maybe something has changed but I have seen it. I see two categories of haret users those who work (miracles people who usually are using nand and may have some enviromental difference over us regular sdcard-hare ppl)..
If you can fix my issue fix it, but don't tell me its fixed when nothing says that. Albeit a night of going through all the updates on the different builds may produce results no one has done that in that particular thread (2, or 3, which upon someone coming up and saying this easy has ended up giving up) both threads are a bit different. One was supposed to be look how easy it is , with a few nand resistant fools getting every thing but sound. You sir are a troll... !#@@! @!# @#[email protected][email protected]@!
Seriously if you want new people using android put out a haret build that works... Don't make us n00bs flash our customized **** so we can say oh thats broke, i need that...
sorry if my tone was incorrect. let me try again
The link you posted refers to something that is not a problem any more or was due to old hardware, ie the button physically wasnt working.
k_k successfully used haret to test his build when he was working on the gps. that was the beginning of june
are you trying to say that the link is to YOUR problem? i cannot tell from the post of only a link. it looks like reading through this thread that you got past that problem.
if you need help please list your problem with as much detail as possible so i or someone else can help you.
if you are trying to make a case for haret dev, you should post links or quote more recent attempts and problems
Thanks for the news
Cool. I'll search up on that and post to the threads that I've been going to. It's just email never comes across very personable. People who say to read the entire forum get on my nerves or to search when I have is annoying because sometimes they have read it in an area I haven't landed and it like a race run condition due to bad communication. If you see something try to link it, glad I have a user name to search off, but if you can pt a better thread I'll be happy. Either way when I find it, I'll try to boot again maybe in a week or so. I'll be very happy if it does indeed work now, we'll see.. As far as my posting relating to haret, yet you can regain control of your buttons but if you actually read all of the thread you'll see it doesn't get better than that, it then is a sound issue. Either way haret is broken, and my point is that poor user from march is still suffering now, and this time its sound. I suspected that haret became broken due to the development direction towards nand. I.e. whatif system.file is reffed somehow as (NAND0,0):/initrd.gz. I mean droid when from system.img's to partitions so something very generic could lead to both issues esspecially if a user A who can't hear in haret, can hear in a nand install using the same release? See the modules and stuff are going to be the same. I hope your not wasting my time with the k_k bit...

your first post was just as indirect. from that post i had no way of know you have been working on it. the specific link you post was probably not the best choice. with out direction from you i have no reason to go 2 links deep. not until you gave more description did i go into the xda thread where have been trying things.
it then is a sound issue.

yes there is still the sound issue. you could have gotten much better response if you had put something in the first post to indicate you specifically want the sound worked on.
sound it is.
its just more like a watch me thread for people who care about haret. i posted a bug on vogue-android.. but the drift it haret is broken. been broken. its bad right now. can we fix it? or is it fixed already. you mentioned K_K do you mean this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6852911 or do you mean kalt_kafee kernel are they same guy? where you saying dpad was fixed versus just sound. I guess I'm going to try his latest update kernel, unless you've seen a better thread. I've already got to goto bed. Maybe that's why the guy never came back on my own thread cause i sent him to a new kalt kernel hehehe..
sound working
Going through the list now. Thanks for the pointer. I'll will soon venture forward.
I got sound on an old androidinstall of unknown origin. it was freezing and unstable. I did not get sound ironically on VaniljEclair , the second install from the old android I also installed to system.img vs sdcard partition. trying warm
Aqtrans' CM-5.07 - nice and stable
warm eclair rls 1 - fast, worked great for a day then force closes all over
Incubus26Jc's SuperE beta 3 - still slow on kaiser
VaniljEclair 5.0.8 out! (not tested by me)
trying myn's warm donut then will try aqtrans'
you may have beaten the pepsi challenge.

Angry Birds not displaying correctly

Okay I managed to download Angry Birds, but after installing it on my device running Froyo 2.2 build 092810 it seems that it's not displaying properly, the sound works and if I press the menu button I can vaguely see some scrolling text mentioning copyright info, only it's off center. Could it be a 3D issue or that it's not displaying in the correct resolution?
Please help, I desperately want to play it.
You desperately want to play it eh?
Well get an iPod Touch then dude...
Sorry, but I don't think Angry Birds is really a priority considering where the project currently stands - it's come a long way, but it's still got quite a ways to go as well!

You should seriously read peoples comments a bit better and understand them before commenting yourself.
No where in my comment did I mention that I ask for developers to help troubleshoot this issue with me. It was a short question on 'why' the game is not displaying correctly when other graphically-intensive games work perfectly. May be someone else is experiencing the same thing or not, that's why people ask things....
It's a popular game and about the only decent one in the marketplace. Why should I buy an ipod touch when it's already ported to Android?
I heard that the Neopeek builds ran the beta of angry birds, whereas the xdandroid build didn't. You could try that build to see how it runs the final.
btw: the newest BLAZIN & newest kernel does run angry birds rather ok here. It's slow and some graphics are missing, but it's certainly playable for me.
Having the same problem on the Google/Huawei Ideos. Mine is not rooted so cant change the ROM... unfortunately.
I'd rather have a stable phone that's usable as a phone than be able to play Angry Birds.

No offence arrghhh, since you help out a bunch here, but we do have a stable phone that works as a phone. The phone part is fine. If your splitting hairs, like you are doing to the thread poster. His post was not at all out of line, or posted in an incorrect thread.
OP, you may have some old build files on your phone. I've read that since the new non-beta verison came out, it can work on XDA. I have the same problem you do though, and just use Neo to play Angry Birds. There is still some bugs where certain images are missing are all fuzzy, but it is playable.
Also, if you want to ask questions without fear, go to similar thread at ppcgeeks. XDA is more "high-brow" and they have a lower tolerance for the simpler questions, like wanting to play a game. I think PPC also had a thread going on this game as well. Good luck!
I can confirm that this game is working on cyanogen 6.1 bulids from neopeek, but isn't working on kenia's 1.6 bulid
Well my phone doesn't work as a phone so great. If it resets when I answer calls, that's not functional.
Perhaps it is more high-brow here in that we want to resolve real problems, not childish ones - 'this game doesn't work' - is a childish complaint.
Seems some people need a reality check...

Working completely, or with some of the graphic artifacts (white areas) mentioned by others?
I loaded it up on Reefs Reference build and it runs OK (better without sound), but it definitely has some graphical weirdness.
Ever since Angry Birds came out of Beta, it's started working the same on XDAndroid that it works on Neopeek. In both it works, but slow and with graphical glitching.
Seems likely that this is a problem with the graphic chip that is in the Touch Pro 2 because it happens on the Hero, too, which is an Android phone that has the same processor.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=810557
I have some limited use of Angry birds on the Super Froyo neopeek port ( beta from oct 8 or 10 I think) it works with some graphics issues, but its what I would expect with the current status of video/3d drivers for the device.
Oh and hey arrrghhh, shut up, your lack of respect to the members of this forum is starting to piss me off, if you have nothing useful, insightful, or really worth wasting anyone's time reading... as you so love to say "Resist the urge to click that post reply button!"

LOL I never said that. I did, however, say that people should resist the urge to post a new thread. Perhaps that's what you're mixing up...

Wow - major necro!
I solved the problem by switching to an Epic 4G. The TP2 was decommissioned over a year ago.

[Q&A]["Spamming and ETC :)"]CyanogenMod 9.0.0-GalaxyICS

Hello everybody here,
so lots of us said that we should have a "Spamming" thread for CM9 and 4.0 Android development made by Maclaw's DevTeam-thanks for them, again . So here it is:
Please guys, if you have any bugs and problems which are already mentioned in GitHub, but you don't care to "ask-first-then-shoot", then post your problem here.
Please, write here, and really, don't annoy dev's on their DEV thread. That's for them to submit upgrades, news, and stuff.
Thanks anyway, and please, let the Dev's work in the calm way it should be.
Spam and post your heartbreaks here
Thnx for the thread. I feel like I can post my non-contructive post yet not clutter the dev thread
I following/trying CM9 closely. It looks very promising can't wait for the finished ROM
I should make some time to properly test/bugreport in git.
Should be in general, not there.

have u ever thought, that 'tards constantly flaming and making EXCEPTIONALLY unnecessary threads such as this one, are in fact much worse than noobs whining about their gallery not working?
Seriously though, I've been following Maclaw's thread for weeks, and the spam is no where near annoying as some "certain efforts" to end it.
Haters gonna hate, noobs gonna noob, deal with it.
p.s i consider myself a noob as far as android goes. But i don't whine about it, and don't shout at people on forums.
p.s2 somehow I doubt that this message will make the impact I intended it to make... sad.
Oh, and another thing - how do you define "spamming" and it's relation to the original post? I'm not much of a linguist myself, but something tells me you're not either, therefore both of us should keep our mouths shut...?
Oh 2.0: did i mention that this whole thread is a spam? ( and what is it we do with spam nowadays huh? )
You made good points. I don't spam myself as I see others do. At first I thought this was a good idea. So the course of action is to kill this thread or let it die.

actually I did, see cm9 thread
I thought maclaw would make one because he hates the spammers, so I suggested this, just like the ace forum

how about fixing 3d graphics in future? Now, Asphalt 5 is laggy on my Gio.
same as inotia, cant play currently
but that will be fixed when the rom features work flawless

feiks- if you dont feel that this therad is necessary, then ignore it. there are some people who think this is a good one, although Maclaw is right, this should be in general.
And yes, spaming the DEV post is something like the whining of ~15 people that gallery is not working, camera is not working...if they'd read first, then they would know what they can get from this rom.
Though, ignore this post if it's unnecessary for you.
For the others, enjoy.
A quick point about creating new threads and where to place them.
Question.
Are you actively developing something?
Answer.
Yes.
Result.
Thread should go in the Development section

No.

Thread should go elsewhere.

Intentionally creating threads in the wrong place, just annoys other users and creates work for me. In future think about where to place your thread.
If after creating a thread you think, "I should of posted that in 'General'". PM me or report the post, I'll happily move it.
Thank you
It was my fault to place it to development.

Loving the ICS ROM by Maclaw and the gang - awesome work - it keeps getting better and better with each release.
Android is new to me so still learning - trying to get text to speech working, of course to try out a Siri like app.
I cannot seem to find where to turn on text to speech. I have tried a couple of apps and it appears that it is not on - and I cannot find where to turn it on.
Thanks in advance for any help

Finally I can say something about CM9 and ICS. I've been quietly reading the development thread from the beginning and thanking developers' posts for many months.
Anyway, I read that next release will be faster and with more working settings. I can't wait to try it out. I tried Beta 2, because it got generally good feedback before, and I thought that maybe it is good enough for daily usage. True, it is functional enough, but just a bit too laggy and glitchy for my liking. It was a good experience to test it, and all in all it didn't seem that much different from Gingerbread afterall. I miss the ability to put widgets on homescreen by simply longpressing, now you have to go to app drawer and search there - but I'm sure I will get used to it in time. I like the new setup of settings menu though.
But my message to the development team and everybody else who helps them: Good luck and thank you! I will continue "thanking" your posts in the dev topic. We are lucky to have active CyanogenMod developers on our rather not-so-good and not-so-popular phone, and good developers too - Phiexz and Maclaw as the main men, but also others. Kudos.
Im dreaming about 3.0.8 kernel (or new) on ics 4.0.3 on Gio
If i get a new sms the phone wont viberate..
I have the silent profiel turned on but still normally i would hear the viberating sound getting a new message. This is a bit anoying cose often i have to react right away.
Any one know how to turn on the viberating?
Hi,
I installed beta3.
I can't download s2e from the market. Is any version that works with cm9?
Thanks
The betta 3 is a lot better alread. Things that dont work for me atm are: Camara (I did try other cammera apss to. No succes) The foto galary app will crash (I only have like 280 fotos. Kids there fun)
Playing movies (Xvid/divx) and mp3 does not really work well.
Thats it for no.. Got to work again.
Why Spam?
Just help Dev friends. Your support would encourge them to work hard on softwares. Sorry for bad bad english
There is a discussion in CM9 development topic about bootlogos. Am I the only one who doesn't care about it? I've disabled it anyway for faster booting. Why is bootlogo so important for some? For all I care it could be a steaming dog turd, it doesn't matter

I just had to post this. It's about how to change the lockscreen apps. I have been searching for something like this ever since i got mine HOX and to night i finaly found this article.

Please don't kill me if there are already a post about it. I have been trying to find something like this for month.
Note from me:
I my self are using the Apex launcher therefor I didn't find out of the connection mentioned in the article. But however, i find it realy usefull when i can have different apps in the launcher and the lockscreen. Thought I think HTC could have made this kinda' setting in a better way
Not trying to be funny like but.. that's pretty much common sense and probably one of the reason's you could not find a thread/tutorial for it,
glad ye discovered it anyways ...

However, now i'm happy

Cause previously i had saw on sense devices but not own it myself.
Dunno the previous behavior of it.

[Q] Does Anyone know how to use V6 Supercharger on CM10.1 A7?

I tried the method like when I was in ICS, but it seems that it doesnt work that way again... I kept getting the HTML help from supercharger. and since I am not a NATIVE ENGLISH user, so, it kinda not easy to understand it all in one time reading. so please help me with that, and lemme know how to do it in a SIMPLY way and more understandable. The original thread is so confusing... so many links to click and lead me so somewhere that even more confusing. if there is anyone out there that know how to use it properly, your thank you button will definitely be thanked for 10 times in any thread you've ever been:victory. that's all I can do to offer for your help.

Well, what do you want from V6 supercharger? if its only the memory manager, you can install third party apps that may change the memory settings.
