Need language cab to read double byte sms - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

hi, i need a language cab fonts to read sms in Thai language.... most of roms i downloaded from our great chef are wwe version and is only showing square boxes on my hermes..... thank you krub!

You probably miss the font, not double-byte sms, because I also use non-latin symbols and everything is ok.
Perhaps standart Tahoma font does not have neccecary symbols. Try using a thai font from your pc. Put it into windows folder, rename tahoma.ttf and rename your font to tahoma.ttf. Softreset.
For example, Tahoma in my vista box has all non-latin symbols (bit in controversy it's size is 10Mb).

Opera WM5b2 Not displaying correct font with new Imate rom

Has anyone found a fix for this yet? With Opera's Wm5b2 all the letters are in webdings. HEHE looks cool but now we can't use it.
Mike
same problem; I tried to change opera.ini parameters (e.g. Language file), but no success.
same problem here. Spanish keyboard and English region settings. And when i changed the region setting to spanish now opera doesnt startup
There appears to be a fault with the default sytem font on the new jasjar rom.
Change it using the lite version of tweak2k2. I changed mine to one of the other fonts soft reset then changed it back again to tahoma, works a treat here
HTH
fards
oh I also copied the tahoma font to the windows/font folder and renamed it the symbolmt font. But I can't see this making much difference.
great !! it worked !
thx a lot
lol, i have re flashed with old rom just because of this problem
but i didn't like battery icon anyway
After selecting another Font, resetting and Reseleting Tahoma it worked for me but not my colleague
For Him we had to Copy another Font VJNina to Windows\Fonts and select that as the System Font. The name in TW2k2 is VJ Nina :?
Hope this helps
Regards
There is an other way to make the new Opera display fonts correct.
It looks like Opera is setup to use verdana.ttf , but we haven't got any verdana.ttf on our new JasJar rom.
So what i did, i went to my /windows/fonts directory on my laptop and copied the verdana.ttf font to /windows/fonts at my Universal.
And 'voila' Opera is displaying the fonts correct.

[SKIN] New skin for FingerKeyboard + New Greek layout

Here's a new skin for FingerKeyboard app found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=479464
Also I have a new keyboard layout for Greek language since the one I've found did not worked right for me. Also I rearranged the special greek characters to be above the corresponding ones. So I had to remove the number digits from it. I think it's not a problem since there's always the numeric "123" layout.
Just extract the files from skins.zip to "skins" folder.
The skin.txt.zip is for the new Greek layout - just extract to "skins" folder too.
Fixed skin.txt - the "ο" character was forgotten in english - corrected to Greek.
Very nice work bro....many many thanks from the Greece
great! got greeks
thanks

Reading Chinese with TP2.

Hello All.
Here is the package that I used to read traditional and simple chinese in my
Touch Pro 2.
These are the best font and size that I find works the best for my TP2 using
WM6.1.
Instructions are in the attachment.
Enjoy.

thanks for sharing,do you have one for wm 6.5????
This one will also work for WM6.5
integrate into registry????
I would like to install this font also...can you explain what you meant by integrate into registry or paste an example. Sorry for my elementary question...I am still new at this. Thanks in advance for your help.
Can anyone verify if this works? Tired of seeing little squares in MSN Messenger!
OMG! Thank you so much! I've been searching for an easy way to get Chinese font on my TP2. This works great. My Chinese and Japanese MP3's are now readable. No more square "text".
Would you happen to know a solution for Korean font?
I just noticed that my date/time is now in Chinese. Is there a way to keep that in english?
I assume the cab is making the necessary fontlink and registry changes to switch the system font.
Newbie here so please bear with me if my question seems off but I've been reading here and google for the past few hours and still couldn't figure out on the installation instruction.
Here's the installation instruction from the download folder:
1. Copy wince.nls into /windows Directory.
2. Install Chinese Cab, Do Not Restart
3. Integrate the registry file
4. Restart.
I have installed SPL and copied the #1 wince.nls file into the windows directory but am now completely lost on #2 as there's no .cab file from the download folder?
About #3, how do you integrate the registry file?
Thanks in advance.
Yeap... how to integrate the registry? Btw, i can read and type chinese in notepad or sms. but, when i view something like bible or facebook application, the fonts become "square box with a question mark" inside? Any help?

Norwegian keyboard

I have searched and searched for the Norwegian language on my X1, keyboard and dictionary on the Norwegian, because I want to use the keyboard, we have extra letters as "æ" "ø" "å".
hope someone has found a solution, or can create one as soon as possible.
This is something that is very important to me in the job context.
regards

Hi Losty,
I assume that you have a Norwegian hardware keyboard in the first place.
- If you are using an non-Norwegian WM version then you will have to do a registry change to use æ,ø,å on the hardware keyboard.
Either use Total Commander (http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm) on your phone, or run an editor from your computer via ActiveSync, like the free CERegEditor (http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl/).
Quote:
In the registry, navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD
Change the CurLan g value to match your language:
English: 409
Norwegian: 414
(Make sure you edit the value in hex)
- I don't think you can add the Norwegian dictionary to a non-Norwegian Windows Mobile version (anyone please correct me if i'm wrong) but you can still add words to the dictionary by typing them in as you go.
The original dictionary file is not known yet, and there are no editors avaliable either. I can't seem to find anyone who has successfully solved this issue.
The custom word dictionary file is \Windows\ "compimeh.0409.dat"
The custom dictionary in a Norwegian WM should be "compimeh.0414.dat"
I restored a copy of the "0414" from a Norwegian WM6.1 backup and replaced the original "0409" English one. I still get english word suggestions but at least my originally added words (from WM6.1 Norwegian) pops up now.
- Well if you want to set the WM language to Norwegian AND use a custom ROM, you are probably best off using something like itje's Touch-IT Xperience 21046.1.6.3 (Norwegian).
If not then you can set part of the OS (day naming, calendar, clock etc) to Norwegian by going to Settings->System->Regional Settings.
Cheers
A.J.

[Q] additional unicode language fonts

Hi,
I'm using a SEA edition of Wildfire and can display Thai and Vietnamese characters. I noticed in my /system/fonts directory there is a file called CNCondense.ttf which are the Thai fonts.
I installed some fonts to support Unicode 1700 fonts (Baybayin) but the webpages still rendered squares.
Does this mean that Android only looks at the Droid*.ttf family of fonts to display text and just ignore CNCondense.ttf?
Thanks.
hello my friend, can u tell me how u install fonts in system/fonts in HTC Wildfire?
Hi davita,
assuming your phone's rooted, do an "adb push" to /system/fonts while in recovery mode.

Click to collapse
I decided to simply pull DroidSansFallback.ttf, edit it with fontforge to copy the necessary unicode characters from another font, then push it back.
Its a tedious process, but it should work theoretically
