Anyone using SPB Mobile Shell 3? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I love this app, but find it annoying that the Lifestyle Home page gets completely garbled when the display is in landscape mode. Has anyone figured out how to fix this?

You put the device into landscape mode, then arrange the icons how you want them. It'll remember where they should be in portrait and landscape modes independently.

The carousel does not seem as responsive in landscape, and it's a bit flickery; I tend to stick to the configurable pages, though.

Just curious, why used sbp shell 3 where you already have the Touchpro3D UI? That is why you buy HTC TP2 to make full used of it looks, functions and capabilities :> . Unless you have a phone just come with a standard mircosoft WM GUI , like those old WM phone :>
Im sure all the experts here will be able to develop more cool stuff here later with more custom looks :>
Ops! just my opinion. :>

SPB 3 v.s. TouchFlo
Personal fafourite!
I dont like the interface of TouchFlo so much.
SPB 3, takes the fully advantage of the phones possibility's.
Like the 3d accelerator!
Plus.. its more easy to handle!
and.. its idd.. Not free!!
When you love Touch FLo.. lucky you! It will cost you nothing more!!
greetzz

Can you run SPB Mobile Shell 3 together with Touch Flo 3D. I am loving Touch Flo 3D but feel really restricted by the amount of shortcuts and customization. I would only really use Mobile Shell Lifestyle screens to arrange my games.

Be aware! I have this problems... and also a buggy solution.
In my case TF3D is not working anymore... won't boot.

can you post some screenshots for TP2 with MS3? thanks

Im going to have to be ignorant and say the what?
and how long of a wait are talking, as soon as employees can get the touch pro Im upgrading so I was just looking for a quick fix. Dont really want to wait around for another 6 months to a year for a rom update that is half broken.
Edit: did some searching and reading and sounds like that will be out in about 2 months or more (out of beta) way too long of a wait. I figured there would already be an app like this since the phone has been out for a year guess I will just have to wait and be happy when I get my pro.
SPB fullscreen keyboard does it
Otherwise, set the camera button (on bottom right side) to make the phone go landscape.

I believe he was just filling space to meet the 10 character minimum for a post.
But regardless, I'll have to keep an eye on TouchXperience - definitely an appealing project.
If you want, you could use WisBar Advance 3, a must-have for me. It enables you to select how certain apps open, so you could set SMS to open in landscape, and return to portrait on close/minimize. About $10, and well worth it.
Do you mean it senses when the device is turned? Because it cannot do this.
If you mean just do it when you have a new text message, I suggest SPB keyboard.
Yes I have the ATT Fuze never sure if it was really considered a Touch Pro, either way there is a program out on the diamond called Gyrator or Gyrator 2. I am using the Gyrator 2 and it will use the G Sensor to change landscape, its probably exactly what your looking for, cause I was looking for the same thing for a while. The only thing it won't change is the TF3D Home page which is what I wanted.
I think its alright to post links Ive seen others do it, if no my bad

Slingplayer performance on the touch HD?

This is the one of the first questions I want the answer to whenever a new windows mobile device comes out?
So has anyone tried it on the touch HD and how does it perform? What happens to the display when you try the full screen mode, how does it cope with the high resolution? Any screenshots would be particularly helpfull.
PS I know there is a update to the slingplayer planned especially for these high resolution devices but I want to know how the existing version behaves.

I have used slingplayer on HD and its very good. But , when you want to change channels u have to change the channels via , File , Menu System rather than the image on slingplayer.Looks like the remote control picture is not scaled properly as the HD is wvga device. But other than that, slingbox performance is very good.

thanks for the reply, does the full screen mode cover the full screen or not? is it possible u could post a screenshot in full screen mode.

But the only problem , I am facing right now , is the remote control image where it shows up is not scaled properly for wvga screen. It works fine on diamond, but not for HD. Hope someone can find a fix where you can find a wvga fix for VGA apps.
here's a video of slingplayer in action on the touch HD, looks pretty impressive.

Hi,
I've uploaded that video on youtube.
Slingplayer works quite good as you can see.
If you add channels (with logos) to your favorites, it's no problem to change channels. Works fine to me.

I've not seen it cover the full screen. Could you confirm again that you're getting full screen video? I have a Touch Diamond 2 and can't get it to cover and I called Sling and they said it's not possible. Is there a hack somewhere?

I get most of the screen filled in landscape mode. I only have the small 2-3mm black side bars that don't fill in. I am using the HD Pro slingbox. Don't know if that has anything to do with it. When you are no in landscape mode it is around 2.8" but otherwise it is pretty much fullscreen.
slingplayer on duttys r9 6.5
Hi It looks like the poster above has slingplayer mobile working on duttys 6.5 r9 rom? I try to install it and it says not a valid pocket pc app? any hints?
ignore that got it working...
Works fine on HD (I have the Sling Solo).
The upload rate at home is 800Mb/s.
The framerate on HD is jumpy sometimes. The picture quality is resonable. The images (including movies subtitles) are clear and readable.
In landscape mode, the image almost fills the screen, but not entierly.
I'm happy with that. Hope that a real 800x400 player version will surface up.
I have a Slingbox Pro and suffer from the fullscreen issue, I also think they should make the remote control etc. more finger friendly for windows mobile.
I have a couple of requests on the customer feedback forum

I'll put my two cents in when I get a chance. I done some invite only beta work for sling before. Not that is going to make a difference but it might help. I gotta say that the video quality is better on the touch hd than the iphone. I swear the iphone was better before the update.

Opinions please....?

Wisbar Advanced Desktop 2 or Touch FLow 3D???
Ive had my HD for a week now and barely scratched the surface of this fantastic piece of kit, Im still running the bog standard HTC TF3D theme/homescreen, the thing is, the more WAD2 stuff I see, the more I like. I've checked out www.lakeridgesoftware.com and www.swampthing.net and I think Im going to go with WAD2. Just wondering what the general opinion is...pros and cons?
Thanks guys, great forum btw !
pros : you can do just about anything you want with WAD
Cons : steep learning curve I've found

Ok mate, thanks. Presumably by steep learning curve, it depends how far you are willing or 'able'(!) to go into it? There seems to be alot of info floating around here and other net forums.
Any more opinions?
I'm using WAD2 as of right now and love all the capabilities of the software. I agree that it is a steep learning curve but for us WM users, isn't that one of the pluses for owning these awesome devices? WAD2 outperforms TF3D as far as usefulness functionality.
The only thing I miss about TF3D is the weather animation...which I believe will soon be incorporated somehow in WAD2!
TF3D looks pretty to start with but it always seems to take me 1 or 2 taps/slides more than I would like to do what I want.
WAD2 lets me configure my home screen exactly as I want. I have my most common contacts, playlists, application shortcuts and notifications all in one place.
If you use Davideuck's ROM he also includes wkTask which works great for me alongside WAD2. I use WAD2 desktop mainly for notifications, agenda display, contact shortcuts and a few useful but less frequent application shortcuts. I use the downward swipe feature of wkTask to call up a launcher with my 12 most common shortcuts (which can be called up from anywhere). I'm sure you can install wkTask separately but I would recommend Davideuck's ROM as it's very stable and seems to fly along with great battery life.
Cheers,
David
Thanks for the answers guys, think I'll go with WAD 2.

Is there a way to keep theTouch Flo interface and just make WAD2 like a softkey shortcut on the homescreen of TouchFlo? It would be cool if I could switch interfaces on the fly like that

Do a search for "Second Today". I've heard that this program will allow something like this to be done... not quite sure how it work as I haven't tried it myself yet.

HTC Hero GUI has profiles, any software giving the same on WM?

I had the opportunity to play with a Hero yesterday and I loved the fact that their Sense UI had multiple "profiles" or themes, so, for example, I could have one set of screens and widgets for work, and another for personal.
Is there a software that permits me to have the same on Windows Mobile? Thx

Thanks, but G-Profile is not what I had in mind. G-Profile offers settings profiles, whereas with Sense UI, you can set how the Home screens look, e.g., you can have one group of contacts for Favorites for work and another for personal.
Thanks anyway.

The calender is WAY better than the Touch Flo, but other than that, it is just personal preference.
I think SPB shell is much better, due to the ability to customize. Pretty active community as well, meaning a steady supply of new widgets and customizations. Plus it's easy on the battery.
Definitely recommend the 15 day trial.
Since there are no custom roms for the CMDA version I currently use it. I prefer it over touch flow as you can customize it alot more and it uses alot less memory than TF3D does. It has a nice interface and it's fun to use if you get bored with TF3D or regular WinMo 6.1. If you are resourceful enough, you can use it for more than the trial.
tried SPB Mobile Shell,it's gorgous,of course it's better than Malina TouchFlo3D,I like it so much.
but i had to uninstall SPB Mobile Shell, the reason? it is not good at organizing calls and SMS,when there is miss call,SPB Mobile Shell only shows it for a while, then there is no indication you can see that there was a miss call.
this is terribly bad management.
IMHO it was worth it prior to TF3D as plain Windows Mobile 6 was pretty boring.
Now however its kinda like the old guy at the club.
I think touchflo looks nice and clean....BUT, mobile shell is crazy on the personnalization. ? 6 pages for personnalization + weather total of 17 pages with contacts and others .....I love it !

Looking forward to that, I'm always changing and opened to new ideas !
Touch Flo has some serious usability problems.
Email and text messaging for instance.
If you want to check those it is a 3 step process most of the time.
SPB did a really good job making it basically a one touch method.
The eye candy is not as good and the calendar needs work but overall its faster to get things done with basically no lag.
The facebook integration IMO is better as well.
Worth the money.
I installed this theme and nothing is displaying correctly. Any ideas on what went wrong/ It seems like nothing is centered correctly.

I haven't had this issue at all. My notifications stay until I view them.
MS3 is always the first program I install on my phones. Love it, can't live without it. I live on the lifestyle screen, customized just how I like it.
I tried it a couple of days ago, and I guess I'm just getting old. There was a LOT of customization that you could do with it but I just didn't feel like going through all that to get it the way I wanted it. Out the box, I still couldn't get what I was looking for. I switched back to TF3D, but that's not to say that one is better than the other. It's really personal choice. I got pretty much all I need with a few tweaks and TF3D, but if I get bored, the Hero skin for SPB MS3 is looking really good.
Does anyone have any idea why when i install this theme it makes everything on my screen jibberish?
