Hi.. Try Shop-UK on eBay.co.uk he sells a pack of 3 screen protectors for the HD for just £3.28p and free p&p if you order Mon - Fri he will send it the same day, I got mine the next day. They are a good screen protector made by Rinco, they go on easy, fit well, and leave no air bubbles. I have tried some of the more expensive one's and find these are much better. I ordered a second pack and they came just as fast... A great service.

A good screen protector and where to get one (XDA Orbit, UK)

This may be the wrong forum because my phone doesn't look like the icon for this board - if so, please could someone direct me towards the correct forum? My phone is an XDA Orbit.
Anyway, it came with a screen protector - which was a nice touch. The only problem is it's pretty poor (still better than nothing, mind). Can anyone suggest where, in the UK, to get a good one? I think I've used a Martin Fields one before and a Writeshield, but I can't remember how I liked either one since I don't remember which was which!
So, where can I get a good screen protector for an XDA Orbit in the UK?
I ordered mine over the net from Brando. It takes a while to arrive but the quality is good. I've got one each for my Charmer and Wizard, they ought to have one for your Orbit. It cost approx £7 (I think) including P&P.
Seach for the forum topic on screen protector and you'll get lovely recommendation from other members. There is another brand of srn pro that is heavily recommended by the members as well, not sure if you can get it in UK.
You can try eBay also if you want it fast. Just make sure you get the brand name right.
So Brando is an okay place for buying stuff in the UK then? Also, I suppose my main worry is that the XDA Orbit is the same screen dimensions the Artemis - I don't really understand, are they the same phone with a different shell? Is the Orbit a P3300?
The orbit is the HTC P3300 and you can also find screen protectors at gpsforless.co.uk

Well, I haven't really bought 1,000 stuff from Brando yet, but from my 2 experience with them, they are good in terms of speed (considering the process of it getting from HK to UK), packaging and quality of their product. I dont have an Orbit, but if you (and epmulligan) can confirmed that an Orbit is a P3300, then this ought to do the job . Dont worry about the picture showing you the Palm PPC. Check the words under the description on the compatible devices when ordering.
ANYWAY, chances are, if you were to buy a screen protector for a 240x320 device made by the same company, chances are, the size should be alright (e.g. chances are, the manufacturer will be using the same screen all over).
BTW, did you search the forum for other advises. There are some other brand which the members here also recommended. See if they have Orbit specific ones and probably UK delivery.
UPDATE: I had a look at the screen protector offered at gpsforless for Orbit, which is a 12 pack for £5.99. I've tried some similar 3 pack set from someone from ebay and the quality is REALLY different. Hence, I would advise you not to get it from there.
Thanks for the advice guys, very helpful.
If you don't mind waiting a few days for delivery from the USA the Boxwave Cleartouch Crystal is second to none. I used these on my XDA2i and now on my Orbit.

I got mine from this ebay seller dx_accessories
He sells the multi layer stuff and I can confirm it does work. Two main differences from the O2 supplied protector. 1, the top layer is much harder and much more resistant to scratch. It is also smooth (glossy finish) and the stylus glides over it with ease (not the case with the O2 protector). 2, the so-called 'gel' layer that adheres itself to the screen works brilliantly. It left zero air bubble with very small effort. I spent 15 mins getting dust and air bubble out of the O2, this I spent 1 min getting the screen squeaky clean and it sticks on to it perfectly. The size is also perfect, leaving no more than 0.3 mm to any side.
The only problem I have is the glossy finish, making the screen a bit more difficult to see under strong light. I own a Wizard and had a similar protector for similar price but with a matte finish like a normal LCD monitor.
It comes with a screen wipe which is handy. I won't complain for GBP4 all in.

Looked for him and it apears he has nothing at all on sale at all at the moment.
I remembered where I got my writeshield from - globalpositioningsystems.co.uk so I spoke to them on the phone, found the one for the Orbit and ordered it. I just figured I'd stick with what I know because I was satisfied with it before. The main reason I chose this was because the guy on the phone could guarantee me it would fit the device.
I bought mine at http://search.stores.ebay.es/DuraSe...sooZ1QQfsopZ1QQftsZ2QQsaselZ136025443QQsofpZ0
Very quick and impressive quality.
Regards
It turns out the person I spoke to at globalpositioningsystems.co.uk was wrong. The writeshield they told me to get is too big...

Same :/ - Pretty annoying, however the screen does remakrablly stay clean! - Scratches seem to be avoidable if your not abusing it, but I still want that peace of mind - ie using dirty fingers xD
Doubt I'll use play.com again.

Got it from Carphone Warehouse and its a universal one, so ill have to cut it to size myself.
With this quality of screen though, I get the impression a screen protector might not be needed. It feels pretty scratch resistant unless your clumsy and don't keep it in a case of some sort.
I fail to see how general usage could lead to scratches.

A ton of people in the international version forum are having trouble with the capacitive buttons with the glas.t installed. I have one on an iphone 5 and love it but if the buttons dont work its a no go for me.

i had one with issues, according to ebay page for them in the uk, said there was issue with the first batch and they are awaiting stock
of the new improved versions.
It was up on amazon the other day. I came close to ordering it until i read about the issues with the capacitive buttons over at the international one forum.
As far as the cases goes i'm not sure, but i believe spigen recommends that u use the glass protector along with a case. At least that's what i recall reading from their website.

Not true, here is the reply i got directly from sgp.
Thank you for contacting Spigen.com Customer Service Department.*
Hi, my name is Hanna from Spigen.com.
I sincerely apologize, but there does seem to be an issue with our HTC One glass protector. We have been made aware of the problem and will be issuing you a full refund of your purchase. There will be no need to return the product back to us.*
I have submitted the refund and it should reflect back into the original form of payment within 5-7 business days.*
We unfortunately have no news on whether or not an updated product will be released. Please check our website from time to time to see if there are any developments.*
I again sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and greatly appreciate your understanding.*
If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again. Thank you!

I used a glass protector once for my GNex and it was a bad idea. The transmittance must be poor even across that small glass layer because touch was very bad around the edges and flaky in the middle.
i think its more an issue with the low sensitivity of the capacitive buttons than the glas itself. even people using normal plastic screen protectors have said they noticed a decrease in sensitivity with the buttons.

[Q] Screen/digitizer replacement, recommended seller(s)?

Hi
I'm about to try replace my screen on my OPO. There are just so many sellers, it's hard to choose one.
Either way I need the type A with the keypad light.
Many sellers does not specify wither which type or if it's with or without the keypad lights. And sometimes the picutures of the product does not match.
I'm very intrested of which seller from eBay/Alibaba etc you have bought from and are satiesfied with the product.
I want some recommendations so my buy is somewhat more % to work
Thanks.
I have seen the following suggested: vifocal This includes the screen, digitizer, and frame, so it's an easier job to fix than some other purchases. You will still need a sticker for holding down the battery.
There is also a suggestion at the top of the page that is just the screen and digitizer. It is on Alibaba.

Thanks for answer. The Vifocal one I have seen as well. But there is only 1 reference to it as I can find and the communication/support was not so good either. So it does not feel like a good/safe choice.
The alibaba has only 5 sellings and only 2 reviews and 1 one them says defective so that is not a good/safe choice either
Was hoping that there are confirmed good sellers with working product by XDA people
I have already stripped down my broken phone into pieces and only need a new screen to install.
Buy from vifocal, I bought mine from eBay and it has touchscreen issues. The top half of screen registers 2 touches for on and renders it useless so now I have to purchase another. Alibaba/vifocal I would recommend, no matter where you purchase it will be slow shipping from China just stay away from eBay. Also you can use a or b screen they just have to be threaded through different holes in the frame
Buy it from the links you find in my thread "Replacement parts".
They are all Top-Sellers

I saw that thread
But, I can't really find anyone who can say that the screen from Alibaba works as it should. The seller only sold 5 of them and only 2 reviews and one of them was defective. Does not seem like a safe bet? Or do you have tried the screen from Alibaba or knows someone who can tell?

Too late answer Bought it 3 weeks ago
I have a new OPO as well, the other will be a spare one if lights not working. Could be a defect and return screen? Not a problem with type A or B screen/connector?
Will try my new screen this week.

type A or B screen won't exist this problem anymore.the main problem is the softkey.hope you good luck
Will the screen really stuck good with only 3M tape?
I have tired the screen and it seems to work and now to go ahead with the real install.
Will only tape work or need some glue of some kind? Thanks.
I replaced my screen with one from eBay. First lcd didn't work but the next did work ok.
I attached the new screen with double sided tape, which I used a lot for sure.
I got some time today to rebuild my borken OPO!
The screen works perfectly! Even the buttons lights up! Not as well as my new phone but still. Screen is really well responsive.

Guess my brain wasn't working that day, just found it. This will be perfect for the back plus better grip. Ive used these in the past with great results

I hope not, I really like their protectors; mainly for the back. However they do need to work on the yellowing issue as you mentioned.
Also they just came out with their spartan glass screen protectors. Really hard to say, what's going on but I'm not complaining
Will have to stock up on a few items just in case
Edit: Just went to their page and saw that they now offer lifetime warranty on their protectors, granted most will update at least every 2 years I imagine. So the warranty is kind of pointless; good marketing scheme though. Also looks like they are starting to offer more products overall. So I'm not sure why the low prices, maybe to stay competitive?
EDIT 2: maybe you are right, just reread the email and says "*Limited quantities are available in tempered glass and other accessories by XtremeGuard. These products will only be available while supplies last"
Sorry to double post but wanted this separate from my last post.
I believe this code is good for more than 1 use; so anyone wanting to use it on the site is more than welcome. I just ordered a bunch of protectors, etc for various devices we have.
price comes out to dirt cheap.

otherwise they still have their summer80 off.
