with the phone left switched on i put it on charge last night at around 10.30pm
got up at 5.15 this morning to see the green light on
when i went in to battery info to check it said the following

how can this be
i was in bed so didnt use the device
and why is it saying fully charged at 00.50
with the charger still in and power switched on does this mean it does not take any charge once the light is green

k first of all, it's not a good idea to charge it overnight like that. take it from me, when I first got my Tilt (which was my first phone that used a Li-ion battery) I would charge it overnight all the time so that I would have 100% in the morning. but I noticed that the overall battery life slowly began to decrease the more I charged it till the status light was green. I ended up going the warranty path and had a brand new one sent to me, and ever since then I've monitored my charging, making sure that it didn't charge to the full 100%, and it's been fine.

It could also have been that specific battery. I always charge my phone overnight, and nothing goes wrong.

[Q] Battery takes forever to charge lately

I've noticed that since I upgraded to CM-101 (I'm now on 106) that my battery takes FOREVER to charge. For instance, last night I went to bed around 1am and put my phone on the wall charger it was on 17% and when I unplugged it at 9am it was only 67% charged.
I'm at work right now and I plugged my phone about two hours ago and it was at 50% - two hours later and it's at 64%. Before it would at least be at 80% by now.
I haven't installed anything that I would think affect this (no major notifications, etc..)

Check your wake time, it could be that your phone is staying awake and sucking up the juice that should be charging it. Also, does your battery die quickly? A possible culprit could be tango, it has a bug that doesn't allow the phone to sleep.

I'll check out watchdog lite and see what it tells me. It did it again last night. I plugged it in at 12:30am and was at 23% - this morning I woke up at 9am and it was only at 89%. I turned it off and left it charging another 15 minutes and it was up to 96% when I turned it back on. With light usage (20minutes using Music and checking email/SMS message a few times) it's now 11:42am and my battery is down to 51%. It hasn't been this bad in at least a couple of months.
The only that I did over the weekend out of the ordinary was use one of those AA powered portable-chargers that I bought at a drugstore because I was down to 16% and wasn't going to be near a charger all day/evening. Could that have messed something up with my battery?
Worst ever
Mine too!!! this is crazy!!! my O2X take forever to charge and this not my first smart phone... i had HD2, touch pro, desire... all HTC. The only thing is this samsung n dual-core... doesnt make sense!!! so far anybody has resolution for this? HELP!!!!
Same with mine. Did you guys do the OTA update? I did it to watch Green Hornet and it wasn't doing it before.
I plugged it in at 1am @ around 50-60% and woke up at 8am and it was only @ 88%!
I used the wall charger, so it should be getting 1 amp.
UPDATE:
f*cking duh! ooops, my bad! I was developing last night and left STAY AWAKE WHILE CHARGING enabled!

Charging problem! slow or no charge..

ok, over the last week or so ive had this issue, gradually getting worse...
my battery will charge to around 40-45% and then charging will slow right down.
two hours later, it will be on around 50% if im lucky, and about 3 more further hours before i hit 60% (this is some of the time, other times, it just remains on its current charge%)
if i leave it overnight for about 10hours or so, highest it goes to now is about 73%, but this is rare, usually 45-50%ish.
ive tested with htc ac wall charger, htc usb, blackberry charger, car charger and a random microusb wallcharger. all have same issue.
when tested with two friends desire hd's on different days, my battery charged perfectly, and at the normal gradient speed over the % range. and my phone reads it correctly at the 100%-98% when back in my phone after change back.
i thought it was down to my phone, just dont know if its rom or hardware. shud i factory restore, or claim on insurance?
i have another issue here...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18480603&posted=1#post18480603
which also applies to the question of restore or insurance...
thanks
What Rom are you using, i am using runny 2.2 only 62% charge in 6 hours
9 hours later on battery only upto 68% i have amazing battery life now
i'm using runny 2.2.....left it on charge for 2 hours with phone on, but wifi and everything off and it had only gone up 2% ! !
Turned phone off and plugged in charger, 30 mins later, only went up 1% ! !
72% charge at this point.
So took it off charge, put it in my pocket, went upstairs to bed, turned it on to set alarm and it said 100% on battery....weird!!
matt
Lol this is an issue with calibration. The battery is charging but the software doesnt report it.
You have to charge the phone for as long as possible so you know it is on 100% whether the software says it or not, go into CWM, wipe the battery stats and then let the battery drain fully until it shuts down by itself. Then plug it in and leave it until you know for certain it is at 100%. If the green light comes on leave it for an additional half an hour. Then it will be fixed.
ive only recently got this handset, as last one was replaced on insurance a month or so ago, and its runuing on stock rom with latest updates....?

Naztech 3000 mAh extended battery - avoid like the plague

I got a Naztech 3000 mAh "extended" battery, since my stock one lasts for around 14 hours on a single charge. I figured I may add an extra 6 hours or so, or use my phone a bit more during the day.
So, here's what happened.
Day one: 4 hours after I charged my "extended" battery, I was down to 15% charge. 1 hour later, it was at 1%. I hadn't used my phone AT ALL. Charged after 6 hours of (no) use.
Day 2: Pretty much the same.
Day 3: Ran Battery Repair and wiped battery stats. No change.
Day 4: Used my phone heavily, and noticed it stayed at 1% for a couple of hours.
Day 5: Noticed a pattern. The battery will drop to 1% within 3~4 hours of use, and will stay there for around 9 hours. Then it'll turn off.
So, the "extended" battery lasts for some 12 hours - tops. 3 hours after charging you won't know how much juice you have left, since it stays at 1% from that point on.
Bottom line: don't waste your money, the battery is crap.
I have the same issue but not with that battery, i've been trying to find a way to fix it, none of the battery voodoo has worked for me yet
after my phone shuts off because it thinks it's dead and i plug it in to charge, within 2 minutes i have about 20% or more charge in the battery, then after 15 minutes it's about 50% or more charge.
is that same thing happening to you ??

Sort of, yes. It charges in half an hour, tops - if the phone is turned off. If I then turn it on, the phone shows 40% charge, or so - and tops 10 or 15 minutes later. Bizarre!
Happens to me also but only with the replacement battery i have.? It discharges fast and stays at 5% for a few hours. The OEM Battery 1880mah works fine about 1 and half day

I am having the same issue with my OEM Battery. Is there any solution for this or can we set the indicator to show the charge according voltage of battery bcoz i have noticed that charge time is good only indicator is not showing it accurately .My phone last full charge lasted more than 17hrs but it was on 5% in 2 to 3hrs of use.
Update: Today my charge was at 100% at 10.00 AM. With light usage, the phone died at around 5.30 PM.
My battery seems to report better percentages of juice left if I use Kholk's kernel, but I'm not sure exactly why. It doesn't go along very well with Faux's kernel, though.
...can't say much about the factory kernel. Haven't used it much myself.

Actually, the atrix doesn't support aftermarket batteries. Motorola says so, and Mugen says so. That battery is fine, you can use it on 1% for a while. And when it dies charging from 1-99% is accurate for my battery. But when you hit 100% all bets are off.

Did you turn phone off to charge, and pull battery and after it boots to a ?. You should let it sit there for a while and try again.
Mugen has an extended battery for the Atrix:
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...-for-motorola-atrix-4g-with-battery-door.html
Of course, that one is $119, so it probably will work as intended...
Yesterday I got 6 hours out of my charge. I got fed up and swapped the battery for the stock one. $25 I'll never see again...

[Q] Battery charging regimen?

Is there a preferred battery charging regimen for the One X battery?
That is, is it better to, say, always let it drop to 15% and then recharge to 100%, or can/should I charge whenever possible, or in smaller increments?
Also, are there disadvantages to using the phone while charging (as I tend to do quite a lot )?
Thanks!
i normally let mine down to about 10% then just charge it too 100%

Right, but do you know if this is actually the way to go with the Li-Po battery or are you, like me, just winging it?
When i first got my phone i let it run down till it asked for the charger, then left it on charge over night.
I did this for the first 3 or 4 times as i found this yields the longest battery life, since then i charge every 2 days regardless what percentage is left always over night though.
Going to leave it tonight & see if it will go till tomorrow night, its been off charge since 7am on Friday morning so far & is still on 46% a total of 39 hours so far.

You get two days on a charge? Are you a wizard? Although, having just got the phone (and possessing the patience of a 5 year old), I've done a lot of start-stop charging, which I suspect isn't optimal.
I'll try to refrain from trickle charging for a while, see how much difference it makes. Thanks.
Another battery charging thread? Just plug in the damn phone! It will take care of the rest.

I have noticed that the battery does drain in strange amounts.
I have my wifi & gps on constantly, my phone went for 2 days 5 hours & i received a text at which point the phone was at 34% battery.
The phone was put back in stand by & the phone went totally flat in the next 4 hours, this i find strange as over night in stand by it only uses 1 - 2%.
There is obviously a bug in the way the phone reports its battery state, by my reasoning this must be some 10 - 15% lower than what it is reporting.
It does seem to have some difficulties reading the battery level correctly. I've noted a couple of times that it shows a significantly higher charge level (+5-7%) after a reboot. Which is hardly likely to recharge the battery. (Unless I got me one of those perpetuum mobile, in which case, yay!)

[Q] Zerolemon battery issues

So i got the Battery last week. and did the initial 12 hour charge and then some. and battery worked great (lasted 3 days). then i got it down to 1% and then charged it to about 60 before i unplugged it. since then every night that i've put it to charge it charges normally for the first little bit and then has spiked where it goes to 75% then up to 100% then back down. It displays it as 100% but when i unplug it, it goes back down to 75%.
at this point the battery was plugged in for more than 24 hours and its still at 75%. when it is unplugged the battery performance is nowhere near what it was in the beginning or even remotely close.
anyone else had similar problems or am i doing something wrong ?
ps. i did battery reset.
