Unlocking the S620 - HTC Excalibur

Hello,
Is there any way to input an unlock code without changing the SIM card?
I have an S620 and I've purchased the unlock code from T-mobile I've not yet got my new Vodafone SIM card but I want to unlock it so its ready when my SIM arrives.
Is there any sequence that I can put in to unlock it?
I know that on the Nokia you can the # and * key thing then input the unlock code and you don't need to change the SIM to do this.
If anyone knows please contact me ASAP
Thank you

You must know someone who has a different carrier just use there sim

Unlock sequence
I don't know anyone with on a different network.
Its the security software thats messing things up for me

Unlocking S620
I have a HTC S620 that is locked to T-mobile network.
I have 3rd party security software on the phone so when I insert my Vodafone SIM an switch it on the screens flicks between the security software and the unlock code text box.
Is there any way to unlock the device with the T-mobile SIM still in the phone?
I have recently unlocked a Nokia device by inputting the +pw etc and the unlock code.
Is there a sequence I can follow like this for my S620?
Thank you

Hope this helps,

Unlocking S620 text box
I've had a look at that thread but it seems to be some guy that can give you the unlock code.
I actually need to bring the text box up without putting in a new SIM.
I've already got the code I need to put in.
There must be some way of making the text box appear without putting in a new SIM. It must be part of the firmware and should have some way of making the program run.
I've also contacted HTC tech support to see if they can help. But if anyone knows how to do this please let me know asap.
If HTC come back with an answer I shall post it on here.
Thank you

Help! Entering TMO USA TP2 SIM Unlock code, where do I enter it?

Guys I'm over in Europe and attempting to use a vodaphone SIM, I'm running NRG's ROM and radio 4.49.25.17.
T-Mobile had kindly provided the SIM unlock code for my TP2 prior to my trip but when I put in the Vodaphone SIM it doesn't prompt me for an unlock code?
Do I need to manually enter it somewhere?
I think its supposed to prompt you with a screen asking for the code, make sure the Vodafone sim is properly inserted and if that doesn't work you can try looking up the phones engineering mode.
Is the device booting into Windows Mobile & usable with the other SIM card installed? Where did you buy it? Sounds like it may be unlocked already. Anytime I put the wrong SIM in a locked device, on boot up I would get a message for the unlock code & device was unusable, would not progress past this screen. You had to either enter the unlock code or reset & remove the SIM card.
First, check if your device is unlocked by going to Start>Settings>System>Device Info and on one of the tabs, it should say unlocked somewhere. Or, you can check it by downloading ATCommander onto your device and entering [email protected]?40 into ATCommander. It should return 0 if you're unlocked. If it returns 1, you're SIM locked.
Now, if you are still locked, try flashing the Stock Tmobile USA ROM, and insert the Vodafone SIM then. Hopefully, a dialog should come up with an area to enter you unlock code. On the Kaiser, you supposedly had to be running the stock AT&T ROM in order to get the dialog unlock the device with an unlock code. Hopefully that will work. If not, TMobile tech support could probably answer this. Hope that helps

Unlock Tilt2 SIM after having flashed ROM?

Is it possible to use the ATT&T unlock code and procedure on a Tilt2 that has already been flashed with Energy ROM?
If you already flashed a cooked ROM (Like Energy´s) it means your Rhodium is already unlocked
So no need to do it again, now you can flash any ROM (stock or cooked) you want!
Don´t forget to vote!
yes, the ROM is unlocked. But I am asking about the SIM. When the SIM is unlocked then you can use the phone on any carrier, not just AT&T.
Sorry, misunderstood
I would assume so, just get the code and put in a foreign SIM card and it should ask you for the unlock code which you then enter.
I can't imagine changing the software will change the code which is always the same and based on the IMEI.
Which is why with the older phones, it was easy to crack the algorithm, now a days they have made it harder but I guess it is still possible. Mostly these days the cracks come from sniffing the code out using software on the device (you couldn't flash old Nokia's, so you had to break the algorithm) or buy injecting a hack (like the iPhone's unlock) that hides the real unlock hardware/radio/software and just always responds unlocked.
Thankx for the clear answer. I received the unlock code from AT&T and when I am in the foreign country and put the foreign SIM in, then I'll keep my fingers crossed that the phone will ask me to input the code.

You can unlock it now. Just get a T-mobile SIM and put it in your AT&T Tilt2. It'll boot up and ask for your unlock code.

Does HardSPL and flashing a new rom unlock the phone?

Forgive me, I couldnt find the answer to this question.
If it doesnt, what is the best way to do it!
Thanks!

Yes, sorry
There are various sites that will give you the unlock code which is based on your IMEI number, but you shoudl be able to contact the carrier that branded the device and ask them for the unlock code. Then just put the SIM card you want to use in the phone and turn it on, you will get a Network is locked message with a box for you to enter the unlock code you got from the branded carrier.

I havent been able to get an unlock code since the 90's - I use Tmobile and they wouldnt even consider doing it.
If you are unable to obtain the unlock code from T-Mobile then you may want to check this thread:

Problem caused by myself

Hy All,
I'm from Romania but I bought a Fire phone 64 gb, locked on T-mobile Germany, not from Amazon but from a Telekom shop.
I take it because of good price and also to try and test if will work on Telekom Romania network...it desn't work... but i was also prepared to buy the unlocking network code, and also bought that trough a friend....also updated to OS 3.6.6
Meanwhile, when i was in stand by to receive the unlocking code I inserted a romanian carrier sim card...input pin....the phone request the unlocking code...inserted a couple of times the numbers wrong...after dismiss and played trough menus..camera....after i closed the phone in waiting the unlocking code.
The code was send it to me after paying to T-mobile Germany ....and very excited open the phone to insert the code.....but now the phone is requesting the PUK code, instead of network unlocking code....I input the PUK code from sim card...phone says "unable the unlock the PUK"....it is normal not to be able to unlock the PUK because is still locked on T-mobile....and I figured out when insert the network unlocking code wrong for couple of times, the phone will block permanentrly the sim card.
I made it a factory reset, but after insert other carrier sim card the phone still asking for the PUK code and is not able to unlock the sim by PUK.
I have the phone...the unlocking code....good sim card....but i cannot proceed to insert the unlocking code because i played and inserted wrong...i think i am the only stupid in world who made this
Someone can help me with a solution? some combination of buttons...some hide menu to enter and insert the unlocking code?
Maybe if I will buy a T-mobile Germany sim card with activated roaming....insert sim....enter the PUK code of that sim, phone will be able to unlock that PUK protection over the network, and after insert another carrier sim will be able to input the unlocking code?
Regards and hope someone can help.

same problem here
Please help us.
First remove the romanian sim card from the fire phone and insert it any other UNLOCKED phone than try the change the sim pin code with your sim puk numbers. After that remove the sim pin request from the simcard than put it on your fire phone and try to unlock process again.

Hy All,
Long silence..because of work.
So... i send it back to Germany to test the method who was adviced from Telekom call center...I have talked with the support team from Telekom Germany and it seems to solve the problem it is must to insert an plan (abonament) sim card ( not working with a pre pay sim card) from the network who is locked ...it doesn't matter of who have the plan sim...one of your friend or in a shop...and it must be insert the PUK code of that sim and it remove this locking and registering to theyr system, and after will be able to insert any sim card and insert the unlocking code...this is what they told me on the phone...
They have tried and inserted several times an abonament sim card....same problem...but i think they and also people from Telekom shops are out of this space with technics/phones.... all tell me not working...now wait to send in service...maybe they reinstall the software.
Someone tried the method described above by the user "ease_the_pain" or an hard reset (vol. up + vol. down + on/off button in the same time)?
Maybe a hard reset will make the phone to start from beginning with unlocking request... if someone will make the phone work after hard reset please leave message asap...i want to avoid to send the phone in service and tell to my friends to send back to me..
Thx and Regards
Solved
Problem solved...Phone replaced with a new one.... new unlock code now exploring phone and settings....and apps

Sprint HTC One M8 - with Sprint provided unlock code (6 digits)

I called and got my phone's unlock codes (domestic) however Sprint declined to provide how to unlock instructions. told me to go to my future carrier and give them the unlock code.
I called T-Mobile current provider and they told me... no Sprint can unlock and TMo, doesn't know how.
so I am stuck with legitimate Sprint unlock codes... and no idea how to use them.
Someone knows how this works here or it's better off just flash customs rom and unlock XDA way?
Thanks,
When you insert another carrier's SIM (in this case, T-Mob) it should ask for the code, then you just enter it.
Custom ROM isn't going to help you unlock the SIM, nor is there a working "hack" to do so without a code.
Thanks for your reply,
I've tried ATT, TMO sim and the phone does not ask for sim unlock code... it just says contact customer care.
or if someone knows how to get the phone to ask me for SIM/UICC unlock code... some hot keys to press, that can help too since I have the codes from Sprint.
**i am also reading about Sprint Sim unlock on One M8, so complicated!!!**
If you talking about the following mods, they are for unlocking the bands, which AFAIK is not the same as SIM (subsidy) unlock:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/how-to-convert-cdma-m8-sprint-vzw-gsm-t3303812
yeah, can't find a way to unlock sim to use w/ T-mo ATT. strange... I have the codes from Sprint and no one's done it? good thing I got HTC 10 factory unlocked this time no such problem later on
