sms problem, again... - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I just updated my rom with the official update from HTC's website yesterday, all my text messages are fine under the touchflo 3d interface. However, when i click "show all messages" and it takes me to the windows mobile interface, i am only able to see the last message I SENT to the person. On the bottom corner it will tell me how many ever messages i have in my inbox, but only 1 message is displayed and it will be the last message i sent out....
Is anyone else having this problem? Help please!!!

bump anyone??

have you tried clicking on that 1 message? it should bring up the threaded conversation

yeah, its supposed to be threaded with WM 6+. you can go back to the other way by turning it off through Advanced Config 3.3
The only thing i don't like about the threaded messaging is if you look at a text from any previous day it won't give you the time it was sent/received, just the day.

[WM6] Text Messages - Delete button

Small question, but is there a way to revert the old 'New' message button we used to have in WM5 back to WM6?
WM6 introduced a 'Delete' button in the Text Messages screen, since MS is convinced people use the delete more often then the new message function.
I hardly delete messages, so really would love to see my 'New' message button returned somehow.

What I do to "solve" this problem
I simply changed one of the two softkeys on the today screen to "New SMS". Now I can start writting sms without even having to open up the messaging application.
You can do this under Start | Settings | System | Soft Key
Hope this helps some of you
Where can i find the file for placing the "new sms" on my left softkey for htc soft keys?
Tnx in advance

Go to start>settings>system then soft key, then you see the screen for left or right soft key, scroll up and down on the left key list and choose new sms, this should do it.
I have a scroll down menu fo rpointing to a file, i dont have any list!
Im using wm6 black 1.1 and htc soft key....maybe we r atalking about 2 diff things

I like the program, the only problem is it can only do SMS and MMS. There is no E-mail way of doing this. I tried changing the e-mail setting to my
Mobile.exchange.mail2web.com
and it went through, but never got delivered to my friend. Is there any way to get this to work since i don't really feel like using 2 different program to send out messages?
If not then i guess I'll just set my messaging to only goto Outlook and then use the Today screen plugin for the Palm SMS to use for my text messages.

Try this cab file, let me know if it works
I tried the cab (tnx a lot) and it works, it did link the left soft key with "new sms" but if i tap it, i get this message: "the file tnsms.exe cannot be opened.Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its componenet cannot be found.if the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring hte file"
Why?
Whats wrong?
If i look manually for the tnsms.exe file in the position the cab said it is i cant find it...
Im running wm6 black edition 1.1...

Have you used HtweakC which is in the list of programmes? If not open it and click on tweaks>security and tick the box that allows non-certified applications, then try to again.
It was already checked and it doesnt work, but i solved everything using newmenu for wm5..btw, tnx a lot for the help, this forum is great!!!

Palm Threaded App ripped from wm6 rom

Would I sound like an idiot for asking what this is?
It gives you threaded sms like on the Palm Treos. So basically when you talk to someone it looks like a chat window like AIM or something, good stuff! I am downloading and installing now

My girlfriend and I installed it and we no longer have the left soft key that says SMS. How do we fix it?
I just installed it and there is one problem:
On my device there are like 1500 Messages and it's importing them in Groups of 10. After each group i have to restart to get the next 10.
Is there any way to import all SMS?

@Shogunmark
Can you let us know what the differences are between this version and your last version of this app?
Any difference between this final and the beta?
Thanks

too sweet
i will be testing this on my trip tomorrow.
i gotta make more friend that text message, preferable of the female persuasion. =)
does this version still have problem of 'recbar.dll missing' when trying to record a sound?
yes, recbar.dll still missing... i forgot about that... but will work on that issue...
I took out the sms softkey cause it gets on my nerves i always have to remap that thing, i guess i could always make a quick cab to renable it...
the app still looks the same, but some things that have changed....
MMS send was boosted to 600k.
you can now send mp3's via mms.
if you have a message thread open and that person sends you a message it will now alert you.
thats about all that really comes to mind, im sure my testers that had this can come up with more...
nice. thanks you.
Checking it out now.
Great work.
Hopefully this works out good on the mogul.. im crossing my fingers lol. does it look similar to the palm threaded app?
So i'm guessing this is a upgrade. I had a problem with SMS thread when my phone all of a sudden stop receiving text because i guess some went into my old text format somehow and the others i don't know where they went. Any idea if that's been fixed?

it looks exactly the same, they didnt change the look of it, they just fixed some bugs in it...
Looks the same as the previous version. Unfortunately, the annoying 'soft keyboard overlapping the text entry area' problem still exists. I wonder if Palm will ever fix it ...
Thanks Shogunmark.

this is the actual palm threaded app, it replaces the sms inbox on your phone, and works very well... the messages get stored in a different file in their own format...
ON ANOTHER NOTE, A QUICK WARNING
IF YOU HAVE MESSAGES IN YOUR REGULAR SMS INBOX THESE WILL NOT BE CONVERTED OVER INTO THE THREADED APP.. I WOULD EVEN SUGGEST BACKING UP YOUR CURRENT SMS INBOX IN CASE YOU NEED TO REVERT BACK (ALSO SUGGEST DELETING ALL YOUR MESSAGES IN THE OEM SMS INBOX TO HELP ON STORAGE SPACE)

Recommended Text / SMS Threading Program on WM6

Hi, you all seem to know a lot more than me on here Would appreciate some recommendation on text/sms threading programs.
I have tried two and they both had flaws. It seems like it would be relatively simple to do...but obviously not in my experience so far.
Also, I heard the update to WM6 might have text threading...anyone know if any truth to this?
WM 6.1 is supposed to have threaded sms messaging. It would help to let us know which programs you have used. I used OldChaps SMS Chat program until IMSMS came along. Both are good programs but IMSMS gets the nod by a small margin.
I tried the palm app, and I love it but the MMS feature doesn't work. I tried to uninstall the program and it will not go away. I just installed IMSMS but it seems complicated and I can't get it to work right... Anything else out there? I just want to send recieve SMS MMS without troubles and have the threaded feature...
IMSMS FTW!
I don't know of any threaded program that captures MMS. The IMSMS website is very informative. Post the issues you have in the thread and someone will help you fix the issue.

imsms complicated? just watch the videos, its like 5 mins of ur life, and a neat program completely free. worth it!
does IMSMS work well with the wing?
I like the palm threaded sms, but I wish it had predictive text as an option. It makes texting faster. Anyone know if there's a way to enable it on the palm app?

I prefer Extreme Text because I like the simplicity and the ease of switching back and forth between the native SMS app. But I am not a 'power user' of SMS but rather use it in small spurts. I found the IMSMS application very powerful if you use SMS very frequently, IMHO. Both are good...

Looking for a way to make incoming sms popup on screen at arrival

Hi guys,
I had an app on my blackstone some time ago that made an incoming sms messages popup at the bottom of the screen in a small window without me having to start the message app. I did a hard reset my phone today and are desperate to get this app back. I have searched this forum but I can't find the app anymore. Could someone please help me.
Thanks!
start->settings->sound & notifications->notifications->Event (select Messaging: New text message)->tick "Display message on screen"->click OK
Thanks a lot! Thats exactly what I was looking for.

no problem! i won't deduct any points for NOT knowing some pretty basic stuff (like displaying SMS on screen).!!! just kidding!! have a great day/evening!
don't know if it's ROM related or not, but when I was using Diamond, I could reply or delete sms that popped out. But now, I can only hide them. What's up with this?

True Threaded Texting in TF3D?

I'm running stock Sprint 6.1. My question is, when I go to the Messages tab, click on the latest message, it shows all of my texts on top and the texts I received last. It's not true threaded sms. Am I missing something, or is clicking on "All Messages" and using the WinMo interface really the easiest way? I think TF3D is much better and more productive all around, except for this. It doesn't seem very thought through.

The Messages Tab does not support threaded messaging. It only supports a chronological order - but it only sorts messages starting with the newest message - from anybody.
When entering the WM interface in "All Messages", that's when threading is supported. By threading, it means when you click on the person, you see your whole "conversation"; not just you see all your messages in a chronological order.
Well, in other words, I don't know of any tweak to enable a chronological order in which the oldest message comes first in Manila. Nor do I know of any tweak to view conversations ("threads") in the Manila interface.
*Bolded: you can see messages you sent? I never got that on my old T-Mo stock ROM!

When I go to the Messages tab, it just shows the last received text. When I click on it, is where I see the "threaded" texts with mine above and received below. They're in chronological order, but separated by sent and received. I was looking to see if they can mix so they are all in chronological order.

Oh, well sorry for the confusion in my post!
I think the only thing the Messages Tab supports is Inbox messages in chronological order with latest first, oldest last.
However, I'll try to look for some fixes that might work for you.

You are experiencing some kind of bug. The TouchFlo threading is supposed to work just like the WM default threading. They are also both incredibly slow if you have more than 10 messages.
Interesting. Thanks for your time, sumflipnol.

The only layout I've ever seen on the Manila Messaging Tab (on every ROM I've used), is chronological Inbox messages with the most recent message first. I don't know how to set it to a different layout (outbox, conversation, most recent last) in the Tab.
On the tab it is chronological, but when you click one of the messages (anywhere on the text) you are taking into a manila style conversation view.
It IS a bug. Something jacked up since the new year!
Check the date on all your incoming messages.. mine show year 2016!
All sent messages get the correct date... so this is why they are cut in half (some on top, some on bottom).
WTF HTC?????????
Y210K bug get you?
My latest received message says 1/4/16, my reply, 1/4/10
Interesting enough, if I use windows mobile app, the date/threading works fine, so it is a problem with HTC.

yeah i guess thats why, Manila couldnt match the dates to view the conversation of the SMSes correctly.
and btw, there is a fix for the 2016 thingy, a cab, i saw it somewhere around ehre
UPDATE - Just called HTC... they say they are aware of the issue and they are working to get it resolved asap. Couldn't give me an ETA or how the fix would be distributed.
Looks like you guys are faster then HTC
I did a search for 2016 and saw many other people have posted this problem as well as some fixes.

Oh, sorry. I know about that.
I just have it disabled because I'm using an old version of the "Disable HTC Messaging Client" cab (I hate the Leo messaging, and this cab also disables all HTC Messaging), so that doesn't launch for me anymore!
Sorry about the confusion guys.
