I am a newb, but I have searched and been unable to find what I need. I am trying to build a custom rom for my Treo 700wx. I have found the tools to convert a cab file into an OEM package. Now all of the other ROM kitchens are very automated and you can just click on the OEM and everything is done for you. The kitchen that we have for the 700 (thanks Ebag) is not as advanced. SO once I have converted my information to an OEM package, how do I add it to the ROM? DO I just take everything from the folder and add it to the ROM or is there something else that needs to be done?
Second, I have an MP3 ringtone, I would like to add. I have added it to my ROM and tried to move it to the WIndows/RIngs folder using an initflashfile, but it did not work. Can anyone give me any tips here?
Finally, I would like to build into the ROM all of the standard settings the way that I like to have them. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to do that? Would using a .rgu file be the easiest way?

I'm trying to install this Opera CAB -Opera9.5_15445_VGA.CAB - I downloaded from the site and I get this message - the installation was unsuccessfull because the program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions - can anyone help here waht to do?

Depending on the rom you are using, you may need to try sdkcerts.

Can anyone enlighten me how to add Cyanogen's messenger and delete the default one onto custom ROM's?
I have had a look at contents of the ROM's that have it installed, but I can't figure out which .apk/odex file it is. Is it just the case of adding/installing the .apk, or does it require other things?

I'm using htc evo 4g that I rooted (using rootevo4ggingerbread.I accidentally deleted my live wallpaper picker and I just now found the apk folder for it but I can NOT install it!! Help! After trying to install it says fail to install using Astro .Can anyone please help me and give complete instructions on how to re-install live wallpaper picker? I can't use live wallpaper at all. THANK YOU so Very Much in advance!! Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Three ways of doing it..reflash rom..done. use adb to push the apk to system/app..easy to do but requires install of sdk to your pc..using a root explorer copy the apk from your sd card to system/app and fix permissions. Use the search bar to find a walk through of either of the last two.
