Retirement from the forum

Hey guys - after a crisis of conscience i have retired from the forum.
I have taken the roms with me but no doubt you will find them elsewhere.
Thanks to all those that supported me but i now believe rom hacking is not strictly legitimate and i do not wish to have my name associated with them for personal and career reasons.

I don't know why you're doing this, but I want you to know that yours ROMS are very beatiful and powerful and I'm sure you have very good reasons to do this.
Thanks again for your work.

Thats a shame... cause you've been doing a great job and been helping us a lot with not only your nice roms... but also with your knowledge and help!!

Shame best ROMs around and still going! if all ROM writers do what you are going, then no point to this BRILL WEB SITE, then we left with just a normal PDA phone. Iphone maybe now lol

After upgrading to the excellent 3VO ROM, I realized that there was a couple of things that I needed to do... so I searched... and you realize then how many people don't search, and fill up the boards with the same crap... But man, when you find a gem, like this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501081&highlight=mms+size+setting it makes it alright to read up on something that you don't need for your phone, but instead, because it's late, kids and wife are in bed, you need a little humor. Thanks is all I can say!

not only is it awesome because there has been more than enough info on here to get everything i need done without asking a question to any other member but it also keeps me from looking like a lazy d!ck.

just the way i speak. years in the Marine Corps and trash means good and not necessarily bad. so do appreciate all the trash because one mans trash is another treasure.

This was unexpected.

Well I know this is sudden and possibly stupid, but I'm retiring from ROM development completely for those reasons:
1. I don't have the time anymore. I strive to be a game designer and that's my focus, dividing my attention unfortunately at my age isn't really an option considering I have a job currently and I need to pay the bills.
2. I got stuck in the development of CM7, and with lack of tutorials and my little time I can't really get past beyond the point I'm at. Fret not though, with luck Arco68's CM9 should be around the corner. He's really good and won't disappoint you like me. Give him time though =P
It was a pleasure to give a small push to this phone's community which I will keep an eye on (I will try to run for mod of this phone's forum, who knows, eh). For a good in-development ROM for now, look at cowithgun's rom, he's constantly updating it =P

Hey KP, I hope you will rethink about this decision, because you're an awesome guy and programmer!
But as always, your life comes first. So settle things with your job and then retake ROM development when you have the time for it

You gave the SGW community a big push with your custom ROMs and that´s what counts.

This is like a re-run of when I was involved in ZTE Blade on Modaco......
Dev wbaw, brilliant guy, always said "this is my last ever ROM" going to concentrate on Building Websites, yadda yadda......
BTW, We Build Any Website...wbaw
but he always came back with more.........and more!!!!
Just make sure you make time for all the other things in life, believe me, it's too short, so take care of the Work-Life Balance.......

Only sing any praises AFTER I get CM7 to work... I have a few good ideas on maybe how it will work (maybe).. It's based on a old theory I had when I first thought about porting CM7..

Since we have a new thread about CM7/Oxygen from Kezra I think he gave a second thought, at least for now. Or maybe he's just being able to manage things bt slowing down at the moment.

It runs so smooth and the most important thing is that I chose to test it out of my own will and understood that there will be some things not working.
Its just so bad that you'll find people complaining as if they were forced to install these ROMS, some are even pushy and there's just no appreciation. Guys you know yourselves and I'm asking you to please stop it.

So true, this is a hobby for all the developers. They still have lives to live, jobs to do and wives / girlfriends to keep happy.
