I'm a newbie to both Windows Mobile(and Xperia) and xda-developers so excuse me if I'm too noobish. My question is: Which is the most simpliest way to install TouchFLO 3D on a X1. I have Windows 7 and R3A(on the X1). I would prefer some kind of cab that installs it as a panel. If there's really no way how can I Hard-SPL on W7?(because as you may know ActiveSync doesn't work)
You CAN just download the cabs and install them..

There has been cabs posted here since November 2008 for TF3D panel. It's even a sticky, 5th from top of the general forum:

HardSPL works on Windows 7. ActiveSync has been deprecated since Vista, it's called Windows Mobile Device Center now. To get the RUU flasher to work, you need to get Windows to recognise your phone as a Windows Mobile device and the WMDC package has the drivers.

Title says it all...Landware made its .cab wm5 compatible only, I hacked it to install to any wm build. Hope some of you will find use for it, as you may know this is NOT pirated, you still need the same activation code as with WM5.
There's no WM6 APPS forum, so I figured this was the best place to post it.

The current version of Pocket Quicken (v2.5 Build 338a) installs and works well with WM6 without any tweaks. I have it on Cingular 8525 running CUSTEL WM VI Pro v2.5.

I'm thinking of writing some games for the touch hd, but when i try to install the WM6 SDK, it says that my Compact Framework is not installed (it says v2, sp1), although I already have the v3.5 install (im using windows 7 beta btw)
also, if i don't have visual studio 2008, is there any other IDE that i can use to develop this (since WM6 won't allow me to install unless i have visual studio) (I already know about SharpDevelop but its not that good for me).

you will need a skin/theme from a program called Wisbar Advance Desktop - you can get either Vista or Windows 7 looks with this software.
I was just wondering. I am sure it has been asked before but I just finished reading through I don't know how many topics just to upgrade to windows 6.5
I really don't know where to start reading to find out the following.
I have some "old" Windows 6.1 3DtouchFlo themes I really like. I managed to get the Diamond TF3D Config to run on Windows 6.5 but when I try to install one of them it unpacks and does everything but after reboot I still have the theme I had before.
Is there a way to run my old themes?

it is possible to run windows mobile cab files on WP7? how?
windows mobile install most apps by load cab files into devices and double click in file explorer to install them, WP7 does not have file explorer.
are cab files actually compatible with WP7?

short answer: no.
long answer: no. only xap files can be sideloaded.

WP7 uses xap's for installs. Cab's are no longer supported and do not work on WP7. No WM apps will run on WP7.
It might be possible one day to run WM apps on WP7 but I don't see it happening anytime soon.

not sure cabs is it compatible with wp7
but i'm sure the windows mobile cabs can't install to wp7
cause Windows Mobile and Windows Phone is totally difference System
